I'm a competitive power lifter and I injuired my wrist. My surgeon strongly recommended Hands On Care as being one of the best hand/wrist specialists in the area. Everyone I encountered at the office was kind, warm, professional, and experienced. However, this review is for Jamie as she was my primary therapist. I'm so grateful I found her! After my first session, I saw immediate results! Every visit we'd try some new things to build on the previous week, I was 100% back to normal in a month. Her caring, well-balanced approach to therapy was exactly what I needed. Be patient with their office, they're very busy. It may take a few weeks to get the appointment, but it's absolutely worth it. In-Network Status Not Honored / Intentional Overbilling I am writing this to warn other parents--particularly those with HSA plans--about the billing practices at Hands On Care (Saba Kamal). Despite being listed as an in-network provider, this office overcharged my client by more than $600+ beyond the insurance-contracted rate. When the EOBs (Explanation of Benefits) confirmed the overpayment, the office refused to issue a refund. Most telling was the provider's own admission; when questioned about the overcharge, she stated: 'I cannot make money with the rates that Anthem allows me to charge. I would have to bill you for two visits.' This is a clear 'bait and switch' tactic. A provider cannot agree to in-network status to attract patients and then unilaterally decide to charge more than the contracted rate because they find it more profitable. We escalated this to the insurance carrier and filed a formal grievance. The insurance company ruled in our favor, yet Hands On Care still refuses to return the client's money. It is highly unethical to take advantage of parents trying to care for their children. Furthermore, the care plan was underwhelming, and my client eventually sought treatment elsewhere. I've had shoulder pain on and off for years. This last time it started up though it was just not going away like I'd usually does after a few days so my Dr recommended physical therapy. After a few weeks of working with Enrique I'm happy to say I am now pain free! He is awesome and really seems to love what he does. I have to say, I'm sort of surprised by how many negative reviews there are for customer service. I'll admit, I don't recall anyone other than Enrique introducing himself (I'm bad with names though, so even if they had I'd probably forget anyways) or wearing name tags, so I'm not sure who the other staff I interacted was. I wasn't sure whether to write this review because I don't like to write bad reviews. However, I feel like others should know what they're getting into. First off, I didn't have a very serious injury so I can't speak for Saba's abilities as therapist. If she's very good, then maybe that's the most important thing. That said, WOW, the office is a HIPA and interpersonal communication nightmare. Most worrisome was the way the therapists were speaking so loudly to each other about all the intimate details of the medical issue I was having, that everyone in the room could hear all the details clearly. And they shared all the intimate details of the other patients medical issues in very loud voices, to the point where I couldn't avoid hearing very intimate details of the other patients' cases. This was disturbing and clearly a HIPA violation. I was shocked by the lack of professionalism and rudeness of both Rochelle, at the front desk, and Saba. (And I'm not easily shocked as I'm from the NY area, where everyone there is pretty brusk and blunt.) Both Saba and Rochelle (who was at the front desk) were cold and rude. Saba didn't introduce herself, didn't listen carefully, was literally watching tv while she was "treating" me (they had a big screen with Seinfeld on it and about 1/2 the time she was with me, she was intently watching the tv screen watching instead of interacting with me), and Rochelle was cold and rude from beginning to end. Surprising because I didn't notice that she was rude on the phone but now, having read some other reviews, I can see it's an ongoing issue. read more

The assistants were equally professional and kind. I feel confident this office is perfect for us. As any PT they send you home with exercises so if hubby cooperates things will work out because I know Hands on Care will do an outstanding job at their sessions. I was referred to Hands-On Care for tendinitis. In the first session, Saba told me I didn't have tendinitis, but carpal tunnel, and gave me nerve glide exercises to do. Two sessions later, she told me I had thoracic outlet syndrome, and my exercises changed accordingly. I stopped a few sessions in because my symptoms were getting worse, not better. I did a nerve conduction study and EMG which found that I had no nerve or muscle issues -- so both Saba's diagnoses was wrong. My doctor's initial diagnoses of tendinitis was right. I'm now back at square one, looking for a different physical therapist, having wasted time and money, not to mention the worry I experienced over the diagnoses. I would also echo what others have said here: 1. HIPAA violations -- the staff talk about your issues loudly with other patients in the room 2. A lot of your 1-hour appointment which you will be charged for is spent waiting around for someone to see you, and your actual contact time with the physical therapist is about 10 mins 3. Saba's bedside manners is bad -- she never introduced herself or bothered to learn my name, she doesn't explain what she is doing or the purpose of the exercises, and every week you need to remind her what you're there for. 4. If you get a different therapist because your regular one is unavailable, you'll get a different opinion. There's definitely no continuity of care. read more

