BEWARE of this location as far as tipping goes! My experience was nothing compared to a woman next to me at the front desk. When I told the young lady I wanted to tip $10.00, the amount on the machine was $10.80. I was told the 80 cents was a "convenience fee". When the woman next to me heard me stating that it was BS that I had to pay that charge, she shared with me her experience: She is a "member" so her monthly visits are at a reduced price. However, when asked how much she wants to tip she always gives 20 percent. She has discovered that they are calculating that 20 percent based on the FULL charge of the service, not the amount a member pays! She stated she thinks she should contact an attorney to file a class action lawsuit so she can get her money back. read more

I have waited months to write this review in the hopes that my experience would improve but after being a member since early 2020 here I have had enough. I don't think I have ever been satisfied with a treatment here. Sometimes I leave the appointments thinking if the massage therapist I just saw was ever trained! Yesterday I had a massage with an older woman who did not massage my lower back once. It was all weird motions on my upper back , not even my neck. She did not ask for my pressure preference. She used WAY too much oil (this happens frequently here) and the oil is such bad quality - its so thick!! Halfway thru the massage she decided to put latex gloves on. I have no idea why - I am not allergic to latex but I have very sensitive skin so had I known this would be happening I would have asked for a different option. I mainly use my membership for massages monthly but I have a few to use so I decided to get a facial too in April of this year. The gal who does facials here (I had her one other time before too) is super pushy. She looks at your skin and tells you what you need. She didn't ask many questions about my face so I explained to her I had Accutane 2+ years ago and my face has always been super sensitive. She continued to push extra charges and kept telling me I need "this or that". It became so uncomfortable for me. She would apply and then wash all the dishes in the skin loudly. Or apply and sit quietly. It was so weird. for the next two weeks after I had severe breakouts of tiny little whitehead pimples all over my face - in areas I never get breakouts. The place is really clean & sanitary, smells good (and not too strong), and theu have friendly staff too! The environment is calm and peaceful. They offer facials and massages but I've only tried getting a massage here. The massage usually takes about an hour, and the masseuse usually asks which areas of your body you think they need to massage and areas to avoid if any prior to starting. This was my first time here. When I checked in for my appointment I was asked if I wanted any refreshments which was nice, I only waited 2 minutes until I was called. The massage was amazing, they had hot wet towels to wipe down afterwards, the thing I did not like which makes me not want to go again is them pressuring me to create a membership. And while having the massage, I couldn't relax all the way because I could hear all the doors slamming and people laughing in the hallway, the room next to me kept making banging noises. The one star is not for their service because Keta is very good at her job. I have been coming to that location (Pembroke Pines) for a while, and never had to complete forms before the service was performed. However, recently, I was told that forms had to be completed regarding some bullcrap. possibly because they were afraid of getting sued or probably had already been sued. I told them if I completed this first time I should not have to complete it again, they can just keep it in my file. The next time I came for service, no one asked me to complete the form, so I figured that they did what I asked. On February 28 I went there for service and was asked to complete the same freaking form again. I have neuropathy in my fingers and every time I have to be on any type of computer. It bothers my fingers. So, if I completed that form, and then had my massage, it would not have helped me because of my neuropathy . So I canceled my service because Hand & Stone went to the extreme fear of getting sued by someone. The form should just have to be filled out once and kept in a person's file. I could not wait to leave a review about my amazing experience with Samantha. I will be to first to admit that I never really find facials to be relaxing, I kinda do them because I want to keep my skin in tip top shape. So when I came in today, I was just expecting to receive the standard, run of the mill facial. Not with Samantha. My facial was by far the most relaxing experience I have ever had. She was super detailed and gave me the 5-star treatment that I have not experienced at hand and stone before. Even during my extractions, which is everyone's least favorite part about a facial, she was so gentle and I didn't fill a bit of pain (which again has never happened to me, I usually always feel some sort of discomfort during them). I can never say no to a good massage, especially as I get older and random body parts start to ache a little (or a lot) more than usual. My husband got me a 3 month membership for Christmas last year and it was a gift well used! I always get a Swedish massage for 50 minutes but they provide upgraded services such as hot stone massages and longer time slot appointments. They also do facials, but I've never used that service. My all time favorite masseuse there is Lashaye. I've experienced 2 other masseuses, but no one beats Lashaye. She understands the body, what it wants, and I always leave feeling relaxed, rejuvenated, and satisfied. As