Nothing flashy, in fact it feels like a cold and industrial space with limited colors and decor. The menu is posted above the order counter. The staff will give you samples of whatever flavors you want to try The staff were friendly and helpful. We got our samples and orders in a timely manner Some tips: You can order to-go and even order through delivery services like DoorDash They have ice cream by the cup, cone, shakes, sorbets, sundaes, etc. they also have an overran flight if you want to try 4 different flavors Feedback to the store: It would be more appealing to allow you to mix and match flavors when you're getting even the small because it's a lot of scoops, and my whole group likes the flavors we landed on, but we all agreed it was too much of one flavor Someone in our group got brownie bits on their Sunday and mentioned that there were toppings, but we couldn't see any posted anywhere. If toppings are an option it would be great to see what is available and pricing Also, I don't know if it was the ice cream consistency, but my small looked so much smaller than everyone else's. Theirs were visibly stocked scoops of three and mine looked like a pathetic squat one scoop. They have a vast menu of flavors... there's at least one flavor anyone would be able to enjoy. I opted for mint chocolate chip. It met my standards. Had the classic refreshing mint flavor I was looking for and didn't taste overly sweet. Had the right amount of chocolate chips. Very heavy scoop which is always a treat. Came to this local ice cream shop tonight for a sweet treat and boy was it a treat! They had 48 different flavors to offer with even seasonal specials. Went with two of the more classic flavors tonight. Ooo dough and vanilla with Oreo. Delicious! Additionally, I had a chance to meet the owner Matt. He was a very friendly guy and was very hospitable. Handel's is the best over cream shop by far! I took my grandaughter after a day together and she loved it. This is our second Handel's experience and we were not disappointed. The service was great. There was an issue with my order as the ice cream had chocolate in it...not obvious by the name. I have a severe sensitivity to caffeine and they gladly offered me an exchange. My friend and I both just enjoyed a nice dinner at North intalia Katy, went over to Handles to grab dessert, there was a little bit of weight time which is okay, once we made it up to the front of the line, the blonde girl that was supposed to take in our Order did have an attitude, any questions we asked, she just pointed towards the menu and had a annoyed look on her face, we asked to try to samples as this was our first time visiting handles, the lady had an attitude when asked for a sample, she did not care to greet us, the entire transaction we had with her since the moment we walked up to the line up until we paid for our ice cream cones was horrible, she seemed very annoyed, like she did not want to be there, my friend, and I both left with her ice cream cones in hand, disheartened on the customer service, the ambience was decent. This is probably some of the best ice cream I have ever had. First of all you walk in and everyone is so nice. Then you can taste any of the flavors you want and there are so many, it's hard to choose. So we tried the banana cream pie and the buckeye ones and all I can say is wow!!! The ice cream is so soft and very tasty. They do not skimp on the size or flavor. So a regular medium is 2 scoops and a large is 3 scoops, The only issue I had was no seating. They have some small benches along the wall, which aren't very comfortable or for larger people. They do have outside seating. I would highly recommend this amazing dessert stop, run don't walk. I don't know what I was expecting, but whatever it was, I was blown away when I actually went! First of all, get the small. The small is definitely plenty of ice cream, even to share. When they say they give you a lot, they really do give you A LOT. They have so many different flavors to try and yes you can ask for samples. They had a nice banana foster and some chocolate flavors that were delicious. I just can't get over how much they give you! They have all the cone offerings that you can want - cup come, sugar cone, waffle cones, and waffle bowl. They even come dipped if you wanted! The scoop sizes are bigger if you want a medium or large cone. There are also milkshakes, banana splits, ice cream sandwiches and other things to try! We loved our first visit here and can't wait to come back to try other flavors. The ice cream bases are pretty interesting in flavor and texture. I'm interested in the ingredients and what they do during the process of making the ice cream to make it different than others. The first thing I tasted...... well let me tell you the flavors I got. I ordered the mint chocolate chip ice cream- mint ice cream with chocolate flakes (it could use a lot more chocolate flakes) and the strawberry cheesecake chunk- Vanilla ice cream with strawberry swirl and chunks of cheesecake. The mint chocolate chip was refreshing. Mostly because it tastes like ice cream water or ice cream popsicle texture.The ice cream just wasn't creamy at all. It melts super quick. I am pleased that neither ice creams were very sweet. The strawberry cheesecake was good as the strawberry swirl and the cheesecake mask the flavor of the bland ice cream. My wife and I took a little road trip to try Handel's Homemade Icecream in Katy. My wife grew up in Youngstown, Ohio where the Original Handel's is! Just to compare to the original! While entering the store the was a father with 3 young children sitting at a table eating ice cream while he got his order and paid. Also 3 young lady's in front of us waiting for their turn next. There was only one young lady working behind the counter that we could see. She was very patient and helped the man finish his order and paid for his order. The next 3 young lady's each ordering separately got their ice cream. Then from the back room a young man came out and wiped under a mixer but never helped the young lady with the people in the store! My wife order was a waffle cone with 2 scoops one scoop of ice cream with buckeye's and one with butter pecan. I got the black cherry malt. They both were great and the young lady was very pleasant! My wife told her that she grew up on the Original Handel's back in Ohio and was very pleased with the ice cream and the way this young lady handled the customers with her beautiful smile! Only 2 negatives from me, the young man should had helped her when she was busy and the need a longer straws when you get the biggest malt! The straw was to little! I really enjoyed the ice cream tonight. It was delicious and I thought it was a great value. I have one suggestion though. If the scoopers would focus on quickness a bit more the line wouldn't get so backed up. The line grew until I had to asked for a pardon to get yothe door. I could feel frustration amongst the ice cream eaters. It was very frustrating watching the scoopers slowly scoop the ice cream while they're carrying on conversations with each other.
