This was by far the worst car purchasing experience I've ever had. My mom purchased a brand new 2027 Kia, and from the beginning the experience was disappointing. During the sales process, the sales representative acted like we were inconveniencing her rather than making a major purchase. To make matters worse, the protective coating that was supposed to be applied was never done before we left with the vehicle. It took over two weeks and multiple follow-ups just to get them to complete something that should have been done initially. When we finally got the car back, it was returned in unacceptable condition -- the paint had not been properly buffed and was covered in small scratches and water spots. For a brand-new vehicle, this level of care and attention is unacceptable. Overall, the customer service was poor, communication was lacking, and the quality of delivery did not match what should be expected when purchasing a new car. We took my wife's Kia Sportage here for the tow hitch recall notice (free fix). The car was also leaking a bit of oil so we asked them to go ahead and let us know what was going on with that, while they were at it. They performed the recall and charged us around $200 for the inspection to let us know what was up with the oil leak. They told us the leak was so bad that it had caused $6,000 worth of damage. Then they offered to buy the car for $4,500 because it was in "such bad shape". We took it for a second opinion and got the car fixed for $175 plus the cost of an oil change. It was just a failed oil pressure sensor. This dealership is shady. Will never be back for anything other than if they need to fix another recall. This is completely unacceptable business practice. read more

Thanks Logan for a pretty easy car buying process. Was able to work most of the transaction in the comfort of my own home. They got me exactly what I wanted for my trade and even helped entertain my 5 year old while we finalized some things in office. We were having a dilemma with Titus-will (horrible customer service. We can go Kia and their team from sales and financial team they made us feel relaxed and ready to solve our issues. There was clear communication with the act of help. Haven't had any issues with them so far. They kept reassuring us they would take care of if there is any issues in the future. Businesses need to remember that when they are good to their customers they will make more money in the future because we will start referring our friends and family. I went test drove a couple vehicles with my husband and we narrowed down to 2 vehicles we liked it was going to come down to the price. I had to go to work but we made clear my husband can make a decision and I could come back after work to sign. They REFUSED to help him move forward with pricing till I was there too! I brought my car in for a factory recall. I originally had to reschedule because they didn't have the part in stock and didn't call until the day before I brought it in. I heard that the Hanson family and selling to a new ownership group. So many little things left me wanting to take my car to Beaverton KIA than ever giving these folks with the current staff any return business. My coordinator quoted me an amount for work for the expected upsell, then tried charging me an even higher amount, stating the part was more than expected. They also pointed out that there would be a 3% charge unless I were paying cash or debit. They have a shuttle service, but I had to call multiple times to get picked up when they couldn't find my coordinator. My AC and radio settings were changed when I got my car back. Given the reviews here, new ownership should come in, clean house, and announce it under new ownership. Hanson Kia was a disastrously disappointing experience when I tried to buy a Sportage in 2022. Please be made aware that John Watson is egregiously errant in his salesman abilities. He lied to me about having a Sportage available and when I had questions that he could not answer without exposing his deception, he became angry and told me, amongst other things, that I should take my business elsewhere. He also let me know that he thought I wasn't serious enough about buying a car. So I spent my 50k at Car Pros in Tacoma literally two weeks later (how's that for not being serious?) and I could not be happier that Hanson Kia did not get my money (when a Sportage actually became available). Run from this place. Had to take my KIA in for a recall issue. Asked them to test the battery while i had it there. An hour and a half after they told me it would be done. They told me they put a new battery in it and my bill was over $480. They charged $100 labor just to put a battery in. At no time did they come out and ask if this was ok. Asked to speak to the service manager. Had to wait while they found him. He was rude and did not want to discuss it. Will not be going back! read more

