He made the entire process smooth, explained everything clearly, and had my vehicle checked in and serviced much faster than I expected. It's rare to find a dealership where you truly feel that the staff cares about their customers, but that's exactly how I felt today. The service was efficient, organized, and completely stress-free. Sales told me Billy would contact me -- he never did. I was told to go to another Hanlees location, where my nephew waited 4 hours for a repair they said they knew nothing about and then tried to charge for. I've called every department at Hanlees Dodge Davis for days. Sales doesn't answer. Service doesn't answer. The main line doesn't answer. Even the "direct number" they gave me for the GM rings endlessly with no response. No one has taken responsibility or provided any real follow‑up, and the issues from the time of sale are still unresolved. Customers deserve better than this. read more

I took my Chrysler Pacifica in on April 6 due to it shutting down . Only having the car 8 months. I had to call just to find out they had to replace my transmission, I had a rental and told them I had to turn the rental in Tuesday, they told me it would be ready. I called having not heard them , they told me that the car would not be ready till tuesday now, the service advisor called and told me it would not be ready till Wednesday because they could Not get the motor back into the transmission. He said he would call me to get me a rental and never called me. I told him that I had to return my vehicle Wednesday morning. Also this is super inconvenient because my dad who has stage 4 cancer has two appointments and I have an appointment wednesday morning. Communication was not there at all ! Brought my Jeep in last year to get the air conditioner fixed. They charged me $1000 to recharge the Freon and put dye in it. They never told me to come back to have to dye checked. 10 months later air conditioner goes out again. I bring it back there and they charge me $260 to check for dye. They found no dye so they said it must be a bad evaporator and it would cost $4200 to get fixed. I asked them if they were sure it was the evaporator and they said since they didn't see any dye, it must be the evaporator. I took it to another shop And they found out the evaporator is fine. It was actually the condenser and they repaired the condenser for $1400. long story short Hanlee's wanted to charged me about $6000 total and it would not have even finished fixed my air conditioner. read more

In recent years there have been several dealerships (stealerships) that have bulked their customers out of thousands of dollars over MSRP on vehicles. Hanlees is one of those dealers. They charged me $10,000 over MSRP on my Jeep, I bear responsibility as well, don't get me wrong, but where are these dealers now that it's time to trade these cars in? Now they don't want to help Out those they've bilked. Instead now that your $7k upside down on your vehicle they want to offer $10k less than retail value or more, rather than get their vehicle payed off. This is why so many dealerships are in serious trouble. This is why manufacturers are in trouble. This is why banks are lending less and less. Khalid in finance told me that I wouldn't be approved for financing without an exorbitantly priced extended warranty. I am embarrassed to admit I fell for it bc I really wanted the vehicle, but I want others to know that it's actually illegal for someone to tell you you won't be approved without the additional products they want to sell you. Also, they add $1500 to every car for a special paint protecting topcoat that you can't opt out of bc it's already on the car. Summary: Do yourself a favor and do not come here. They have had my car for almost a month and did not submit my warranty claim (I know this because I have been in contact with corporate). I finally had to tow my car out of here to a professional business. I usually do not ever leave reviews, especially negative ones because I like to give places a chance to change and learn from their mistakes. Unfortunately this business will not change and I should have got the hint from the negative reviews left here. I towed my car here on May 19, 2025 because of a battery issue. The week went by with me calling the service center asking for updates but my calls were never answered, nor did I ever get a call back from the voicemail I left. I finally was able to get ahold of my service advisor, Blake, who seemed annoyed that I wanted an update on my car, but he was able to finally tell me what was wrong after a week with no updates. I came into the dealership a couple days later with my father to deliver my service records to submit a warranty claim and Blake was extremely unprofessional. He was shuffling with papers on his desk, avoiding eye contact while we were trying to talk to him. He also took every chance to cut me off when I was trying to talk. We ended up submitting my service records to him and waited ANOTHER week with no updates. We decided to talk to corporate Kia and asked if they received our claim, they did not receive it and told us they would also call