for COVID precautions, they have you sign a waiver stating that you haven't experienced any symptoms within the last 48 hours. At this point in time, I think it's optional to wear a mask, but every time I've gone, the masseuse has worn a mask and gloves, which makes me feel safe. At the end of my gift card membership, I ended up buying a month to month membership, because why not treat yourself! I pay 69.95 a month, and if I ever want to upgrade anything I would just have to pay the difference for the upgraded service. Stop trying to charge me for services I do not use!!! I literally called months ago to cancel my membership back in January and you guys keep trying to charge my card! One transaction of $79.99 was charged to my card yesterday and another charge of the same amount was attempted today but was declined! As soon as that charge from yesterday is posted I will be contacting my bank to have the charged disputed because my membership was canceled months ago!! You people at the Pines location are money hungry thieves!! I went in and saw Leah one day last month for all of FIVE MINUTES and the girl at front asked me if I want to pay with cash or card and I asked what am I paying for when I didn't get a service. The girl then pressured me to leave a tip for Leah and when I finally agreed to do so, she showed me a screen that said I did a service that costed $150 and was asking for a tip based on a $150 service. How do you say it was a $150 when I simply spoke to her for five minutes??? You people are the biggest thieves on Earth! Money hungry frauds! And it has nothing to do with Leah at all, it's about management and those airheads working at the front desk! read more

So I wasn't quite sure how I felt about my whole experience, so since I am in between I'll go with a 3. The Pros: * The young lady who took our appointment ,Christine, was very nice and accommodating and honestly why I am giving them a 3. She went out of her way in keeping our appointments (I'll explain in the con) and making us feel welcomed. Honestly if I ever come back, it'll be because of her. * That's literally the only pro I can think of right now. The Cons: * We made our appointments let's say on a Wednesday. I don't really remember but it was a Wednesday or Thursday. I was looking to make an appointment for 3 facials. After calling numerous other places, Hand and Stone was able to accommodate two at 2 and 1 at 1:30. Perfect. It was close enough. The next day my cousin gets a voicemail (I won't name names) letting her know that they need to move her appointment to 3:15 and that she wouldn't move it until my cousin called to confirm. I read the voicemail myself. However when I called and luckily got Christine again, it was already moved to 3:15 without confirmation that that time was fine. So much for not changing it until she received confirmation. Not to mention, when do we not communicate with our coworkers before just moving something. Like do coworkers not communicate anymore? Luckily Christine went and spoke with the individual and all was well. * As for the facial itself, if you regularly see an esthetician and not one at a massage spa you know this isn't a real facial. It is more of a face massage which if that is what you need at the moment then this is perfect for you. As for me, I'd like a face massage after you've done what I paid you to do and not as the service I paid you to do. The "classic" supposedly includes extractions yet my esthetician (again I won't name names) literally took about 2 seconds to do. Which if I am being perfectly honest, I am glad she only took 2 seconds. The way she was pushing this tool into face so hard, I literally was flinching and moving away from the tool. Like girl there is feeling in my face in case you forgot. Aside from the "extractions" there was a scrub used but everything else was just not what I am used to when I go get a facial from my esthetician; even a "classic" one. When I left my face was oily, my neck was oily and my arms were oily as they were massaged too. However it is what you would expect when coming to a massage spa. At any rate, I am glad that we had this experience because moving forward we will just wait for each other to be done using my esthetician should we have a girls day like this again. First visit here and I stumbled across this spa in a very well known shopping center. They have an introductory price for hour long facial or massage for $49.95 you could also do a Hot Stone massage for $69.95. I chose to go with the 1 hour classic facial. (The one included in the offer) keep In mind you can upgrade if you'd like. First impression very nice place. They greeted me and offered water or coconut water. The coconut water is delish BTW. Since I was a first time visiter they called me and asked for me to come in 10 minutes before my scheduled appointment to fill out some paperwork. In no time my esthetician Griselle came and Greeted me to a private room. Very dim lighted relaxing atmosphere once you enter the spa. She took me to a room where they offer you a tube top robe and asked about what your skin expectations are and the basics, cleansed my face and gave me an examination of what she found on my skin and what needed to be done. I ended up upgrading to the Detox facial (due to me not having a facial in years) $20 up-charge. The facial was really good. She explained what she was doing and for what and gave a really nice hand massage as well. Overall very pleasant experience. They of course have specific brands they work with that they try to get you to start using. I personally have something in place but I was offered some samples to see if it would be something that worked for me. I believe they use Clarity and Dermalogica Like many spas they over a membership program where your able to play a flat fee of I believe $60 and every month you get a One Hour Facial or a One Hour Massage. I've heard of it plenty of times but it was my actual first time here and my first ever getting a massage with hot stones. the staff is really friendly when you walk in, everything is really cleaned and well put together. i love how they enforce the 6 feet apart in the waiting area. I did the couples hot stone massage. due to covid we weren't able to go in together which is fine, the hot stone were beyond good. i love that hot feeling especially since i was having back problems. the music is so relaxing! i love everything!!! i scheduled my next appointment and i'm evicted to try their facials. read more