Rusty helped me and my girlfriend buy her new Volvo today. Buying a car is terrifying and honestly sucks from pretty much every angle. Rusty made that process feel safe and comfortable. I honestly would have walked out of the dealership if she wasn't walking us through the process. When it came to actually signing on the dotted line Bobby in finance was a wizard. He not only walked us through but explained ways that we could pay off our car loan sooner and pay as little interest as possible. It's rare to find a guy with that level of integrity. I work in sales and have for some time in LA, Washington and Oregon. With sales there's an intangible "you have it or not" when it comes to building connection with a customer. Had an appt. for an oil change. Took close to 90min. After getting the Kia Soul home, I noticed oil on my driveway. Called told the service dept. I was bringing it in for them to take a look. Waited about an hour and found out they had not even looked at it yet. Ask for my keys back and took it to a local car repair shop in South Bay. In less then 15 min. they had determined the drain plug was loose and that Hanson had overfilled it with oil. They drained some oil and tightened the drain plug, free of charge. Darin B read more

This dealership is an absolute clown show. Took her 2014 Kia soul in for a diagnostic basically these kia souls have an unclaimed oil consumption issue and if you don't watch the oil these GDI 1.6 16v motors are junk. They did not pull any plugs which when I did one plug was obviously fouled. The motor oil has visible metal in the oil. They found an absolute tiny wire with a tiny chew spot on it and claimed that was the issue. They did no compression test did not pull the plugs did not check the oil etc. What a waste of a couple hundred dollars not to mention a tow to and from the dealership. They do not support the brand and even if this was not purchased from this dealership I would not expect such idiocy. The service manager was clueless whole experience was absolutely horrific I wouldn't buy an oil filter from this Dealership!! Buyers Beware!!!! read more

Brought my Telluride in for warranty work on an oil leak around the oil filter housing. After they confirmed a faulty gasket and the work would be warranty'd, I told them I was running Penzoil ultra platinum and would like it topped off with that brand after the work was done - they told me they wouldn't because they don't stock that brand - I told them not to put any off brand oil in my car and to ask the service manager to give me a voucher for a qt of oil to maintain my brand and quality of oil - they did not do that. I picked up my car, checked the oil right after they shut off the car and it was full, which means they added oil after I told them not to put off brand oil in my car - I checked the engine bay and saw a puddle of oil still on the oil filter access panel, which tells me one of two things: they either didn't clean up and properly check their work, or my oil is still leaking. Severely dissatisfied and disappointed with this service department. The only redeeming quality was one of their associates named Eli, who was the guy who delivered my car and keys, and helped me with checking on these issue - he was coordinating to get my car back in the bay so they could clean up the panel and was going to get my service rep to come see me about the issues, but after about 5-10 mins of waiting for him to pick up the pieces for my service rep Kara, I told him I'm tired of waiting and I will clean the panel myself when I get home to verify the leak is fixed. Overall, five thumbs down for this place, would not recommend. read more

Found a used BMW on their lot through their website, called and was told yes they still had it, woke up this morning and got an email that it was still there, drove over a 100 miles to go see it, the sales man Greg said he was just going to send us a video before we got there, went to find out where the car was and guess what? It sold yesterday! How did I get a text today telling me it was still available, when it sold yesterday? How was Greg going to send us a video? That is the worst customer service you could get! I bought a new Kia Rio there in 2016 and immediately noticed a rear brake noise that sounded like a rock or brake lining failure. On the test drive they told me it was nothing. A few months later it was louder so I brought it to the service department where they told me it was nothing. Now at 55K, just over the warranty it is very loud so I brought it back. Now they want $150 for a diagnoses. Basically they lied about my brakes until the warranty expired and now they want to charge me to tell me what I already know: the brakes are defective. read more

Service dept. is a joke. I had a 10:00am appt. on 12/28/2020. I dropped off a 2017 Kia Forte on 12/27/2020 for a large amount of warranty repairs. Tail lights full of water, trunk full of water, and blower motor went out. I was supposed to pick it up on Wednesday, and I had to pay to rent a car as they would not provide one. Wednesday came and no phone calls, so I called at 4:55 pm and was told by Todd that the wrong part came in and they had to reorder, it would be ready Thursday. I called again on Thursday at 4:55 pm and was told they had left early and will be closed Friday, I can't get my car back until Saturday. I spoke to Lee Jackson, who promised I would be take care of and reimbursed for the extra days car rental.Three more days of car rental fees. I will never buy a Kia again, not because of the cars, or the salespeople, but because of this service dept. It is now 01/02/2021 and I am now paying for a ride up to get my car today hopefully. Save your time and money and go somewhere else. Update: I just picked up my car, and went to speak with Lee Jackson. He said take it up with the service Dept. it has nothing to do with him. I mentioned I have purchased 5 Kia's and will not be buying anymore from them. He got angry and told me to leave since I was threatening him by saying I would not be purchasing any more vehicles from them. They have my money and don't care anymore. I leave and notice the tail lights are still not working. They resealed the lights but did not change the bulbs. 30 mile drive home with no tail lights in the pouring down rain. KIA defective repairs cost me $206.73 after paying for rental car for 6 days, new tail lights and $40 to go pick it up. I have never been treated so horrible by a company before. read more

