Was excited to go to, it was my first time. I wrote my name down for several songs which I checked that they had using their "karafun" website. Hours went by and only sung one time, yes, I made sure to spread out my songs so that I wouldn't be hogging the mic or anything but I only sung one time with the hours I was there, so I'm pretty sure they skipped over my songs. I was there from 9 pm to 1 am. The place was super crowded and all the tables were dirty, so me and my friends had no choice but to sit at a dirty table. One of the servers came over and saw all the empty glasses, and apparently someone had brought in outside alcohol and it was at our table, so the bouncer came over and very rudely tried to pressure my friends into admitting it was theirs, kicking us out one by one because of their own shitty service. Only got one drink and it was horribly made, so strong even my friends who drink more frequently said it tasted awful. Needless to say it was an awful experience, and I won't be going back. If you actually want to sing and have fun with your friends, I suggest a private karaoke room, so you don't have to deal with shitty service, dirty tables, and never actually getting a chance to sing. The KJ here killed it! She was getting people up in great time even when busy. She jumped in with me on "Kitty" by Presidents of the US and did that high meow screech I'm too scared to do haha. My wife and I love karaoke and enjoy listening to others sing, this is the 3rd local place we have tried to visit and see if we would enjoy it enough to make it a regular spot. My wife and I went there twice, once around 5:30pm on a Wednesday and the following Thursday around 9:00pm. I can lump our over all experience into one. I guess I can sum this up that TopSpin is just a very noisy bar, that serves food, and like some of the other comments most of the folks there appear to be local regulars, which is ok for the bar, but they are all into themselves. I absolutely love this bar. The ONE and ONLY reason I can't rate it 5 stars is because the young girl that hosts karaoke is by far the most rude person I've ever met. She is bad for business and her attitude always leaves a bad taste in my mouth. She has power tripped on me and other customers so many times. She has a shocking audacity and really believes she's high and mighty for being the karaoke host lol. She will skip certain people she doesn't like on the karaoke sign up sheet. It's a weird neighborhood bar that has several nice dart boards. Robust karaoke crowd, competent and quick bartenders, and a surprisingly friendly and outgoing crowd of regulars. Prices are perfectly fine. Worth a visit if that sounds like your kind of place and are close. Also the pizza is decent. Like, really decent. Their crust is on point, the cheese is adequate and the sauce is totally serviceable. As a northeastern transplant I can say that I am a fan of their pizza but I also won't rave about it because I'm a snobby bitch about pizza. I will say the pours are not up to snuff. If you ask for a liquor "neat" you'll most likely get it in a plastic 1oz shot glass, which is aggravating as fuck. So we finally made it back to Topspin for HH, NCAA BB, and wings, oh glorious wings!! If you are in the area you can't beat their HH prices and Thursday is Ladies Day with even more offerings. We started off with a queso App. Don't bother it's a microwaved mess served in a plastic bowl. You know one of those bowls that your take out Chinese soup is packed in. On to our wings. We split an order of 10 and they were spot on. Loved the sweet/habanero sauce. Lesson learned order the wings only next time. Our server was AOK and we never had to wait long for drinks and food. One nit and I hope Mgmt reads this. Make the effort and have a beer list. Your taps are in a dimly lit part of the bar and you can't see them. If the stars could be on a negative scale I would have chosen from there!! I found this place just last weekend and was pleasantly surprised to find a nice clean sports bar with pool tables to enjoy a night out. So the next night I decided to get an $80 table for the Canelo fight. My mom, husband and I sat and watched the fight at the table and when it was done wanted to sing karaoke. The karaoke was a bit confusing so I asked the DJ how to request a song and he rudely pointed to the wall with the "instructions" and said .. "follow the instructions - that's how." Wow. Ok. So I did. Then as more and more people went up to sing including the DJ himself to go scream metal songs.. I was simply curious where the song cue was at. He proceeded to go outside to smoke a cigarette so I went out and asked him politely if my request was added to the cue. To which he basically yelled "ITS YOUR TURN WHEN YOUR SONG COMES ON" I then asked "why are you being so rude to me? it's a simple question" He replied "everyone asks the same fucking