I called to cancel because I clearly do not want the service and now I have to wait (at this point is been almost a week) mean while the 30 day cancellation window is still open waiting for this "manager" to call me back so I can get the form. This has been by far the worst massage experience and I've had many massages! Let me help paint a picture, a hard working couple of 4 girls finally find the time to be able to experience what should have been a lovely reset, a massage to help alleviate pain, stress and bring some relaxation to our busy day to day life. So my husband is a weightlifter and as you can imagine a deep tissue massage is needed with lots of focus on the lower back and glutes. To his disappointment upon the start of his massage the elderly woman performing his massage advised I don't do firm then proceeds to say I also don't do glutes nor lower back. I mean we fill out the form asking what is the reason for your visit, where do you need focus on. I can't believe after reviewing that the elderly woman would not advise the front that she is unable to perform any of what he is looking for! Seriously! What a waste of time and horrible experience, we never go to get a massage to just have oil rubbed on our body, we like firm pressure and deep tissue to help with the tightness. Honestly if you can't do that how are you even a massage therapist. The frustrating part is the girl at the front desk even verbally came and asked him again do you want them to massage your glutes? "Oh yesss!" He told her. My massage was mediocre. I've had annual massage memberships with Massage Green Spa (they are amazing btw) as well as a membership with Hand and Stone but in the Weston location so I've got experience and understand the typical flow of a massage. There were so many moments where it seemed like he was in slow motion or would just stop as if he was milking the clock. My hands were never even massaged, nor my glutes, and hardly my lower back. The second issue is related to payment. My husband received a gift card from his mother for Christmas last year and we were aware it expires after 1 year so we knew this month was the last chance to use it. Little did we know she had purchased it at the end of November, (no date is listed on the card or envelope) We did not find out until after our massage that the card had just expired a few weeks back. And I quote, "I did not want to disturb your services" I have a feeling that she knew prior to us being called back as we arrived 25 minutes early and I gave her the gift card prior to filling out the forms on the tablet. I feel she was expecting we would instead pay for the massage without any pushback. I had to ask multiple times if there was something that could be done as that gift card was the only reason we even came to Hand and Stone and this location. Finally she called her manager which was able to advise she could change the date on the gift card so it could still be used. My bf scheduled a couples massage for us. Our appointment was at 1:00pm .. they did not walk us back to the room until 1:10. We changed in the room which maybe took 5 mins. My massage was great overall , when the masseuse finished and walked out of the room I checked my phone and it was 1:58. I'm a little confused how they were 10 mins late to start our session and 2 mins early to finish. Total rip off and won't be getting any monthly membership there. STAY AWAY!! at least until they get a new staff. from beginning to end this experience was by far the worst massage of my life. i have been to this location many times before but they must have changed the training and development of the staff or their expectations are not being enforced but this was unacceptable. from the moment i walked in the door i was not properly greeted. about 5 minutes goes by before i was acknowledged with not even a welcome or how can i help you. just a "hi do you have an appointment." after the start of my session, i could hear everything going on outside of the therapy room. from employees speaking well above what i would consider to be an "inside voice". doors being slammed shut. movement of furniture. conversations in other rooms. literally you name it and i heard it outside the room. i expressed my concern with my therapist twice and she raised the volume of the music in the room in attempt to drown out the outside noises but it did not work. if she would have turned the music any louder my ears mightve burst. at the end of my session when i asked to speak with management about my experience, they sent in a shift lead or something of the sort that could do nothing to compensate me for my terrible experience. i spent the two hours of my session trying to calm my nerves and think of a calm and respectable manner to address this issue. i have zero intentions of ever returning to this location. they need a full retraining and development program. this location needs to be reminded of the policies procedures and expectations of their roles to better the environment for customer experience. my therapist on the other hand was AMAZING! Julija was by far my best therapist ever. she did a great job at listening and addressing my needs as well as my concerns. her level of professionalism is top tier, along with her skills. the customer service by there front desk staff is piss poor especially in addressing customer concerns. this has tainted my image of this location that i used to love coming too for all my relaxation needs. from the attitudes, to the lack of care for customers, and noisy atmosphere. if i could have left zero stars i would have. read more

