They kept my $400, sent me out, and then bragged about the reputation of their store/last name. It was a brutal look. Long run, I'll gladly pay $400 to know that this isn't a store to do any business with. FWIW.....I ended up taking the watch to another jeweler in Libertyville. They repaired the watch for $275, and it took them around 2 weeks. Nasty and unprofessional attitudea at Dalzell. I do not recommend going here.

I asked for recommendations on a local jeweler and Laura's name came up a few times, as well as being incredibly conveniently located (5 minutes from home!). I called for an appointment and scheduling was easy. For my appointment, I came in and was greeted warmly, and then she got to work. I was BLOWN AWAY by her expertise, as well as her catching 2 smaller diamonds on my band and halo missing. I had planned on "shopping around" and getting quotes, but after just 5 minutes, I knew there was no way I would find anything better. Due to the cut of my diamond, she needed to get some different sizes in and I knew this would take some time. When the first batch wasn't right, she had new ones overnighted so I wouldn't have to wait longer. The second batch was beautiful, and I even upgraded my center diamond. Off it was whisked to get fixed and when I got the call it was ready, I wasted absolutely NO TIME getting to the store to pick it up. Upon pickup, I felt like I had just gotten engaged all over again. I could not stop staring at it, and needed my husband to drive home so I could continue staring at it in the sun. It was beautiful work, and I was so pleased with the results. I found that the pricing to replace my diamonds and get my ring fixed was very reasonable compared to my research online, as well as the timeline to have everything taken care of. The personal touch was absolutely wonderful, and meeting the family was a huge plus, too! Highly recommend!!

I can tell you first hand, when it comes to this store the positive reviews are real. The one negative reviewer who in his post seems to know all the ins and outs jewelry business, like what machines are used to evaluate coins, and what the price of platinum is. Who really knows the price of platinum and palladium besides someone in the business. Gold and Silver yes, but platinum palladium? What also doesn't make a lot of sense is if you have 48K worth of coins, like he claims, wouldn't it make more sense to sell it to another collector or at a coin show to get as much as possible. This makes me very skeptical of the negative review left by Jeff S. and makes me believe the review was left by a competitor or a jackass. What I do know, is I went to 3 different stores to get coins evaluated that my father left to me recently when he passed away in October. This store was the last store of the 3 I went to and they gave me the most money for my coins of the 3 stores. In my opinion the difference was pretty significant. I was very happy and realized that the other 2 stores were basically taking advantage of me. After the deal was completed and I had been paid I asked the the owner Bert I believe his name is and his assistant Jon, why the 3 appraisals from the 3 different shops were of so drastically different for the same items. They explained to me that he could not speak for other shops but in their shop they give the best possible price on items to keep their inventory full and they do not have high margins on items they buy and sell. They keeps the doors open by doing high volume and repeat customers. Well guys you earned a new customer, I will be back for that Rolex one of these days. The price I was given on the spot was very fair. Albert looked at my jewelry, tested it and even had it reevaluated to make sure his appraisal was honest. He then gave me options regarding the jewelry I brought to him, both of which were no pressure. Good pricing and honesty is hard to find when it comes to buying, selling and appraisals. Also, I would recommend coming to check out the diamond ring selection. They're stunning and custom designs can also be made.

My husband purchased my engagement ring from Rahl's as well as we got our wedding bands there. They designed and made a pendant for me from diamonds that I already had (hard to see the detail from the photo) and my mother-in-law had them designed and make a ring from a bunch of loose diamonds that turned out stunning! My husband also has purchased many necklaces and earrings throughout the years for presents for his mother and me and every single one is a "WIN". We have also have all our old rings resized and repaired with them and all look better than ever! They are a family owned business and treat all of their customers like part of THEIR family!
