Having had many hot chicken spots, I'd say this one is one of the better ones. I don't think it beats Dave's Hot Chicken for me but definitely holds its own. The size of the chicken they use is probably the most surprising part. It was actually a big piece of chicken for a sandwich but I'm not complaining. The spice level was good but I'd definitely go hotter than hot next time. The chicken was juicy and flavorful. The fries were also very very good. I'm a fan of waffle fries so that's a plus for me. We did a takeout order and it didn't take too long for it to be ready. Only 15 mins I think. The restaurant is a tad small but that's because it's in the Worldgate shopping center. My girlfriend and I will definitely be back because it is closer than Dave's in DC.

Good, not great. Ordered takeout online, got two Chicken Sando and the Chicken and Waffles dish. Location is in Worldgate Center, in Herndon. There's plenty of parking in the lot outside, and also nearby shops and restaurants in the same complex, such as TGI Friday's and Weird Brothers Coffee. I got second highest level of spicy, for both the Sando (spicy hot, I believe). Chicken Sando was spicy and needed napkins, but not as bad as the highest spice level. I recommend not getting that unless you're serious. I tried it once at a different Hangry Joe's, and felt like I was dying inside. In short, there's a difference between bravery and sheer stupidity. Be the wolf, not the dog (I guess that kinda makes sense? Even though one is evolved from the other, lol) Anyway, food was good, and portions were acceptable. However, not outstanding flavors or taste. I'll give it a pass, though.

With a wait time of 3 hours for Topgolf we searched for a nearby place to eat. Maps pointed at at Hangry joes, and with a group of 15 persons, where majority was kids, it was bound to be fast food. Area had a Big parking and we found one just in front of Hangry J. Very similar concept as Dave's hot chicken, with white bread served with tenders, many levels of hotness, for your choosing. We ordered sandwiches, chicken tenders and waffles fries. The sandwich had the right crunch and juiciness and they served us fast. Perhaps that's why it's called fast food...,. Sauce is a must and the spice level medium was good level of hot food for me. We sat outdoor and didn't really capture the ambiance, but the staff was helpful and service-minded.

Great place to get some GOOD chickens sandwiches! There was only one lady behind the counter taking/dispatching orders, so there was a little bit of wait. The store is clean and spacious.

My go-to place when I want something yummy that is not too unhealthy, is reliable, does not deviate up or down too much, and is a decent price while also in a convenient location, if at least for myself. The chicken, bread, coleslaw, and fries are almost always well made. There are slight variations within how crunchy and how well cooked and seasoned the chicken is, but I would say it never falls below a 3.5 on taste and execution, and on a good day, it can be as high as 4.7 to 4.8 out of 5. When you account for the promotion that is currently going on on Uber Eats, especially if you have a Capital One Savor card, this is an impeccable deal. I order from here for both myself as well as my partner with recurring regularity. Is this the best hot chicken in the area? Possibly not, but it is pretty high up there. In terms of the heat, the flavors, the execution, and the quality of the chicken, this place likely beats out most; especially given price point and reliability. If you live in an area with a Hangry Joe's and you don't patronize them, well... you're missing out. Initially I was going to offer a comparison to the more instagram-friendly places that a lot of people seem to congregate at these days, particularly those who are overpriced, overly loud, and have service, ambiance, and food quality and execution issues; but then I decided, as opposed to throwing (albeit true and legitimate) shade, I would allow for Joe's to simply speak for itself. If you are a spice novice or not spice resistant, begin with Mild.

When I heard about Hangry Joe's, I took a look at their menu and liked what I saw. What pleased me was that their chicken was offered with varied degrees of spiciness. It ranged from no seasoning at all to "angry hot". If you want to have "angry hot" you are required to sign a waiver...it's that hot...yikes! As we've gotten older, we just can't handle very spicy items as well as in our younger days. Plus, when it came to super spicy, I was always a wimp about it anyway. Thus we were pleasantly surprised to see that Hangry Joe offered up their chicken with choices as to the spiciness. We were there on a Saturday around 6:30 and they were doing a good business. They have a few tables inside as well as outside. We chose to eat inside. You can place your order directly with an employee or at a touch screen. We did it by talking to an employee. The young man who helped us was friendly and patient when we had a couple of questions. We both got the "salad with chicken breast" which consists of: "Romaine lettuce, cherry tomato, cheddar cheese, chicken breast cider slaw and croutons with a choice of balsamic, ranch or caesar dressing". I chose balsamic while my husband chose ranch. We both got our chicken prepared with "mild spice". To drink, we shared a bottle of water. Since everything is prepared to order, it took a little while to get it. The wait wasn't bad at all, in other words, we didn't get annoyed about it. The chicken was served in small pieces. Each piece was consistently tender and juicy. The mild spice was just right for us. I describe it this way --- it added flavor to the chicken without overpowering the salad ingredients. Still, it did give us runny noses and our lips were tingling. We were very surprised at how generous the portion of chicken was! The salad ingredients were all fresh. In fact, we found ourselves getting quite full! We both agree that we want to return and try other items. Right now I have my eye on the "Korean chicken nuggets" with soy garlic sauce (the sauce is available in spicy and non-spicy form).