I was debating if should write a review about this hand therapy clinic, as I do not like to slam businesses. However I rely heavily on Yelp reviews and value others experiences, so I feel it is only fair to share my own - the good and the bad. Like other patients who have written reviews about this clinic, I too am surprised that there are such few negative reviews about this hand therapy clinic. I tore the ligament on my right thumb and had my hand placed in a cast to see if it would heal on its own. After 5 weeks it did not and I ended up having to have surgery to repair the ligament.These were my experiences at HOC: (1) Saba Kamal - as others have stated, she may be knowledgeable about hand therapy, (& she is not shy to say so) but she seriously lacks interpersonal skills with her clients. At no point did she ever introduce herself to me or ever really engage in any conversation in my approximately 6 sessions there. My intake session was someone whom I believe was an intern and they were exchanging information across the room about me, as clearly the intern did not know anything about an injury such as mine, let alone a surgery. I sill had my stitches in my thumb at my first & I mentioned that to them. The next thing I knew Saba had a pair of tweezers in her hand and was yanking them out. No sterilization or anything like that. It was painful & I was horrified! I found Saba also to be very blunt. She told me I would never recover full use of my hand and that I had arthritis coming on. It is really the way she said it, and not really what she said. (2) Very Little "Hands On" Attention - It is ironic that their name is called "Hands On care because you get very little "hands on" attention! You may have a 45 appointment but in reality you get all of about 10 minutes of Saba's time If you are lucky. At every appointment, this would be the routine - sit in the waiting area for 10-15 minutes as she finished off other patients (and she juggles manny patients), go wash may hands, I would be dipped in paraffin was (at $10 a dip x 5 = $50) then put on a heat pad, she would then tell me to get out my putty and work on it or sort coins (all which I could do also at home at no cost) and then she would work on me for about 10-15 minutes while she is either trying to put in an order for her lunch or watching the program on TV. No props were ever used - just her bending my finger back and forward before they would put me on ice or heat again. They would charge my insurance about $550 a session and I have no idea how they could justify those changes. I see charges for "Body movement therapy" for $160 and I have no idea what that is as I was always in a chair. It made my blood boil when I saw the charges made to my insurance. It was simply absurd for the attention I received at this clinic. (3) No progress & complete lack of concern - Under her care I felt I made absolutely no progress. When I would ask her what more I could do she would brush me off and say that my thumb was still very stuff and that there was nothing more we could do now. At some point she mentioned making a sling for my thumb but then of course the next client would be waiting for her and she would never have time to do anything. The best session I ever had at that office was when she was away and the therapist from the other office - Chris - took her place and actually gave me some advice and wrote notes about my care. (4) Front Desk Staff - Rochelle at the front desk should not be in customer service. After waiting 3 weeks to get an appointment and being eager to get my therapy underway, I was shocked when she told me they had very little availability. I did not understand how they could add new patients to their care and not have appointments for them. She got all snippy with me and gave me the cold shoulder every time I came into the office after that. Awful! I saw her speak to another elderly patient whom she had left a message late on a Friday night telling her that she had changed her appointment time and that patient had not seen the message & arrived at her scheduled time that Monday. She sent the poor lady home instead of trying to accommodate her. (5) MY NEW HAND THERAPIST - After 5-6 weeks I transferred my hand therapy to Stanford in Redwood City. I am happy to drive an hour each way because I am now getting excellent care. My therapist actually sits across the table from me for the ENTIRE 45 minutes and has an entire arsenal of "tools" that he uses to help me get my motion and mobility back. He uses everyday items that I can try to replicate at home so I can work on my thumb. He gave me a worksheet with exercises on my first day. He made me a sling the 2nd day to help mobility. I couldn't not be happier with the care I am getting & I have made amazing progress! So there are better options out there! read more

