In rural maine you have one grocery store to survive from. It's a monopoly on a completely dependent population. In the last two months corporate Hannaford has removed Santa Cruz natural peanut butter and Califia Oat Milk from their stores. Two of the staples I would buy from them and for which there are no alternatives in the same quality/price range. They have done this in the past with over a dozen products I used to purchase. Complain to anyone and they tell you it's just a corporate decision which means the store, the managers, everything about it is just a corporate monster that cares nothing about the population or people it sells to. It's as bad as Big-Y now and that is saying something. Such a shame that corporate greed has ruined an entire chain of once great grocery stores. I will be bringing this up with my local representative. I believe if you have a monopoly on a vulnerable population you are required to continue supplying staples the population has bought for over a decade from you. Getting rid of these staples means people will suffer. Fuck that. Hannaford you're going down and I'll get the politicians to fuck with you soon. read more

The managers are very rude and incompetent. while I was using the restroom, one of the assistant managers tried to kick in the stall door, so I sat up wiped, washed my hands and tried to confront the person when I got out the restroom, only to hear the same voice of the person who kicked the stall door to be none other than the produce assistant manager John Karl and when i confronted him about it he raised his voice at me while talking down to me like I was a child and when I went to his manager she didn't care and just blew me off. Another place I worked at in high school. I definitely like shopping there much more than I did being a cashier! I'm always so impressed with the cheese selection for a place like rockland. Also, there is ALWAYS someone stocking the produce area for you to ask to go find an obscure herb you are looking for! The butcher area is not as well staffed but people are always very helpful if you ask them to cut something special or need help with cooking directions. Some of the cashiers are more friendly than others but overall it's usually a nice experience. They consistently have local items that are marked for purchase. The fact that they charge a fee for you to buy groceries , drive there to ick them up curbside s/b considered an extortion fee. NO other GS charges a fee for customers to pick up groceries... not to mention, they don't have the most best prices . read more

We found this store after brunch at Home Kitchen Cafe this morning, despite Apple maps, which consistently misdirected us (1 star for them!) until we switched to Google maps in exasperation and were directed right there. We needed to buy more produce, stevia, crackers and orange juice for the rest of our stay. I had one bag in the car from the Hanaford in Wells. This Hanaford had a sign posted at the register indicating that the town of Rockland had a prohibition against single use plastic bags, was encouraging the use of reusable bags and was charging 5 cents for paper bags. My wife and I are spending a few days away in the Rockland area. After eating dinner on the first night we looked at each other and knew we needed to pick up some snacks, drinks and some milk for our breakfast cereal. Our very first thought was that there must be a Hannaford around so we Googled it and low and behold there was one just minutes away. That really is one of the benefits of the Hannaford chain. They are dependable and offer items at a competitive price. So, my wife and I picked up some seltzer water, bananas, chocolate chip cookies and of course the breakfast milk. read more

This is the worst pharmacy I've used. Prescriptions called hours ahead not ready and require a 30-minute wait. Unacceptable.

I just moved to the area. Went there for the first time got charged for 3 items when I only bought 2 of that item. Not a big deal mistakes happen. But in the same trip I bought 2 tomatoes for 12.00 dollars they were 2.99 a lb you do the math there... Those are some big tomatoes. Needless to say I will not be returning. read more

Seems they renovate this location every few years and add new products all the time. I think this location rivals grocery stores I've been to in larger communities. Surprising selection of items. Large wine & beer selection and an array of hard liquor as well. read more

If you're vacationing near Rockland, this Hannaford's is a great grocery store. It is comprehensive: specialty items, prepared foods, a pharmacy and general drugstore area, and lots of local items. The local produce stand is quite nice in the summer. You can really stock up a vacation house (as we do each year) here, and there are many generic and organic options for staple items. The staff are very helpful and the lines aren't too long, even in peak season. If we had this branch of Hannaford's in our hometown, I would go to it quite a bit. read more
