I would say it's definitely not a good value for your money but maybe if you order the right thing you'll have better luck. The food came out hot and the portions were decent. We dug in. The Kalua pork was cooked perfectly but needed flavor. It was missing some type of seasoning. The chicken katsu was my favorite as it was flavored, crunchy, and crispy - mmmm. The macaroni salad didn't have any flavor and was bland. The white rice was cooked well and the spam masubi was really basic. The pizookie was pretty good but after a few bites it became a little too sweet, so we only ate half. There are several tables set up inside and an outdoor patio. There were a few patrons dining in and several to go orders so it was a pretty busy night. Service was good. My family was visiting from Hawaii, and we were craving some Hawaiian food so we decided to try this restaurant. You order at the counter and there are a few small tables in this establishment if you want to eat there. I have celiac disease and they had several gluten free options which I totally appreciate. The food is as good as what we can get in Hawaii, down to the spam musubi and the Hawaiian Sun drinks. They even had Dole Whip, which of course, we ordered! My Mom is in a wheelchair now and it is handicap accessible but if you're with someone because it would be hard to open the door if you are in a wheelchair. I liked how the place was decorated, simple and with colors reminiscent of Hawaii. The people who work there were very friendly and the prices were very reasonable. I recommend this little cafeteria style restaurant to anyone craving some Hawaiian cuisine. We will definitely be back to enjoy the food again. read more

A feature I have to mention they offer at this location is the Luau. Once a month they put on a luau with whole roasted pig sides and live music. Second your spicy ahi poki is mayonnaise on cubed ahi tuna and has no taste, does not taste like back home. What is the spicy taste? It's so haole style. Second your garlic chicken is not authentic, it tastes like orange chicken from Costco. Third your Kalbi ribs was ok but too small of a portion for what you charged. I paid $51 for two plates and a poki bowl. Brah you need to take it easy on your prices. If the quality of the food tasted like the real deal then ok. Sorry brah no can give you one good rating. Wonderful decor, friendly service, and great food. So glad I found out about this place. I'm from Waimanalo originally, and love going anywhere I can feel like I'm home. I also love that they serve on plates when you dine in. They have a nice menu with all the important things, no major fluff. Prices are great for what you get! Each plate in the pics are less than $20. Actually each was only $16.95 and that was a lot of food. The katsu was crunchy and that sauce was bangin. The loco moco was straight forward. Ooof. I wrote a 5-star review for Moki's about a year ago, as this has been a long time favorite of my family. However, my husband and I have been dismayed at the rising prices. We recently came and were shocked to see the prices had gone up at least $4 per plate. It used to be around $11 or $12 and my husband and I would "splurge" on their takeout because we love it so much. But when it's $16-17 a plate (or $40 for two plates not including drinks), it makes us want to go somewhere else for date night, especially since the portion sizes also seem to be getting smaller. There are some really nice restaurants in the area that are less than that per plate. We'll be skipping on this for now -- way too expensive for the portion sizes and the quality we have noticed has gone downhill. Bummer. read more
