The slaw was fresh, though I wish it had a stronger kimchi flavor but that's just me loving kimchi that much. The macaroni was creamy, noodles al dente, and a great side to the pork. The kalua pork was tender and seasoned well. It wasn't too salty. The poke had a good kick to it and tasted fresh as well. Pretty good place, I would definitely try it again. I was shocked at the amount of seating this place had! The staff was kind and the restaurant looked clean. When attending an event at Revel Surf, a friend and I were wanting to eat something in the area. Seemed fitting to eat Hawaiian food after an evening at the beach. The staff were very friendly, but I noticed at 7:30pm they were out of quite a bit. We noticed no beef option, and other outages. Though we may have ordered differently than intended, the food we did get was pretty tasty! Love the spicy teriyaki and sriracha available at the condiment station. There is a location near my workplace, so I knew this place was pretty good. The store has a beautiful mural on the wall, and lots of seating on either side of the order counter. Pretty decent choice, if you're in the mood for some quick eats in this area. First, it's very exciting to see this part of the area growing rapidly. When I saw Moku Hawaiian Grill come up on Yelp, I had to give them a try. They're set up build-your-bowl style with options of sides, meats, and toppings. It's a pretty quick in and out process if you're in a hurry (assuming there's not a long line, of course). When I had gone in, it wasn't super busy yet so I decided on a Large Plate which came with 2 scoops of rice, 3 meats, and 2 sides. I got one scoop of white rice & then substituted one scoop for a side salad. For the meat options, I got the Teriyaki Chicken, Mochiko Chicken, and Pulehu Chicken. And for my sides, I went with two scoops of mac salad. I expected to like the mac salad the best, and I did indeed like that the most, followed by the Pulehu Chicken. I was really looking forward to this place since I love Hawaiian food and this place is really close to my house. Staff was pretty friendly and knowledgeable. Unfortunately, the food fell short. Out of three meats and two sides for the large plate there were only one of each that was good. The katsu I got no sauces were offered had to ask and it tasted like ketchup. But thebjatsu was pretty moist compared to the other meats. The chickens were way over cooked and dry but atleast one of them had good flavor. The sweet corn isn't sweet, it tasted more like your average canned corn. The garlic edamame was good. Whatever large plate my friend ordered with a premium meat, he was was disappointed too, said his was just as dry, lacked flavor and we both got different meats. Place was clean though. My friend and I most likely won't be visiting again though unfortunately. We were not impressed at all. But wish them the best. I know business has been hard in that plaza. read more

Stopped in for a quick lunch. I ordered a kids meal which was plenty. I got the ahi tuna with rice and kimchi slaw. I added on a side portion of the chicken katsu. I got the spicy tuna however it did not taste anything close to spicy. The kimchi slaw was refreshing and tasty. The katsu chicken was ok-it had an oily taste to it but over all not bad. Since it's still in the soft opening stages, the restaurant noted some items are not available. Staff were great and inviting. We got take out from here a few times.. my thoughts are that it is a hit or miss.. today specifically, we ordered both poke and beef with rice/salad/edamame. While most of the food is very well made, including the delicious salad dressing and poke are 2 of the best things there, the beef was terribly done, flavorless, overcooked and burnt. My jaw hurts from an attempt to eat it. I would not recommend and it's a waste of $ in my opinion because we both threw it out. The service is not bad, they are fast and close to us so we find it convenient. Also clean and nice inside. I took my family to Moku's Hawaiian Grill when they were in town. We were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food. It is very similar to the Hawaiian food we eat in Hawaii. The kalua pork was good, although I think it would have been better if served with cabbage which is how we like to eat it in Hawaii. My Mom got the teriyaki chicken and she ate her whole plate! She is a picky eater too. I like the friendliness of the servers and the fact that I can get gluten free meals is a plus, since I have celiac disease. I ordered the salted edamame and kinchi slaw. They were both delicious. I will be going back there and I recommend this place to anyone wanting a taste of Hawaiian food. The place was busy by the time we left so you know a lot of people have found this place to be a good place to eat. The service here was friendly and quick however the three chicken dishes on my large plate all ranged from piping hot off the stove to lukewarm to straight up cold. Your cook server made a face when I said I was ordering 5 plates I brushed it off like nothing our family loves katsu so when we find a place we like we visit often after getting our order together we had to wait to pay because a lady cut the line for ice cream no problem here with that ...when it was finally time to pay and after your server cook made 3 more plates he loudly said to me "hey boss next time you need to order a catering meal because it easier for us"this was loud enough that everyone in line could hear and made my family feel uncomfortable . so apparently your restaurant which is cafeteria style can't handle a family of 5 ordering dinner so as of this time we will not be going back to your establishment and I'll make the extra 20 minute drive to Aloha kitchen where they always show me and my family great aloha. read more

There is a ton going for this place! Clean fun environment, wonderful staff, great prices. My husband (a big guy) ordered the 2 meat meal with double Mac salad. He loved it and it filled him up. I am Gluten free and was pleased they had gluten free choices. We would add this to our regular rotation if they could make a few more accommodations for their GF clientele. There were only 2 GF sides (corn and edamame (which was excellent). I asked why the green salad wasn't. He said that all of their dressings have gluten. This seems like such an easy work around. The other thing that had me taking my dinner to go was the lack of GF soy sauce. I asked at the counter thinking maybe they just didn't put it out because with so many GF choices I couldn't imagine they didn't have that. They did not. Just picked up a pound of spicy tuna poke from Moku Hawaiian Grill, it is so ONO! Nice sized cubes of fresh tuna, in a creamy spicy sauce with tobiko and green onions! Enjoying my lunch very much. So happy they opened a location near my house! Love that they sell their tuna by the pound like they do in Hawaii, for those of you that have been to Hawaii you know you can buy it at a lot of the Safeway's there in Hawaii as well as the Food lands.