I have been receiving care from Saba Kamal for the last 8 months due to a chainsaw injury. I am now on my second surgery and continuing care with Hands-On-Care. I couldn't be more thankful for the support and treatment that I have received from Saba and her entire staff. Saba is a leader in her field and it shows. There isn't anything that happens that she doesn't know exactly how to deal with in the best possible way to promote healing and a timely recovery. I actually look forward to my painful visits. If I had begun with her and Hands-On-Care after my first surgery, I can guarantee I wouldn't have needed a second. Her only request is to do my part in my recovery when I'm not there. I returned to Hands on Care again after a shoulder dislocation/AC separation and nasty had injury. I ended up having a SLAP repair (labrum surgery) and a tenotomy (cut the bicep & move it from shoulder to humerous). I had gone through two rotator cuff surgeries previously, so my poor shoulder was a mess, and my hand unusable for a couple of months. I was in therapy for many months, but the results were spectacular. My surgeon was amazed that I am able to lift my arm straight up, and have resumed normal activities. I'm even playing Pickleball again! (and no my injury was not from that!). Was my rehab painful? Yes. Did Saba hold back? No. Do I owe my results to her work? In my mind, without a doubt. Make no mistake, rehab is a two-way street, you need to work hard at it. People who say "oh, I only spend half an hour with my therapist" need to understand that. I was usually there for a couple of hours doing my exercises and using equipment. I saw a lot of people come in, have a therapist work on them, get stim & ice, then leave. All I know is that I firmly believe I would not have my life back if it hadn't been for Hands on Care, and Saba specifically. read more

I developed extremely bad tendonitis from gaming and becoming a tech office worker with lots of computer use. I put off getting help for years cause I didn't know how to start the process. All of the staff were very friendly and helped me get started. My therapist Derek was very knowledgeable and nice. On my first visit I felt it was a very welcoming atmosphere. On my 2nd visit I felt very sheepish about not being able to remember my exercises and stretches I was given and Derek helped me out by taking a short video when I was in-clinic so it was easier to remember. After several sessions I am now able to make full use of my wrist and I no longer suffer from constantly inflamed fingers and even have to knowledge to take care of myself if I notice early warning signs. Easily recommend Derek and this place! Extra plus because Derek understood the type of extraneous wrist and finger pains gamers tend to go through so it was easy to ask for advice on how to get better. read more

I believe, from my own mom's experience, that they don't even deserve this 1 star. My mom is a lot of pain and in need of this physical therapy. She is someone who likes to be super early at any appointment or party. For her 2nd appointment with them she mixed up her appointment and thought it is at 11am instead of 10am, but still arrived around 10:15 but waited in the car, went inside at 10:45 the receptionist/manager (named Rachell, I guess) was super rude to my mom, telling her that she is late and cannot be seen and that she has to pay $95 and if she refuse to pay they will cancel all her appointments. Ok! I understand that she was late and missed her appointment, but most dr offices still arrange something to see you. And the way she talked to my mom and made her cry! I called to talk to this lady and see if there's something that we can do to fix this and if there's going to be exception that they could wave the fee for this time... boy! She was super rude, even though I was talking to her in a calm voice and asking her nicely, she started to have a rude tone, telling me that my mom had always been late....I stopped her at this point knowing that my MOM gets so annoying when it comes to appointments because she always want to be at her appointments 45 to an hour early! My mom had even told me that they had always been late other times she'd been there. The first appointment of this session, they were 45mins late and my mom had joked with them that "if a patient is late you charge them, should I charge you too!" So, long story short, they canceled all my mom's appointments not caring about a patients' pain and suffering, but caring for their money. I don't know how this place is still, knowing how rude and disrespectful and careless they are! read more

