This place is a hipster haven. The atmosphere and wait staff are such ridiculous examples of hipster culture it's almost like a satire. The knackwurst sandwich wasn't cooked enough to snap like a good German sausage should. The roll was not only NOT a baguette, it was stale. The real kicker was the "seasoning" of cheeto dust. I get that it could possibly be a good idea but it was just thrown on top. I scraped most of it off as it was overwhelming and frankly just gross. The only good thing about the meal was the cabbage on top and the side salad of greens. I will admit that - the small side salad was absolutely delicious. The big factor that goes into this place only receiving one star is the wait staff. They are all aloof and have some sort of attitude problem. I asked the waiter very politely if the oysters on their po'boy sandwich were fresh or frozen and the waiter replied, "I'm not sure. Is that really important to you?" And I said, "No, not a big deal at all. I'll just go with the knackwurst sandwich." I'm always very careful to be extra polite to servers because I don't want someone to mess with my meal. When he brought out our meal, he had the audacity to say to me - "knackwurst...caught fresh." And shot me a look. The rest of the meal there was no "can I get you guys anything? How's the food?" etc. He just stood around trying to look cool and played on his phone. The real topper was when he came back at the end of the meal and literally tossed a pack of smarties at each of us. I suppose this is their version of an after dinner mint but they just have to be unique. My brother about pissed himself laughing because he previously said, "I'll bet a place this ridiculous has a bowl of tootsie rolls in the bathroom or something." Don't eat here. We have stopped at Hand + Foot a few times in the last couple years for lunch while traveling through the area, and thankfully each time has been on Taco Thursday. It has become a favorite of ours. This time, the special was chicken tacos - a hard shell tortilla inside a soft tortilla with a layer of cheese to keep it together, filled with shredded seasoned chicken, white beans, cilantro, and corn, served alongside fresh made tomato salsa and a light salad. I have had beef tacos and chicken tacos with a salsa verde in the past here, too. All have been delicious. The way that they meld the taco shells together is unlike and better than any I've had elsewhere. The atmosphere is laid back, and service is attentive, helpful and quick. Great place. read more

I had such high hopes for this cute little hipster sandwich shop, but was sadly disappointed. The decor and service were great. The menu was small but okay. The sandwiches themselves were pretty good- I got the fried chicken and my husband got the bahn mi. But the sides were terrible. He got chips- we expected amazing homemade warm chips- maybe a mix of sweet and regular potatoes?!?, but instead we got ruffles from a bag. I got "greens for an extra dollar" and expected a nicely dressed arugula salad with some sliced tomatoes and pine nuts, and instead got some wilted ice burg with a boring dressing. So underwhelming. My boyfriend and I are in the area for work and decided to stop in for lunch. We have been in the area for about a month and needed to take a break from the ever popular burger and pizza joints. After taking a look at the menu we were thrilled to find a spot with unique cuisine and an extensive beer and cocktail list. We were not greeted at the door and sat ourselves at the bar. The female behind the bar gave us food and drink menus as well as waters and never came back to us. The gentleman behind the bar wearing a backwards baseball cap took our drink order. A few minutes later, we were ready to order our entree . I ordered the fried buttermilk chicken sandwich, Amish pretzel, while my boyfriend ordered the banh mi and about ten minutes later our food arrived. My fried chicken was tough and bland and served with lays potato chips. I broke off one piece of the pretzel and removed a strand of white hair from my mouth. After handing the hair to the backwards cap bartender, the only response I received was "ok, I'll take it away." He offered no apology just silmply, "ok". After he removed my pretzel and brought it back to the kitchen, I noticed him talking to a gentleman with a long white beard at the entrance of the kitchen. After that, none of the two staff members came to check in on us. The attitude was uncalled for and unappreciated. I myself work in food service and as a lead in a kitchen myself, my employees are required to wear beard guards to prevent this exact situation. Needless to say neither of us ate all of our meals and we were most excited to receive the check. Great place to