Potbelly is by far my favorite sandwich shop chain and though it is always good, this location makes the sandwiches even more awesomer! The sandwiches are always packed fully of ingredients and they never skimp even when it's busy! There can be a little bit of a line during lunch time with office workers, but it moves quick The employees are always super friendly and in all the times I've been to this location, I've never seen anyone in a bad mood and it is always clean. Plenty of seating inside plus a ton of public outdoor seating around the restaurant as part of the town center which is really nice on a good day. read more

When our grandkids visited us back in the spring, we took them to the other Potbelly in Reston. They all liked the subs they ordered. However, during their most recent visit, we were surprised to find out that they "really" liked it---so much so that the youngest one said he wanted to eat there again and thought their Dad would like it, too. Since this Potbelly is closer to where we live, we went there. This one has a small dining area. In the other one, we could all sit together. However, here the biggest tables are 4 tops so we all couldn't sit together. The people who work here are friendly and the man who made our sandwiches was new to the job but there was someone nearby who could help him out. We all ordered our sandwiches with my husband being the last to order. The youngest grandkid had ordered a meatball sub, which is what my husband ordered. The problem was that they used up the meatballs by then and my husband had to wait for them to make up a new batch. Not that it was an onerous task. It involved microwaving some frozen ones and dumping tomato sauce on them. Potbelly is A-Ok. It's not our first choice for subs---that goes to Jersey Mike's which is far better. I ordered a roast beef sub and attempted to replicate the way I get it at Jersey Mike's. That meant putting on it provolone cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, Italian spices plus olive oil and vinegar. Let's just say that Potbelly will never take Jersey Mike's place. The roast beef appeared to be pressed beef rather than freshly sliced. It was edible but nothing to write home about. My husband feels the same way about his meatball sub. That said, the grandkids and their Dad all really liked their subs. Although Dad did admit that Jersey Mike's was better. The grandkids told us today that the next time they visit, they are going to want to go to Potbelly. They're our grandkids and we want them to be happy :) Plus we can't complain as Potbelly is cheap compared to some sub shops. I say, if you haven't tried it, go with reasonable expectations (especially if you've had really good subs before). That way you won't be disappointed. read more

The staff were nice and quick however my veggie melt is dry and missing toppings including the mushrooms that are supposed to automatically come on the sandwich. Also the Mac n cheese is over cooked; the noodles were scraped from the bottom of the pot, completely inedible. I would have returned for a refund but I am not from this area. read more

The staff was friendly, and I like potbelly generally speaking the food is always solid, I stopped in to try one of their soups. I ordered a smaller one but they have me a bigger one and tried to charge me for the larger one. I then asked they give me a smaller one. They then decided to give me the bigger one at the smaller price. There is a small dining area here to eat as well, at the time I was here it wasn't super busy so the place was pretty quiet. read more

The Veggie Melt is by far the best sandwich I've ever had!! I wish we had Potbelly in California because I think I like it a bit more than Ike's sandwiches. The peppers they add have a mild zing to them and I really enjoy that. It's $8.99 for an original size, but I wish it was slightly bigger. I love this chain and I usually don't go for chain restaurants. The staff is always friendly and fast. The restaurant is spacious and full of natural light. Easy to find but I hate that the parking garages now charge for parking on week days! I highly suggest getting a milkshake too they are amazing. read more

Oh Potbelly, you're nothing compared to the Rockville location! I came here after a long day with a friend, hoping to enjoy a delicious chicken salad sandwich and relax. What I got was a dry sandwich, mediocre soup, and the desire to head back out and buy something else. Anything else. In fact, I stopped by Taco Bell later in the night. Yes. It was that serious. Chicken salad isn't supposed to be dry. It's supposed to be moist and flavorful. I have NO idea what went on in this location. The chicken barely had any flavor, and needed copious amounts of mustard to make it bearable. The soup tasted like it came from a can. An old can. I'm not expecting homemade soup here, but couldn't they at least try to make it decent? The bean soup had a faint metallic taste that isn't supposed to be in soup. Or rather, any food at all. I had to drown it in oyster crackers to make it bearable. I will say one thing: this is probably one of the better looking Potbelly locations that I've seen. Everything was meticulous and sparkling clean. Not that it matters, since the food wasn't worth the $13 price tag. Oh well. You live and you learn. read more

