So after searching for about 45 minutes, i realized that i kept passing it back in an industrial park off Meridian, behind the old Sears and WFC. The signs are not marked well and its connected to a game store. I walked in and was greeted by a very nice man who thoroughly explained how it works. They were actuallu closed but he was working late and allowed us to shop. Dont forgetvto bring exact change if possible. They dont carry change. So my boyfriend and i puchased 3 bags each with the intention on bringing them back to get an even better discount. My boyfriend isnt a shopper but he will join me to hang out. But he wemt crazy in this place. We had so much fun. The selection of clothing was very impressive and they had everything. We spent about an hour and a half there and scored with name brand clothing. I love this place and would like to even volunteer someday. Its a must on thrift deals. My only gripe are the hours open. Oh no, I was told they didn't have it this year, but I quickly found solace at the Craps table. Even though I had no idea how to play, I rolled the dice anyway. I made the festive table happy by throwing winning numbers after winning numbers. Now it was time for the highly-anticipated raffle dash (and you really must dash) for all the wonderful prizes-massages, restaurant, hotel stays, car repairs, coffee...something for everyone! Each game table was sponsored by a local business, the hotel prepared the tasty appetizer buffet and Costco provided the desserts. The MC shared some personal stories from the kids and what Blue Skies is all about. A fun evening out for a great cause. This event is suitable for couples as well as singles. The only thing missing was an Elvis impersonator. He would have felt right at home at this mini Vegas in Bellingham!

This event was so well organized, decorated, and had the funnest and friendliest staff to help us win big and have a great time for such a great cause! There were St. Patty's Day necklaces and headbands for fun to wear to add green to your outfit, delicious appetizers and desserts, full no host bar, and awesome volunteers making this event so much fun! The games tonight were Black Jack, Poker, and Craps. And I can't forget to mention the raffle dash! So many amazing prizes, gift certificates, wine & beer to run up and grab if your name is called. They also had big prizes for the top 5 "high roller winners" of the night. I had luck in winning a pair of free tickets from @Yelp Bellingham, who was also a sponsor for tonight's event. It pains me to write this review of what used to be one of my favorite stores. And I was a sad as…read moreanyone when I saw they had to close over a year ago due to a fire. And just as happy when they announced they'd found a new space and were planning to reopen. I have to say, having visited there a few times now, I'm pretty disappointed. The new space is still downtown, but a few blocks west of their previous location. Where parking was free at that spot, it's metered at this one. When I think of all the vacant retail spaces in town, many with parking lots or at least free street parking, it leaves me perplexed. And the new space itself is so incredibly small and disjointed. It's separated into multiple, small rooms. Their inventory is but a shadow of its former self. And the prices have gone up. Wayyyy up. Perhaps most perplexing is the complete lack of classroom space, which they'd gone to so much trouble to add in their own space. Combined all of this with semi-surly, N95'd employees and well... to put it simply...I don't see the appeal in returning here anytime soon. For now, I miss the old Ragfinery and hope they turn things around.

Visited this Goodwill location a few months ago…read more In short: the prices have gone up enough that it's almost not worth stopping by anymore. I'm sure rents have gone up and Goodwill is feeling the pinch like a lot of businesses/not for profits these days but when your closest competition is Value Village and your prices match or exceed VV's, that's a red flag to me. Our most recent visit was definitely our most disappointing one. I found a number of interesting looking games, two of which had multiple price stickers. These two were both card games and when I brought these to the attention of an employee I was told that the higher of the marked prices were the most recent. Each of those card games was priced at $10, which to me was ludicrous. On the other hand, large boxed games like Monopoly were less than that. Clothing was also more expensive than I'm used to in this shop and so I found very little of interest. The selection and quality varies widely as you might expect, so you never know what you're going to find. Plenty of parking out front and the staff were friendly enough.

Confession: this was my first Bigfoot Festival and, as a closet fan of everything sasquatch, I was sorta excited about it! It turns out the festival was a fundraiser for some improvements to a nearby park, more than an informational or even entertainment-oriented gathering about that mysterious, tall, hairy beast that is said to roam the nearby forests. There were a ton of really cute art booths, many featuring bigfoot-related items, as well as a coloring contest for the kids and a musical stage (although we were there for an hour and never heard a note of live music). There were a few food booths, but the lines were long so we didn't partake. We kept wandering around hoping we'd find a beer garden to help us cool off but, sadly, there wasn't a beer in sight. This might have been the first year for the festival, so maybe they'll make some improvements to make it more fun the next time around. I love a good art fair, but having more squatch-related info/entertainment, some music, and music would have made it worth returning another time.