I went in with a mallet finger Saba created a splint for it. The next day, I went. Ask in as I was having trouble with keeping the finger straight. Her immediate reaction was " everybody else can bandage it why can't you". Not the response expected from someone in the medical industry treating patients with ailments. That aside, after 7 weeks there was no improvement/ recovery. My doctor stated the spiny was incorrectly made and not suitable for the mallet finger issue I had. After 7 weeks I am back to square one and hoping the recovery happens with a new splint made by my doctor Stay away from this place! read more

Saba is AMAZING! and this is why I can say that: I suffered a traumatic injury on my right hand that severed 10 tendons, 2 nerves and the ulnar artery. This happened last summer and within 48 hours, after a 13 hour surgery, the surgeon had requested that I immediately go see Saba at Hands On Care, which I did. Upon entering the clinic, I met Saba whom was very driven to start treating my wound which was all bandaged up from surgery. She very carefully removed all bandages, reapplied new wound care treatment to the stitches and prepared a custom brace for my hand to keep it immobile. For the next few months I went to therapy 5 times a week then 4 and now 3 and can honestly say that I can move my wrist with full motion, my grip is strong and I can fully extend all fingers. All this progress is not because I sat back and enjoyed the show but rather it's a full commitment from both myself and my therapist (Saba). She is very demanding and knowledgeable and it's what I need in a therapist. If you're looking for a cute and trendy place with a quiet and airy atmosphere- leave, this is not your place. But if you want to treat your injury and get better then this is your place. read more

Hands On Care is the real deal! If you're willing to listen and work hard, they will make unbelievable changes in your ailment. My story.... I crashed my Mountain Bike riding in Lake Tahoe in July 2017. I broke the ulna and radius in both arms, broke one thumb, damaged my brachial plexus, broke my T9 vertebrae and had a head injury. I spent nearly 3 weeks at a Reno Hospital for surgery, recovery and in-patient rehab. A Lake Tahoe therapist and a Reno therapist both recommended Hands On Care for continued therapy when I got home to San Jose in August. The owner and head therapist Saba 1) pointed out a dangerous infection in my right arm during my first visit 2) connected me with a surgeon @ Stanford to immediately remove the infection and install titanium plates 3) Got me from a state of upper body immobility (someone had to feed me and wipe my Butt) to 85% mobility playing guitar with two bands/working/driving and carrying my 2 year old and 4 year old kids again. I'm squeezing out the last 15% now through weekly visits to HandsOnCare and stretches/exercises at my gym. I would highly recommend Hands on Care, they made a major change in my life and got me out of what was quite literally a mid-life crisis. read more

I am *stunned* by the number of positive reviews this provider has received. I don't take leaving bad reviews lightly, but this cannot be avoided. Disclaimer: my review reflects my experience from before COVID, some things (like crowded rooms) may have changed. A few things you need to know if you decide to go with this provider: - You'll be received in a large room with other clients and no separation whatsoever. You will be sitting at the same table as another client while talking to your therapist. So forget about HIPAA compliance: the conversation with your therapist will be heard loud and clear by at least 5 other people. Privacy? I think not. I also think they could (should?) get in trouble for this. - You may rarely see the same therapist twice, you get whoever is free at the time. I went through a string of therapists and could not build a rapport, despite having gone some 5-6 times. Also, despite the fact that they do their measurements every time you go in, this turnover makes it difficult to actually measure progress. Because of this, they did not notice that my pinky was making absolutely no progress at all over the course of the 1-2 months I went there. In fact a year later it's still exactly in the same condition as it was before I went (it's probably because I needed surgery, not therapy, but none of the therapists I saw noticed or recommended that). - At some point they suggested a splint. After checking, they said it was covered by my insurance, so I went with it. Just shy of a year later, I get a bill from them for the full cost of the splint. They now say it wasn't covered. After wasting time going back and forth with them and my insurance, it turns out that I AM covered, but THEY are not credentialed with my insurance to provide anything but therapy (so they don't have an agreement with my insurance to bill for a splint). So I had to pay the full amount out of pocket, AND since it was so much later (Summer of the following calendar year) I couldn't even use my FSA money. Thank you so much hand-on care! Saba is fantastic. I shattered my pinky finger last year and had surgery to put in a plate and screws. My surgeon at Stanford recommended Saba, and I'm happy he did. I felt silly going to physical therapy for a pinky (I mean, "it's just a pinky", right?) but little did I know how important that little sucker is. HOC has two locations - Blossom Hill and Camden. I greatly preferred going to the Camden location - much smaller, and much less hectic. Blossom Hill has a LOT of patients at all times, and can feel a bit chaotic. But you are expected to know the drill as a patient and go through your exercises while you wait to have manual therapy. I appreciate the no-nonsense attitude of Saba and her other therapists. I'm not at PT to be coddled, but to get out of there as fast as possible and back to regular life again. If you have hand, arm, shoulder issues, I highly recommend Saba and her team. read more

