Outside of the catfish this was a complete waste of Money!!!! I typically don't do reviews but I felt compelled to say something. The Mac and Cheese was missing cheese, flavor, and seasoning. It was also cold, so I sent it back and it came back the same temperature. The greens were uneventful, coarse, and unseasoned. I ordered the Lemon Cake and to my surprise it was hard and came wrapped in Saran Wrap. That was just my food, my husband and daughter received a 1/4 of a turkey leg of meat if even that with a lot of pasta on top. They paid 25 dollars a piece and that was all the meat they received. My son like me got the catfish but he got his with fries. Overall the meal came to $107 and that wasn't including tax or gratuity. They also charged $3.00 for bottled soda, SMH. I really try and support my black owned businesses, but we have to stop accepting meritocracy as excellence, otherwise how else will we improve? It's a No for me!!!!!! I left unfulfilled and disappointed, save yourself money and get good quality food, dine somewhere else! read more

The first day I went it was amazing but the more I went the more I realized it varied an sometimes they didn't have the stuffed chicken or turkey, or the pasta isn't as good as it usually is, I just suggest practicing consistency. read more

Hanks is delicious the buffalo wings are cooked just right I highly recommend this place the food is incredible I got 3 plates and I usually get full with just one ! Got the Mac and cheese stuffed turkey leg. The turkey leg was great but the Mac and cheese was so plain and had zero flavor.

Great service! Friendly, helpful and very accommodating. We had loaded nachos, very good, made with Doritos chips vs. your regular tortilla chips. They were out of pulled pork when we arrived and we didn't want to wait today so did chicken on the nachos and also ordered a 1/2 chicken and both were very good. The smoked wings were delicious, my two year old couldn't get enough! Everything, including the Mac and cheese, had a kick to it (just peppery) which was fine for us adults but a little too spicy for the two year old. This place is sooo good. My husband and I split Memphis in May. It was a stuffed Turkey leg with pulled pork, baked beans and cheese. Very good and plenty of food for 2. We also had fried okra and corn bread, both very yummy. Our friend had the chicken Alfredo. It smelled amazing and he said it was very good. Can't wait to go back and try something new. read more

Went to Hank's in the middle of the afternoon and was excited about trying a new local eatery on the northeast side. When I walked in I was not greeted or instructed on how they operated. A young lady at the cash register just ignored me for about a minute till I asked to be seated. I was then informed I needed to order through her, which I did and took my seat. I ordered a brisket sandwich and beans. The sandwich came out cold and dry. Very average in quality. The beans were quite good. The price was around $20. Very overpriced for the food and experience. Hanks use mesquite to smoke their meats. That's exactly what you taste is smoke no seasoning. We burped smoke nearly all evening. We ordered a half chicken with macaroni and dirty rice. The macaroni was gummy so was the rice. The chicken was dry and had no flavor, or taste but smoke. The prices are ridiculously expensive. read more

We went to Hanks on Sunday 3/4/24 and got there a little after 11:00 am right after opening. My husband had seen a tik tok review for this place and we were really excited to try it. We walked in and it smelled amazing. There were 2 other tables only at this time. My husband ordered the stuffed turkey leg (The Big Easy) and I ordered the stuffed half chicken with seafood mac and cheese. We also got 2 sodas. You order at the counter and pay at the counter so we were asked to pick a tip amount ahead of having any food and I picked 20%. Our total was just over $73. A little pricey but based on the pictures we would be taking food home and this would easily be 2 meals for each of us. We got our sodas and took a seat. It pretty quickly started filling up after that. There were several people that got their food before us and the 2 other tables that were there before us. The wait seemed pretty long so I checked my receipt to see what time our order was put in, it was put in at 11:08 am. I checked my phone to see current time was 12:05 pm so were were at just about an hour at this point still waiting on food. At this time a server comes up and asks me if I ordered the chicken and I said yes. She told me that they aren't serving chicken today. I asked her why it took an hour for them to tell me that what I ordered wasn't available. She didn't have an answer and asked if I wanted to order something else. In fear that it would add another hour to our already hour wait at this point I told her no that I would just share my husbands. She told me I could go back up to the cashier and ask for a refund. I went back up and asked the cashier for a refund for the chicken. She told me hold on that we would have to go tell her dad. She comes back and we stand there for about 3-4 minutes. A gentleman comes from the back (I assume that was her dad) swipes a card in the register, looks at her and says is that all? He never even looked at me, no apology, no explanation. They refund me $27.14 for the chicken and I go sit back down. Another 20 minutes later and still no food. My husband has had enough at this point and says let's just go get a refund for the rest. We will pay for our drinks because we did actually get the sodas. I go back up to the register, wait in line and tell the cashier that we would like a refund we will pay for our drinks but refund the rest. She asks if I'm sure, I say yes. She tells me to hold on because she has to again go get her dad from the back. Again he comes out swipes the card, no eye contact, no apology no explanation. She issues the refund for the turkey leg, another $27.14 and we leave. Mind you we came from 40 miles away to try Hanks. It wasn't till we were half way home that I realized that we were refunded roughly $54 on a $73 bill. So basically we paid for the sodas and they kept the 20% gratuity and we never got any food. We paid almost $20 to sit in a booth and sip sodas for about an hour and a half. We understand that there was likely something they did not plan on happening that day, maybe an employee didn't show up to put the chickens on to smoke, maybe the chickens went bad, I don't know. But had that dad (owner I assume) when he came out had apologized and said we have had issues today which is creating this experience, it isn't normally like this and we hope that you will come back in the future and give us another chance we definitely would but the whole thing was just so rude and inconsiderate that we won't give them another chance. So I can't tell you if the food was good because we didn't get any. The service was terrible and ambiance at least this day was tense. We by far were not the only ones who didn't get our food, alot of refunds were being issued. read more
