One of the best hot chicken spots in nova. Wooboi and Dave's are probably my favorite in the area. I've been to the Herndon location a few times but this was my first here. Service was good as was the food. Wooboi's chicken is spicier than other chicken places imo. My tolerance: Dave's chicken hot, Hangry Joe's medium, and Wooboi's mild. The chicken sandwich is large. The heat is balanced out from the coleslaw, creamy comeback sauce, and pickles (which are more like bread and butter pickles). The chicken itself has unique seasoning- there's something like cinnamon or something not expected in it. I liked it. There's one table with two seats inside and 2 small tables outside. Do not recommend. The worst chicken sandwich I've ever had. I got the junior sandwich which was very soggy, bland, and disappointing. The flavor was barely there; the comeback sauce helped, but even that was just ok. I could not get over how soggy the whole sandwich was, and we ate it immediately after they cooked it and handed it to us. The entire bun was soaked, along with the fried chicken, which was not crispy at all. Halfway through, the chicken's breading came completely off, and rest of the sandwich disintegrated into mush. It was horrible and super messy to eat. By the end, I was basically just eating an unseasoned and bare chicken cutlet. There was barely any slaw my sandwich, which added to the disappointment. To give them some credit, the chicken was juicy, but with how wet the whole sandwich was, I do not recommend Wooboi. This is the newest location of the 3. It's slightly different since there's no indoor seating except some benches to wait on your order. But the food is still just as good as the Herndon location. I ordered the chicken tenders and my fiancée ordered the sandwich. We both got the level 3 I believe and it was very tasty! The chicken was hot in temperature and had just the right spice. The waffle fries were also extremely good! The service was friendly but minimal. They have the self order screen but you can also order with the person at the counter if you prefer. The ambiance doesn't offer much. It's very much just a grab it and go place. You can sit outside if the weather is warm enough. read more

I'm a chicken (pun intended) so I got the mild spice and it was perfect for those who want some flavor without being worried about their mouth being on fire. I personally love the Mumbo sauce the most, it's tangy and thin. The comeback sauce is good but more of a mayo based sauce and dense. The chicken breading could have been a little thicker to enhance the crunch, but I certainly felt like I got my moneys worth with the quantity of meat. I wanted to go here to try their Code Blue since I love challenges! The owner was in culinary school and he met someone who introduced him to Nashville style chicken. He loved it and decided to create his own variant of this! What's unique about this chicken is the chicken is fried first, coded with a chili oil, and then seasoned with their unique spices. The seasonings are all natural and they make their own spice blends. I tried their chicken wings, their spicy chicken sandwich, their French fries, and their code blue chicken nuggets. My favorite was their spicy chicken sandwich. I'm Asian and could hold my spices but level 3 needed some water with it! I would still get a level 3 but not go above that! 4.5 stars, I have had Wooboi in Herndon, and had a great time so I had similar expectations. The different locations have some differences in menu items which can be a good and bad thing depending what you want and where you live. I got Burrito and Skinny (both unique to this location and Alexandria) take-out. The Burrito comes with grilled chicken, egg, cheese, garlic rice, choice of sauce in flour tortilla. It was delicious and super filling! I added avocado to enhance my burrito. Got it at Level 1 spicy which I did not notice at all. The Skinny comes with grilled chicken, garlic rice, lettuce, cucumbers, and choice of sauce. Imagine chicken over rice halal platter! It surprised me since it was quite delicious! Got it at Level 2 which was slightly spicy, but very manageable. I remember dying at Level 2 when I got the chicken sando in Herndon so I was confused a bit. The signature Comeback Sauce and Somi Sauce (cilantro lime) are my favorite. Comeback was very flavorful while Somi was so refreshing. Mumbo is not bad, but the Zard Sauce (level 2 spicy tomato + pepper) was ok... it had quite an overpowering kick. read more

