The staff here are friendly and attentive. When you check in for appointments, they ensure to ask if you'd want the technician to wear a mask or not. Walk ins are also taken. They offer a variety of massages. Swedish, Deep Tissue, Sports, Hot Stone, Trigger Point, Prenatal, Himalayan Salt Stone, Decompression Therapy a d Couples. My go to is the Deep Tissue. As far as the facials, they also offer a variety of facials. Detox, Anti-aging, Teen, Rejuvenation, Sensitive Skin, Rosacea Lactic Peel, Glycolic, Led Skin Phototherapy Treatment, Microdermabrasion, Dermal-infusion, Mens and Classical. I spend most all my time with getting a massage. I have gotten the Mens facial and it was just as relaxing as a massage. Skin was feeling pretty pretty pretty good afterwards. Aside from massages and facials, Hand and Stone offer other treatments. Cryoskin body trimming and toning, Facial Toning, and Hair Removal. After you check in, your technician gets you walks you to the room. They'll discuss the session with you. It's sort of your time to ask questions about the massage. Or the tech might ask you a question. For example, the tech might ask, "Any place in particular you'd want the session to be focused on" Once all is gone over and discussed, you'll be give the time to dress down. Lay face down on table. The Door knocks... the relaxing begins. 5 mins later lol, you're done. I say 5 mins because it's never enough. It's just that enjoyable. I love Hand and Stone. Hand and Stone is a chain company but I really like this one in Windermere. The staff is always friendly, its clean and very tranquil. They offer facials and massages. I had a massage once and did not have a good experience, there was too much pressure for my back and really did not enjoy it. However, I enjoy the facials so much that my husband and I joined and get one once a month. They have a nice waiting room with smooth tranquil running water. It starts the peaceful experience out. You can reserve the same technicians if they are available which if you book ahead of time you can get the same person. After your technician gets you, they go over your plan with you what they will do and if there is anything you want to order. For the facials, they have you change and lay on a nice warm heated table. They clean your face and then whichever facial you chose. I really enjoy the CBD facial, it calms your skin and makes your face look so smooth and fresh. I have had many different technicians' and I have loved every single one of them. I would highly recommend giving them a try. I cant really speak for the massages, as I only had one and did not enjoy it, but my husband does them monthly and absolutely loves them. I have been getting massages at this location for the past few months and all of the ladies I've received services from have been wonderful. My most recent massage was with Angela and she was incredible. I suffer from migraines and have tried acupuncture, craniosacral therapy, all the works but nothing has given me as much relief as the work she did. I have gotten so used to having tension in my neck/ head that I forgot what it feels like to not have any. I would highly recommend her services for anyone that suffers from migraine headaches or just wants a great massage! Had terrible costumer service regarding my cancellation contract. Contract states that you have 90 days upon "Submission of Written Notice of Termination Form" which I submitted on 11/2. Upon my massage today, I am told that I have no packages as they terminated on the 1st of January. To my frustration I lost all of the previous packages and had to pay extra for a massage. The "90 day grace period" as written ON THE CONTRACT is a complete lie. They said "I'm sorry, there's nothing we can do." Unfortunately all of the massage therapists were fantastic, but they totally ripped me off. Looks like I'm not the only one with this issue as I have seen similar reviews. read more