grab a bite to eat on your way to the Corning Museum of Glass. We arrived just at lunchtime and had the brisket and the Hippie sandwich (goat cheese, carrots, arugula and cherry chutney), both of which were outstanding. The side salad is exclusively lettuce and light on the dressing, so I would skip that next time. The beer menu was stunning and lengthy, though I did not imbibe as I was driving. I would definitely come back here, tomorrow, if I did not live out of town. Highly recommend! Very nice place in the old part of Corning. It's on a great street with lots going on. I forgot my glasses so I couldn't read the menu. The waitress suggested a few things and I went with her recommendation. This place is a little gem on the Main drag of Corning. It reminds me of a place you would find in Brooklyn or another big city. I love the layout of this bar. There are a few individual tables in the back and couches in the front but I love the big table in the middle. You make friends that way! It is very industrial and rustic looking in here so it's my style. A+. The bartenders/service is very good, everyone is super friendly and attentive. There is one bartender who is just awesome, he's very friendly and fun all at the same time, always has a smile on his face. The owner is a nice guy too. The food. I love the pretzel. It's awesome. I usually only get small plates here instead of the big entrée/sandwiches. I'm not a huge sandwich person so I don't always choose places with only sandwiches and they have a majority. It's okay, I love the pretzel. I've had a salad from there once this past fall and I was not impressed with it. One thing I miss from the menu is the corn! OH THE CORN! It was so amazingly delicious, I wish it would come back! I'm a vegetarian so this place doesn't have a huge cater to my kind but it's not terrible. The drinks. The drink menu is HUGE. Bigger then the food menu. It will take you some time to order it if you are indecisive so be prepared! One thing I wish they had? Dessert. I'm big on desserts and I don't remember them having a section for it so boo. I guess it's okay because I walk right down to Dippity Do-Da's and I have my fix. But c'mon guys! Corning is my usual go-to town when driving between Toronto and Philadelphia/New York since it's about the halfway point and it's a nice little town with quite a big glass-making company (which is why I think everything closes here so damn early because no one cares to make more money than they have to). So, when the one restaurant I've been trying for years to try out was closed for the day (5pm every day), I decided to try out another new restaurant in their little town center and found Hand and Foot not only opened, but had a pretty healthy menu, which I was craving. Their decor and setup is more or less modern hipster which matched their creative and interesting items on their menu. Mostly they had sandwiches, but they also had some other "non-sandwich" items. I had their recommended curry beef sandwich which was probably one of the better tasting sandwiches I've had in a very long time. It was very interesting and full of flavors. Who would've thunk putting curried meat with steamed maple-glazed baby carrots and corn would make for such a delight for the tastebuds? I also got their kale slaw which was really, really good. My mom and I kept wondering how they were able to take most of the bitterness out of it leaving it perfectly tasting with a hint of bitterness. Their beer menu is decent. Wished they had more of the dark stout variety. Service was awesome and very helpful. Our waitress recommended all that I had and it was worth taking her advice on the choices. So, whenever I drive up to TO again, I'll definitely be stopping by here to grab a nice meal with friendly service. I was in Corning for work and had some down time in between obligations during the day, so I was on the hunt for a lunch spot. Opened Yelp, searched lunch and lo and behold, this place. The menu is short and sweet; one column of sandwiches, one column of everything else. There is an emphasis on local produce, local meat, and local baked goods which I always appreciate. I had the fried buttermilk chicken sandwich with house-made pickles, spicy mustard, and smoked bacon. It was delicious. The chicken was thin and nicely seasoned and the flavors worked wonderfully together. The roll was good not great. However, what elevated this place is their tremendous drink menu. They had eight well chosen beer taps and an unbelievably diverse selection of wine and spirits. Their can/bottle beer selection is nothing to be quibbled with either. They should really pre-rinse their beer glasses though. The design/ambience was nice enough. There was some world music playing which isn't