5/7/26-my husband and I came here for breakfast while waiting on his truck at Fred Haas Toyota. I was pleasantly surprised. The food was delicious and fresh. Breakfast cost us about $10 less than when we go to other chain places. When you have the choice of hashbrowns or country potatoes, get the country potatoes. They're cheesy and delicious. My scrambled eggs were not overworked. I hate that. Fluffy and delicious just like the pancakes. The cooks know what they're doing and the wait staff is very nice. The only complaint that I can come up with is I'm not a big fan of added sugar to my pancakes. But I know people love their sweet stuff. We'll be back. read more

Updating my review! My mom, husband, and I went this morning for breakfast and to start off the place wasn't as packed we found a booth pretty quick. It did take a while for anyone to attend us, I had to ask someone for menus and to take our drinks. My mom ordered the chicken fried steak and the waiter seemed a bit confused on what the menu said. My mom was confused too because on the menu it had two of the same name items with different prices. Anyway he took her order and he put in for the " country fried steak" as he called it and she also asked for the gravy on the side. My husband and I ordered waffles combo plates and my husband asked for a side of bacon. When the food arrived the gravy was on my mom's food when she asked for it on the side and she asked to get it replaced. She got it back and once she started cutting it it's was actually chicken fried chicken. She didn't want to ask to take it back so she just ate it. The good thing is she said her meal was delicious even though she didn't get exactly what she wanted. She also very much enjoyed the coffee. When it came to my mine and my husbands meal the sausage on his plate looked pale as if it was left on the grilled for one minute each side so we asked if it could be slightly more cooked and we're super grateful that the waiter took it back and brought crisper sausage linked on our plate. Now the only other disappointment from my husband's meal is that he never got his extra bacon instead he was brought extra sausage links. We didn't want to send it back either so we just kept it and he ate that. Overall all the food was amazing just wish everything was given to us the way we ordered it in the beginning. Flew to Houston on Christmas Day and arrived early morning. After checking into our hotel, we were ready for a late breakfast-of course most restaurants were closed but we found this diner that was about a 30 minute drive from the Med Center. We arrived around 11 and they were semi busy. Smaller spot in a mini strip mall with booth/counter/regular seating and black/white square flooring. Daily specials (M-F) are atavailable. We all ordered Omelettes with chocolate chip and plain pancakes to share. My Avocado Omelette (swapped Chorizo for shrimp-yes!) was delicious. And filled with slightly spicy Chorizo, mushroom, onions to name a few. The Meat Lover and Chicken Fajita were also tasty. Stuffed and generous portions. Pancakes were the perfect compliment and were also delicious! Our server and the entire staff were engaged and upbeat despite working on a Holiday. They were closing at 1 so we made it just in time. Rude service. I have attending this restaurant for many years. I have noticed the breakfast tacos were getting smaller in portion size. Today I was disrespected by a young black woman server and accused of always "complaining" about the tacos. She belittled me, threw the receipt pen on the counter, and said quite rude things ("You can leave you are holding everyone up and making things all about yourself... You come once a week and always do this.") I suppose I cannot check the food that I pay for? Please do not go here. read more

We visited I 45 diner last weekend after spending a majority of the day at hurricane Harbor not far from this location.. we decided to give this place a shot since the place we normally go was closed on Sundays. We were literally the only people there.. we were greeted right away and the diner was actually super cute like a 70s diner.. our food came out super quick. Plus .... IT WAS SO GOOD!!!!! Literally everything that we tried was so good. Just look at the picture of my food.. I got the grilled chicken dinner with green beans and macaroni and cheese. I was really surprised whenever it got to the table. Chicken was perfectly cooked green beans as well.. a lot of places have a hard time keeping those green beans looking green.. just saying these were exceptional!!! I didn't get a picture of everybody else's food.. but everyone said their food was great. Really the only complaint was the shakes could have been a little thicker. This place is a little hidden gem. It has a diner feel. You walk in and seat yourself. It's not the best-looking place, but it is clean. The food is pretty tasty. It's comparable to Denny's. This is the only place that can get my eggs right. When I say soft scramble, I usually get overcooked brown eggs lol, but this place has gotten my eggs right the two times I have gone. The dish portions are very healthy. We will keep this place in our breakfast rotation. We also plan on trying the lunch and dinner items. read more