I was first introduced to Hand & Stone as a gift from a friend. They gave me the option of choosing either a one-hour massage or facial, to which I chose the facial. After asking the front desk about the most popular estheticians, I booked my appointment with Destiny. Destiny is fantastic. She is very knowledgeable about the services and products, and talks you through after and preventative care. I actually became a member of H&S after my first appointment with Destiny. As far as the reception staff, they are always very pleasant and accommodating. I truly started taking my self-care more seriously after becoming a member here. I recently received another gift card here as a Christmas gift, and I am SO excited to use it. Don't even bother coming here. They had some good masseuses but they all tend to leave pretty quickly. They don't take into consideration pregnant women and make you use their 2 times per year 3 month pause policy during your first 3 months of pregnancy. The prenatal massages are pretty bad too and they don't care about how long you have been a member with them. I've been seeing them for 2.5 years and they rather i cancel my membership than pause it until I've had my baby and have recovered from my c section. Also members just so you know apparently you accumulate points, which is something NOONE ever shared with my husband or I ( who are both members). These points are for upgrades or free massages, but since I cancelled my membership I lost my points. I would've absolutely loved to have used these points for upgrades throughout the years or the free massage that I had gained, but they don't bother to tell you these things ever, so we just lost the points/benefits. They said there's a 90 day policy to use them in the form they tell you to casually sign but don't verbally tell you. Management wouldn't comp a single session or give any money back. I've had Hand And Stone membership for a few years now and I generally go to the Dr. Phillips location, but now that I'm living in Winter Garden this location is a lot closer to me. I'm particular when it comes to my massages and it's always difficult to find someone that is truly awesome. But Stephanie at this location is amazing! If you're someone that likes a lot of pressure and are really looking to get rid of any pain, she is your girl! I am a teacher so I'm on my feet all the time and always have aches and pains. I've never had a massage at a franchisee location like this before, only at full spas and usually while on vacation. My husband gifted me with a couple's massage here to celebrate 5 years of being together, and I truly did not know what to expect. We were advised to arrive at least 15 minutes early to fill out our medical paperwork/release forms. The lobby area is small, but inviting, and has a few amenities in the waiting area (water, mints, and chocolates). Our masseuses came to greet us shortly after our arrival and they were both attentive and accommodating. The treatment rooms were small, but functional. Hotel and day spas really evoke a feeling of serenity everywhere you turn, with aromatherapy wafting through the halls and gentle music; Hand & Stone lacked this, but once my eyes were closed and my masseuse went to work, it really didn't matter. All in all, this was a very functional way to remove some tension and relax close to home. It's also much more affordable than the spas I've experienced on vacation. Making an appointment is usually pretty easy - except for around the holidays. The front desk staff are always welcoming, and I usually ask for a menu to see if I want to pick any add ons for my massage. My favorites are the peppermint scalp massage (relaxing and leaves your hair smelling like peppermint) or the Himalayan hot stone massage upgrade (soothes my sore muscles). I have not had a facial here, so this review is purely on the massage services. Jen is the best. She always takes the time to ask me if there have been any changes in my history or areas that need a little attention (or to stay away from). Apparently it costs a lot of money to stop the membership so I haven't done it yet. I have 5 massages accrued and finally got them to put my account on hold for a few months. Today, I visited the Windermere location and it was by far the worst massage I've ever had. Maria, I'm sorry, but you do not know what you are doing. She was jumping all around my body and it felt like she was just rubbing on lotion (wayyy too much lotion). She would rub my lower back then go and squeeze my neck...absolutely no flow. She would do one motion on my right side and another on my left. I told her I needed the majority of the focus on my very tight back and it seemed like she completely ignored that direction. I left not feeling any better than I did before but with so much grease it stained on my car seat. She did not ask about pressure, she did not offer a towel afterwards, and she was chewing on something the whole 50 min. Windermere I hope you look into the people on your staff.... Unfortunately I will be back to redeem my credits and I really hope that next time will actually bring me some relief. read more