Hangry Joe's was not bad. I was a little concerned about the quality before going, based on other reviews but, they seem to have locations everywhere, so I wanted to give them a try. For my meal, I got the "Combo 1" option at a mild spice level, which comes with their "Chicken Sando" sandwich, waffle fries and a fountain drink. I enjoyed the sandwich as it was a good size and did not fall apart as many of these types of chicken sandwiches tend to. In terms of the spice, I did not find the "Mild" level to be spicy at all. As far as the waffle fries go, I was disappointed. They tasted fine but there was only a small amount. Overall, the meal was good but not super special. If you like chicken sandwiches this is not a bad place to go to.

In this local area there a million places to chose from and I chose here. Ordered the chicken nuggets in spicy soy garlic sauce which came with white rice... I wish it was actually spicy but the sauce was flavorful all it was missing was a few broccoli florets just 2 or 3 to balance out the flavors. I'd definitely come back and try a few more items.

I was excited to try this new spot as soon as I had seen the signs come up. It replaced the A-deli that had been there for a while. I decided to go on a Thursday night around 6:30PM and the restaurant was crowded. There was a line of people waiting to order, and I decided the quickest way to get my order in would be using the kiosk. I was able to get my order in within a few minutes. There is minimal seating inside, but I was able to get a table. I ordered the Chicken Sando (mild), the large chicken bites (mild) and the spicy soy garlic Korean nuggets with rice. Everything was delicious, but very spicy! I've already been back to the restaurant and went with the no heat spice level and the experience was much more pleasant for me. The prices were reasonable for the amount of food you get. The chicken Sando was amazing and the size of the chicken in it was huge. Definitely a great addition to the Worldgate Center!

Chicken wings were undersauced, underseasoned, undercooked, & overrated. Fries were good as well as the sauce they came with. Their sweet tea was very flavorless, I would not recommend it as a drink. Service was okay, cashier was slightly confused on what cup size goes with the combo I ordered. Not my favorite ambiance but it had a lot to do with decor & slight lack of cleanliness (food on floor).

Food: So, Hangry Joes is starting to win me over, and here's why: big portions, that halal chicken, and a flavor explosion! When I explore new hot chicken spots, I usually take a chance and go for the "hot" level, and this place brought the heat! Their chicken is juicy, crispy, and it's so massive that it practically breaks free from the sandwich. You can see it in the picture - it's almost comical how much chicken there is, but I'm loving it! They've got those thick-cut pickles, a cooling slaw, and a sweet, creamy sauce that's spot on. Now, I'm a fan of mixing things up, usually preferring to have honey and creamy sauce separately to customize my flavor. But Hangry Joes serves it up all in one package, and I'm getting used to it. Vibe: The spot isn't the biggest joint around, but it's got enough room for a few groups to enjoy their meals while they're still fresh. You can choose to order at the kiosk on the left or have a chat with the friendly owner, who always seems to be around. It's generally pretty chill - a few people coming and going, and the occasional group sitting down. It seems like most folks are opting for takeout, though.

Hangry Joe's does not disappoint. First time here and loved it. Did Mild this time. Next will be medium. Went with Sando Combo 1. Chicken sandwich was phenomenal. Crunchy outside. Juicy and tender inside. Delicious toppings. Bun is tasty. Chicken filet was huge. Only advice. Add more fries. What you see in the picture was the serving. Other than that, this place is awesome. Service with a smile. Fast service. Great food. Should be a 4.5. Packed at 1120 on a Wednesday.

We pretty much ordered 1 of everything to go. One of my favorite fried chicken spots and my usual go to is the salad with medium heat chicken and ranch dressing. It is a smaller location and the parking in the shopping center isn't the best so we usually take it to go. The self order kiosks are easy to use or there is a cashier you can order from. Not a whole lot of seating side but there is some outside. Definitely check it out if you haven't already

Hopefully just a one off---but the chicken I ordered via DoorDash came completely raw. Real safety issue.

The food was dry and lacked zest, and crunch, and they had with no sauces, outside the basic mustard, ketchup, mayo, and some bland ranch and Tabasco. The worst of all was the cost; for such small quantity and poor dull quality, one sandwich and small fries was ~$16. Nando's would have been a significantly better alternative; they have a variety of sauces/flavors, a unique vibe, ample veggie options, zest and more quantity for what you pay. This place looks nice and clean, but the quality and quantity - for what you pay - is lackluster and subpar. Their average ~2 stars I see on here is justified. Maybe just for their shakes they're good, but for their foods, Burger King would even be a better alternative. 1.5 stars.
