Hansen's Ice Cream was legitimately some of the best ice cream I've ever had. My family was staying nearby in Twin Lakes and I'm so glad we drove over for an evening treat. We had nothing to go on except for reviews, and let me tell you it did not disappoint. Hansen's is attached to an event venue, so there is plenty of parking space - which was needed due to the good sized crowd on a weekday evening. The business is in a converted old farm house, and they've created a nice open room with seating inside. The menu consists of scooped ice cream, signature sundaes, build your own sundae with various toppings, and shakes. The portions were very generous for the price, I felt like my single scoop waffle cone was at least a double compared other places! I tried the Mackinac Island Fudge flavor with a Salted Carmel base - it was very rich but so delicious. If I'm ever remotely in the area, I will absolutely be driving out of my way to visit Hansen's and enjoy their delicious ice cream. read more

We stumbled upon Hansen's in Wilmot while driving home. It's in what appears to be a converted stand-alone single family style home. There's some parking along the side of the building and a lot more parking in the rear of the building. For a chilly Spring day, there were quite a few customers on a Sunday afternoon. They source their ice cream from a local Wisconsin manufacturer. I had the strawberry ice cream on a waffle cone which was very good. One scoop was plenty since they stuff the large cone, then top it with a single scoop. The price was right as well at $2.75 plus tax. They have lots of flavors. They also have a variety of flavored popcorn and candy for sale. There are two separate areas with plenty of seating for you to enjoy your treats. They have a second location in Burlington which we will be sure to stop by when in the area. read more

With no option to eat inside, I do wish the picnic areas were a little more comfortable and a lot less muddy, because let's be honest, kids will find the one fleck of mud in a barren desert! A restored farmhouse is now host to waffle cones and a variety of ice creams ranging from single flavor to specialties such as firecracker and coconut explosion!