I've been visiting this location for the last year. Every time I go, I'm greeted with a smile, and feel welcomed. My massage therapist is able to pick up our conversation from the last visit, and it's like I just saw her the night before. It's comforting to know that she understands me and is able to meet my needs for a massage. I carry all my stress in my shoulders, and she's the first person in YEARS who is able to make me feel totally relaxed and feel like my muscle tension is gone too. I bought a 90 min massage and they told my husband when he arrived that he could only do an hour. Logically thinking, who is going to go back for a 30 minute massage? When there's somebody who's busy and spends all his time working, the least we can do is offer him an experience to relax and enjoy and they couldn't even honor that. It's been some time since I had a massage club membership, but the opening of Hand and Stone in Windermere made me cave in almost immediately. This place is so conveniently located, super fresh and new, and the entire staff has been nothing but wonderful. I've had a number of therapist work on me in the past 5 or so months, but huge shoutout to Sonia and Tarasheka. They, as well as other therapists, have helped me with my chronic low back issues, sciatica, as well as my tight, slightly rolled forward shoulders. I'm not the easiest client, and by that, I mean that I have a number of issues that need a lot of work and a lot of specific pressure, and I've been treated so well at this location. The number one tip would be to make sure to communicate clearly and specifically with your therapist. When making an appointment, ask the front desk for someone with "deep pressure" or "long strokes" or whatever it is you're looking to get out of your massage. But what truly sets this location apart for me is my superstar massage therapist, Jen G. I have disc herniation in the neck and back, shoulder issues, leg stiffness...you name it. I always (ALWAYS) leave better than when I arrived. Jen knows precisely the right trigger points to unravel my knots and improve my mobility. I book way ahead each month because she is so popular. Today I decided to risk it for the biscuit and try a New massage therapist... Again. And I have to say, Lauren did a phenomenal job. She definitely pampered me and I felt so relaxed. Not only did Lauren give me the best massage, But she also made me feel very comfortable about my skin disorder. Every other massage therapist that I've had at this location, have made me feel insecure about my skin disorder. It all started with a gift certificate during the holiday season many years ago. When I walked out of that one massage they asked if I wanted to become a member and pay monthly for massage. As insane as that first sounded, it's actually cheaper to do it that way. For almost a decade I pay about 50 bucks a month and have one massage a month. You add up points when you do things like book the next appointment at the time of service and other items like that. These points add up to an extra massage or add on services. I have also visited the Clermont location as well as the Hunters Creek location. This one is in Windemere. All have been exceptional. I have absolutely zero bad things to say about this location. My normal massage therapist is excellent and the one I had last night was just as incredible. They're very knowledgeable about muscles and why things are hurting the way they are. I honestly think having a regular massage each month has kept some other health problems down and has made hospital visits few and far between. The only weird thing about this place is that most places have chairs with signs say say don't sit here. Their chairs actually are socially distance but have a sign that says sit here so you actually sit on the chair that has a sign on the back which is just odd to me. read more

I have been with hand and stone for a couple months now and I'm always blown away with their customer service. Recently I didn't receive the reminder and had to rearrange and they were very understanding. I also called once to book with my favorite person Lauren and she was booked for months. The next day I received a call because the receptionist remembered I was bummed and she just had a cancellation and asked if I wanted it. They go above and beyond!! Also, Lauren is one amazing masseuse! She understands the body and really listens to your needs. She also pays attention to the triggers your body gives off and does what she needs to do to provide relief. She's always so happy and genuinely loves her job. She treats me as if I'm the only client she has seen all day which I value greatly! Thank you Lauren and her team for all they do to provide this mom of three some serious "me time"!!! read more

I went in to buy a gift card for the advertised price. I was told no, we will not sell you a gift card at the advertised price. I showed them the web site and I was told it was wrong. I called the customer service number and conversation started nice. Then a second voice was on the line. The second person was way to forward, no customer service skills what so ever. Boarder line rude. She tried hard to let me know I was wrong. Turns out advertised price was for introductory offer. They will not sell me a gift card at that price. It would have been for a first time guest but they refused the sale. How I was handled was wrong. They were uneducated on policy at the front desk, and horrible on the phone. I went down the road to Massage Envy. They were very happy to take my money. I will make sure that everyone I know hears about Hand and Stone. read more

I went in today to purchase a gift certificate for a massage and walked out exasperated and shaking my head. Basically, you can buy services at a "guest" price or sign up to a monthly membership to get 1 massage a month and get a discount on ala carte services. I was told that you can sign up for 30 days and then cancel...ahh, but be careful here. After digging deeper it became clear that at the 30 day mark you have to let them know you intend to cancel and give 30 days notice. So the "one" month commitment the the young girl tried to sell me on is actually two months and makes your initial membership cost $119.98 and not $59.99. Very deceptive...at this point it's cheaper for me to just go to the Four Seasons and purchase a massage gift certificate and not deal with bs membership scams. read more