I was a patient of Hands-On-Care referred by my hand surgeon. This place looks, feels and acts like a suburban nail saloon, more depressing than a nursing home. Here's why: 1- No privacy whatsoever: patients are treated around very closely placed small tables in a single room. 2- Old poorly maintained facility: pieces of ceiling tiles that broke off are covered with plasticky covers, the TV runs in full loop depressing old TV shows, they have a tiny Google Mini speaker to play music with its mesh dirty and ripped off. I know, small details: but sum them together and you get a picture. Their satellite office however is much better: smaller & newer. 3- Absurd to find time slots: Therapists are few and understaffed: unless you book at least 2 weeks ahead, you will miss your appointment frequency (and for me it was important as my Doctor asked me to be seen twice a week). 4- When I was under their care, towards end of 2022, they were oddly fixated with Covid: they ask you to wash your hands in a sink, yet yet theyl let you touch things on the floor (for exercises like stretching) and then NOT ask you to wash your hands again. 5- You get a different Therapist most of the time. Each will print and give you a bunch of different home exercises. If I did them all, I'd spend well over 1hr/day. No single constant treatment course to stick to, almost never the same Therapist that would accurately track me and my progress. They took some initial measurements on first day of treatment, but never did take the same measurements at the end to compare for any progress. 6- Technically mine were 1hr appointments. In practice they always started late, then in between treatment phases I'd be left waiting for as long as 20min because my Therapist was multitasking on other patients and rushing to ask interns running around to do things for them (and even explain to them on the fly since most of the times interns did not seem to have done that before!!). 7- Even though my Doctor shared with them my wrist problem (a tendonitis) and course of treatment, they told me TWICE they thought I had a broken wrist. I had to correct them twice, to avoid the wrong treatment being made. 8- They let me fill out an entire new patient module at the beginning, just to tell me they never received it (even though I showed them a confirmation email). 9- They never sent initial/final evaluation report to my Doctor even if they told me they did. 10- I noticed expiration dates well past due on stickers applied on machines they used on me for ultrasound and electrical stimulation, likely stickers that reflect their maintenance/calibration. 11- They try to sell you things with an absurd markup (example: almost 40$ for muscle tape). Ask them what they think you need and definitely shop by yourself elsewhere. 12- They bill insurance like CRAZY (about $5,500 to my insurance, then negotiated to little over $3,300 for 10 visits). And, even if you have GREAT insurance, some things they decide to bill to YOU directly, such as "Ionto patches" (which were used during some some visits, almost 39$ per patch!). 13- Their online payment system is crap (after you pay for copay, you can't find any longer a detail of the charges you just paid). I had to explicitly ask where to go pay my copays because nobody would tell me otherwise. 14- They overcharged me for copay. After calling/emailing/escalating to my Health Insurance Provider (this took almost 3 MONTHS!) the refunded me through check. Their billing department is a nightmare to get in touch with and an Indian call center (they promise to call you back and never do). 15- Condescending behavior by the management in the office is also part of the issue (14-) above. 16- Very few terapist, with high turnover, always understaffed. Staff felt decently well prepared but too much turnover even for my care. 17- They did not include in the treatment laser because they said since it wasn't prescribed by my Doctor I would have paid out of pocket for it. I trusted them, just to see later in my Doctor referral he DID include it! read more

