Love writing 5-star reviews. Had a problematic bathroom door hinge that was getting worse over time. Tightening screws wasn't cutting it any longer. So after first Googling, and from there, clicking into Yelp saw 3 or 4 potential handymen. Something about Guy's reviews caught my eye and so I called him - and sure glad I did. He answered (vs. some auto recording) and asked the issue, which I described, and then asked that I send him some pictures of what I thought was wrong. He called back shortly thereafter and said it's almost too simple a fix and I said cool (I was afraid we'd have to reframe it or something) and said he could come out in an hour or so. Which he did, and he was right - it was simple. So.... 1) easy to get ahold of, ) quick repsonse & a bid, and 3) luckily for me, same day service. What's not to like?? 10/16/25; GREAT JOBS! First Job: My Lantern light hardwired on top of my brick column entryway had blown OFF the brick (had wires all exposed, but still attached to the light) from very heavy winds. I needed that fixed, and the 2 lights cleaned so they would be nice for Halloween; Second Job: I needed to have a new 76'" x 28" Trellis put together that arrived UNASSEMBLED as just a bunch of boards (EVERYTHING needs assembling these days..'good old days gone for good'). Guy answered my call right away and booked Santana to arrive 2 mornings later. Santana arrived on time and did a GREAT JOB ON FIXING THE LIGHT, then CLEANING both (very dirty before), then ASSEMBLING the TRELLIS AND CUTTING METAL BOTTOM to FIT HEIGHT I NEEDED. He WENT THE EXTRA STEPS to INSERTING the trellis INTO the GROUND BEHIND VINE (having to cut off metal bottoms that to into the ground so the height is just right), AND then the SECURING TRELLIS TO WALL - ALL STEPS HE did to make sure everything was just right! If GUYS OC HANDYMAN has ALL of their available workers do this type of excellent job, I just need ONE PHONE NUMBER to call for almost anything I need done - that would make my life a lot easier. read more

I wish I had the same experience everyone had with Guy. I recently was in a horrible situation of having a roach infestation at my apartment. When I reached out, I inquired on caulking the gaps I had in between my baseboards in the areas where I had the most activity. Personally, Guy wasn't too friendly on the phone - he cut me off a couple of times while I was trying to explain. I understand that I'm just a renter and some businesses would rather work with the owner. It was more of the lack of customer service and even respect as he even quickly hung up/ended the call with annoyance. I had been trying to figure out for months how to modify a balcony area and side patio -- both outfitted with pergolas -- to be able to contain 2 kittens with a penchant for adventure. The first handyman I worked with came to view the projects, took measurements and discussed the job with me... only to flake out completely. Fortunately, that led me to Guy. I submitted my job request via Yelp, after reading that Guy had helped to install a cat jungle gym at another Yelper's home. Guy was very quick to respond and to set up an appointment. As I explained how I had envisioned the project coming together, he shared with me there were alternate ways to do it that would be faster and simpler. He was very respectful in recommending a different approach to the project, and he got right down to work. He didn't take breaks or even answer his phone, because he wanted to ensure he was dedicating himself to the job at hand. (I've worked with others in the past who talk a lot on their phone and take frequent breaks, so the work ethic was greatly appreciated.) The job was too large to complete in a day, so he came back a few days later after Easter to finish it. Not only was I happy with the results, Guy was always extremely polite, respectful and clean. He even cleaned up a portion of my patio that had nothing to do with the project! He wanted to make sure that he went a step beyond what was expected, because he takes his work very seriously. I had Guy come over to install a brand new door for a garage side entrance. Guy, was more than courteous and punctual and is a stickler for detailed work which is great! Honestly, I had no idea installing a door took so much work, but Guy was able to knock it out in a day, and his attention to detail is excellent. He also installed the door knob hardware. The door came out awesome and he also ran me through a quality check to make sure there were no issues before he left the job. I even had a few questions about other jobs and projects after this one, which he was able to get back to me promptly. After the door project, we had a very old rod iron railing deck fence and spiral staircase that needed removal from our back yard. He was able to give us a quote, and told us he would have his crew handle the project, of which they did all in a days work.
