I ordered from Uber eats an item off the menu which was supposed to be healthy and listed as such the total opposite arrived, and when I called the restaurant and spoke to the manager, who is presumably the owner not only was she extremely nasty to me and refused to make me the correct product, but she said that this product doesn't even exist on her menu that Uber eats must've made a mistake. It's unfortunate that these reviews are so outdated and I'm glad I didn't let these negative reviews deter me from giving this place a try! Not gonna lie, I didn't want to sour my first experience with this establishment by calling in my order and possibly having it be messed up so I walked in and placed my order in person - I ordered two dishes and was out of there in 10mins or so. The food is your textbook Chinese takeout and it sure satisfied my craving. Didn't get a pic of my egg roll and boy was it crunchy and yummy, I typically am not a huge fan but I devoured it. I really enjoyed my food! The service was good - I went and got what I wanted and didn't wait too long... the woman at the counter likely won't make convo with you and get your whole life's story, she's just there to get the job done! I order from this place all the time when I'm at my brother's house. But this time I was home and ordered through Uber eats and a totally different experience. The food was all old and refried. I ordered chicken fingers and fries and got an order of sweet and sour chicken and fries instead. That order was clearly old and refried. It was so oily and dry my kids couldn't even eat it. Next the chicken wings and fries was also clearly ordered by someone and never picked up and the just refried them and sent them to me. I need to upgrade my initial review where I stated that this establishment is a hole-in-the-wall. It's not. Yes, it's a typical take-out establishment. Order your food, pick it up and go. It's nothing fancy. But guess what? It's impeccably clean. I happened to park in the lot adjacent to the restaurant. I "had" to walk by the opened yet screened-in door to their kitchen and kind of snoop around while no one was looking. I couldn't help myself. Guess what? It was spotless despite being peak hours. Once inside the actual order area, aka the storefront, I watched the cooks in the open kitchen. Again, the kitchen was spotless even where they were cooking. Someone was always cleaning. All the cooks were clean cut and following all health code rules. I apologize for calling this place a dive. It's not fancy, it's not in the best neighborhood, it's take-out vs. sit down. But dirty it is not. And the food, for Americanized Chinese, is excellent. read more

The food is perfectly fine middle-of-the-road takeout. We eat here often and have yet to get sick or stumble on undercooked/over-cooked surprises. I think a lot of the negativity toward this place comes from their downright rude counter-girl. Don't eat Hoa Wei!!! I Ordered curry chicken. I got an order of vegetables. Onion slices the size of apple slices. The biggest waste of $13 in my life. All together there may have been enough chicken in the order to equal one tenderloin. (Quart order). Delivery driver was rude. Didn't come to door. Will never order here again. Sigh. I live in this neighborhood and would be so convenient to drop money at Hao Wei if any of the food was worth eating. I tried them maybe 3 or 4 times, and each time I thought "Well, maybe it's just their lo mein that's bad"... "Maybe it's just their lo mein and their General Tso's tofu that are bad"... "Maybe it's just their lo mein, their General Tso's tofu, and their fried rice that are bad". Finally I wised up. Sauces are gloppy and seem like they came right out of a food service container. Fried rice and noodles are bland and the texture is similarly blah. I haven't eaten any meat dishes here, so maybe they do better with those. 2 stars instead of 1 because the service is fine, and I've never gotten food poisoning there or anything. read more

I order from Hao Wei a lot and the food is great. It's hot and made with care. Tonight however, this was just not the case. They have us old food. Our rice was hard and tasted of old vegetables. The beef and broccoli was warm, not hot, the dumplings had no flavor. My jumbo shrimp had no flavor. I felt bad the delivery guy left without his tip but 38.92 for that crap is disgraceful. How could they make us wait for 45 minutes for old and flavorless food? I do realize it is winter, but if I love Pizza of Teoy can give me hot pizza in 45 minutes then I can get hot Chinese food as well. Especially if the restaurants are right around the corner from one another. So the best part ofour meal was the Dr.Pepper. one free and one paid. Nothing crazy to say about this place. It's the definition of average, which isn't meant to be a bad thing. Prices are good, food is decent, and delivery is average to above average. It might not be the best Chinese food you'll ever have but it's reliable. Can't go wrong. read more

Two of the three items I ordered were wrong. One they offered to come deliver me the correct item (I ordered fried rice but received lo mein). The second item was dumplings. I left instructions stating that I only wanted them if they were vegetable, and to call if this was not an option. I left these instructions in two places. I bit into a dumpling to find out it was meat. I cannot eat any type of meat. I then called the person I spoke to about the rice issue to find out they don't have vegetable dumplings, they only have pork. I never did get an answer as to why my instructions weren't followed. read more

I've tried this place multiple times and have been disappointed every time. The food I order is always some strange, gross version of what I wanted. I've had veggie egg rolls that were not veggie, really horrible fried rice, and spring rolls that did not resemble any other spring rolls I've ever had in my chinese food-eating experiences. It's slightly cheaper than some of the other chinese food places in the area, but there's a significant drop in quality as a result. Go to Lee Lin. It's the much better option. read more