Who would have thought I'd be happy to pay money in order to experience pain? I must be a masochist. All joking aside, I can highly recomend Hands On Care for your shoulder, elbow and hand therapy. Saba Kamal is an exceptionally talented therapist. After my nasty moutain bike accident, she had me back in the saddle again within a few short weeks. This was all the more remarkable considering I had virtually zero motion in my elbow and wrist three weeks ago. She'll bend parts of your body into positions that will make a grown man cry... but thankfully she does know when to stop. Her little evil grins while telling you to "relax" always had me cracking up in laughter. When it comes to physio, she was the best of both worlds... approachable but firm. The previous reviewer baked Saba a cake. Unfortunately, I have no baking skills, so she will just have to make do with my four star rating and this last little comment ... (I lied about the bike... I think this clinic is lacking some supervision. The first time we visit the clinic I'm impressed with the therapist. I think she's very knowledgeable and nice. My review is for the other staff due to lack of effort. After each session, we should know what's the next step if we need to setup an appointment or recommend a treatment plan. When I called the office either no one answers or they don't know what's the treatment plan. At one time they let me buy something for my son like a support for his finger just to find out from the other therapist that it's not the right one. Summary: Fun atmosphere; friendly and helpful staff; superb therapeutic techniques. I was referred to Hands On Care through my surgeon (Gordon Brody - SOAR Group), after having an arthritic pisiform bone removed from my wrist. My surgery was in June, and I began seeing Saba and Rani 5 or 6 weeks later. After roughly 8 weeks of therapy, I have nearly full flexibility back in my wrist, and full strength. I owe my excellent recovery to Saba's expert knowledge, and to the fantastic staff working with her. They're all very friendly and knowledgable. Saba seems to value a smart and hard work ethic, and communicates clearly to her patients that she expects the same of them. She will NOT let you slack off - and that's a huge bonus if you plan on a healthy recovery. If you're in need of this type of therapy, and you're not yet sure where to go, I'd recommend calling Saba. Ask her what she can do for you. I'll bet you get an earful! Then call 1 or 2 other therapists and compare. I'll bet you make the same choice I did in the end. read more

Dr Saba is in a league of her own. There is not much i can say that will relay the feeling of needing a good therapist and actually finding one that exceeds all expectations. Professional, approachable, caring yet firm at the same time. Physical therapy isnt easy or fun but she makes it ALMOST something you can look forward to. She is funny and easy to talk to and she is someone who relates to patients in order to get that little bit of insight to help you heal as much as possible as fast as possible. Thanks to her i was able to get back to full range of motion even though i had my doubts and now i am almost back to pre-injury status. If you need physical therapy i cannot recommend Hands on Care enough. How many patients bake their doctor a cake? I wasnt the first, and i doubt i'll be the last. read more

I would not recommend this place. I had 2 visits as both times they had no idea whom I was. The first visit I went to I had explained that I don't think I should have even been there at all. I was just there for an exam and a consultation after my surgery. They still proceeded to try to work on me. The second visit I was suppose to start and the Dr there had NOOOOO idea who I even was. I walked in and she instantly said to go grab some tool to start working it my wrist. (Which could have caused more damage ). I told her I don't think I should be doing this quite yet and she literally asked me "Who are you " ? WTF !! They treat you more like a paycheck than a patient. They could care less about personal 1 on 1 visits. To many people at once as opposed to actual PT and helping. They had also scheduled me and I showed up and they didn't even have me on the books and their response was. Ya sorry , we don't have you down and we are already double booked so you're gonna have to come back. No Fuxs given at all. Go to someplace that actuarially takes care of you and wants to see you do better. Or a place that takes the time to at least know who their patients are and what problems they might have. read more