A hidden gem and solid 4 stars. East side of I-45 on Cypresswood in shopping center. Very accommodating seniors' and kids' menus. Had a seniors special #1 and coffee. Good, friendly service. Nicely designed and clean seating area. Not crowded or pushy. Lots of food for the price. Everything was cooked right and tasty. Pancakes, sausage, ham, egg, hash browns. I will come back. Our first time here on a Sunday morning. we got right in without any wait time . Good looking menu a lot of choices, everything from Machado to eggs Benedict to a garden wrap. Several different Options for omelets, waffles, and pancakes. Looks really good. I'm not gonna lie, the prices seem kinda high, $15 for an omelet. $16 for chicken fried steak and eggs. They do have corned beef hash and eggs, which I love to see on a menu. . several different types of burgers which all look appetizing. But again, seems on the high side $16. For a double cheeseburger. I guess that's almost norm. love the different sandwich choices everything for a pot roast melts down to a grilled chicken breast with Chipotle sauce called the Cadillac. they have fajitas;, steak, chicken and sausage, not a normal option in fajitas as far as I know, but might be good. The fish tacos look really good. 3 of them for $14. The dinner entrees, again little on the high side. But maybe they're portions are really big. We'll see. pot roast dinner is $17. pineapple grilled fish, 15 meatloaf 15. . half a pound of steak tips 16.99. all the dinners come with 2 sides and a piece of garlic bread. However, if you upgrade to a baked potato, be careful. Doing that it's an additional $4.70. don't do it. not worth it. IMHO. they also have wings, cheese sticks, cauliflower wings. Fried shrimp basket, and 5 different salads, $14.29. Again, a really good looking menu. We order the eggs benedict, Machado and a breakfast sandwich, so I'll update after we get our food, with pictures. It has a nice diner vibe, booths, tabled and a big eat at counter area. Coffee is strong. Oh, one thing I want to note, first page, not very noticeable is the mention that parties of 5 or more, auto gratuity of 20% is added. Im not a fan of that anywhere , but especially not for a party of 5 plus. I understand the reason, I've done my fair share of serving and auto gratuity would have been nice a few times, especially a bold 20%. I also didn't notice a host stand, and nobody greeted us when we came in. We just basically sat ourselves, unsure if that was the intent. So we got our food, never know which to start with, the good or the bad. My husband got the sausage sandwich, and picked off quite a bit of hard edged cheese, like it had been sitting out for hours. I've been on the other side of the line in kitchens, it probably had been sitting out since open. He also didn't like the sausage. I'll try it and add my thoughts. My son got the eggs Benedict which looked good on the plate, but unfortunately the poached eggs were way overcooked, the consistency of a hard boiled egg. If our server had come by at any point, we would have asked for a fresh remake, with proper oozy poached eggs, but the 3bite rule doesn't seem to be a thing here. The 3bite rule, check on your table within the first 3 bites to make sure everything tastes as it should. Also, it would have been nice to b e offered a refill of the coffee, th as t never happened. The half order of French toast was good, and served with plenty of soft whipped butter, so high marks for that. My Machado was fantastic, and I'm the critic of the group. I really enjoyed it and would definitely recommend. I had to ask for salsa, I got both the red and the green, green is the way to go. The red is kinda like Pace. Anyway, the Machado was delicious, Maybe a few too many sliced jalapeños but still delicious. The manager or owner walked by several times helping the servers run food and bus tables, but never stopped to ask how we were doing or what we thought, that's a shame. I'm big on table touches and this guy missed the mark. Before I forget, I did try the sausage from the sandwich, I liked it. I think he was just turned off by the very hard old cheese. read more

