Most meat I buy is spoiled, 3 containers of shredded chicken thrown in the trash this week! Not to mention the steaks I've bought the hamburger all spoiled but look like they are fresh!! Rotten jars of gravy, bread old when sold as fresh! Moat vegetables are on the verge of being spoiled among so many other spoiled products i have bought!!!Eggs broken sticks to containers! we go to Hanford's out of convenience when we need something for the evening dinner. have never really been happy with the store but it has improved in the past year and a half. their produce section is anything but desirable, pathetic is more appropriate and it lack variety. prices are high also. several years ago, we discovered Market Basket in Keene via a search on the internet, we were over the moon. we were used to Demoulas and Market Basket having lived in Mass for a while. Hannafords has improved however it still does not have the variety and low prices of Market Basket. the people are friendly but the lines are always long. read more

I have been using Hannaford to- go since the pandemic. We live a half hour from the store, and both work full time. So the to-go option works best for us. As of late it's has shown poor staff training on their part. Some items- usually our rotisserie chicken- is paid for, but forgotten. Last time we were told there were no brown eggs and no substitutes. When asked if Hannaford was really completely out of eggs, was told by the girl -to go inside and check for myself- they might have eggs, she wasn't sure. And now for a reason no one can tell us- our online account has a block on it, making it so that we cannot check out our order. I called Hannaford and was told by a kid that he didn't know anything about online orders and to call customer care. My husband and I have called them 4 times in the last 2days. Each time they tell us they will send an email because we need to update something. Each time no email comes- yes we check all folders and confirmed emails. The last time I called- the women I spoke to said she would send an email and I asked her not to. It will only lead to me calling back saying I didn't get it. When I asked to speak to someone else- she put me on indefinite hold. My husband was on the phone w/customer care at the same time. His person actually did try to help and said IT would call us. But they didn't. We tried. Bye Hannaford. After 6 years of weekly orders, we will now try out Market32. read more

They suck! The deli people are all old men with long beards and do not wear bear nets. Gross. Also they are rude. I had my motor bike tire slashed outside there store and they refused to look at the cameras. F them. I will never shop there again. I had to fight to return all my food since I had no way to bring it home. I had to take a bus and walk back with tools to fix my motor bike. The store treated me like I was the problem. Screw them. I came in to buy food. In fact I might go back there and buy the exact same things. read more

I can only say Ok since it was a quick walk through as our hotel was behind it and we saw it each time we went in or out. I have never been in the New England chain before and wanted to compare to what I normally shop at home. And I was looking for a quick taste of something sweet after a quick local pizza place. It was bright, well organized and attractive. I did not compare prices as I did not have much time and I am not from the area. But I found something small and sweet and checked out quickly.it looked similar to our local Kroger store in Boulder where I am a regular, King Soopers at Table Mesa which is similar in size and design. Very different from my regular Whole Foods on Pearl. I need and love them both. read more

This is a decent Hannaford, and I would certainly shop here regularly if I lived in the area. It is well stocked and clean. And of course, since it's Vermont, there is a Vermont Liquor store available. The employees are really friendly and helpful. I thought the produce department was a little smaller than I would have expected for a store of this size, and the quality of the produce was inconsistent, but there were some very good deals. There are fewer self-checkout kiosks at this store than I've seen on average at other Hannafords of a similar size. read more

Whenever I come up to Vermont or Western Mass to visit friends during Sugar Shack season, I conveniently stay at the Colonial Motel and spa across the street from Hannafords. I love to support local businesses but sometimes things get super expensive.. especially when you have to bring gifts home for friends, family and co-workers. I always stop in Hannafords at some point during my trip to stock up on things to bring home. This last time around i found a bunch of local maple syrup (almost half the price of the sugar shacks) maple candies, local honey and I even picked up Vermont maple bread. They are open until 10pm, never crowded at night, which is great, especially when you forgot last minute items or snacks for your trip. The store is super clean, prices are reasonable and the staff is always friendly. And, (unlike the supermarkets by me in NY) they sell wine! But best of all, they are stocked with local maple products at a fraction of the cost which is why I love this place. read more

Hanaford has a good selection of items and is fairly easy to navigate. All departments tend to be well stocked and fresh. Employees are courteous and helpful. Lines can be long at times, but they usually have someone assisting with getting people to the correct checkout lane. When this place isn't busy, you can really zip through and get what you need quickly. Certainly a good store to visit if your on the northern end of Bratt's Route 5. read more

During the pandemic I started shopping more at Hannaford's rather than driving to Keene to Market Basket . The prices are extraordinarily high as compared to the supermarket in Keene . For instance, my favorite hummus costs 40% more at Hannaford's. I stopped at Hannaford's the other day to grab a bunch of cilantro and it was quite small, quite overpriced. Since I was headed to Massachusetts and would be near Whole Foods I stopped in to get cilantro there it was four times the size and the same price as Hannaford's. And we used to call Whole Foods whole paycheck? Hannaford's has earned that name . read more

Hannafords has gone down hill in the past year. They sell expired food, especially meats and produce. Then when you go to checkout, 9 times out of 10 the cashier is not friendly, looks annoyed and is sometimes just down right rude. I will be taking by business elsewhere in the future. read more

We just had an overnight at the Colonial Motel in Brattleboro, VT, and my sister in-law recommended Hannaford's for some drinks and snacks. We were amazed at the selection and even more thrilled by the low prices at the store! The workers are very friendly... Oh, they also have an outstanding selection of beer and wine, although we didn't purchase any for our overnight. We did buy some of the tasty sarsaparilla from Maine Root . I recommend Hannaford's over Price Choppers or Aldi any day! read more

Hannafords in Brattleboro is always well stocked and filled with a wide selection of goods. I stopped in to grab a few groceries, and was surprised at the amount of sugar free options they had in the store. The staff was polite and were willing to help me locate a few items I was struggling to find. read more

Of all the grocery stores, and I shopped at them all. I much prefer Hannaford's over the rest. Best parking, always clean, well stocked, helpful staff, very fresh produce and meat dept. They are currently under renovations that, when done, will add more products, more options, more heathy choices and lets me know they are always looking for ways to be better. read more

Not a whole lot to say here - its you're average Hannaford. Not a huge one but not a complete bust. Clean, well maintained and stocked, pretty good variety of things. Definitely gets busy, as most places on Route 5 seem to. Employees have all been helpful and kind. No pharmacy, but there is a Rite Aid next door. Strongly prefer Hannaford to Price Chopper, so I'm happy its here. read more

We still shop there, but they have discontinued a couple of our favorite products that were the reason we used to ALWAYS shop there. One was the delicious multigrain boule loaf of bread (I think baked on site) and the other the large Inspirations (Hannaford's brand) chocolate bars that were both good and economical.
