I gotta say walking in it looked a lil sketchy just because it was empty, HOWEVER, I was pleasantly surprised. The service is prompt and attentive. Walking in you may seem put off because it's empty but it's a brand new business. The food portions are HUGE and well worth the price. SO YUMMY! It's a hole in the wall treasure. I hate that I didn't take pictures of my food for this review. The Banana Pecan Waffle was great! You receive huge serving sizes, in my opinion. I ordered the cowgirl with a hash brown! Yum!!! The absolute best place to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner. Finally got around to give this place a review, I've been going here for years now and I have tried the whole menu. The food is perfect and always hot. It's the best comfort food I've had anywhere. Today I ordered chicken wings and waffles. The chicken was hot with the perfect batter and the waffle great. The waitress Chris is always perfect and always asks do I want my wings cut in half. This place phenomenal and prices are great too. I had red beans and rice with sausage (recommended by waiter), cornbread muffins and sweet tea. Husfriend had chicken fried steak with Mac and cheese, fried okra and a biscuit and a Dr. Pepper. No real complaints. Service was great. Restaurant was clean. Gravy on beans could've been a little thicker. Steak could've been more tender. Neither were dealbreakers for us. Came here for Brunch with mom . Happy hour was good and they have a lot of options . You can get mimosas for $3.00 . The waiter was polite , but he asked to see my ID I gave it to him . My wife and I happened to be running errands in the north side of town and got hungry. We wanted to try somewhere new and we were lucky enough to stumble upon Hanz. From the moment that we walked it, we felt like we were a part of their diner family; even though this was our first time here. The service that is offered here is it of this world amazing. My wife ordered the chicken and waffles and to her delight, the waffles were as light as air and the chicken wings cooked to perfection! I had the fried catfish dish. The breading on the catfish held together and was so crispy! I wish we lived closer because we would definitely frequent the diner often. Nonetheless, Hanz has earned 2 lifelong fans!!! read more

Definitely a place to frequent for a traditional American style, no gourmet type of breakfast that is an oasis next to the busy North Freeway. Very clean restaurant with plenty of parking and pleasant, friendly, courteous staff to make you feel right as if your at home. The chocolate chip Belgian waffle was delicious, you do have to eat a bit quick. Due to the melting whipped cream, chocolate sauce and rainbow nonpareils, but the Belgian waffle had a crunchy exterior followed by a pipping hot inside. The over easy eggs were the most BEAUTIFUL cooked eggs ever eaten and cooked to perfection, fried both sides and runny yolk. The grits were smooth and just enough butter to compliment but not drown the down home southern grits flavor. Every time I eat there, I order something different, and every time I'm sure it's the best food I've ever had! On top of that, the service is incredible. Now that i am a regular I have learned that some of their waiters have worked there for many years. It feels like one big family. This is an amazing restaurant and staff who really care about their customers and can recommended amazing things for you to try!
