Can't remember what this dish is called but the flavor was out of this world.

This place has great Vietnamese food! My favorites were the pork sausage (app) and the nested egg rolls. They were both super flavorful. The service was friendly and the food came out super fast! There is parking in front and in back and it's much larger inside than it looks. The ambiance is pretty simple but it was clean and fresh inside. They were out of tofu today, no biggie but the chicken I had with my noodles, while flavorful was a little dry and the regular egg rolls had a pretty boring taste, especially after the other food. Otherwise, definitely recommend!

We tried this place again since we were in the area. There was a pretty bad smell inside this time. The server quickly sat us and brought waters. The bun mam was pretty good. I give it a 4/5 stars if you can eat shrimp paste. The smell is very pungent if you're not used to eating southeast Asian foods. I can see why a lot of people don't like the dish. The netted eggrolls were amazing. 5/5! The banh mi Chao was 4.5/5 stars. The tomato sauce was a little too much for me. The rice plate with filet mignon was 2.5/5 stars. The rice was undercooked. The waitress said they had to throw it out after we notified them. They gave us some garlic noodles instead. The filet mignon meat was very chewy. The flavor was good tho.

I wanted to like this place and I hope they will improve since it looks new. Location--good place downtown. Tiny parking lot in front of it so plan for street parking. Staff--friendly. Food--partner got crab fried rice and that was good. My issue is it's got Hanoi in the name but the bún chã was disappointing. Herbs--it's mainly just mint. The lettuce js shredded. Please give us lettuce leaves or something that resembles lettuce leaves. Not shredded lettuce. There was only TWO patties in the serving. The rest was sliced pork. It was 8:2 sliced pork to patties and should've been thr reversed. At least give us 4 patties so we can see if it is good or not.

I love the netted rolls here! Airy, light, and crispy. The northern pho was delicious and satisfied my cravings, although would prefer a bit more spice/herb flavors in the broth. The crab fried rice was a decent try but probably wouldn't order it again. Service was good and respectful!

WHY WE WENT HERE: - lunch THE LOOK (FROM THE OUTSIDE): - located at the corner of J St and 33rd St - extremely limited parking in the parking lot; additional parking available on the street if you walk over THE LOOK (FROM THE INSIDE): - decent amount of seating - clean, lots of natural light available - we got to sit in a booth which felt more comfortable and private THE MENU: - appetizers - jasmine rice - pho - banh mi - garlic noodles - vermicelli bowl - bun cha Hanoi - beverages - weekend special WHAT WE ORDERED: - Strawberry Lemonade - Lychee Lemonade - P3. Tai Nam Gau Pho - Stir-Fried Beef Banh Mi with Mayo and Pate on the side - Egg Fried Rice THE TASTE: - lemonades were refreshing - pho broth was good and overall filling - wished the beef in the banh mi was thinly sliced vs thick cube chunks; it was tasty but hard to bite into - egg fried rice was very aromatic and fluffy, haven't tasted anything like it CUSTOMER SERVICE: - warm - welcoming - accommodating

I'm a fan of Vietnamese food, and thought I'd be adventurous. I tried something new to me- bun dau mam tom. It came with a combination of ingredients. I thought the addition of pineapple was a bit odd. It also had a piece of plastic on it. Anyways, I started by dipping the vermicelli into the fermented shrimp paste. The paste was in your face- POWERFUL. The waiter gave me fish sauce afterward for dipping instead. Honestly, I didn't care for this dish. The only thing I really liked was the crispy pork sticks. I also ordered the netted egg rolls to go. They were enjoyable. There is a shared small parking lot in the front and I managed to get a spot. If you're not as lucky, there is also parking in the back.

