I honestly would probably not recommend this thai place to friends ... but it is in a quick and easy location when hungry after movie/shopping. Good: Egg rolls and shrimp tempura. Real hot n crispy goodness. Bad: the noodles. I got the thai chow mein and the flavor was so off to me that it tasted like it was made in a dirty kitchen sink and my dog's food smelt better than it. I couldn't eat it even though I was hungry. my husband ate the noodles thought and liked them jso maybe it's just me lol My friend got drunken noodles and felt it was so salty she couldn't eat it. Located by the Arden Century movie theaters, this unassuming Thai restaurant is bustling with customers who come in and out, many to pick up orders. Feeling crabby we tried the Mango Sticky Rice, Thai crab curry and Thai Crab Fried Rice! The Thai crab curry had a lot of rice, and the spice level can be mild, medium or more. The crab fried rice was also good, and I appreciated how both dishes weren't oily. The servings are large and can be for 2. Out and about with my daughter, we stopped for some lunch She got a medium Heat Pork Belly with pot stickers and Thai Tea, I got Beef Pad Thai mild, with egg rolls and a coke. Place was clean and quiet, staff was friendly and quick to take order and prepare food. I decided on Thai pork belly rice, eggrolls and party wings. I also got Thai tea and mango sticky slush to-go. Thai pork belly: the pork was so flavorful. Some pieces of the pork were a bit tough. Even though I asked for non spicy, default had a tiny kick. A good bowl or rice though! Eggrolls: be cautious when eating this. Inside was super hot! The filling was a bit peppery for me. Skin was crispy. Nothing special imo. Party wings: too much battened. The sauce reminded me of the Korean yangnyeom sauce. The wings were ok but wouldn't order again. This was my third time trying to talk, and I originally would have left a good review, but this time around I got food poisoning. They clearly have unsafe kitchen practices because I ordered chicken pad Thai. It was the only thing I had eaten in over 24 hours so there's no doubt that they are the culprit. In addition my daughter took a couple of bites of my food and began feeling really sick as well. When I finally felt well enough to call them to notify I spoke with someone named Sal. He lacked empathy as well as basic Customer Service skills. He even insinuated that I was lying about being sick because he said no one else had called to report food poisoning. I am disgusted not only because they are clearly serving poor quality food but also how I was treated on that phone call was inexcusable and disheartening. I believe it was close to a 20 minute wait for the food to come out and the cashier was often not available when customers would come in to order which only added to peoples wait time. Tuk Tuk Thai is a new restaurant edition to the Arden complex where there's a Nordstrom rack, my favorite HomeGoods store, and the movie theater! This is literally one stop enjoyment all the way. We normally would be heading over to the movie theater, but since I was on my own, I thought I would give Tuk Tuk a try. You can order on their website, but I found it easier to walk my pretty little self in and just order at the counter. Originally, I was planning on dining in, but the space is very small and a few tables were already filled so I ordered to go. The staff is super friendly and very helpful. We just have to remember to ask questions! If you're looking for " the deal" to get here, it's the "meal". Seriously it is the best price for what you're getting. It comes with your entrée, and a smaller version of an appetizer and a full drink. What's not to love?! I decided to try the Thai basil, and asked for it to be mild, not knowing what the heat level would truly be. I absolutely should've ordered this with a little bit more heat. While it was tasty, it was way too bland for me and that absolutely is on me. The Thai basil bowl was flavorful, and the portion was pretty generous! I normally love basil, but this wasn't doing it for me. It could just be because I wanted more flavor that may have been there had I added a little heat to it. I definitely want to go back and try some of the other dishes. The pot stickers and the dipping sauce both were really tasty. Because I ordered it to go and I had at least a 30 minute drive, while they were still tasty, they absolutely would've been better. Had I enjoyed them dining in. The Thai tea was absolutely my favorite. The machine they use is so super cool! They fill the container/cup that they're giving you with the Thai tea. and then place it on this machine. The machine seals the container with the lid and you literally have a perfect to go drink. This kept my drink, cold all the way home! I love the little pop top because of the design! Totally old school and I'm here for it. I do love that this is so close to the movie theater that it would be easy to grab a meal, and head over to see a movie. This was my first time trying Tuk Tuk Thai and I already can't wait to go back! I ordered the green curry with chicken and the Thai egg rolls, both were absolutely delicious. I'd seen the sign announcing that this place would open soon and was pleased to see it's open when I left the movies the other night. The inside is cute, bright and trendy and I felt comfy waiting for my takeout order. The yellow curry with chicken was bomb and included rice, which is a sign of a solid Thai place for me since I hate paying separately for rice on dishes that normally include them. The Thai basil rice dish with veggies was flavorful as well; was surprised to see the veggies on the side of the rice instead of mixed in, since the menu picture makes it look more of a fried rice but I went with it and it was delish. You can do meal combo set by adding $5.95. They accommodate spicy or non-spicy. The food was served hot and freshly cooked. The portion is quite decent. The flavor suited us. The pad Thai used thin rice noodles, but