We asked for a shorter time since it was my daughter's spring break. At first they said it was ok but then they changed their mind. They insisted on a minimum of three weeks. I think that they run a racket on the tesla loaners and charge the insurance with luxury rentals. Their main focus was to secure as much money they could procure for themselves ignoring all the requests of the customers. In total they took around $12,000 for a repair of less than $2000 for an average paint shop. (they tell everyone a minimum of three weeks!)

I arrived at the shop 20-30 min after that phone call and found that the car would not start when I arrived. As mentioned previously the car was running and was driven to their shop and had to be towed out. The owner states they would like to handle this offline. As stated they will not return my calls and in the time it took to write that response he could have called me but did not. They did not charge me (I would hope not after damaging my car and performing unauthorized work) but it cost me $1200 to just to repair the damage they caused. The receipt is attached. I don't want anything from them at this point beyond admitting their mistakes and an apology for damaging my car and lying to me about it. But I know that's not going to happen so I just want to warn others to beware of this shop. Use their services at your own risk.

The customer service was great. It was easy to get an appointment and connect with my insurance company to get the damage fixed. It has been my intent to call them to see how much they would charge to solely detail my car in the near future because it was that shiny all over and so spotless inside. HOWEVER - last week, I brought the car in because we had driven over a massive pothole and a) had some weird front-end alignment/rattling issue and b) the check engine light had come on (codes indicated cat converter and/or O2 sensor). Lains checked everything out, said nothing looked amiss on the front-end and the cat checked out ok. They cleared the code and assured me everything would be fine for the 2-week trip to upstate NY I had planned next week. A few days later, I was stopped by a concerned auto mechanic who had noticed my front passanger wheel was "wobbling". We took a look and determined that the front lower control arm bushing was damaged/loose. He tightened things up (temp fix I presume) and declared that "Ray Charles could've spotted that problem. How had my mechanic missed it!!" I have the same question. Fast forward to last night and I'm on the beltway and can't accelerate over about 40mph... check engine light is back on with a code for the cat. Clearly NOT ok as Lains had stated. I went back to Lains to confront them about these things they appear to have missed and was told - "sorry - we don't have any time to fit you in before the holiday". Needless to say, I took the car somewhere else to get properly repaired before my trip. I hope Lains continues to be "busy" with their other customers who they haven't p*ssed off... I personally plan to take some of the burden off them by no longer being one of those customers. Caveat emptor! --a disappointed former customer p.s. I will add that Brian has always been great. I was told he was "out of the country" so I couldn't speak to him about this issue. Perhaps I just got the "b-list" replacement staff while he was out ... in any case, I can't take risks with my safety and money because the owner is on vacation. maybe they need to hire some better back-up staff.

I brought my BMW in because the A/C was blowing warm air. The manager told me they would recharge…read morethe system with Freon. After performing the service, he came back and said they had removed the hot air and recharged the A/C, but it still did not work because the compressor was bad. I was then charged $226. My concern is that a proper diagnosis should have been performed before charging me for a Freon recharge. A qualified mechanic should first determine whether the problem is low refrigerant, a leak, a faulty compressor, or another A/C system issue. Instead, I paid for a service that did not fix the problem and was then told the compressor was the actual cause. I feel that the issue should have been diagnosed correctly from the beginning. This experience left me feeling misled and disappointed with the level of honesty and professionalism provided. I would not recommend this shop based on my experience.