Because I work out of state he told me to go to Oregon and buy one then I wouldn't have to pay the sales tax "How Rude" totally offended by that, but he did also say he will see if he could do any better buy that time I was gone. He called me 3 times and even texted me with a price of 27,000. Not paying an extra 5000 for northwest destination fee that was what the additional amount was. LADIES BEWARE...I want to start off by saying that this review in no way reflects our experience with the sales person Sylvester. He was great and picked up on the fact that my daughter was an anxious person that does a lot of research prior to doing anything. This was her 2nd new car purchase and the first one went amazing from start to finish (not from Kia). She went into this one pre-approved and at a great rate due to a 750+ credit score. Sylvester and her went back and forth for a bit respectfully as expected and she left with no deal as she felt like they were not giving her what she should be getting for her trade in. She went home, did some research then was able to plan things out a little better and knew she could make a higher payment work. We went back yesterday 08/03 to drive it again. We drove it and she decided she wanted to look at the last offer paperwork we had with them from Monday. She then decided to see if Kia would be willing to come down at least $800 on the bottom line number still. Sylvester left to go do his thing and back came a guy named Scott. This is where it all went south...He came in arrogant from the get go and then went right in with lie after lie while speaking to her as though she was just some young, dumb female. He sat down and started speaking to me and then I had to inform him he was speaking to the wrong person as I am not making the purchase, my daughter is. She then began questioning him on some of his false information and they went back and forth, the whole time him having an attitude and being extremely disrespectful. He did not like the fact that she had done hours of research and had talked hours with several other people and that she had facts to call his bluff. The last straw for her was when ended up asking her "why she was even there". That is when she drew the line and this was about the principal and being talked down to because she was a young female with facts that was not going to let him intimidate her. She loved the car and totally would have left with it as we had spoken about that option prior to Scott showing up but she wanted to barter one more time because she knew her trade in was worth more and that is what you do at a dealership right? I will end with this. No I am not a man hater. I have 5 brothers and work primarily with all men, none of which have ever talked to me in the way she was talked to yesterday. I was so thankful I was there for it as I would not have wanted her sitting there alone with Scott being talked to this way. I was glad I was there to reassure her she handled it perfectly and professionally. I am in no way saying this should not be a place to go but I am saying if you are female make sure that you have someone with you or you go in requesting that you do not have to work with Scott whatsoever. Now we are off to continuing our search for her Kia with fingers crossed that we have a better experience with the next dealership. read more

I've had a really bad experience trying to get the handle on my vans sliding door fixed. It took them over three weeks to get me in because they insisted to book a "diagnostic" appointment and the woman who scheduled said they needed time to order the part. When I came in I found out the part had not been ordered and was told it was because they needed to know what color my car was to match the handle color. When I came back to pick up my van after they fixed some recalls I found out the color explanation was at best wrong because the part doesn't even come painted, so now they want to charge me $150 to paint a handle. They said they'd call me when the part came in, a week later I called them and found out it was in, I asked to leave a message to speak to the manager, no call back. I still haven't gotten the handle fixed. To top it off they give you a customer service survey that they fill out with the best possible rating for everyone, which is really insulting. read more