they're a little chewy for me to bite. The chicken was tender. The yellow curry was really flavorful, and the beef wasn't too hard to bite. And it comes with jasmine rice. We love crab fried rice. They use real crab instead of imitation, which is really lovely. But halfway through, we found a short hair, we didn't confront the staff. You walk in and order from the counter and then I bring it out on the tray and plastic bowls or paper bowls, do you go up and get your own plastic spoon/fork/chopsticks, water and napkins and then you clear your own tray. The food is packed with real Thai flavors, but not quite right. I sort of enjoyed my spicy green curry with chicken that was made to order. Chicken perfectly cooked and tender, not too much of it . Fresh veggies and comes with a side of jasmine rice. Not a go-to Thai restaurant but tasty and fresh. They are not shy about adding the heat so err on side of less spicy when in doubt. I prefer a richer thicker coconut-milk version than they make, and there was a flowery flavor that overwhelmed the normal taste of green curry. This is a new restaurant in the HBA shopping center. I understand the complexity of opening a new restaurant so I leave this review in the spirit of learning. The food is good but a bit under seasoned and can be a bit bland. The service is really bad though. I have been in three times and, with no one in line, had to wait for several minutes before I even saw an employee. The staff is not friendly, never smile and don't understand the menu offerings in order to help customers decide what to order. I hope you can turn this around. read more

I got the green curry. Asked for extra mild but it was still spicy. I normally can eat a bit spicy. So there's nothing they can do about the getting the spicy level mild at this restaurant. When I said eat in, I thought they would put the food in glass bowl but it was in plastic bowl. That didn't go well with me. This quick Thai food experience was fantastic! Located near other easy to access restaurants like Bonchon and Smash Burger, this place is fast and tasty! I really had no expectation that this would come close to some of my fav Thai joints but came away very happy. We ordered the crab curry and the yellow chicken curry and - why not - the mango sticky rice. All were delicious. The yellow chicken curry was up there close to some of my local favorites, although I would suggest softer potatoes (they had that kind of less cooked taste) I really enjoyed them. Also the little red pepper slices on my spouse's crab curry (stolen without permission to add to my curry) were a nice touch. The crab curry was a little spicier. Portion sizes were great. I feel like one measure of a good Thai dinner is having left overs for next day lunch, and this was perfect reheated. The service is counter service but they brought our food to us outside. I decided to come here because there's a Tuktuk Thai Street Food location in Midtown, but I can't really drive out there, so I went to the Arden location instead. It's in a convenient area near a shopping center, which is nice. I wanted to try it because I love Thai food, and as an Asian person, it's one of my comfort foods. I've been seeing this place all over Instagram from Sacramento-based influencers, especially the Midtown location, but I've also seen plenty of reviews saying it's just okay. After trying it, I feel like it might be a bit overhyped. I ordered the Thai pork belly rice plate. You can add an egg for extra, and while an egg would've helped balance the greasiness, it felt overpriced. Flavor-wise, it's basically the same flavor profile as Thai basil chicken or pork you get at most Thai places. Because of that, I'd give it a 3/5. It's not the best, not the worst, but still decent. If I came back with someone, I'd probably order this again--or just get Thai basil chicken instead since it's essentially the same flavor. I usually don't like fatty meat, but the pork belly here seemed lightly crisped before being stir-fried, so it wasn't overly dry. I do think more green vegetables would've helped balance the dish, but for what it is, it's a solid 3/5. I made it into a combo and chose the egg rolls over potstickers. Unfortunately, the egg rolls were 1/5. The flavor was okay, and the wrapper was crispy and thin, but they didn't have meat (my fault for not reading closely). Vegetarians or people who don't like very meaty egg rolls might enjoy them. You get two egg rolls with sweet chili sauce included, which I appreciated. However, for the price (around $8.95 on their own), they're not worth it. You can get better value egg rolls with meat at other places around Sacramento. For that price, I'd honestly rather get veggie spring rolls from Panda Express. For the drink, I chose the coconut water, and it was also a 1/5 for me. It tasted like plain water with a hint of coconut and wasn't sweet at all. Some people may like that, but I prefer sweeter coconut water. Even if you like lighter coconut water, you're better off buying it from the store. I only ordered it because I'm caffeine-sensitive and Thai tea feels too heavy. I'd skip this next time. I also ordered the Pad Thai. I prefer Pad Thai slightly sweeter, and while I'm glad this place doesn't do the peanut butter-style Pad Thai (which I hate), this one was still just okay. The noodles were thinner than what I'm used to and very soft, which threw off the texture. I ordered chicken and still got some tofu; the meat portion was okay but could've been better. The lime didn't help much, and overall it felt like the dish was missing something--maybe salt or more umami. Pad Thai: 1-1.5/5, leaning closer to 1/5. I also ordered a side of fish sauce with chili. The flavor was fine, and I appreciated that they included actual chili peppers, but the portion was extremely small and not worth the price. If it were cheaper or more filled, it would've been fine, but I wouldn't order it again. Overall, I'd rate this place around a 2-3/5, realistically closer to a 2/5 for me.
