Always a great experience. It's not a huge place; main seating is a long community table, very brauhaus. A big stack of board games to play with friends. Fantastic selection of tap beers that I can't get at home, with the availability of crowlers to go. They also have a large selection of cans and bottles as well as some odd and rare liquors. The staff is attentive. I usually come in for a sandwich and the pickled beets when I'm in the area. This time it was the Kielbasa sandwich and some plantains. Definitely try this place. read more

We came here after a day at the museum, and at 5:30 on a Monday, they were already busy, but there was still room for us without a wait. They have so many fun cocktail choices as well as some local beers on tap and it was hard to decide! I had a Paper Plane which was excellent! We started with an order of tostones which were amazing and a serving generous enough for 3 of us. They were freshly made, and the sauce accompanying them complimented them beautifully. I had the Korean rice cakes for my entree and it was delicious. Think really good gnocchi with ground pork, corn and other goodies in an amazing sauce. Service was excellent and everyone was friendly. I am normally not a huge fan of communal tables, but it works here! The cocktails are amazing and some can even be made without alcohol. The food is unique and super tasty. So glad this place exists in Corning- they definitely add a great foodie vibe to Market Street and are not to be missed. I love the Bahn Mi, Hippie be Good, and kale salad. One thing to note is that it does feel like it turns into a club after ~8p on weekends and the communal seating gets filled up fast. So go early for dinner if that's what you are after. It has a large long table running down the center, a bar top area, and a few other smaller tables. Eating at the long center table was an extra nice treat because you could see other people's food when it can out to give ya an idea of what you may or may not like. I ordered based on a recommendation from my sister and it was phenomenal. I have the Beef and Broth ramen. One, it is huge! Like well worth the money. It had a sure rich and spicy beef Broth, with tender mushrooms and beef, baby bok choy,noodles, egg and a few other items mixed in. I ordered the fried chicken sandwich and the Cubano. I decided on greens with one and chips with the other. The fried chicken sandwich was absolutely delicious! It gets 5 stars. It came with three thinly pounded chicken breasts and which were fried perfect with an awesome breading. Crunchy and tasty while not being super thick. I could eat the chicken alone without the bacon and cheese, it's so good. (Get the fried chicken sandwich!) The salad dressing is great but I would rather spring mix over iceberg lettuce. Personal preference. The cubano was why I give a 4 star review. The b+b pickles don't give a vinegary contrast to the pork and cheese. They don't have a sharp bite to equal the fat. The other detractor is the bread was too sweet, just like the pickles it didn't equal the fat and richness of the meat and cheese. Finally, on the cubano, it wasn't pressed hard. I think most of us expect a panini sandwich like a cubano to be thin and crispy. This wasn't, it's about as thin as a burger. All in all their fried chicken is perfect! I wanted to like this place more. This is downtown Corning, which is very nice. The kid's menu is not good. Grilled/fried cheese or PB & J with chips. The chicken fingers were beyond over done and all you get is what appeared to be two chicken fingers cut in half..we sent them back. I felt bad as I had to take my kids to get food somewhere else afterwards. The regular menu was eclectic and tasty. The pretzel was weird and stale. Their sandwich rolls also tasted a day old. The front of the restaurant seemed to be born straight from a garage sale. Old tattered chairs and germ filled game's missing most of their parts. Of course my kids were drawn to them...have we learned nothing from Covid?? They should clear out the front and put tables in the windows for people to eat at. Focus more on your menu and deliver excellent food. If your going to serve potato chips with everything, put a small side of french onion dip with them. Maybe try making your own chips and dip too. read more

Place wasn't too busy when I first sat down, but by the time I was done with my drink and food, the place was packed, clearly a testament to how good the place is. Food: got the fried buttermilk chicken sandwich. High and low spots here, the chicken was cooked wonderfully, lightly coated, good overall flavor. Could have used a smidge more cheddar and pickle, the pickle was a great complement to the chicken, just need some more. What I found odd though was the chicken wasn't a singular piece of chicken. Now, at first I went, oo, it's more chicken then, thank you for the generous portion, but then i realized it was just cut, which made keeping this sandwich together on the bun difficult. I know it's an odd complaint, but having different pieces of chicken constantly fall off the bun (i'm not a sloppy eater) made eating this less enjoyable. Drink: they have a pretty darn good bourbon selection. I would have had numerous more pours but I had to drive, so was one and done. If you're in the area, def worth stopping in. read more

We like this restaurant so much that we visited THREE times during our one-week vacation to the Finger Lakes. We were not even staying in Corning; we kept driving to the restaurant from Horseheads. What we like about this restaurant is the very creative chef who combines flavors and ingredients in unexpected ways and yields great results. My husband and I both love the tuna poke, which is served with sweet coconut flakes, diced avocado, sesame seeds, jalapeno and no rice. We both ordered this dish several times. I love the hippie sandwich, which I ordered with a side salad. The side salad was unexpectedly tasty and interesting and was mostly arugula. The hippie sandwich contains goat cheese, spicy jam, smoked carrots (you must try these!) on a great whole grain toasted bread. I enjoyed a can of Original Sin pear cider with my meal. Free street parking. Spaces always seem to free up while you're looking for one. I've never tasted anything in this restaurant that wasn't delicious. Try it; you'll like it. read more

The restaurant is super cozy and warm with an awesome looking bar, a big community table, and other small tables surrounding. The place overall looks super trendy and cool, I loved it! And the food - WOW! We were so impressed! We ordered the beer brisket sandwich, the po boy, and the tostones! The beer brisket was sooooo tasty and the beer cheese was amazing on top! The shrimp in the po boy was crispy and paired so well with the tomatillos on top! And wowww those tostones - we CRUSHED these! Fried and seasoned perfectly with a delicious aioli to dip them in. Pros: amazing alcohol selection with a wonderful focus on in-state breweries and wineries. Waitstaff were friendly, kind, and gave prompt service - absolutely no complaints there. The cons: I wish I could say their food was amazing. I wanted so badly for it to be amazing after reading all the reviews. But another review said "the rice cakes will only make you crave the real thing," and I'm sorry to say they're right. The texture is weird, the flavor is weird. I came in expecting rice cakes and got something kind of like gummy too-salty popcorn with meat mixed in. Not ideal. Also, this place has never heard of social distancing. No one wears masks, including waitstaff - I was the only masked person in the entire place. The communal tables were probably a wonderful idea in the before times, but these days there's no way I'm sitting right next to a stranger to eat my food. If you'd rather your trendy date night or family outing didn't end in everyone catching covid, this place is best enjoyed takeout only. I can't recommend the rice cakes. I want to believe their other offerings are good, and probably their sandwiches are amazing. If I were not only passing through I'd give this place another try. Gem. My sweet father in law has celiac (like really really allergic), and they hooked him up! Often when we go places we get the feeling wait staff doesnt understand that he's not just doing this for weightloss, but both women helping us out were attentive, assured him of their cautions, and then they delivered. Watching him eat was pure magic. He doesn't often find dishes he actually loves. As for the rest of us: we all traded plates and we couldn't decide who had the baby dish. It might have been that damn chicken sandwich but everything was just perfect. We also drank just about everything they had. They were so good to us and we had such an amazing family day on our vacation to the finger lakes. For vegetarians, celiacs who need gluten free food, and meat eaters: this is the place.
