    Garlic shrimp and kalbi
    Charleen B.

This is our favorite spot for Hawaiian food. All their food is really good and the service is always really friendly. We've enjoyed everything we've had but my favorites are the kalbi, poke, hurricane chicken, and the garlic shrimp. The poke is always fresh and never tastes fishy. Their kalbi plates have a lot of kalbi and it's always cooked perfectly. The inside is a little small and it's always pretty pretty busy so keep that in mind if going during peak hours. Orders typically take around 30 min to be ready so plan to order accordingly. Definitely give this place a try, you will not regret it. They also have specials sometimes like spare ribs and ribeye so be sure to check their Instagram for any daily specials!

Eni is the best! She's quick to take your order and recommend the perfect options. Greats customer service. Love the small restaurant vibe. These are usually the best food spots. Hapa doesn't disappoint. Food is delicious. It's on the pricy side but you get your money's worth. The malasada doughnuts are so good. Not too sweet perfect flavor. Especially liked the coconut ones. The Poke is fresh and the seasoning is amazing. I need to try the poke nachos next time. Short ribs are so tasty, it's my favorite item. The garlic chicken is crispy and moist l. This has to be the best east valley Hawaiian food spot period.

Excellent Hawaiian food! I got the garlic chicken and short rib lunch, and it was pretty amazing. The short ribs were extremely flavorful, tender, and juicy and left you wanting more. It's a little bit pricey, but you could probably split the entrée with another person or both be plenty full. I recommend this place highly.

First time trying Hapa Food and will definitely be back! I tried the chicken and kalua pig. It was served with rice and Mac salad which were both rich in flavor. I highly recommend "hurricane" style! Xo -B

This place is legit! We've been here twice and I think it's safe to safe it's some of the best if not the best Hawaiian food in Arizona. The kalbi ribs are sooo good! They have ribeye on thursdays and it's definitely a plate worth sharing! If you're craving Hawaiian food this is the place!!!!

First time here. I ordered the kalbi and garlic chicken plate and poke nachos. Everything was good and flavorful but I do wish there was more poke on my nachos. And the garlic chicken I had mostly were breaded not enough meat on it but other than that it was good but we were still hungry after. The place isn't big and it's kinda tight especially if it's busy. Service was great.

Love coming to Hapa for lunch. My favorite to order is the Kalbi & Garlic Chicken mix plate. The beef is juicy and perfectly marinated. I love the ambiance of feel good island music, and the staff is so friendly. I will always come back. If you have enough room after, the fresh filled Malasadas (cream filled donuts) are incredible. I can never get enough of this place!!

Oh my goodness this place is 1000% legit real Hawaiian food. I have been dying to go since I recently came back from Oahu and I actually think this out ranked the street food I was looking for in Hawaii. The staff and service are so great definitely "island vibes" 100% Clean and fast service everything made as ordered.

I think I came across Hapa on instagram. It looked so good that I was dying to try it! The woman at the register was very nice, and she told me the food was made to order, and it would be 30 minutes. There were quite a few people in there so I think next time I would order ahead vs waiting in for 30 minutes... The food did not disappoint! I had the Kalbi and garlic chicken combo . I did t realize the chicken was deep fried. I would have preferred a non deep fried option, but it was good! My daughter had the shrimp and chicken. It was all great, but the portions were huge. We should have split one meal! I also love coconut so I had to try their coconut dessert. I can't remember the name - I think it was snow something - I loved that too! The restaurant is small and simple!

First time trying Hawaiian inspired food. It was good. The cashier lady was pleasant and patient with our family of 5 even though we weren't sure what we wanted to get. Today we tried the galbi and garlic chicken served with rice and mac and cheese, galbi and garlic shrimp, and malasaras ube and custard flavors. We also ordered the Hawaiian sun canned drinks and they were refreshing as well. What stood out to me was the soft custard flavored malasara, please try this when you visit Hapa Food. This place is a fast food casual restaurant and it's worth the trip. The plaza offers plenty of parking spaces.