question!" I then said his communication is less than sub par and I'd rather him not speak to me in such a manner. He then told he would just get me kicked out if that would be easier... With my mom and husband. I returned to my table to see the check sitting there and service had stopped for us. I then asked to speak to the owner and he just said he couldn't do anything about the situation- and basically his extremely rude DJ was the one running the show. We weren't drunk or acting out of hand in any regard. And the owner took the side of a DJ that I see has quite a reputation from the looks of previous reviews. No joke. All because I asked why the DJ was being as rude as he was, we get kicked out on his terms. That's how this place is run, unfortunately. That is not how you treat anyone, let alone paying patrons of your establishment. So insulting, rude, and simply wrong. But there are plenty of other sports bars in the area. Worth it if you are a large group that can put in multiple songs under different phones/names but not for small parties or individual singers. We used to go (9-15 months ago) a couple of times a month to listen to great karaoke and incredible singers. Now the only songs are emo. Lots of Disturbed type music. If that's your genre this is a 5-star review but in the past the song choices were far more eclectic. Will have to find another place that plays more diverse choices. Went on a Friday night, after dinner and a movie, so we weren't really hungry, just wanted to hear some karaoke. They have really good beer prices on domestics, it was only $2.50. During happy hour, 4-7 daily, they advertise $1 off drafts so that's nice. They also advertise half price wings during happy hour, which would price them around 50 cents a piece. That's a good deal. Even though we weren't hungry we wanted to try the wings so we got some. They were cooked perfectly, the skin was crispy and they were really good. The waitress was friendly, and she did a good job of checking back with us to see if we needed anything. There is an outside patio that was very popular, maybe because you can only smoke outside, but whatever the reason a lot of folks were out there. At 9 pm, the karaoke started and the night went from good to great. There was a great mix of people, some skilled and some not so much, but they were all enthusiastic. Great variety of music too, ballads, heavy metal, there was something for everybody. We had a great time and will definately return. read more

Usually it's Romain at the least. Also ordered chicken wings. Bartender suggested the Asian seasoning which has a nice flavor. Wings were good. This place has a great bar in appearance and functionality. TV's are strategically placed for prime viewing in the event a game is on. Its focal point seems to be Karaoke, however I was visiting during the "off" time. It is a place that i'd return again. I'll order other items on the menu, as i think there's talent in the kitchen. I went here with a girlfriend to hang out around 5pm one afternoon. The place was pretty empty when we walked in. There were only about 5 or 6 other patrons in the whole place, with everyone at the bar. We were greeted pretty quickly and I asked the bartender what the deal was for happy hour. She indicated that she didn't know..... umm ok....! I thought for sure that she would go figure it out, but nope... she just said there were some specials on their beers but she wasn't sure what they were because she was new. Well thanks... that was helpful. We went ahead and ordered a couple beers and I asked for a menu, which she brought back quickly. And that's where our interactions just about came to an end.... She never came back to check on us. I guess I must have asked for a menu just for entertainment purposes?!?! I was wondering if they also had food specials for happy hour but A. since she didn't know about drink specials, I was doubting her knowledge on food specials and B. she never came around for me to ask anyways. I was pretty bummed though because some of their menu items sounded really good. Maybe I'll give it a try again and hope for a more knowledgeable waitress/bartender. read more

Topspin is probably my favorite neighborhood bar in...well, the neighborhood! I really like this place because it's chill and fun. Been here several times, and never any fights. Even the rare dude who's acting up is politely told that he can't be served, and to please gtfo. It is a bit louder in here because of the music and karaoke, so if you're looking for chill, The Dig Pub would be a much better bet. But if you're looking for a lively place close to home, Topspin's pretty sweet. The bartenders and KJ are all good people who go out of their way to accommodate you. I've requested at least two very esoteric mixed drinks, and even though they'd never heard of them before, they were able to look them up and mix them right away.