Hanlees Kia but Hanlees Kia never answered their calls or voicemails either! We got ahold of Blake an hour later and he said that he submitted our claim but corporate denied it. Hmm that's weird, we just got off the phone with corporate and they received nothing from you. I honestly don't know if he forgot to submit it or submitted it to a different place but he didn't do what he said he did. They held my girlfriends car hostage for nearly a month after running a $300 diagnostic and failing to do ANY repairs or submit warranty claims while it was clearly under warranty. My 21-year-old daughter and I had a very disappointing experience with this dealership yesterday (Sunday). We called ahead of time to verify that a used car advertised on their website was available because we wanted to drive over to see it. We told them that we were just under an hour away, but would drive over as soon as they verified it was on the lot and available. We were told that they needed to verify that it was and would call us back. After 20 minutes with no call, we called and spoke to a different person who said they were trying to locate the keys and would call us back. Ten minutes later we were called and told that the car was being detailed and they wanted to make sure it had enough gas for us to take a test drive. I told them that we would be there in about an hour. When we arrived, we were met with a, "Hi, girls!" by the gentleman at the front desk. (Gross, condescending, and unprofessional...if you don't understand why, ask your wife or daughter.) I didn't catch his name, but I think he may have actually been the manager on duty. We then had to wait another ten minutes for the car to be brought around. The car had been washed, but definitely not detailed. (Honestly, that wasn't an issue, just don't tell me it was in detailing, when later you tell me that it is relatively new to the lot and will be detailed on Wednesday or Thursday when that staff is on site.) The car's low fuel light was on, and the salesman told us he thought there would be enough for a test drive. So far, they had not instilled much confidence in their dealership since they knew we were coming and had an hour to prep the car. The test drive was fine and we liked the two salesmen that we interacted with (Alex and Randy). They were professional and courteous. We discussed putting down a refundable deposit to hold the car so that no one could purchase it from under us before it was ready on Thursday. (Again this is on Sunday.) We agreed. They asked if we wanted to go ahead and work through a contract that again would be dependent on the car passing their full inspection and getting detailed and hopefully removing some of the cosmetic issues. We agreed. This is where it really took a turn for us... I understand that the advertised price does not include taxes and fees. However, on top of that, there were over $5300 in added costs. In looking at the contract they had thrown in two items that had never been discussed with us, nor had we asked for them. The first was a $4000 extended warranty that we declined. The second was a $1300 fee for a paint protection plan that they said is "standard" and cannot be removed. I called BS on that because if it's standard, it would already be included in the listed price. When I expressed my displeasure, the response from the finance director was something along the lines of, "Well, ever since Covid every dealer has added on fees". Nope. Not buying that. We tried negotiating on a price. I told them I would not be paying for a paint protection plan that I had not asked for. After going back and forth with the manager, they came down slightly in price, but refused to remove the entire fee and package. When we expressed our displeasure in how the car wasn't ready and gassed up when we arrived, we were told, "We sold seven cars today." Uh, ok. That's completely irrelevant, and it could have been eight cars that you sold had you not tried to insult our intelligence. It's now Monday, and before I posted this review, I called and asked to speak to the manager (Patrick). I explained that I was about to post a negative review, but decided that I wanted to speak to him first. I asked if he was interested in feedback as to why they lost a sale last night. By far the worse car dealer around the Sacramento area. Read if you are planning to buy from them. Long story short: I bought a Brand new 2022 Laramie from them around end of April. which had paint spots on the hood and tear drops under the hood on the right and left side (see pics). I kept calling them for months to even try to get them to order me a new hood. They kept transferring me from one place to another. For months! The sales manager and GM don't care, service manager never calls back, And the service advisors tell you what you want to hear. It toke literally over 50 calls and 5 months to order me a hood.. On top of that they said installing a new hood will show up on carfax. It's a warranty job not insurance job! Finally the new hood shows up. And they sent it to a paint shop. I asked to be connected to the paint shop to color match the paint on my car. I