Been seeing this place on my social media and I absolutely love galbi and steak. We came on a day that served the ribeye 29.99$ and also ordered the galbi plate 24.99. Both were very good along with the Mac salad. The kimchi with the galbi is perfect, I only wish there was more. The plate came with a lot of rice and the galbi had such a great Smokey & sweetness to it. Both were super delicious, Would absolutely love to try the garlic shrimp next. Food took 20~min which was told upfront and it is worth the wait !

Poke nachos and hurricane garlic chicken, shrimp, Mac, and rice.. everything was delicious!

Service was awesome, even when it got busy. Food was amazing! Got the poke nachos, hurricane garlic chicken and shrimp plate, filled malasadas, and lihing gummies :)

Fresh made to order Hawaiian food, very friendly service as well! Will definitely be back to try out the rest of the menu.

Bring on the BBQ and try a new to me location! What I ordered: - Baby Back Ribs: very delicious and tender - some of my favorite ribs recently - Green Chili Mac n Cheese: fairly average Mac n Cheese, and something I'd order again as it complimented the ribs - Cowboy Beans (Pinto): not a fan, and I should know better as team baked beans (skip next time) - Green Chili Corn Bread: pretty moist and a good flavor - green chili is a tasty addition - Old-Fashioned Bread Pudding : SKIP THIS ITEM - mushy and ended up putting in the bin I didn't eat all, and had as leftovers the next day. The ribs were surprisingly just as delightful as the first day! This order has intrigued me to take a trip to the establishment to see the ambiance of dining in, and the service the staff provides. Though, Uber Eats did make it convenient and they were exceptionally friendly dropping off. If you are in the mood for BBQ, I recommend Waldo's.

I don't think I've been so obsessed with a food item until now. Just thinking about it now has mouth is watering. The first time I visited was on July 4th, we got there right at opening and the line of service they have going was a well oiled machine. Their setup is a walk in, get in line and order almost similar to Subway, but better tasting. I got a side of Mac and cheese and cornbread (not pictured, I ate it too fast). It's self seating and they had a ton of options! The second time I visited I ordered at the to go window and got the baked potato again. The window service was fast and the wait wasn't long. They packaged up my food safely and I happily went on my way. I'm honestly looking forward to my next baked potato encounter at this location! Please give them a try, it's so stupidly good here. I can't wait to give their root beer float a try.

If you can't find a spot, there is plenty of free street parking and surface lots around. Ambiance (4.5/5): This is a good-looking BBQ joint. Spacious, with plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors, clean, well-maintained, and it gives off a contemporary, country vibe. I sat at a booth. They also have free WiFi which is a nice touch. Service (4/5): You order at the counter, cafeteria-style. While there was a line, I got through it quickly. They had all of the items I wanted, and I didn't run into any issues. No complaints. Drinks (4/5): They have their own beer which is pretty cool. With that being said, I wasn't in the mood to drink so I got one of their homemade lemonades. Free refills. Food (3.5/5): I am most definitely a BBQ snob. I'm from Houston which has some of the best BBQ in the country. As a result, I have high standards. I went with the meat plate which comes with your choice of 2 meats, 1 side, and cornbread. Pickles, onions, several types of BBQ sauce (spicy, regular, and gold), and honey butter are available free of charge in the soft drinks area. I went with brisket, ribs, and mac and cheese. Out of the two meats, the brisket was my favorite. Fatty and moist, easy to cut, this is how you want your brisket. It's what Texas is known for and they do it well here. The ribs, while flavorful, with a nice marinade on them, were quite small. Especially for a BBQ joint. And the mac and cheese was solid though it didn't blow my socks off. An above average meal but relatively small portion size. Usually, at a BBQ spot, you leave stuffed. Here, you'll leave full. The best BBQ I've had in Phoenix is located in Gilbert... but it's not Joe's. That honor goes to Caldwell County BBQ. With that being said, still solid. And another nice thing is that if you come in on your actual birthday (you have to show them your ID), they will give you $15 off.