I decided to swing by this place because a coworker of mine had recommended it and since it was my wife's birthday I decided to surprise her with breakfast. The location is in a strip mall. The restaurant itself is ok for the most part. The place was slow and the servers were extremely slow taking my order. I ordered the Machacado for myself and the steak omelette for my wife. My order was ok for the most part, eggs and shredded beef were good, but those beans were absolutely disgusting. At one point I literally bit into one and gaged as it was extremely sour. My wife's wasn't as bad, she had only one complaint which was there were too many peppers and onions and a tiny portion of steak. Place was completely empty. There is no sign on there door with posted hours. Only saw 2 employees actually in the place working. 1 cook 1 waiteress. Asked for lots of ice in my drink,was not alot of ice! Got about 9 tables and 12 booths.5 counters chairs. Food came fairly quickly. Ordered french toast eggs with sausage link and bacon. Strip of bacon waa not crispy,maybe i should have requested crispy. Got only 1 small thing of sryup ! Didnt see the male cook wearing any type of hair net. Waiteress never stopped by to check on refills or if i needed anything,like a refill and more sryup!! Food isnt anything special. Only time she came to my table was when saw i was done. My husband, son, and I went in this morning to get a late breakfast around 11. It wasn't busy and there were open tables but they all had plates and dishes left on them from previous diners so we ended up waiting by a table in the middle for it to be cleaned. We got told by a young black lady that she would clean it in just a minute. Well she did take the dishes off the table and we were able to sit but she took another 5-7 minutes to actually get back to the table to clean it. She kept getting side tracked by either taking dishes off other tables, talking to other servers or putting something into a computer. I finally asked another server if we could get the table cleaned and the lady finally showed back up and began cleaning it. It was pretty dirty and sticky so my husband made the comment that the table was pretty nasty and needed a firmer cleaning and this lady went off on him saying "no one told you to sit here if it was nasty, you didn't have to sit down here. That was your choice" and all in a very rude, condescending tone. We got up and left. There was no need for the attitude from her considering we were very patient waiting and there were at least 5 tables just left with plates and cups that were not clean. We weren't the only people waiting for a table to be cleaned. We've been long time customers of this place but we are never going back. My husband called the manager just after we left and said the same and she told us "good luck finding another place, have a nice day " and hung up. No apology for what was said. It wouldn't surprise me if the person cleaning lied to the manager and said we said something crude to her when we literally said a hand full of words and joked with her and she took it the wrong way and got rude with us. I recently visited 45 Diner on Tomball and unfortunately had a disappointing experience that left me feeling unwelcome. Upon entering the restaurant, I was not greeted with a smile or a warm welcome--just a blank stare from the staff. I proceeded to take a seat, only to be told abruptly that the diner was closed for dine-in and that I would have to order to-go. While I understand that businesses may have dine-in restrictions at times, what stood out was the inconsistent treatment that followed. Shortly after I was told to order to-go, I observed another patron being served. I won't speculate on the reasons, nor do I wish to make this about race, as my main concern is the quality and fairness of customer service. However, overhearing a conversation in Spanish that assumed I wouldn't understand only added to the feeling that I wasn't being treated equally or respectfully. For the record, I am from La Hispaniola--the first colony in the New World--and I understood everything. If dine-in service isn't available, all patrons should be told that clearly and consistently at the door. That small courtesy would have spared me the feeling of being singled out or profiled. To the staff member: I'm a generous tipper and came in simply because I was hungry. But after this experience, I have no intention of ever returning, and I certainly would not recommend your establishment to any of my friends, clients, or family. Customer service matters--and how you treat people leaves a lasting impression. read more

This small family Diner in spring has great food . They serve breakfast all day . They have items such as hamburgers, soups , salads, chicken fried steak and shrimp and catfish . They also have a nice senior menu . You must get there by at least 10:30 am because it can fill up fast . On the weekends especially Sundays after church it's a wait for a table . Yes, there's a sign that says "no outside food or drink," but all I ever bring is my coffee--and I never leave it behind. I always take it back to my car when I'm done eating. Well today i came in with my drink as usual and they said I have to leave it in the car because they're under a new management. I always prefer to support local businesses but it's not my fault yall dont have the drink i want. I totally understand the no outside food policy, but drinks too? Come on. We sat at the first empty booth we saw then proceeded to wait about ten minutes before deciding to just leave because we never received any service/menus. I've been coming here with my family for years, but this morning was hands-down the worst experience we've ever had. When we arrived, there were nine dirty tables sitting uncleared, and despite five waitresses on duty, no one made any effort to clean them. We had to wait just to get a table wiped down. After finally being seated, we waited even longer just to get menus. Our server seemed annoyed every time we asked for something--eye-rolling included. She forgot one of my items, was consistently slow to come back, slow to refill coffee, slow to bring anything we needed. We were even given plastic utensils instead of silverware, and when our food finally came out, it was cold. After years of being loyal customers, this was incredibly disappointing. To top it off, as we were leaving, our server saw the small tip and told us, "We don't need customers like you." In that case, we won't be coming back. Yes, this is your classic diner with friendly service and some good cooking. You're welcomed in with a friendly "sit anywhere you like." As soon as your seated someone is there to get you started on drinks. Once our orders were placed, it seemed like the food was out in front of us piping hot. Everything was seasoned perfectly and cooked to perfection. Whoever was in that kitchen was doing a great job on the day I was there. The prices are reasonable and the portion sizes are large. Definitely highly recommended if you're looking for a good hot meal. read more

Saturday morning around 11 went in to the his location for some breakfast with my parents no big deal right well there way about 6 tables that where dirty as can be when usually they are good about keeping tables clean. so we get a table after about 5 minutes sit down and have to wait for this black girl to come wipe it down and my dad came in there and said yeah the table is dirty she said to his no one told him to sit there. and we did need to sit there and that pissed him off so we get up and leave as we are waking out she said something and I didn't catch what it was but sounded rude. So we leave and go to a different restaurant while we are at this better place my father call up the that location asking for the manager so they put him on hold and when the manager get in the phone he's not rude or anything just explains what happened as he is doing that she say good luck finding a better place and hung up on him so yeah just a recommendation to all y'all out there go to a different location if you want I-45 dinner. I was recommended by a close friend that I should go here instead of W_____ H____, yes you can buy a vowel. The place was not crowded on a Sunday afternoon, and you seat yourself. The waiter was cool just not attentive and I'm not one who goes out of his way to let it be known that my drink is empty or that I'm ready to order. Anyway I got a basic breakfast and brought half my order out, before it was all ready which is weird it seemed like someone forgot about my pancakes. Long story short the pancakes were beautiful and were decent everything else was mediocre, for a diner. So next time I'll get a lunch entree if I decide to come back. read more

