When one goes out for Chinese food you always run the risk of authentic or imitation Chinese. This is much like what one would want from a Chinese restaurant IMHO. Owners still seem a bit concerned about COVID as they are shielded behind hanging plastic sheets. We ordered sweet and sour chicken and a Kung Po Chicken (after I was assured that it was spicy). The lunch specials are numerous and include a canned soda OR Eggroll OR soup and fried rice. For $5.59, it's a fair deal. Fair fare--will not be going back. I really wanted to like this place, but the food was fair at best. We ordered the sesame chicken, which was over-cooked and tough; the Mongolian Beef, which tasted neither like the sweeter version nor the spicier version of Mongolian Beef that we know and love; the beef lo mein, which was just okay; egg rolls, which were good enough; and the chicken and rice soup, which I thought might be like sizzling rice soup, but was more like a cup of yellow rice with boiled chicken strips and a splash of chicken broth. I've never before seen yellow fried rice and yellow lo mein noodles--saffron, maybe? We ordered take out and threw away more than we ate. read more

Some of the best Chinese food I've had. I'm Asian and growing up in Asia (Singapore), my tastebuds know true and good Chinese food. I'm really picky with Chinese restaurants because they Americanize their food that it feels like a Panda Express. It's hard to find good legit Chinese food. This is my favorite Chinese food in Rome. It is made to order and tastes delicious. Try the dumplings. They are soup dumplings, so be careful when you take a bite! I usually get the beef lo mein. I have eaten take-out from this restaurant twice. The first time I was favorably impressed. Typical fast food of this type. Nothing to write home about but a good lunch. The second time the food was inedible. The "chicken" seemed mostly fat and gristle. I took a few bites. I picked out all the meat, intending to take it back to demonstrate to the staff the incredibly poor quality, but finally just threw it all away and pledged never to return. It is my first visit to this restaurant, I walked in blindly (without reading prior reviews). It was lunch time and the place was empty which I thought was a bad sign, but I decided to stick it out. The interior is nice, very clean compared to other places I've seen in Rome. I was greeted immediately as I looked at the menu. It consisted of typical Chinese fare, but was missing orange chicken which I was bummed about. That dish is probably the most popular and most ordered dish in any Chinese restaurant. I decided to order the curry chicken with onion and the hot wings. The curry came fifteen minutes later and looked good. I ordered the smaller serving and it was more than enough for my voracious appetite. The chicken was very tender and the sauce was flavorful without being overly salty. I did find myself wishing for a heavier sauce to soak in the rice as it was basically a coating of the sauce. The wings came ten minutes after that and I was a bit perplexed. The spicy wings I have ordered in the past were a crispy fried chicken tossed with some Huy Fong chili garlic sauce. When I opened the container what I found was straight up buffalo wings. I like Frank's RedHot as much as the next guy, but not with Chinese food. If they replaced the Frank's with some Sriracha, that would be a step in the right direction. Overall, the food was good, the service friendly, but it wasn't anything that I would find myself craving every fortnight. Just another Rome low quality Chinese food place. Don't expect much but large portions. And check your order. I had Cashew Chicken, and they forgot to add the cashews. Upon entry, the restaurant gives the impression that its a fast-food type place. It isn't. We had the Singapore Mai Fun, the Orange Beef, & the Szechuan Tofu. All were excellent.
