I got the Tofu Bibimbap (4/5) and split the Tteokbokki (Spicy Rice Cakes; 4/5). The bibimbap was good but pretty light on the tofu, yet I still felt pretty full after. It was deceptively more food than it looked like. The Tteokbokki were too soft for me but had a good flavor, and my partner liked them too. The service was great (4.5/5); they were very attentive and friendly. The interior of the restaurant is clean and nice (4/5). We are excited to go back and try more dishes! read more

My Mom and I went for a late lunch on Saturday afternoon. We got the bibimbap and the ramyun with added dumplings. They were both delicious! I had never had ramyun before and next time I'd probably add protein instead of dumplings, but the dumplings were very good. Attentive service but not super personable. Not rude at all though. One thing that surprised me were the prices. Our order was inexpensive but most of the meals were very high, $30+ which is pretty high for Cartersville. read more

The hubs and I have been twice now to the BBQ side. Once for our 10th wedding anniversary and once with our "adopted" daughters. We loved the service here; our waiter was young, totally invested in his job, and very knowledgeable and pleasant too. The restaurant is low lit and cozy and the smell and sound of grilling food makes it even better. We tried pork belly, squid, shrimp, ribeye, and vegetables on the grill and every side they had. We LOVED the crispy tofu and the cheese corn. If you've never had cheese corn, it's so simple and so satisfying. The banchan and sauces that come with the meal are super yummy too especially the cold noodle salad and the spicy kimchee! The only downside is that the sauces and spicing of the meats aren't particularly spicy. I love gochujang and Korean spiciness so much, I miss it a little bit in the sauces on the sides. read more

The food is excellent! The portions are great. The service was excellent. We went for my daughter's birthday ( she loves Korean food) and ordered off the menu. The only thing I did not like is the "service charge" of 18% which is the tip and automatically on the bill, they also have a tip line for an extra tip. The suggested 15% /18% and 20% would have increased our tip to 33% / 36% or 38% of the bill total. We always tip 20% but just chose to leave it at the automatic 18% since they took it upon themselves to make the decision for us. This is the only reason that I did not give 5 stars. Without the "service charge" of 18%, I would have tipped my usual 20% and given them 5 stars. We will be back but again will leave the tip to what they decided upon. read more

The food is still great. They are not giving as many of the small plates before the meal as they once were but the hot stone bibimbap is still great. Ask for a bottle of gochujang sauce to help spice it up. I will warn you about one thing though, they are sneaking in a "service charge" on the bill. I've never had this before and when I asked the server just kind of stammered and finally said "like tip". This place was wonderful! My boyfriend and I eat a lot of AYCE Korean BBQ and they ranked way up there! Rylee and Misty were our waitresses and they did a wonderful job. Rylee was super attentive and sweet. They're still in the soft opening phase and working out a few kinks. Only thing we'd suggest was adding more sides to the AYCE like a salad or more vegetables. Misty did tell us that when you eat in the entrée area you did get more sides and she was happy to bring us some. We will absolutely be back! read more

I'm guessing that SK Battery opening a plant in the area may inform why a decent Korean restaurant opened in Cartersville, of all places. The smell reassured us when we walked in, and the menu featured enough accurate Korean that my wife gave the place benefit of the doubt. We had our 4yo and 8yo with us, so we didn't do a BBQ table, but the menu has the basic meat options for regular table service too. We tried some standards first before trying the BBQ, but I'll definitely try the short ribs next time based on the first experience. The soups that came out were a slightly (and I mean SLIGHT in Korean terms!) spicy Korean miso soup complete with the young napa cabbage that elevates this simple soup to the appropriate height of flavor. Both kids ate the soup with their rice before the chicken teriyaki came out for them. The waitress got scissors for us when we asked, which further marked this as a good Korean joint! We used them to cut my daughter's noodles and the teriyaki chicken pieces. We had the KFC with sauce on the side as an appetizer, the bulgogi (marinated beef) stone bowl mixed rice, and the black bean sauce noodles (jjajangmyun). The last dish was a reach - this dish is more frequently found in Korean Chinese restaurants as it comes from the area where China meets Korea and their foods combined to make a unique cuisine. Our jjajang that we make at home is a bit better to our tastes because this one tastes a little sweet more than savory, but it was still an enjoyable dish. The stone bowl mixed rice was the best thing we had there, which is to be expected of a good Korean restaurant. I've added the pictures of our meal, but we loved the food well enough to dig in before thinking about getting a picture of it! I'll be back as long as this okay stays open, and I'm always a fan of Asian food drifting further from Gwinnett as it becomes a more popular cuisine in America. read more