My old office was right by the original restaurant in Herndon, and we used to go all the time. Their chicken sandwich is definitely the best in Northern VA, and I would have given the new Fairfax location a 5/5 but two things are big negatives. They don't offer fountain sodas, just bottled specialty brands, and there is no seating at all. I don't think they can do much about the seating, but some outside tables would have been much better than eating in my car. As for the fountain drinks, the Herndon restaurant had them, so I'm not sure why this location doesn't. So, the sando chicken sandwich is still the best in the area, absolutely destroys Hangry Joes, Popeyes, and Chic Fil A. The regular waffle fries are great, but it looks like they don't offer sweet potato fries anymore. read more

We got level 3 spicy -- was expecting it to be spicier but it was still pleasant. There is no seating in the restaurant, so everything is takeout, but the staff was very nice. Wooboi is here in fairfax near us so we just have to try it out! They have no lines, about 10 mins to make the chicken sado as they seem to be in their training time still. The sando came out delicious. There is a kiosk you can place your order or you can order it with a team member. The chicken is nice, hot and thick. If you have not had wooboi before, there are five sauces and and 6 level of spicy including guiness world record level of spicy. If you buy the guiness record of spicy one, you can sign your name on the wall. Chicken is tender and juicy. The sando will fill you up and it is about $13 per sanwich but it's pretty hefty. This location have only a few chairs to sit and wait for the food, there is no table to sit there and eat (fyi for first timers). Will come back to try the tenders next time :) read more

This is a pretty solid chicken sandwich place in the NOVA area. I ordered the chicken sandwich at a mild heat level. It was very good. The chicken was super crispy, and I loved the slaw on top. The thing bringing down this rating was definitely the fries. They were super stale. I understand that having them sit around will make them a little soggy, and I would be okay with that, but these fries tasted like they had been sitting around all day. But I did like the seasoning on them. I thought the portion size was pretty good. Wooboi had been a solid 4.5 to 5 star for me for a long time when I was in Alexandria. Now down to more like 3.5 when I tried this location. The sando is good as ever, but either they changed their recipes, or we were given one spicier than the hot we ordered. The kicker for me is this location didn't have fried okra, and it appears Wooboi in general changed the Choi fries to simply cheese and chicken. Choi fries used to be covered in sauce, cheese, with pickles and tomatoes---a great side to the giant spicy sandwich! Nothing wrong with chicken and cheese fries, but personally, I don't need more chicken for my chicken sandwich. It's no original Choi fries. Chicken was moist and tender. I enjoyed the slaw, pickles and sauce they put on it, but it made the bun drenched and it was hard to eat. I basically had to eat it without the bun and some of the breading came off. The Somi (cilantro lime) sauce was delicious. Nashville hot chick has been trending lately so I wanted to try it out. I decided to come here because I've heard that Woobois is the original joint (compared to hangry joes and dave's hot chicken). This place did not disappoint. It is a small store with no seating inside. However, there's two tables right outside as well as a bunch of picnic tables under the trees to the left of the store so we didn't have any trouble finding a place to eat. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted with a chorus of welcomes from the staff, including the owner, who eagerly explained the menu to us. I ordered the wings at level 2 spicy and my partner got the tenders at level 1 spice. Both of them were incredibly juicy with a nice nashville flavor and kick to it. Level 2 had a manageable spice, just enough to not have you panting while level 1 was a small mild spice which I personally barely felt. We also got the peach drink, which is homemade and very refreshing and sweet. Both the owner and staff are incredibly friendly. The owner greeted every customer and made conversation with everyone. Additionally, he gave us free extra sauces because he wanted us to try more. This place provided fantastic service, a very welcoming and friendly atmosphere, and phenomenal food. I love this place! The chicken is spicy! There's a chalk wall that you can express your creativity on and its a great way to kill time while you wait for your food. I ordered the skinny and it was a fantastic little meal of rice, lettuce, cucumber, and chicken that left you feeling so well-nourished. The workers are friendly and the atmosphere is very chill for a night bite. There is no seating inside but there are two 4-6 seat tables right outside that you can sit at to enjoy your food. The lettuce and cucumber salad mixed with the Somi sauce tastes great. The rice is lightly seasoned and goes well with the rest of the bowl, although it is slightly oily.