Two questions- 1. Where's the turkey? Even Subway puts more turkey on their sandwiches. I could barely taste the turkey and for $8 that's pretty upsetting. 2. What happened to their delicious bread? No clue but mine was stale. I haven't been here since the before the pandemic and wanted to give it a try. Nice little sandwich shop with unique decorations in the middle of rest and drowned center. This place definitely fills up during lunch so we were happy to avoid and get there a little early. The staff is friendly and processes your order very quickly. All the food was delicious and filling. I was working in the area in February and March 2019 and wound up getting a few lunches and dinners here. The food is on par with what I expected from a Potbelly location and was generally prepared in an efficient manner. When I came to pick up dinner on weekday evenings, the place was pretty empty. Once they'd run out of mac 'n' cheese so I substituted the chicken pot pie soup, which I wound up really liking. The staff I interacted with were generally friendly and helpful. Twice I forgot to ask for my receipt before returning to my office with my food; when I came back on my way out for the night, the cashier on-duty was usually the same person who was there when I checked out and was willing to scroll through the past transactions to get to, and reprint, my receipt for me. That was really helpful since I needed to receipts to submit for reimbursements. This location is pretty conveniently located in RTC. There's a lot of other shops and restaurants in the vicinity, as well as a lot of parking garages. read more

When it's a meowy busy day, with back-to-back catnaps scheduled, it is a relief to be able to quickly grab a nice sandwich and get right back to my naps. I am a frequent diner at Potbelly for all of these reasons. As a lover of all deli meats, the Wreck and Italian sandwiches most sing to me. The Wreck is perhaps my preferred of the two, because of the variety of deli meats I can get in one sandwich! In fact, if it wasn't for my worry of becoming a chonker, I'd probably eat this sandwich every day! The order was placed at 5:17pm as of 7:40pm we have still not received our food and the store isn't answering the phone (I've called 3+ times). DO NOT order delivery from this location. I was the only customer in the store, two people behind the counter, not busy making sandwiches. I almost left because they ignored me for approx five mins. Then they decided to serve me after all. Got my order, always have the same thing, and it was the worse sandwich ever at Potbelly. It was cold, tasted like they slapped some cold sauce out of a jar onto the meatballs, the whole thing was borderline inedible. Put me off for good from going back to any Potbelly in the foreseeable future. For this location at least, staying in business doesn't seem like a priority. read more

I've ordered lunch from this location too many times to count over the past several years & 98% of those orders have been made online. This location gets very busy during the lunch rush, so regardless of eating in, carrying out or delivery - online ordering is a must if you don't want to wait in a very long line! My orders have always been prepared by the promised time and/or if delivery is running late, there's a courtesy phone call. Freshness has never been a problem, accuracy has had a 'hiccup' from time to time & quickly rectified when brought to the staff's attention. Box O' Sandwiches has worked well for office meetings & continues to be our office's go-to place for quality food at a reasonable price with RTC area delivery. read more

So i get in town on a business trip. It's already been a long day of waiting in line for cabs, airline check-in, security etc. So after I checked into the Hyatt, I'm looking for a quick bite to eat. I decided that Potbelly should have the quickest service compared to all the other restaurants listed in the Reston Town Center Guide. It's nearly 9:00 on a Monday, so I'm not surprised that the place is nearly empty. Yea for me, I won't have to wait too long. As I approach the counter to place my order there are no less than four employees behind the counter. Excellent! I'll have my sandwich in no time. Not so much...I stand there fully prepared to order my Wreck, but I wait and wait. I'm acknowledged by one of the staff, but they are all in the middle of bickering about who is supposed to clean what, and who is supposed to make the sandwiches. The banter goes back and forth and it's obvious that nobody really wants to help me. Eventually one of them "takes one for the team" and reluctantly helps me. I'm sure they were all thinking, "Geeze, if these customers would just stop coming in, we could all get our sidework done!!" Even if they weren't thinking it, or saying it, they were showing it. So 9 minutes after walking in the door, my sandwich makes it into the oven. Now that it has been sent through and is clearly ready to be assembled. I stand by and watch how the same discussion about TAKING my order continue into another extended conversation about who will be MAKING my order. While that is continuing, the Cashier eagerly calls me over to ring in my order and take my money. At least THAT is a priority. Not Surprising. I figure that now that I've paid, my sandwich should almost be finished. (You know with the excellent team work and all.) Nope, sadly my once toasty and warm sandwich is still sitting there waiting to be completed. It finally gets completed and handed over the counter to me with a less than sincere "here you go...". As if they stopped the sentence short and wanted to finish with "...out the door already!" It ended up taking a full 18 minutes from walking in, to walking out the door to get a simple sandwich. Maybe my expectations were too high for a sandwich shop. Maybe, I was just tired of waiting so much that day. The Sandwich was actually pretty good. (I love the marinated peppers they put on it). Too bad the slow service killed this review and prevented it from being higher. Thankfully there are a ton of restaurants to visit while I'm here. I look forward to trying as many as I can. First timer for a lunch sandwich. Ordered the Italian on flatbread. I'll just say there seemed to be a language barrier with sandwich maker. I asked for lettuce, tomato and onion. Ordered to go, and when I got to destination I found a I basically had a lettuce sandwich. I would tell you to avoid this place like the plague if you at least want pleasant service, but their bagel with butter in the morning is awesome....which is why I even gave it two stars.
