I have had a really great experience living at Hanover, and a big part of that is the team. Darren, Mariah, Taryn, and Elizabeth have all made day-to-day life here feel easy and well taken care of. Also, Codiey is a great team member, making sure that every property is maintained, and he is very responsive!! The property is consistently clean, well-maintained, and feels safe, which matters most. But what really stands out is that this team genuinely cares. You can feel it in how responsive they are and how they handle things without making it complicated. Mariah was especially kind and helpful during the leasing process, which made a stressful decision feel simple. Taryn made sure my move-in was smooth, which set the tone right away. Overall, it is clear that Darren is leading a strong team that takes pride in its work. I feel fortunate to have landed here and to have a team like this supporting the building. I lived here for over a year and while the building itself is nice, the management team at Hanover Hollywood (and The Hanover Company) is a nightmare to deal with--both during the lease and especially when you try to leave. The Financial Warning (The Big Issue): When I moved out, I left the apartment spotless and took 4K video proof. Despite this, they hit me with illegal deductions for cleaning and damages. When I asked for the invoices (which they are legally required to provide under CA Civil Code 1950.5), they ignored me. Instead of providing proof, they played games with my online ledger. They double-billed my account, then deleted specific charges and replaced them with vague "Security Deposit" labels to try and hide what they were charging for. They refused to fix it until I sent a formal "Notice of Intent to Sue." They finally refunded me, but only because I knew the law and fought back. The Day-to-Day Incompetence: The deposit issues shouldn't have been a surprise, because the management was disorganized from Day 1: No Onboarding: When we moved in, they didn't even bother to do a walk-through with us. No Access: No one told us how to use the Luxor package room or how to access our deliveries. Key Failures: They didn't have mailbox keys ready for us for a full week. When they finally got them, they only gave us one key for two tenants. We never received a second key. Parking Chaos: Months into our lease, they assigned our parking spot to another tenant and forced us to move to a new spot because of their error. The Verdict: It's a great location, but be prepared for a headache. They are disorganized while you live there and predatory when you leave. Advice to future tenants: Film everything. As a young woman living in this so-called "luxury" apartment for the past six months, I strongly advise others to look elsewhere. Upon move-in, I was given a non-functional fob and had to chase down staff for weeks to get it fixed. One night, while trying to access the building after work, I was stopped and questioned aggressively by a courtesy patrol guard. He blocked my path and treated me like a trespasser in my own home--an extremely unsettling experience. He eventually let me in but not before making a point to "report" me to management, even though the fob issue was entirely the building's fault. Package pickup is another ongoing issue. I regularly have to check four different locations, and if the leasing office is closed (which it often is), I can't access packages placed there. Some deliveries have gone missing entirely. One evening, a homeless individual entered the lobby and stole grocery items. Unfortunately, safety and basic organization are not priorities here. While the apartment unit itself meets expectations, the overall management, communication, and operations of the building fall short compared to other luxury communities I've lived in. Leasing & Management Communication: Leasing was difficult due to ongoing unresponsiveness via phone and email. This has continued throughout my stay, requiring in-person visits to resolve even basic issues. Management communication remains inconsistent and often unhelpful. Administrative and Billing Issues: Accounting errors and over-billing took nearly three months to resolve, and required several follow-ups. I moved in Oct. 24 and my ledger was not corrected until Jan. 25. Work Orders & Maintenance: Maintenance requests regularly take several days to be addressed. My most recent work order took 12 days and was only resolved after escalating the issue to a manager. Additionally, residents are expected to pay for basic maintenance items such as light bulbs--services typically included in comparable properties. Misleading Leasing Information: Leasing staff made several inaccurate claims that influenced my decision to move in, including the availability of guest parking (not provided), complimentary amenity reservations (which are not), and the absence of sound issues between units. In reality, noise transmission is a concern, and I would not recommend this community to noise sensitive folks. Package Management & Security: Package theft and mismanagement have been an ongoing concern. In one instance, groceries were stolen shortly after delivery to the lobby. Despite reporting the