really my jam but that didn't matter. They have many local beers as well as an interesting and impressive selection of liquor. I frequent H+F with work friends, family and my girlfriend. I love the place! Great food with really creative dishes. I love the sausage platter, fried rice, and messy bowls! Great apps and beer. They know how to make a cocktail. The quality is A+ and the environment is really interesting and relaxing. The staff is exceptional. Came here once for lunch and once for dinner. Same menu but the food is excellent. Had the poke which was a bit on the small side but delicious! Nice seasoning with black sesame seeds and soy sauce. Had the pork chop which was pan seared and cooked perfectly. Not dry at all. The Po Boy sandwich was fantastic. Shrimp was nicely fried and seasoned, bread was nicely toasted. They've got a nice bar with a decent selection of draft beers. I'd say this was the highest quality food on Market Street in Corning. Go there and you won't be disappointed. Those teeny metal stools are small and uncomfortable..*psst not all hipsters have tiny butts!* ..Beer brisket and Kale slaw is so good I can't bring myself to get anything different when I am able to go there! Fried pickles and pearls are great. Tostones I wouldn't get again as they were quite dry. Rice cake bowl was good. Just wish there were more than 2 individual tables as me and most of my family/friends enjoy our privacy and space but from the looks of all the other patrons, they clearly weren't bothered by the 20ft table placing them elbow to elbow with each other. Needed to eat. On the way home. Other Yelp reviews and pics drew us in with interesting dishes and a long beer list. Holy crap, did this knock it out of the park. My sausage was delicious and I remember sort of wanting to lick the side salad bowl after I was done. (Yessss, tasty dressing.) The beer selection, though--oh my goodness. Not too heavy on one style, and complete with a lot of choices you wouldn't see anywhere else. I had enough trouble deciding what to eat on the food side. The beer side was even more difficult, especially given that I wanted maybe one max since we had a drive home. If you're up for something adventurous, go here. The interior is a little darker, but cute and cozy. There's a huge, ornate bar, which suggests that the rest of their alcoholic offerings are just as amusingly diverse as the beer list. A real highlight was the women's room--retro tile everywhere! I grew up in older houses with awesome tile work, so that made me smile. read more

My wife, dad, and I all really enjoyed our experience here. The service was good, the atmosphere is welcoming and the food was great. The restaurant is basically just the bar with a long table running down the whole space that multiple parties can share. There are a few couches and chairs up front on either side of the entrance, and a few separate tables towards the back. It has a clean, vaguely industrial feel, but was still very warm. I'll start with my one negative note: they serve their food with chips. I'm pretty sure these are just Ruffles that they put in a paper bag. It feels like a cop out. We ordered: French Toast Melt: This was what I ordered and it was phenomenal. It stood out on the menu basically because I'd never seen a sandwich like it before. It's crafted on freshly made French Toast (and damn good French Toast at that. If they were open for breakfast I'd come back for that alone). The ham, apple, and brie combo on the sugar dusted and crisp French toast was delicious. Beer Brisket Sandwich: This sandwich is exactly what we were expecting. The roll and beer cheese were both tasty and the brisket was tender. The pickled onion was a little over the top. We left a clean plate. Fried Buttermilk Chicken Sandwich: This was another well crafted sandwich. We were warned it would be really spicy. I didn't experience that, but we did scrape a lot of the mustard off and the sandwich was much better after that (and it was good before that as well). The chicken had a nice, crisp coating. It was a huge sandwich and was disassembled for the chicken about halfway through. Next time I'm in town we'll be making a return trip. read more

