    Chicken Campero Bowl

The food here is absolutely delicious and served fresh! Have not been able to find better empanadas then the ones they serve here! They serve food from grilled/fried chicken, to chicken bowls, to empanadas to Yuka fries! They have a little something for everyone!

Worst fried chicken I've ever had in my life, and I've been to prison. Dry, overcooked, and stuck to the bone. Restaurant was clean and service was good, though.

So my family is from out of state and enjoys pollo campero (memories from California) I have submitted a review exactly a year ago when they visited Due to the quality of the food, unfortunately this time around I am currently waiting for my family's meal which is a four piece special I have arrived at 8:36 and it is currently now 9 o'clock and the food is yet to be brought out. The dining room is filled of upset customers that are complaining but still waiting patiently to be served, please we ask to be mindful of wait times, and communication on wait times, this will help the customers to understand the situation of wait time and show empathy for short staff. I hope this suggestion helps for the sake of ones that travel out of town to enjoy the memories that they had of this franchise.

Glad to see Pollo Campero open in Manassas! I've been to their locations in Wheaton and Herndon and enjoy their food. I stopped in for dinner and the place was packed! I ordered the two piece fried chicken meal (wing and breast), plus their delicious Campero beans, which also comes with a dinner roll and a soda (went with Diet Coke). They hand you a number attached to a stand - I got my soft drink and found a seat and waited. Food came out a couple of minutes later. Chicken was moist and delicious! Skin was crispy and oh so tasty! The Campero beans were good as always! Keep in mind - this is Latin American fried chicken - NOT Peruvian chicken. They are vastly different food products - I happen to like both!

I ended up here for dinner after my dad had recommended that we go as a family to try the chicken since it was so different. We ordered a family style meal with about 16 pieces of chicken and 3 sides of campero beans , black beans and rice and french fries it also came with rolls or tortillas. We also ordered a bowl of the chicken tortilla soup and a side of fried plantains. The chicken was really good crispy skin with a nice lime flavor it was fresh and different from your typical fried chicken which has a heavier taste. The campero beans were really good it ways almost like eating baked beans except without all the brown sugary sweetness.I added a bit of the chopped onion with cilantro from the condiment bar which upped it a bit. We got rolls but after eating everything it made me wish we ordered tortillas. The chicken tortilla soup tasted so fresh and clean that it made me wish I had a huge bowl. The fried plantains were good but i wish they has more of a crisping from the natural sugars. Overall experience was decent although we were the only ASIAN family eating in the restaurant full of Latino people that definitely stared at us while we ate. I did love that they have a condiments bar for salsa and other toppings. Service: Was actually really good for a fast food joint type place. They also gave us a side of chips and salsa while we waited for our chicken. Only negative thing is they almost forgot to give us 2 pieces of chicken that were suppose to come with the order until we reminded them.

I've had this chicken in Phoenix Arizona so I know it's pretty tasty. It was a bit dry but the taste is what I remember, unique and flavorful. The sides are all marginal but this chicken is very good when it fried perfectly, Oh you get a FREE piece of chicken when you check in Thanks Yelp

Quatros leches...this is about all I could eat...very very very sweet.

Mehhh.. I was kind of confused because I thought Pollo Campero was Peruvian chicken. It's not bad by any means, but the roasted chicken is not what I am used to at Guapo's or Pollos Inka, rather It is citrusy and herby. At least the inside is still juicy. The cole slaw was mehh. (Sorry for the repetition of adjectives, but that really is the most appropriate word to capture my apathy toward the food.) I tried the quatros leches for dessert and it was a little too sweet for me. I could only eat about 3 bites. I was mostly disappointed by the guava drink though. Since it was listed separately from fountain drinks I assumed it was something special, but it was more like a guava hi-c fountain drink with extra sugar. Couldn't drink it. I am however still giving three stars for the yuca fries, the little salsa/hot sauce bar and the customer service. The manager was super kind and gracious.

Came in for lunch, we opted to dine in, ordered the 8 piece family meal with two sides for $20.99. I also ordered 3 empandas which came with a side and a drink. When you dine in, they serve everything on plates, so the convience of boxing everything up when u are done is not there. You would need to ask for to goto containers. Fried chicken - very salty and crunchy. You would need to eat this with white rice or something to even out the saltiness. Yuca - this is my first time having yuca that is so soft and buttery but it was cold. Beans - I asked for rice but they gave me beans, sigh. Beans tasted decent. Empandas - not bad, I asked for spicy and it was not spicy. Empandas were room temperature, I bet it would have tasted better if it was fresh. Corn salad - omg this is the sadness dish they have. On the menu it looks so good but when they serve it to you, its all nasty looking. Chips - these were pretty damn good but there was no actual salsa for these chips. We also got tortillas instead of dinner rolls. I would stay away from their sides and just stick to the chicken. Overall it's just OK...

They don't have the authentic ketchup. American Heinz ketchup. The chicken is good, sides as well. Fast friendly service.

Food: Tried the shrimp cocktail (shrimp, avocado, tomato,…read morechili, and onion), birria sope, beef gordita, and birria tacos. Everything was flavorful and fresh. My favorites were definitely the birria tacos and the sope. Price: 3 birria tacos for $12 -- pretty fair pricing for the portion and quality. Atmosphere: Very packed, which is usually a good sign, but still nice and organized. Plenty of seating and the restaurant was decorated really well. Family-friendly atmosphere too. Service: Customer service was great and everyone was friendly and helpful. Overall: Good food, fair prices, lots of options, and a nice environment. Definitely would come back!

We drove out of our way to try this place and honestly it was a bit confusing to figure out where to order. There are two lines and it's not very clear which one we are supposed to get in for what. Especially because some of the items are duplicate on both menus. I noticed there was barely anyone in the "restaurant" line. Anyway, we sort of got a little bit of everything and wasn't completely brown away. I liked that they let you add your own toppings, and all of the sauces that have available were great. But the taco meats all sort of lacked a bit of flavor. Carnitas are my favorite but these were a bit inconsistent. Some pieces were very nice and juicy where others were hard to chew. I will say the place is very clean and spacious. They're pretty quick with your order as well. The food was lacking flavor for me personally. Overall, I don't think I would go back.

One of the managers came over to check on us and offer menu ideas. Truly, everyone was very nice and welcoming. Decor was festive and cute though the music was a bit on the loud side. My dad got pozole. He loves that dish and loves it spicy. He remarked at the bland taste. My mom got chicken taquitos. She said they were fine, but lacked enough sour cream and there was no guacamole with it. I got Cancun Tacos. It was supposed to have this: Grilled shrimp flour tortilla tacos, baja style, topped with chipotle cole slaw, pico de gallo, guacamole and cheese, served with rice and beans. I just asked them to use corn tortillas, not flour. It took two people 4 conversations to get that clear. What I got was sautéed baby shrimp, iceberg lettuce in a thousand island type dressing and some watery salsa in cold corn tortillas. No cheese or guacamole. Overall, the food was all very bland and overpriced in my opinion. We wanted to try a new place and my parents love Mexican food. The people were lovely and they tried really hard to understand my order. I wish the food had been better.