incident and asking if they have camera footage for my police report, I received no response from management or courtesy patrol, and still haven't. This lack of accountability is especially concerning in safety-related matters. Amenities & Facility Upkeep: Despite the building's relatively new age, amenities show significant wear due to lack of maintenance. The rooftop fire pit was inoperable during a recent visit, elevators are frequently down, and the pool is unheated. Common areas are not consistently cleaned--even after large gatherings. Additional Fees & Inconveniences: Residents pay $85/month for unreserved parking, a $35/month amenity fee with unclear benefits, and must manage all outgoing mail offsite as it is not accepted at the front desk. In summary, while the unit itself is livable, the management's lack of responsiveness, repeated administrative errors, and poor upkeep of community spaces significantly diminish the quality of life. I've never experienced such a frustrating and disrespectful application process. For over a week, I tried to reach the leasing office regarding my application--multiple calls and emails with no response at all. During my tour, I clearly explained that I'm self-employed and would be applying with a guarantor. I was explicitly told this would not be an issue. However, once the guarantor application step came up, communication completely stopped. No follow-ups, no explanations, no replies--despite repeated attempts to contact them. The lack of basic communication made the entire process feel dismissive and unprofessional. It honestly felt like they had no interest in renting the apartment, despite advertising availability. The fire alarm goes off CONSTANTLY at all hours if the day. As someone who works remotely this is starting to impact my career in a serious way. The alarm has went off 50+ times in October alone. Today they said they will be "testing the alarm" until 5PM, no notice was provided to residents until an hour before the alarms started going off. They have been ringing every 3 minutes for the last hour. This is just one of countless ongoing issues in the building, I would advise against signing a lease here. I lived in this apartment complex for two years, and honestly, it was one of the worst living experiences I've had. The fire alarms go off constantly -- sometimes at 2 a.m., sometimes at 4 a.m. -- and everyone has to evacuate to the ground floor. It happens so often that it becomes extremely annoying and stressful. The neighbors are not friendly at all, and the place attracts a lot of thieves. I had my scooter stolen, and my car was broken into several times. Even though the parking garage is supposed to be "secure" with gated access, the main gate was broken the entire time I lived there. The secondary gate also broke frequently -- sometimes trapping cars inside or outside. One time, I almost missed an exam because my car couldn't get out, and management didn't care or offer any compensation. Speaking of management -- they changed teams about two years ago. The original staff was kind, responsive, and genuinely tried to help residents. The new management, however, is the complete opposite: rude, unhelpful, and always trying to find excuses to keep your deposit. They charged me extra after I moved out, even though I left the unit clean and in good condition. The rent here is way too high for what you get. There are much better and cheaper apartments nearby without all these problems. The location also isn't as convenient as they claim -- traffic is terrible and getting anywhere takes forever. Between the constant fire alarms, theft, broken gates, and horrible management, I strongly recommend you look elsewhere. Do not move here -- it's not worth the stress, time, or money. read more

The building is nice, but their application process is disappointing. During the viewing, I clearly asked how income verification works, and they told me three bank statements are enough. I started the application process and discovered that THEY REQUIRE BANK ACCOUNT ACCESS for a third-party company that is UNDER COURT INVESTIGATION FOR NEGLIGENTLY STORING SOMEONE'S DATA. The agreement with this company states that even though you provide bank account access once, they can essentially sell that data for advertising purposes. When I tried to contact this company to find out how my rights would be protected, it turned out they don't even have a call center, and no one answers the phone, making them a sham. When I clicked the "I won't share information" button and tried to contact Hanover, all my messages were ignored, and they never called me back. Their agreement also states that if "the system detects false documents," they will forfeit your deposit. And this despite the fact that the company they use for this doesn't provide evidence and often makes mistakes, as evidenced by internet forums. When I applied for my previous apartment, this same company rejected my documents as "fake," but the leasing office was flexible. I went to the leasing office and, right in front of them, opened all the documents in my banking app and showed them so they could verify all the numbers and prove there was no fraud. So, I actually don't understand why I paid money to submit the application: 1. The employees lied to me about the verification process. 2. The verification process wasn't completed because no one wanted to contact me. 3. They use a company that sells your data, wants full access to your account, doesn't have a call center, and is under federal investigation. 4. The second stage of verification involves using an app that returns errors more often than accurate information. read more