This is by far the best physical therapy you can get! My doctor recommended them after I broke my finger. I'm working with the owner, Saba and even though hand therapy can be tough, she makes you laugh the whole time. I have been to other hand therapist in the past for dupuytren's contracture and this place is on a whole different level. Ask your doctor to give you a referral to Saba. I wouldn't reccomend this facility to anyone. Saba may be highly reccomended but she lacks a ton in the personality department and her professionalism. My first visit was rather different. Saba didn't introduce herself but decided to start off with "what are you here for." I was already bothered with the way the clinic was set up (loud and noisy) but there was not a moment where it was one-on-one to feel like she was actually listening to my problems with my hand. Throughout my entire visit she was screaming to the other therapists, the aides to do this or that or to the receptionst to follow up with things that were not even relevant to my appointment. I decided to ignore these things and come in for the remainder of my prescribed appointments since it's nearby. Well. Scheduling my appointments were difficult but I was always being moved around! I would specifically ask for a certain time but because my "case title" was considered "simple" they would move my appointment over to a therapist that was able to take "simpler cases" even if it meant moving it to an hour later. That way Saba and the other therapist Stelle would get the difficult ones, again, even if that meant adjusting the appointment I scheduled weeks in advance. This information I recieved from Josie, an aide in the clinic. Another negative experience I had here was when I came in for my appointment a few weeks ago and Saba yells over to the other side to the receptionist, "Where is my 10? It's 10:03 call them, if they are running behind charge the late fee." Excuse me lady, I was there 20 minutes early, SEEN you be notified I was there and say "Oh it's too early, they can wait" The reason I wrote this review is because of the appointment experience I dealt with this clinic the other day. Not only is it unprofessional, uncomfortable for patients and wrong but do not talk about your previous or current employee matters in front of patients! That is not how you conduct a proper and professional business! I feel sorry for the employee's here. This is probably why most don't last and why they're so short-staffed. So I agree with Dan down below. Go to another place that is friendly, professional and doesn't look at you like a paycheck. A place that actually cares about their patients and their injuries. While Saba's resume may be impressive, her professionalism and relationship-centered patient communication are not. On my first visit, Saba did not introduce herself by name or title but simply launched into a barrage of questions about my personal health. I didn't know who she was in relation to my visit, was she the administrative assistant or perhaps an aide? Yet she expected me to feel totally comfortable divulging my health history. I had to call a timeout on the interview and ask that she introduce herself. When she conducted the interview, I felt like she was more interested in checking off her boxes rather than treating and getting to know me as a patient. It's too bad because there is a lot of therapeutic healing that can occur in these relationships that can't be captured by an ICD-10 code. She instructed me to do exercises on the floor but she was eating her breakfast and talking to me with her mouth full, and at the same time yelling across the room to a co-worker saying what a bad morning she was having. She wore her leather jacket which made me feel as though she was halfway out the door. One of the things I was being treated for was carpal tunnel related to overuse due to how I hold my baby. Saba told me to not cock my wrists when holding my child. When I asked her to provide examples on how to do this exactly, she couldn't provide any (she doesn't have kids) but at the end of the visit she did some Googling and printed out and handed me examples which were way too small to visualize. I can go on and on with more examples on how bad the visit was but I think I've made my point. Last thing I'll say is that they don't clean their exam tables because when I laid face down in the exam room there was a bunch of hair and dirt on the machine (and I was the first patient of the day)! Saba would benefit from taking a course on communication and relationship building skills to improve clinical outcomes and patient safety and experience. I am now being treated at Breakthrough Physical Therapy in Sunnyvale -- I highly recommend them!! read more

I wish more physical therapists had the extensive training that Saba has had. I was sent to two different groups before finally being referred to Hands On Care! It took Saba one minute to figure out what was wrong with my hand. I highly recommend Hands on Care for physical therapy! read more