Other than the name, I really like this place. The food: Bahn Mi : The pork was delicious, the bread was perfect and the pickled veggies were the bomb. Well executed! Pretzel appetizer : The pretzel were bun style and cut into quarters. For the price I thought the portion was a little small. I'd have also liked it, if they served both the cheese dip and a mustard, or at least a choice. Was very tasty, but for the price, not sure if I'd order again. The Seating : there is one main table in the center on the restaurant. Not a bad style for a work lunch, but not ideal for a date night. IMHO. As a corning local, Hand and Foot is relatively new on the scene, opening in 2013, but I honestly can't remember what market street was like before they were here, and I certainly can't imagine a market street experience without them. I'm part of a large community of glassmakers both in Corning and across the country/globe. The day Hand and Foot opened, it immediately became the go-to place for dinner and/or drinks. If I ask a friend if they want to get a beer at 7 o'clock, we don't have to talk about where we're going. We know we're going to Hand and Foot. The style, the staff, the atmosphere, and don't even get me started on the menu. It's all top notch. 8 beers on tap, and that list rotates seemingly on a daily basis, and they always have the freshest, most hard to get beer from craft breweries across the nation. If the tap list doesn't excite you, there are over 100 additional options in bottles and cans. (Or just come back tomorrow, because there's a good chance at least a few of the draught options have changed.) It's hard to comment on the food menu, because depending on when you are reading this review, it might not be accurate, as their menu changes regularly, based on where and when they can get the best, freshest ingredients. Example, when it's prime tomato season, mid-late summer, turn up and get the best BLT you've ever had. Don't expect a BLT in February though, because they refuse to work with even slightly sub par ingredients. If you're lucky enough to show up when the Ya Ka Mein is on the menu, don't even look at anything else. It's the best thing I've ever eaten. Thick spaghetti noodles, a perfectly spicy beef broth, thinly sliced London broil, and a hard boiled egg. Seriously life changing. The staff are all incredibly knowledgeable about their offerings, and they all do a fantastic job, really going out of their way to provide the best experience they can. Seriously, if you're in Corning and don't stop at Hand and Foot, you have wasted a trip. read more

My boss and I have been traveling the state, and the mere thought of another fast food lunch in the car just made me weary. He cleverly hopped on Yelp and discovered that we were only a couple of blocks from Hand and Foot. I have to say, they may want to rethink the name, because the minute I posted a photo of the front of the restaurant on my Facebook page, many of my friends thought of Hand, Foot and Mouth disease (which is a LOT less fun than a great meal). Thankfully what awaited us inside was in fact an amazing meal, and we will return. I would have photos to post, but we dove into our lunches far too quickly. "After" photos of lunch really aren't as appealing, so you'll just have to trust me. We started with the Street Corn and the %*@! Pretzel, at the bartender's recommendation. The corn has this sweet/savory thing going on, and come ON who doesn't like food on a stick?? No one, that's who. The pretzel, oh the pretzel. Okay. Picture this: Warm, fresh, homemade. The size of a large roll (and a half) but a pretzel in taste. Cheese melted ever so gently across the top. You tear off a piece and taste it. But wait- there's a dipping sauce. This sauce. There are no words. It's beer-y and cheese-y and oh holy GOD is there more? There's not? I ate it ALL?? Shit. My boss had the Banh Mi, because apparently he is a Banh Mi fan (I didn't know that one could be such a thing, but I was mistaken). I tried a taste, but as I don't typically eat meat, I decided that while it was really good, it wasn't for me. It was sweet and spicy and crunchy all at once, so if pork belly makes you salivate, you HAVE to try it. I had the Patsio Dinner Salad, a delightful mix of greens, a light dressing, to-DIE-for pickled beets (white wine pickled beets, to be exact), feta, and OH THAT'S RIGHT Potato salad nestled gently on top. And not like, your grandma's potato salad that she brought to every picnic. I mean, hers is good, don't get me wrong, but this takes potato salad to a whole new level. A potato salad upper echelon, if you will. All told, we will be back because this food and this service and the ambiance are totally on the mark. read more

Wonderful ambiance, lovely staff and creatively crafted menu, unfortunately the quality was not up to par with the way the menu was written. Fish and Chips were jicama fries topped with a breaded fried thin fish (either tilapia or catfish) not the flaky tempura style: banh mi had lovely bread and park roast but missed the mark without the right pickles veggies nor fresh jalapeño. My husbands rice bowl was a couple of fried nuggets on rice with a flavorless red sauce. Very disappointing. Must be a great place for bar hopping but save your $ for food elsewhere. read more