Hard pass. This place is the definition of "looks good on Instagram, absolute chaos behind the scenes." The customer service? Basically nonexistent. You can call, email, or send a carrier pigeon--either way, you're not getting a response. The leasing office keeps the weirdest hours imaginable (if it even opens at all), and there's never an explanation. It's giving "we're avoiding you on purpose." Trying to get help--whether you're thinking of moving in or already locked into a lease--is like yelling into the void. No one's home. Literally. The common areas? Dusty. Forgotten. Slightly haunted, maybe. Cleaning and maintenance feel more like suggestions than expectations. And that fancy rooftop fire pit they brag about? Works about as often as I go to the gym after buying a membership--rarely, and only under very specific conditions. The whole property has a weird ghost-town energy. Zero management presence, zero accountability, and zero effort. It honestly feels like whoever's running this place just... stopped caring. After living here for almost 2 months now, I can really say this is one of the best buildings I've lived in, and by far the best service and resident-oriented cultures. Staff is always so kind and courteous, polite and go out of their way to be helpful. Maintenance staff is prompt, patient, and actually address issues rather than bandaid-ing problems (not that there really have been any). Building is kept clean as heck and hallways and lobby areas always smell like a fancy hotel. Building is quiet between units, I've never heard my neighbors at all. Occasionally I can hear my upstairs neighbor walking if they have heels on but it's only rarely. Street noise is not horrible but you have to remember that part of the experience of living on Sunset in the middle of Hollywood is that you're living on Sunset in the middle of Hollywood lol. Valerie talked with us on Facetime for a whole 1-1.5 hours to give a thorough video tour of the building and various units that fit within our budget and preferences (and we can be a bit picky). In the end we are glad we chose Hanover Hollywood! Lucas made the move in easy and stress-free when we drove cross country with all of our possessions and weren't sure when we would arrive. And everyone else working at Hanover are top professional and very transparent. Great job with this team. read more

Today is February 24th, and exactly one month has passed since Hanover Hollywood did not return the $500 holding deposit to my husband and me!!!!!! This is not a deposit for the apartment, it is a holding deposit that they charge only for reviewing the application. I want to warn everyone who plans to give them their money, don't do it!! They will smile at you until they take your money. We spend a lot of time trying to get our money back, but the managers of this complex don't give a damn. We were only told that refunds are not part of the manager's responsibilities. Based on this, I have a question? And whose job is this? We are only told that they are sorry and that the money will be returned to us, but this does not happen. Fernando's manager is lying that they sent us a refund check for $500. It's been exactly a month, but just a week ago he asked for our address at all, so how did they try to refund us if they hadn't even asked for our address for 3 weeks? Let me remind you that we made the payment by CARD ONLINE. The manager says the receipt has been sent, but they can't tell us the tracking number. This situation takes a lot of energy, nerves and time from my husband and me, but the managers don't care. Lucas is the man!!!! He gave us the most extensive and amazing tour (a grand one to say the least). I'm very picky and so is my friend, Lucas wasn't even phased. This company is extremely lucky to have someone like him on staff. Okay, enough about this awesome dude because I can go on forever.... The building is new, extremely clean, vacants were all ready to look at clean (made ready), model was clean, common areas were nice, amenities were amazing (cancel your gym membership unless you're a meathead because the gym is sooooooo great) parking is underground, and location is on the nice side of Sunset blvd. Walkable to restaurants, bars, and all sorts of fun. Hands down a great building. If I didn't buy a house, I see myself living here. The staff is cool, all smiley and not Hollywood fake, Christmas tree was pretty, and it really felt like home. My friend said this is his first choice by far. Keep up the good work Lucas, you're going to run your own region one day and in no time. We moved across the country and didnt have time to come out and look at places. We felt so lucky to find Hanover. Lucas gave us a tour of