Worst spa experience ever!! I left the below message for the manager/owner. I have yet to be contacted. I should've read the other reviews!! To whom it may concern, I've been receiving regular massages for the last 10+ years. I wasn't feeling my best so I booked a 90 min deep tissue massage. No issues at time of check in or at least so I thought until the "service" had ended. The "therapist" brought me to the room and when I would normally expect intake to happen there was no where for me to sit or put my things down. There was a large plastic container on the chair for the client and instead of the "therapist" removing it for me she went and made herself comfortable in her chair leaning on the counter. I explained I slept funny and my upper back and neck needed attention as did my lower back. I explained that I preferred a deep tissue. She then asked me to confirm three times that I wanted full body deep tissue. Asking if I wasn't sure that I wanted a firm Swedish instead. I should've know better at this point she was not comfortable with the request. When she started the massage she didn't bother wasting as time warming up my muscles she just went for it. Throwing her entire body weight into her forearm and elbow running down my spine. Shame on me for not telling her to stop. She ran into my spine multiple times so forcefully she said "Ouch". Stabbing my hip bones with her elbow it's impossible to believe she could tell the difference between a knot and a bone. If your "therapists" are unable to provide service they should not be assigned. This went on for 45mins and while I knew my time was cut short I was grateful the tournament was over. My 90 min "massage" was 30 mins short because she did not have the time for the appointment. At no point was the communicated to me that I would not be receiving the service I scheduled. At check out I explained my dissatisfaction and was still asked to pay $170 for 60 mins of pain. I refused and was still charged $120 for what I'm not sure. I'm in agonizing pain today and will have to seek medical attention to ensure she didn't injure myself. A spa is a place for self care and relaxation. This was anything but. Please consider the service you provide and if your employees are capable of delivering. From the front desk to the "therapists" there's dramatic room for improvement. read more

Reading the previous reviews I was very hesitant to join here but have had no issues at all The place is very clean and the staff friendly. I received a very good massage and was treated respectfully I wound up joining for once a month It's an excellent deal! No one has tried to upsell me or charged me more than what I asked for read more

Facial at this location was pretty impressive, I felt like the esthetician really knew what she was doing and targeted both my pores and my dry skin. Massage was ok, it didn't really feel like a quality massage but rather just somebody rubbing you quickly. I haven't had the best experiences at H&S locations due to the costs not really feeling worth what you receive and I couldn't help but feel that way again when I left. The bombardment of trying to get you to sign up for a membership is really aggressive at this location, so if you are someone who is looking to quietly receive services and leave, be prepared when heading out. read more

Don't waste your time. Only reason why I gave 2 stars is because the massage therapist was amazing and the girls in the front were so sweet. I booked a massage/facial combo for myself on mother's day. First time facial, second time massage. Long story short, when I was ready to check out, the receptionist said she see I upgraded to a diamond facial with collagen. I DID NOT. Esthetician basically performed the service and did not inform me of what the service was and how much it cost. Only communication was asked if I wanted to do a service for my neck, which I declined. I ended up paying the additional $145! Spoke to the manager the following day. Basically called me a liar and didn't refund me, partial refund or met me halfway on anything! I then told her I don't like the way this was handled and I would like to cxl my membership, with glee she said okay no problem! And maybe try the Clifton location since this location didn't satisfy you! Like...what?! She was so condescending and gives no care on customer service. Go somewhere else. read more

I had a Terrible experience at this spa. I requested deep tissue and barely received a Swedish massage. My facial should've been an hour but it was 30 minutes. I upgraded to a scalp massage as well, however, it did not last 5 minutes. I think I would've been better off purchasing a Groupon facial and massage. LOVE coming to Hand & Stone! My mom and I have been members for over a year and although with membership you're eligible to get service done at ANY Hand and Stone, our favorite location is this one! Towards the end packages sales could be over whelming if you're new, their eager to sell memberships and will try to persuade you into a deal. No matter how many times you say no to package add ons and new memberships they are extremely persistent in selling. Other than that, Hand and Stone is great! I go regularly for facials and the woman who does them is amazing, I don't remember her name but I will revise this post after my next visit! My facials are always followed by a 60m Swedish massage and as an add on I recently got a CBD infused massage which made my muscles feel relaxed. I recommend trying them out! The reception staff at this location are very unprofessional, slow at checkout and never answer the phone. You always have to leave a message. The staff manager is also very overwhelmed and can't handle pressure or multitasking. I would go to another location. read more

Had a great first experience here! First time ever getting a massage and can honestly say that it was worthwhile. The ladies in the front were kind and explained all of the services and options to me. I even brought my father for a massage and he felt that his back received the perfect amount of attention. Clearly, they choose quantity over quality. They were a little backed up and it took 15 minutes for me to get my paperwork, fill it out, and get brought in. I was 7 minutes early for my appointment as well for a facial. When I was finally called up the girl goes "oh by the way we have to shorten your facial time by 16 minutes as you did not start on time." As a NEW client this is unacceptable, I wasn't late, they were. I walked out and won't ever return. That's ridiculous and extremely unprofessional! I didn't get an apology and no one had any urgency to keep me as a new customer...I guess this establishment did great during covid and doesn't need new customers.