We purchased a used 2015 Sorento from Hanson Kia and thought we had gotten a good deal. The car is loaded and the salesman assured us of some of the things we were looking for, such as fuel economy. He told us it got 23/28 MPG (yay!), except after we had bought the car and looked through the glove compartment, we found the original sale sticker, which listed the fuel economy as 18/24.... Then there were little things, like we asked for all-weather floor mats, and he grabbed some from a new Sorento that don't actually fit completely this Kia. We negotiated a luggage rack as part of the sale, and when we were asked if we wanted stainless steel or black, we said stainless. What did we get (after we had bought it)? A black luggage rack. We also asked for all-weather cargo mat and cover and was told they would be ordered and sent to us. Two months later and nothing, and everything time I contact our salesman he says he will check on it, and then silence... They even lied about the Sorento having Apple CarPlay, which was something we especially wanted and we were told it had it and we just had to update the software. Not true, the 2015 Sorento stereo isn't compatible, come to find out, with the CarPlay update. And the final cherry on top was the car ended up costing about $3k more than KBB. Live and learn I guess. Wouldn't ever deal with any of their dealerships again and would caution against going there hoping to find out more information about the car you're interested in. read more

The services department here is horrible we had an issuer with our new Kia niro after taking 3 weeks to get a hold of someone to actually talk to because the don't no how to call people back we set up a time to leave our car there for 6 days the manager promises to call and keep us informed after 5 days we called them nobody new what was going on when finally had a manager call after 3 calls to upper management which are also unable to talk to customers could only leave messages they said there wasn't a fix for it come to find out when I talked to a couple of people our car was only in the shop for 30 minutes out of the 6 days and it was after we called we took the car to a dealer up north had car fixed in 1 hour still waiting for a phone call from Hanson they do not care about there customers read more

The service department will try to up sell you for unnecessary items. The first time I came here and was told I needed an additive for my fuel I reluctantly gave in. This last time I was told I needed an additional $300 fuel injector cleaning service on top of the $400 service I was scheduling. The service associate almost laughed at me and said "you've never had your fuel injectors done?!?" After I told my spouse she was livid as she knew this was BS. We cancelled the entire service. Drove 45 minutes to another dealership who said nothing about needing a fuel injector cleaning. They also performed the 60k service I needed for much less. I thought it was interesting that Hanson doesn't list the service prices online. The other dealership does. In my experience with other out-of-state Kia dealerships they list the service prices online. Needless to say I will no longer go to Hanson even though it is 15 minutes from my home. I will be traveling the 45 minutes to the other Kia dealership who had excellent customer service, did not attempt to up sell any service AND while browsing the lot were not at all pushy. read more

Alright, well I have had my kia for 6 years. I haven't had a lot of problems but. When I do have a problem it's bad. I took my car in for a 100,000 tune up. But, the car still sounds bad and I have just spent $1,584.64. So this is just for the 100,00 tune up and an AC line to be fixed. I worry that they are not doing what they say they are going to do to fix your car. And just keep it over night and give it back to you the next day the same as you left it. Our cars are how we care for ourselves and our family. I don't have a lot of money and we work really hard and I fell like there should be a way to check their work when they give you back your car. What I would say to you is ALWAYS check their work and have them show you what they changed or fixed. Don't just take their word. read more

Hanson motors sales team is friendly and will ensure you are taken care of, have bought numerous cars here with that being said STAY AWAY, make the drive to Tacoma or Puyallup.... after you purchase the car you have to deal with the service department due to recent changes in their management customer service is not a word that exists in their work area.... When trying to make appointments you will be placed on an eternal hold only to be finally told by a machine to leave a message and someone will get back to you, but they never do... Try to make the appointment online???, you can try but it never gets confirmed and then they will change it without any notification... Voice these concerns and your told to deal with it they're busy and only one person in the whole place can take calls... Save yourself from the frustration and headaches and go elsewhere!! read more

I do not like the sales department here as they try to sale a bit too much. I in general dont like this dealership but its people like declan who make me want go to places like that. His efforts were not noticed and he actually made me feel like he cared about my brand new car and the work it required. That man was extremely exceptional and his personality is just genuine. Rare mix when going to dealerships. He doesnt even work in there. He works in subaru but if you see him id say go for him if he doesnt already try and help you. They need to hire him in their team. His attitude is refreshing and made an extremely pissed customer leave in an actual happy mood. read more