the entire building and our potential units and was so thoughtful in his recommendations. Everyone in the leasing office has been so helpful and welcoming. The communication was superb and now that we're here I can't believe how nice it is. Compared to my previous apartments, this place just seems very well constructed and thought-out. It is very quiet for where it's located and the amenity spaces are so nice. We've really had a great experience so far! Update: SO I will say after living here for a month that everything is great. They are wicked fast responding to general requests and maintenance and we have had no issues. We did however have upstairs neighbors move in and I will warn those prospective residents out there that you will hear your upstairs neighbors. There will be a lot of noise, seemingly just from the upstairs (so far). Their foots steps, their music, their movies, their subwoofers, etc. I was really disappointed because we haven't run into these issues with new construction before. Not much the office can do, people are going to live their lives in their space. Otherwise everything is great, it's kept very clean and it's very safe. Parking garage is great, etc. Just a shame that this will be a constant issue while we live here. I can deal with outside/LA noise but not the shaking and jarring type of noise that comes from the upstairs. If it werent for the noise it'd be a perfect 5 stars. read more

They always made cute parties for residents. 2 days ago I had to move to another place because of my work, and I already see the difference. Please don't make this mistake because this apartment building has the worst management and careless office. The residents at the apartment don't sleep and they party the entire night and disturb the neighborhood every night. Some neighbors even called the cups on them and the management still didn't care about it. You won't have a comfortable life here specially if you are a professional fellow who needs to rest and wake up well rested in the morning. I'm writing this at 2:18 AM because I haven't been able to sleep for nights because of the reckless neighbors and careless management. Most of the residents realize after the move in and they can't do anything about it. So you don't make this mistake. Trashy community that is overpriced for what it is. Pool is freezing, resident "events" are lame and basically consist of putting out plates of roughly two-dozen cookies for a building that houses hundreds of people. If you are looking for a hip place in Hollywood that does fun things for their residents then this is NOT the place for you. There is really no sense of community which is something that should be abundant in Hollywood of all places. Olivia the community manager is very sneaky and dishonest. She tried to overcharge me on multiple things for my move-out inspection, including $50 for cleaning my fridge that was nearly spotless upon move out... as well as trying to charge me for repainting with absolutely no photo evidence of any damages. Luckily I had a video of my apartment after I cleaned it out to dispute her claims so you better believe I got that money back. Do NOT let these big companies and fraudulent managers bully you into paying more. She's just concerned about meeting numbers. Tip: also make sure you get EVERYTHING documented that she says via email or she will go back on her word and charge you for things that she said she wouldn't. read more

I moved here from Atlanta and although I hate fancy buildings I love my building and the staff. They really have gone above and beyond for me at times. The building is very secure and clean. My move in process was easy and smooth. I've been here for almost 4 months and everything is still amazing like the first day I moved in! Anything I need help with they provide assistance immediately. I travel a lot so being able to trust them with giving access to certain people to my packages and apartment is a big thing for me but they always come through! To live here and have a team in the building that makes you, your friends and family feel at home even though my people don't live here lol means a lot to me. I feel valued, comfortable and never like a bother! I have lived in California for 9 years now , so that's about 8 different properties I have lived that... and of them all Hanover Hollywood is my absolute favorite. Despite being in the middle of a high traffic location , the building is very peaceful. I never hear my neighbors. When I do see them in crossing everyone is always pleasant and has a smile on their face. The community is EXTREMELY dog friendly. We all love our fur babies. The amenities are clean and beautiful. A highlight is the staff , hands down. I've never had such great customer service with a large property. The property manager in particular , Olivia, is the best at what she does. She is extremely efficient, knowledgeable, and handles business quickly. I love her dearly. The only thinggggg I would change is having 24 hour concierge. I often order late night snacks and have to go down and get it in my pjs. But that is a plus for security. No one can get up without a fob. Overall 10/10 highly recommend! read more