I agree with another reviewer. I wondered if they do hire their own family members because the way our waitress acted. It's as if she didn't really need a job. She was horrible! You think with it being 9 AM that you'd be able to get the some service. Not the case here. As we walked in we were greeted with,"Sot wherever you like"! Our waitress walked up to us as we sat down. Her face told us that she was not going to be pleasant. She didn't say good morning all she said was, "Do y'all know what you wanna drink"? So we ordered our drinks. She came back about 10-15 minutes later. Then she asked what do y'all want to eat? No greeting whatsoever no hospitality at all! Then we received our food and I thought maybe we just eat and leave but the food was not good. Someone said you guys make homemade biscuits and that's a joke. If they were homemade they were made the day before because the biscuits and gravy were cold . The bacon was not even crispy. It just taste like everything was rewarmed in the microwave. It's really quite sad because I saw this place on Localish and couldn't wait to give it a try Since we were moving in the area. I love supporting small businesses. Especially family owned businesses but if you guys do have your family members working for you then you are definitely letting them run your place down! $28 for a leftover breakfast and horrible attitudes are just not the way I want to spend my money. Met a friend on a Sunday morning around 10:30. This place is pretty close to my house, so it definitely gets personal points for that. The older I get, the more convenience matters. It's a diner on the side of a strip mall, so I don't think I need to talk about ambiance. The service was good. We both had coffee. She had the breakfast skillet with bacon, and was pleased. She substituted fruit for hashbrowns, and was pretty disappointed that it was just cut up cantaloupe. I hesitantly ordered the shrimp avocado omlette, (shrimp at the strip mall diner?) but it was really good. I swapped the fruit I should have gotten for hashbrowns, and let me tell you, I made the right decision. They were Waffle House good hashbrowns! I'd come back. read more

We really enjoyed our food not crowded very peaceful you can hear your self talk. We were staying in Spring and before we went out to explore and go house hunting, we stopped to have breakfast at the I-45 Diner. This was a quaint little 50's style dinner that by the looks of it, attract a lot of locals and this usually means good food. My wife and I were seated and ordered the Breakfast Combo #3, hash browns or country potatoes, two eggs, two buttermilk pancakes with bacon and sausage. The food was fantastic! Far better than any chain restaurant would serve to you. The sausages were bigger and had more flavor, the pancakes were fluffy and tasty and even the coffee was really good. We were stuffed by the time we left. We received excellent service from our server and were really happy we had stopped in. We noticed a sign for their daily dinner specials and look forward to returning for them when we settle down in the area. read more

AMAZING, and dirt cheap. I-45 Diner puts a certain nearby chain to shame. I've wanted to visit since moving to the Houston area in 2018, but never got around to trying them until my goddaughter brought some home a few weeks ago. Up early with errands to run, I ordered hash browns and bacon over the phone and went in to pick it up. I-45 Diner is at the leading edge of the strip mall on the corner of 45 and Cypresswood, in front of Topgolf and facing Spring High. Walking in, I was briefly taken aback at how massive the space is, that a guy rudely (typical of the area) told me to close the door from the cold... I then proceeded to reopen the door to fidget with my car keys because I'm a troll of epic proportions. Back to the restaurant, my order was waiting at checkout in the back of the dining room in a back and a white to-go box--shredded hash browns and two strips of bacon fried to perfection for only $7. Hot and fresh, I stuffed my face in my vehicle after gesturing that guy on the way out. This is an amazing facility--truly an old-school diner that was good and packed at 9:00 in the morning. This place was such a great find!!! Tucked away in a plaza just off of 45, it doesn't look like much, but trust me, the food is delicious, menu is expansive, and it is affordable! They have daily specials, all day breakfast and all the diner classics. I recommend the chicken fried chicken - so tasty! The service was fast, even for our work group of 18, food came out all together, and the food was hot. The place is a diner with regular diner food, but also has some Mexican cuisine. We ordered Machacado and chicken fried steak. Machacado ($8.99): 5/5 stars Good portions? Check Flavorful? Check Not a common dish? Check This dish was like regular tacos, but with eggs scrambled into the filling. Even the salsa that came with was good. Would highly recommend. Chicken Fried Steak ($10.99): 4/5 stars Big portions, comes with two eggs, two pancakes, and hashbrowns. Not bad at all, but not the best I've had either.
