The absolute WORST drive-thru McDonald's experience I have EVER had! I ordered a cheeseburger, small fry, small coke. The fries were leftovers, limp and barely even warm. The "cheeseburger" was a paper thin burger without cheese!!! Small coke was fine ; ) I am scratching this location permanently. read more

This McDonald's has always treated us fine. They're typically pretty quick about taking orders and getting them to you, whether it's mobile order, drive thru or dine in. There's also some super chill people who work in the evenings here so that's appreciated. The food is what you expect from any other McDonald's, but they tend to be fairly accurate with their orders. read more

This is for the one employee who works the drive though in the evening and is incapable of understanding the code from the app. When I tell her the code I get a long pause followed by "I didn't understand anything you said". So I repeat the code as slowly and clearly as possible but get the same thing. Then I typically just leave. Every other attendant says thank you go to the second window. I ordered "Extra Big Mac sauce" just for the receipt (luckily, I checked), said "No Mac Sauce." The polar opposite! We corrected her at first window. Picked up order 2nd window, confirmed order. She claimed there was BBQ sauce in bag, but lied. Proceeded to wait while fries got cold for additional 5 minutes before she opened window and said, "My bad.." Came back home, then to find out the soda was totally FLAT! An absolute unheard of thing for McDonald's. If the fountain machine was broken, should've put a sign up. Never again! read more

This McDonald's location - where fast food goes to take a nap! Placed an order via the app for curbside pick-up at 9:25pm. The golden arches promised nuggets and a chocolate shake, but what I got was a side of wait time and a McDisappointment. After 40 minutes of practicing my car karaoke in curbside spot 3, I went inside to check on my order. Guess what? It wasn't even made! Finally received my food at 10:18pm. No refund, no apology, not even a coupon for a complimentary cheeseburger. Just the realization that I had lost an hour of my life that I'll never get back. Time flies when you're having fun, but it apparently crawls when you're waiting for McNuggets. Every time I come here, a staff member treats with attitude. For example, my wife asked for it possible to put more caramel in a sundae since there was barely any. She was then berated by the employee saying that it's fine the way it was made and that she won't add anymore. It's a simple question, no need to yell or be disrespectful back. I was at this location on Centerville Road in Herndon, Virginia and I witnessed an employee, sneezing his hands he did not wash them. He handle food. I made the manager on duty and they did nothing and person to continue to touch the food, including orders for people that were dining in on open trays, which is completely unacceptable and very disgusting. Absolutely the worst customer service experience ever! I placed a simple order: a 6-piece chicken nugget with a medium fry and Coke, plus a 20-piece nugget with a large fry and a large shake. When I got to the window, I mentioned I was still waiting on the large fry, large shake, and sweet & sour sauce--basic items needed to complete the order, especially with nearly 30 nuggets for my family. I was told I hadn't been charged for the large fry or shake. I said no problem, I'll pay at the window--just please give me the rest of my order. Instead of resolving it smoothly, the employee brings out the shake and then tells me I have to park and wait for the large fry that they forgot to charge me for. I said absolutely not--I'm already here, and everyone behind me is getting fries, so I'll wait at the window. Then the manager comes over and insists I park and come inside to pay for the items they left out. If I wanted to come in, I wouldn't have used the drive-thru in the first place! Watched at least 10 cars go thru with their food. 15 minutes later an employee appears with my food and food for the car that just parked next to me. My food was moldy and the employees didn't want to give me a refund! There was mold on the bun of my quarter pounder so I took it back to the counter. They got me a new sandwich and when I asked for a refund I was told "either way in the end you're gonna get food so . . . ". My options were to take the sandwich with no refund or get the refund and no sandwich. so whatever I go back to my table just to find that the replacement sandwich they gave me also had mold on the bun! This is the worst McDonald's you could go to. I ordered a $5 meal deal and got someone's old returned chicken nuggets. There was ketchup in the container when I opened it and the nuggets were soggy and cold. The service is fast, but wouldn't you expect that if they're serving returned food? UPDATE: My word - you'd think this place would give a damn. Nothing has changed. Same don't-care management and incompetent staff. It's like the owners and management look at what's working and challenge themselves to mess it all up. Horrible experience in the drive thru, start to finish, combined with a patronizing attitude from the shift manager. The entire reason this business exists is to quickly serve cheap and edible food. Some franchises are better than others, but I'm here to tell you this specific location is...a failure. The only thing this location has for me is convenience - it's very close. But the operation is run in an extremely incompetent way. The drive thru is a waste of time. AT BEST they will get your order correct 25% of the time, and that figure comes from several years of ordering. Today was the last straw and I will NEVER come here again. I placed a mobile order and hit the drive thru for pickup. Yeah I was desperate. Nothing special in the order. To their credit they got the order immediately and no issues UNTIL the second window. There I sat for five minutes (I timed it) listening to the crew member and the manager yell at each other. I was then given my kid's drink (bottle of water) and told to park. Gee, park while the water gets warm. I asked the woman to bring everything out at once and was ignored. I then sat in the park area for, yes, FIFTEEN MORE MINUTES. When my food finally came out, you guessed it, it was wrong. Fries just thrown in there and all loose in the bag. A sandwich I didn't order was in there, the one I ordered was NOT, and a Happy Meal I ordered was also missing. The woman who brought out the order (same one who was working the drive thru) seemed surprised. I showed her the receipt and suggested they double check the orders before bringing them out...just as I did 30 years ago as a McD's Crew Member. She insisted on taking the receipt back inside. Sigh. Another FIVE minutes and the yelling manager came out with the Happy Meal, my sandwich, and an order of fries that I didn't order. At this point I just want to leave, after almost a half hour invested in a simple $20 order. Yelling Manager offers me a coupon but I declined since I won't ever use it...as this was my last time coming to this location. Frankly I'll drive to Sterling if the urge strikes me for McDonald's. I get home and start eating - my burger is undercooked (see photo). Turns out the only thing done competently at this franchise is taking orders. I frankly wonder what health department regs are being broken back there in the grill area. I've tried talking to management in the past at this location and it's a waste of time. They simply do NOT care. In sum - the operations at this location are at a level that would have gotten me fired 30 years ago. Do NOT ever come here. EVER. This food is NOT WORTH A HALF HOUR WAIT. Decided to order from the self-service kiosk this time. Sat down and waited for the food to be served. Took exactly 14 minutes to receive the order. That's a tad slow for fast food. My BBQ Bacon burger was very under-cooked! Ironically, with all that time, I'd have expected it to be burned. Lol. Told the manager about it and he replaced it. Hoping I don't get sick.