drove all the way from Sacramento to Vacaville to do that. The paint shop was amazing. But couldn't match it exactly. As the factory paint will always be different then hand paint (see pic). And now the service advisor is telling me to basically call ram if your not happy. I was also planning to buy a 2023 TRX from them. But with a shady business like this I will never! Not to mention that they want 10k over MSRP for pre-order not a car in stock. And the old sales lady with a witch face told me "I do whatever I want for mark up"! When I asked her that most dealers are doing msrp for those orders in Sacramento and 10k under msrp outside of California.. then I got a call from another witch name Nora. She said hey you still interested in TRX. I said to be honest with you it's always a hassle dealing with your dealership. She said "whatever I'll go ahead and remove you from my list". Let me share my tail of woe. I sold them my 2018 Dodge Challenger T/A 6-speed a couple of weeks ago. I couldn't find the title to save my life. Chad told me it was 4 to 6 weeks if I didn't have a title in hand. Due to Carvana getting caught selling stolen cars Hanlees (and most dealers) now wait for proof of ownership. Post COVID thieves have gotten very sophisticated in getting cash from dealerships all over. Fast forward two and a half weeks. I called at 10:30 Saturday (9/21) morning to see if there was someone in finance that could confirm they had the title report from the DMV and I could get my check. The young innocent man who answered the phone told me to fuck off and other kind words of encouragement and promptly hung up on me. I thought that was bizarre of him to act like I do. How dare he out do me? Did he think he was better than me somehow? Did he have the high ground? I decided to drive up to Davis instead of going to church. I pulled up in the parking lot and thought I was having a heart attack. I called 911 and within 30 minutes the paramedics ensured me it was a simple panic attack. I've had them before 6 years ago, that was no "panic" attack. I guess being almost 57 one's body does respond differently as we grow older. They recommended water and focus on breathing. They left me, and I didn't have any water. I went into the showroom and a kid behind the sales desk greeting me and I asked for a bottle of water. He gave me an ice cold one. I went over to the couch and drank it. Those paramedics were right, I was dehydrated. I went over to the other sales desk and had a tantrum worthy of tantrum of the century award of any 3 year old. The dude behind the desk just said you need to speak to Chad. I stormed off pouting he didn't give me my check or return my sports car. About an hour later (ok, 15 minutes) Chad sits down next to me. Looks like he's think "Man, this dude is slow". He started to repeat the last 10 conversations we had. Didn't you think I was being honest when I said 4 to 6 weeks to get proof of title from the DMV? Didn't I say we couldn't cut you a check that week? I said I wanted my car or a check TODAY. He said that was impossible. We went around like two olympic wrestlers trying to win the gold. He asked me an odd question: Did you purchase it outright or finance it? I snapped "Purchased Outright". He walked away and came back: You will have your car or a check on Tuesday. I'll deliver either one to you Tuesday personally. He then said if you don't hear from me call me, don't come back here. I said my lawyer would be the one calling not me. I got home late and his question kept repeating in my mind. I didn't purchase it outright. I bought it from Audi of Oakland and financed it through Alley Bank. I got out my folder and the title fell out. There it was this whole time but before when I checked, it wasn't there. Turns out it's not my wife, my son, or Chads fault Hanlees refused to pay for my car. It was actually my fault. I texted him a copy of the title and apologized for my bad behavior. I planned to turn in the title on Sunday the 22nd but went to check out another used Excursion south of Tracy, only when I got there it was not an Excursion but the tiny Expedition. Driving back we had dinner and I checked Apple Maps to only find out Hanlees was closing in 10 minutes and they were two and a half hours away. I blew it. I didn't them the title as I had promised. Chad never wavered, never said "Hey looser, it's my weekend, my two days off". He texted me back clam as Christ when he pulled Peter into the boat. Hoping today to turn in the title and getting my check. He says they cut checks a couple of times a week. It maybe today or Wednesday. If you are within 500 miles of a Hanlees dealership (or Chad specifically in Davis) well worth the second or third or fourth opinion of what you should do. Buy, sell, or trade I've engaged over 30 dealerships and they are head and shoulders above the rest beyond a shadow of a doubt. I've been taken with extended warranties. Traded in my good car for a lemon. Bought cars the dealership had rotated the tires on (inside out) so the bald spot was not visible but the tire looked good. Had straight pipes without mufflers. Etc.. but that is the past. I know where I will go (assuming they still are talking to me) will be Chad and Hanlees. They are not God. They do their homework and what not. Any car can have hidden issues or if you buy as-is, it is your issue not their's. I do believe they get it right and will stand behind what they say they will do. At the end of the day I have never experienced this anywhere else. They are the rock stars of auto dealerships. They do charge a markup, it's not a non-profit soup kitchen that happens to have homeless fix up cars for them to sell. They may miss something. They are human. They are SUPER HUMAN. read more