Eating at this restaurant was refreshing and delicious. I was excited to see so many traditional selections that weren't watered down for the typical palette. We had this on our checklist of places to go, so we went all out on our order to share. We got bun dau mam tom for 2, Banh mi chao, and fish sauce chicken wings. For drinks we got strawberry and lychee lemonade. The fish sauce wings... FIRE! We ordered way too much food. Next time we'll get the bun dau mam tom for 1 when sharing a variety of things. I loved the dish, but wasn't a fan of the noodles. I prefer the netted noodles, or the noodle the vermicelli noodles they had but not bunched up like a rice cake. It made the texture very chewy. The bun dau mam tom is definitely for the adventurous. It has innards that only a person with a love of all foods would enjoy. As for the banh mi chao I enjoyed it, but the tomatoes were too juicy and should have been seared a little. The banh mi bread that comes with it was soooo good. As far as service, the owner was carrying a customers baby while she ate . I thought it was so kind of her to lend a hand to those parents who probably just wanted to enjoy a meal. Super nice folks in there . I am a strong critic of Vietnamese food, but I give the food a 4/5 and with service 5! Recommend !

Everything was so tasty! We ordered the pho without meat, netted egg rolls, and the pork banh mi. The bahn mi had really good flavor and very filling. My dad was only able to eat 1 half. Why could he only eat half you ask? Because it was filled with a lot of meat which was awesome! The smell of the pho took me right back to my time to Vietnam. You have the option for regular or fresh noodles, I chose fresh, but I think I'll try regular next time. The netted egg rolls had the perfect soft to crunchy ratio and I recommend you order them! I also recommend the lychee lemonade, it's so refreshing and topped with 2 lychees! Service was fast! Staff was friendly. I'll be back!

Garlic noodle goodness! My best friend and I wanted to find a spot for lunch, and we ended up at Hanoi 36 Streets. We came on a weekend, and it wasn't too busy--definitely a casual neighborhood restaurant charm, nothing fancy, just good food. The restaurant is well-sized with a variety of tables and booths. There was a steady flow of customers coming in and out, with group sizes ranging from small to large. Being a party of two, everything came out quickly, and we were taken care of. Service was good, and they offer both dine-in and take-out. We ended up sharing the Spring Rolls and Grilled Pork Garlic Noodles. The portion was giant for us both, so we took them to go. I loved how fresh and packed the spring rolls were. They were flavorful and filling. The garlic noodles were superb, and the meat was great. All the flavors were there! I'd love to come back to try their other options. Midtown has lots of eateries, and if you're craving Vietnamese cuisine, give Hanoi 36 Streets a try! Great food in a casual atmosphere. They have free parking in their lot behind and are located off J Street.

Ordered the beef bahn mi and it was delicious. The Beef was tender yet Chewy-the patte and mayo gives it a nice savory creamy flavor. It really elevated the usual flavors of bahn mi which is usually more dry. I also ordered the beef stir fry pho. I enjoyed the taste of the broth- it had a deeper concentrated flavor because of the beef stir fry juxtaposed to the usual lighter pho flavor. Service was fast and the restaurant was clean and nice inside.

Midtown has so many great eats and Hanoi 36 streets is definitely worth the visit. The menu is pretty simple compared to other pho restaurants, but there's a lot of variety. Ordered the netted spring roll, pork vermicelli, and rare beef pho and they were all so delicious. They gave a generous portion of meats in the pho and they were so tender! My only feedback was that the noodles were a little soft. Overall, the service was really fast and the staff were so attentive and friendly. Love the mural inside the restaurant! :)

This place is definitely my top 3 Pho place in Sacramento. I love their netted egg rolls, tai lan pho, and fish sauce chicken wings. Tai lan pho was packed with smokey flavor, the netted egg rolls was super crispy, and the fish sauce chicken wings was packed with so much flavor and super crispy on the outside and juicy inside. The service was standard and the ambiance was quiet and not a lot of people at lunch.

10/10, quick and yummy. Tried a couple dishes with friends. The pho was yummy and the wings over garlic noodles superb. Great service and chill vibes.

I appreciate the decor when you walk in - it's like half modern along with paints as if you're from Vietnam. Special spring roll combo - sooo healthy. Make your own spring rolls. It comes with nem nuong (sausage pork), vermicelli noodles, crispy rice paper, lots of veg). Dipped in their sauce, it was definitely my fav. It's interesting that their sauce consistency is thick. Banh xeo - I wish it came a little crispier.