The sound throughout was serene and peaceful. I must say my masseuse Reniesha has some blessed hands she was amazing. Her hands were magical. So this was my first professional massage and no doubt my back/neck pain was gone after my massage BUT i still was disappointed in the service. I got a birthday 1hour massage from a close friend as a gift, my massage appointment was 2pm. I filled out all paperwork a day before, even got to my appointment 20minutes early. I wasnt called to the back until 2:15. when the massage was done & i was told to dress and i picked up my phone it was 2:50. Her hands are wonders. In addition, I had a facial on Friday and was content as well. The services itself are fantastic. Also, the spa is very clean and relaxing. On the other hand, I'm a bit disappointed with a few things. 1. I did not like the fact that after (2) full priced services, you HAVE to enroll in the membership which is $65. I don't want to enroll as I am not always wanting a massage. I don't mind paying full priced when I decide to get a service done. I was told I can no longer come back unless I enroll in the membership. 2. I had a facial done this past Friday which was amazing. BUT, I was charged for a facial + a $20 up charge for "sensitive skin". Not everyone's skin type is the same. The people here are crooks. I canceled my membership including signing the paperwork and sending it on May 28. I even received a "You have signed the membership termination" email with a copy of my signed termination agreement. They kept charging me. I had opted out of emails from the company a while back so wasn't getting the emails that they were charging my card. Finally I saw the charges and called the location to fix the issue. It was apparently an oversight on their part and I received a refund for those months, and a verbal promise that this wouldn't happen again. I would not write a negative review for a corrected oversight except I was just charged for TWO MORE MONTHS only two days apart (Oct 30 and Nov 1). Not only did they not correct the oversight, but I'm being charged even more times than a monthly membership would be charged. DO NOT sign up for the monthly membership; they are either incompetent or they are thieves and you will never get out of it. I have begun to file complaints with corporate about this location's fraudulent business practices. read more

I booked a massage for my boyfriend and I back a few months ago. We made our appointment about 10 minutes early , check in and everything went smoothly. We then were told we had to fill out a stupid form that ended up taking a whole extra 10 to 15 minutes. And then they walked us back to two separate rooms, mind you it's a couples massage. If I wanted to pay for a massage to get done alone I would've done so, but we ended up in two separate rooms. And then the masseuse that I had was barely applying pressure, more like rubbing me down. I asked her to apply more pressure but it seemed as if she were scared too. And after they started us late, we both ended up coming out 15 minutes before the hour was even over. It was very disappointing and unorganized. They apologized about the experience since we didn't get our couples massage together. Choosing a professional spa that provides quality massages is hard to do, especially with some of the horror stories you hear. However after a lot of research I chose Hand and Stone Spa for my couples massage. It was the perfect decision! They literally tailored the entire massage to my husband and I's needs. I recently began kickboxing and I wanted the focus to be on my lower back, arms and quads. My husband wanted to focus on his upper back and inner thighs. With all of our random areas, I was concerned our 2 attendants wouldn't be able to address them all in one massage session. Boy was I wrong. We were blown away. Not only were our focus areas well covered but our attendants paid specific attention to other areas in our muscles where they felt tension. Our 90 minute session was totally relaxing and extremely detailed. Our private room was softly lit. Our beds were warm and cozy. Then I decided to become a member and try the massages and by far Nina is awesome with her massages, pressure points, and stretches therefore, now that I have been a member for the last year, this is my go to place for self-care because they have proven that they have people who can provide a great service so YES, I recommend highly!!! read more

Hector was my massage therapist, he was by far the worst. He didn't even listen to anything I had asked him to do. The pressure was super soft, even though I asked him "medium to firm". All he did was rub oil on me. There were times that it felt like he fell asleep (not moving for a few seconds). I asked to concentrate on my shoulders and neck area because I have a lot of tensions there. Do you think he spent any time there? Of course not. He did what he wanted not what I asked. Honestly, I give better massages than him. You'd think as a massage therapist, he would know how to massage the muscles. This is my fourth time coming to this place and every single therapist sucked.