(One star) The grills are not very hot and under the table the box is hot so watch your knees. This is the key to cooking on open grates vs the non-stick pan style grill, adds steam not flame so that's a big one. (One star) Service - good be customer service, be better and consistent. Ambiance - plain, would love to see it dressed up Suggestion - Add quality cuts of MARINATED meats, turn up the heat for HOT grills and bring lots of BACHAN, SESAME OIL and Korean style side dishes. This seems like like a poor review however feedback is a gift and I imagine with their soft opening they will be better over time, we support our city and will be back. Well... I was excited about this place. So since it was my birthday today I wanted KBQ and again as stated in my previous review this place is the closest to where I live. So my sister and I went there only to find out that they did away with the all you can eat bbq. Ok that's fine but the meat they have for the bbq options isn't great. There were no chicken options or seafood options. Also had we had gotten the bbq it would have been probably $200-$250 bill easily because the cheapest meat was $29.99 and you had to pick two meat options. We just got individual plates. It was decent, even though our bill was still $60 we only got three things. Which was Bibimbap, fried rice cakes, and stir fry pork belly with squid. So, they are off my list of places restaurants I will eat at now. So I guess the hour drive to Kennesaw for KBQ is top of the list now. Sad day. On a positive side the waiters were great. read more

My husband & I went here for the 1st time last night. We were expecting the price/AYCE that was on their FB page but they said they stopped the AYCE in Feb & they had completely different pricing. They have a whole menu & 2 sets. We did the cheapest set which was $80. It came with 4 meats, white rice, 1 side of cheese corn, 1 side of some kind of egg thing & some other smaller sides (most were pickled items). The food was ok, personally I didn't like most of the meats. I only liked one & I can't remember the name but it was beef chunks. I didn't care for the cheese corn or the egg thing but the pickled sides were almost all pretty good to me. We did get full but I personally wouldn't come back here. I would rather Iron Age in Kennesaw bc you can get AYCE & have a larger option of meat & can switch the meats read more

Glad to have this place near home instead of going to ATL. Awkward wait when you first arrive as no one gives you immediate attention to tell you where to sit or greet you. You have the option of three menus. One is to sit at the barbecue tables where you will grill your own meat. They recommend you ordered two meats at a time and seem to hold off on serving you anymore until you've eaten most all of it. I'm sure so as not to waste. So service seemed slow. Also, there were many unbused tables around, which made it feel unclean. Pork is a bit tough the 3 times I've gone. There is a full menu and a lunch menu. Tofu soup has tasty a broth. This is probably my favorite option at this restaurant. The beef bone soup is basically beef broth and two large bones. There is not much meat or vegetables in the broth so a very simple, unseasoned dish, but seems satisfying. I had to ask for an extra dish & scissors to be able to manage this dish. The little side dishes they give you have changed each time that I have gone. A couple are my favorite, but most of them I don't care for. As compared to the restaurants, I go to in ATL, which the dishes usually remain very similar, and are always really good. I feel like the pickled cucumbers and the kimchi have been great here. The bathroom is very clean which is something I always appreciate. The staff was very nice. They offered cold water and hot water the third time I visited. But was not asked that on the previous two times. Overall I do like this place. But in the future will only get the tofu soup as it's my favorite! read more

I visited with my sister and husband. It was the first time either of them had eaten Korean food. Hansik made sure it wouldn't be the last. The food was amazing. The experience of grilling our own food was enjoyable and fun. We had beef bulgogi, rice cakes, pork belly, and steak, ramyeon noodle, rice, plus many delicious side dishes. I got a bottle of peach sucho (beer) which I loved. The servers couldn't have been nicer. They were there when we needed things, explained everything, and were sincerely friendly. I went back a week later for takeout...same great service, same great art t food. The fact that many Koreans were eating at Hansik underscores its authenticity and ambience. You should visit Hansik. Good and service are top tier at this place that just opened up in Cartersville. Meat is delicious and the many banchan (side dishes) are a huge bonus that really elevate the dining experience here.