We booked over $500 in services. The amenities and service were poor. First, the bathroom amenities were identical to that at my local YMCA, nothing close to a resort spa. Second, the relaxation room is a Japanese themed tea room and relaxation room. Unless you like to relax sitting straight up, or on one of 4 lounge chairs made for an 8 year old, good luck getting comfortable and relaxing. BTW, I'm 5'9", not 6'5". Then there was, what the receptionist said was, complimentary wine, champagne, mimosas and soft drinks. I asked how to request a drink and she said to just ask one of the attendants in the "relaxation room". After sitting in the room (Sunday at noon) for 15 minutes and seeing no one (no attendants or customers) I went all the way back up to the receptionist to ask when I would see, and be able to order from, an attendant. She said that she would bring me a drink, which she did. I asked her how I might order a second drink (my massage was not for another 90 minutes). She said they limit drinks at 1, but I could order room service to the spa. I thought she was joking, but no! A resort spa that I'm dropping over $500 at limits me to one soft drink or wine? I have to add that while most resort spas will have fruit, juice, muffins, etc., this spa has....drumroll....lemon water, tea, coffee and some mix of sunflower seeds, raisins, bits of cashew and those weird orange colored rice crackers you get on airplanes. All in all, this was the worse resort spa I have been to. My message therapist was very nice, but several things. First, I orders a 50 minute message and I was not retrieved until 4 minutes after my message was to have begun. Second, I was asked if I filled out a card (preferences, medications, etc.). I had been there for several hours and it was never brought up...? So there goes another couple minutes. BTW, we ended right at 50 minutes from when it was supposed to have started. She gave a very light message, even with several suggestions to go apply more pressure. She was very nice, but I don't feel like I had a message. Finally, at checkout, there was no survey, as they said there would be, and they automatically apply a 20% gratuity. I questioned this, asking the receptionist why the customer gets no say in the gratuity. She said that it is company policy. read more

This is my favorite place to get facials! I for the longest time went to non-chain spas for facials but was given a gift card for hand and stone few months back. My first time I had Olivia and she is AMAZING. I have since gone to anyone who is available based on my schedule and I haven't had a bad experience. They are all very friendly and accommodating. The only down side, and you're going to face this at really any chain spa is they will always try and sell you the products they use. I have a couple times bought things I enjoyed but it will be an every time you visit thing. They aren't pushy, but they will have their suggestions waiting for you on the counter when you go to check out. read more

What a great place for a massage. My wife and I transferred our memberships to this location a few months back and love it. The friendly front desk staff make the experience so much better. We both get AMAZING massages each time we go. They always ask what areas we want them to focus on. And when they find pressure points that are bothering us they always manage to work out the kinks. I have tried the Swedish and Hot Stone massages so far and both were amazing. I usually prefer the 80 minute massage of time permits. They always ask us to book our next appointment before we leave. The first three were OK, just because she did not seem to listen to what worked and didn't work for me and just wanted to upsell some other service to me. My last facial, however was the best I've ever had. Kelsie really listened to me and took into consideration the skin type I had. Ever since her facial over a month ago, my skin has looked and felt great. I've had a membership, but had to cancel due to budgeting problems. I wanted to schedule a nice basic massage for my last service since i was in need of some relaxation. Let me tell you, that was THE WORST massage i have ever had in my life. I never had much soreness when i came in, but when i left i could barely move my back from so much pain. She was massaging my freaking bones and not my muscles. The whole time I cried, and she seemed to have no care for how the client was feeling. I hate to say this, but the only time I would come back would be for kelsie since she did an amazing job. Great customer service and great therapists. For a newer location they really have it together. The staff is so friendly and welcoming both in person and on the phone. I've even left my necklace there accidentally for a month, went overseas for a long vacation, and they still held on to it for me despite me not calling asking for it. If I was "just" rating the therapists I would give a couple 5*'s!! And there are a couple others that are good. Unfortunately several are not. But the receptionist staff - 3*'s at the most! They're nice enough just not helpful and/or thorough? They give "half" answers. Yes, most information is in the "contract" you sign at the beginning of your term but a business that cares about its members will "on occasion" remind you of what's in the contract... i.e. don't forget to use your points, etc. When they're not sure how to answer a question - they always use "the contract" as the answer. I think this is an easy cop-out answer. Customer service training is definitely needed. It's ok to do a little more for a client than tell them to refer to their contract. read more

My massage was good but time was cut shorter than 50 min that was book, thumbs down. Facial was okay, I did not like the aesthetician washing her equipment during my facial, it took away from the relaxation experience. Hearing dishes in your ear while you are trying to relax is like getting a facial in your kitchen while the housekeepers are cleaning! So for me it's a 3. Please do not shorten my massage time. We book for an hour but you are already taking 10 minutes for prep. Please do not wash you equipment during the facial, use the prep time for that. IJS read more