We called ahead the night before and spoke with Diego who promised to have the vehicle detailed and ready. When we arrived the following afternoon, Diego said the vehicle hadn't been detailed or prepared. He assured us it would be finished in a couple of hours asked us to wait. We were obviously upset with his lack of follow through. We asked for his manager, David Pilch came out without a mask and refused to put one on. The receptionist dismissively told me the parts counter employee was "at lunch" and I could wait until his return-"probably around 12:30." Please note-the website does not indicate any closed hours for lunch. I asked a service advisor if she could assist (she had no customer), and when I told her what I needed, I was told I'd have yo deal with parts. So I returned at 3:15 (note: their website says parts is open until 4:00). Then I was told that the Parts Department closed at 2:00-so I should come back another day. I recommend Hoblit in Woodland. They'll go the extra mile to assist. And they aren't going to dismiss you like it's a bother. read more

We obviously said no and they said they'd return the deposit no problem. That was months ago. Periodically they tell us the money is coming. It never does. I call about it and they just hang up. Planned a regular maintenance and asked for the engine of my Jeep Liberty to be looked at since I noticed a couple of days before that it made more noise then normal. Appointment set, checked the car in and was told that it would take a day or 2 (brought it in on a Thursday morning). After not having received any updates on Tuesday, I decided to call. 15min into being connected to the 'service department' I finally had someone on the line who informed me that the noise of the engine was due to the fact that the engine was 'knocking' and a new PCM would need to be installed. Part was supposedly not easy to find ... Fine, I would wait a week. That week passed and turned into several unfruitful calls and the request to wait another week. After deciding to go to the garage in person, I was able to talk to the 'service manager' (I forgot his name...) who ordered the PCM and was notified that it would cost $800! Allrightie, the Jeep is worth it, so let's do this. 3+ weeks later (and at least 2 dozen calls - last call 'yes sir , we fixed it') I decided to try my luck and visit the garage again as I hoped the promise of finding my Jeep with a new PCM would be granted. But no no no no, that wasn't the case. Not only was I then told that the engine was completely broken (the knocking sounds was a piston that broke) and a new engine would be needed (estimated at $6k - so I better total the car ) my bill had also risen to over $1k!!!! I would be charged for the PCM (supposedly installed but upon opening the hood, all the cables were loose, the cover was as well, filter box dangling unattached... you get it, dismantled the whole thing) and the 'REPAIRS' ????? So not only did they butchered the engine, they wanted to charge me for it? Ended up paying $400 for the PCM (instead of the quotes $800 - all of a sudden there was a discount ) Never ever again!!!!! Took the car to another mechanic who confirmed the botched job and had to junk the car. Do not go there!!!! read more

The whole sales process, once I said I was ready to purchase the SUV, reminded me of the film 'Glengarry Glen Ross.' The 'discounted' sticker price they had on the vehicle was $28950. Later, after I left Hanlees, I spotted the same SUV advertised by them online for $25,500. $3000 less than the so-called super discounted price they were flogging when I arrived. Rather than asking if I wanted all kinds of needless add-ons, they just slapped them on the purchase inventory, bringing the total to over $35,000, then working backwards from there. I purchased a vehicle from this dealership nearly 3 years ago, every time I come in for service, there are new people here, apparently management can't keep employees, and today sitting, and waiting for my car to be serviced the GENERAL MANAGER, (after being lied to about who he is), felt it was totally okay, in the middle of the sales floor to scold a co worker and use fowl language, when you need to have a conversation, TAKE IT INTO AN OFFICE!! Worst dealership I have ever dealt with, I brought my car in Jan 2024 because it needed the sensors replaced. I have called them many times, they said they ordered the parts and never called me back. I have called them many times and now it is October and still they dodge my calls and do nothing when I call.
