Unfortunately, I left feeling completely disappointed and more stressed than relaxed. I went on a Monday morning hoping to avoid crowds and have a peaceful day. Things started off on the wrong foot almost immediately. While I was simply checking the size of the uniform, holding it up to see if there was a difference in the width, an employee came over and snatched the second pair out of my hand as if I was trying to take something I shouldn't have. It was not a great way to start when I had barely gotten in the door. Next, the layout was also really confusing. The spa is spread across multiple floors with different sections and stairways, but no one explained where anything was or how to navigate the space. I spent a lot of time in the morning trying to figure out where I was and it felt like I was nosing around someone else's house: uncomfortable. The biggest issue, though, was communication. A woman in the locker room offered my niece and me a deal for two massages for $140 ($70 each) and asked me to send the money through Zelle. I sent $170, including what I thought was a generous tip of over 20%. She arranged the appointment, but I didn't confirm what type of massage I wanted. I foolishly assumed they would ask before starting. We had lunch beforehand - the food was delicious and the portion was huge. Unfortunately, they don't offer to-go boxes, so I needed to reschedule our massages in order to finish my meal. Before even finishing my meal, I went to the massage counter to see if we reschedule our appointments. A younger patron helped translate at the massage desk, but she needed my time slot and took it for herself. She told me the woman would help me reschedule and then left. When I tried to figure out my new time, the interaction felt rushed and dismissive. I was given time without being asked if it worked for me, and when I asked about other options, I was told there were none. I would have cancelled but had already paid, so I took the L. When it was finally time for the massage, we were taken back without anyone asking what type of massage we wanted. I realized my mistake because it was a much more intense massage style and is not my preference. At that point though, after so many rushed and uncomfortable interactions, I honestly didn't feel comfortable advocating for myself to tell them I wanted reflexology. The final issue happened while I was changing before leaving. The same woman who arranged the massage came over and told me I hadn't paid enough tip. I was confused because... it was a tip. She told me I owed another $20 and (to add insult to injury) that I couldn't get my license back from the front desk until I paid. That brought the tip to over 35% on a service I didn't choose and didn't enjoy. I came to King Spa looking for rest and relaxation, but instead left feeling like I had spent my hard-earned money somewhere that never quite felt comfortable and certainly not welcomed.

Linda was my masseuse but failed to heed my yelps of pain when she kept digging her elbow into my lumbo-sacral area. It was painful without response. Perhaps, she couldn't understand my English. I have had myriad massages over the years (from Aruba to Hawaii) and this was among the worst. Third, it was a partial massage. Although it was a 60-minute massage (much of it with discomfort), I was never turned over on my back to massage my upper arms, shins, ankles, collarbone and shoulders. Sunday I went noon to 3pm busy crowd. Two steam rooms, both busy with action, and I mean everything was going on. A number of large rooms you can use for privacy. About 14 showers and lots of washing area. Two bathrooms. And two smaller rooms. I will go back, the age and race range is all over the board. I would say from 21 to 75. Soap in the showers, but bring your own lube rubbers if you plan to play some more.

They sell pre-packaged Ramen bowls for $10. The facilities are simple and cozy -- a lounge area with lockers, couches, and a tv, a bathroom, a 'sleeping' room, as well as a wet area that includes an open shower area and a steam room. The co-ed section is even more cozy -- two saunas and a small lounge. On the day I visited, I found my fellow spa-goers to be friendly and open, and from what I gathered from chatting with folks, that seems to be the norm. I'll certainly be back at some point.

I am taking the time to write this review because it's either so bad or so good. This place gets…read morethe latter accolade. I wish I can keep this gem all to myself but then I thought why not share the love and promote supporting local businesses such as this massage place. Don't be misled by the current storefront name "Moonlight Spa." It's legit and no-nonsense spa that really does the service impeccably and the place immaculate. Front-desk: Cindy or Jordan in the front does not push for services. I personally love the hospitality and no frills kind of welcome I get and the nice gesture of their offering of room temp Poland Spring water post-massage. It's no Pelligrino but hey in Asian culture you should not shock your system with cold water especially after a massage. Massage: I like the deep and hard tissue massage thrice in this place so far usually by older women and they are strong and know where to dig through your knots. Being in a cavewoman posture and hands tingling pins and needles from my "desk" job, I find relief with their technique -- it's like they know where to ease the pain and address my pressure points. All in all I feel like a pretzel from the massage and I sleep like a baby that night afterwards. Of course, you can request them to go deep or go light with the massage! I find them very attentive. Place: It's accessible by public transpo (there's Uber, too). I like to be on peds though, you'll pass by local shops regardless which direction you are coming from.
