Our experience with Desert Dry Restoration (Fernando Ventura) was extremely disappointing. After…read morethe Palisades fire, we hired Fernando to help with debris removal and restoration work on our property. Unfortunately, he was unable to complete the job because he did not have the proper licensing required to perform the work. We waited over four months for him to obtain his contractor's license, but he failed the test and never became properly qualified. We ultimately had to hire another licensed, reputable contractor to finish the job correctly. To make matters worse, after our new contractor completed the cleanup and restoration, Fernando illegally dumped debris from his roll-off back onto our cleared lot. When I confronted him, he admitted doing it and promised to reimburse the cost we incurred to have it removed -- yet three months later, we are still waiting for payment. Adding insult to injury, Fernando is using a set of photos of our home on his Google profile as an example of his "work" in the Palisades. This is completely misleading -- he did not complete the project and did not have the proper HAZWOPER certification to handle or dispose of debris. We trusted Desert Dry Restoration during a very difficult time and were met with unprofessionalism, dishonesty, and additional expense. I strongly recommend verifying licenses and credentials before hiring and would not recommend this company based on our experience.

My landlord hired Rainbow international restoration to fix my cabinets as well as replace granite and install Quartz countertops. Not only was this company efficient! They were quick !!! They were polite and respectful! Santiago along with his team communicated every step of the way. My concern was Christmas was rt around the corner and they worked everyday to deliver what he promised. My kitchen looks absolutely stunning and a wk early!! If you need any work from this company Do not hesitate!! They are the best! The bonus is they're also just really good people. My landlord is in real estate and worked with Santiago several years ago as well so that says a lot because she is very picky. They also put up with my yappy little dog

Both experiences have been excellent. The work was professional, high quality & completed on time. What really sets them apart is that the owner, Santiago, stays personally involved from start to finish, ensuring everything is done exactly as promised. The kitchen turned out beautiful, and both my tenant and I are happy with the results. I recommend Rainbow Internation, Santiago and his team without hesitation to anyone needing high-quality restoration services.

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend One of a Kind Restoration. We had a leak at my mom's house that…read morerequired the involvement of insurance as we had to tear out a bathroom vanity and several pieces of drywall to deal with water damage. I made the mistake of going with this company, recommended by my plumber so I thought they would be good, instead of using someone contracted with my insurance. Initially I was pleased, as the owner of the company took time out of his weekend to help me file the insurance claim over the phone. However, from that point, I was mostly dissatisfied with this company's work and business practices. First, their workers attempted to remove the desk in my mom's bedroom that is literally built into the wall because they claimed they needed to put fans behind it. While I understand that they detected moisture around the desk, I was not happy with the fact that their workers started removing all of the items from the desk and trying to detach it without discussing with me first. I had to tell the owner on the phone to leave the desk alone. Second, they ended up putting too many fans and tripping my circuit breakers several times. A minor complaint, but seems they should have known that beforehand. Finally, and most egregiously, they kept (and still have not returned) my $1k deposit even after getting paid by my insurance company. Every other contractor I've dealt with has rolled the deposit into the final bill, and since the final bill was paid by insurance, I would have expected One of a Kind to return my deposit but they never did, even after I sent multiple emails requesting it back. Overall, while One of a Kind is initially responsive and helpful, their actual work is subpar, and their billing practices are shady in my opinion. If you have a leak situation like the one I did, I would just go through your insurance. Wish I had done that instead of being out $1k for something that should have been entirely covered by insurance.

There aren't enough words in the world to express my frustration with this company…read more Long story short: after a cat 3 water damage event, they set up their fans for a 2-3 day dehumidifier project. Screened the area off with plastic, gave no instruction on how to prepare (and what to remove from the area), and unplugged my freezer full of food without telling us. In the screened off area. Days went by with no progress. Then a smell pushed through the house reeking of sewage. Then it worsened. Their project manager was notified at every step of the way, and our concerns were dismissed. Then when I had enough, I took down their plastic screening on day 13 and it was revealed that they unplugged the freezer. The dehumidifiers were spending my energy to dry the air, defrost my carne asada and lasagnas and butter, distribute putrid scents through the house, all while whirring away with an unrelenting hellish noise. Not to mention all the spoiled pantry items that would've survived 2-3 days--not 2 weeks' worth of heated, dry air. Of course they admitted fault. But those who did were suddenly "no longer with" the company. Emails bounced for MONTHS. We went with other contractors to finish the restoration of course. And then they had the audacity to come to us for $11k (but the agreed upon estimation was $4k). After all, we rented their equipment by day--and the project took 13 days, right? Needless to say we paid them the amount that was agreed to with our insurance adjustor ($4k) and have moved on from the nightmare. Except this company doesn't get off Scott free, because I'm ensuring that this story and the way they handled it is known by all. Hope that $4k you demanded of us I was worth it.