After several years of worsening symptoms in my arms and hands, with other physical therapy aggravating those symptoms, I was referred for hand therapy. Wow! What a difference I have felt after just one session. I will be returning for more but had gone out of town for weeks after my first treatment and my treatment gains held up over time. There is no way I can recommend this facility for medical care. I am a healthcare professional and the professionalism was completely missing. HIPAA was violated with the loud voices and shouting across the open arena about patients' issues/needs/care. Saba, in particular, had an incredibly loud voice and offended me with her volume when I was being treated by other therapists. The care I received from the two therapists was professional, kind and compassionate tho, sadly, it didn't improve my pain/function. I finished many visits, terminated care because of lack of progress and then finally received a bill. The bill charged me for services by Saba on multiple occasions, tho she never treated me. I called the office to ask for clarification and was referred to the billing phone number. The two men I spoke with there on two different occasions were unable to understand what I was asking for (corrected billing with the correct therapist) due to their lack of fluency of the English language. I called back to Hands On Care, BOTH offices, left messages for Saba to call me MULTIPLE TIMES, and never received a return call. I strongly explained that fraudulently billing for services of a therapist I didn't see was wrong and without any conversation, ultimately received a corrected bill. The corrected bill was received and paid the same week in early January so imagine my horror when a collection service called me today to attempt to collect the bill. I explained that it was paid weeks ago and she said I needed to prove that we paid it because they had received the request from HOC to collect yesterday! I received the email asking for clarification and returned it with my proof of payment weeks ago. I am confident this problem is resolved. Between the lack of professionalism/HIPAA issues, the erroneous billing and absence of any ability to communicate with billing or the owner regarding the bill, STAY AWAY. read more

I've worked with lots of physical therapists over the years and Stella is hands down (no pun intended) the best. Caring, competent and funny. Killer combination. I highly recommend Hands On Care but go to the Camden location if you can, it's smaller and better organized. read more

I really enjoyed my session with Tini. She is able to balance other patients but doesn't disrupt the time you are there. She is gentle and very kind. The facility is clean and the whole staff is very accommodating. The therapist all have good sense of humor too. read more

Saw Saba for two different hand/ wrist injuries years apart (even two different locations). First time I had been to two other PTs for a wrist injury that ended up requiring surgery and just wasn't getting better. Saba really worked me, but in the end, my wrist was good as new! Unbelievable. Second time I went in for a thumb injury. Again, I was really worked hard for the thumb injury.. but again she got me back to like new condition! I hope I never have to see her again (knock on wood), but if I have another injury, there's nobody else I would trust to get me fixed! read more

I have been going to Hands on care for quite a while. The front desk staff were always wonderful and very helpful. Always went out of their way to make sure they had everything. The therapist were wonderful and definitely helped me through a few surgies. Not only do I feel better and would not be where I am at today without the help of Hands on Care, I also enjoyed going to my appointments because of the friendly and family feeling atmosphere they have there. Each time I came here I was expecting something better or the situation would be a bit different. Let me explain... So when I initially hurt my shoulder, I scanned around using Yelp to be able to find a good therapy place- of course I landed on this page. When I decided to give Hands On a shot, I was amazed at how 1 or 2 therapist can go around and help 10 people in their office at the same time... Then I realized a few things after my 4th or 5th visit. They run late. Not sometimes, but always. I had never been to an appt there that was on time. Lack of structure at appt based places irritates me because I allot a certain amount of time if say,.. my appt was at 2pm- well, if I get seen at 2:15 or 2:20, then the therapy session takes 2 hours ( side note; is only 40-50 minutes of ACTUAL hands on care. She would give me PT exercises, leave for 20minutes to go take care of other patients, then id be finish with the exercises and wait for her for 10minutes). Then basically I don't get out of there until 4:30. Weak sauce if you ask me. Now, I will say that Saba knows her stuff. I'm a trainer and know kinesiology and corrective exercise ... But she's so scattered it's hard to pin her down and keep her attention, just constantly putting out fires. I took off 2 stars because it seems that her staff does most the work and she seems scattered. I would not recommend this place if you have a sports injury and paying out of pocket. Too much time, lack of focus, and not enough effective therapy in short time. I need to get back to being active, quick! Now that being said, if you have insurance and you got some time to kill- this place and the people there and friendly and everyone seems to be having a good time- so you can't go wrong with that in that context. read more
