Pretty good overall. The teriyaki sauce was one of my favorite parts because it wasn't overly sweet, and both the chicken and beef were good. I also really liked the Spam musubi. It had a good balance of rice and Spam and I'd definitely order it again. A couple things kept it from being 5 stars. I asked for rice only, but they still gave me mac salad and vegetables, which was a little annoying. I also wasn't a big fan of the mac salad. The plate looks huge at first, but I'd guess there was around a pound and a half of warm lettuce underneath the meat, so it isn't quite as much food as it seems. It also would've been nice if the chicken came pre-cut since it was a little inconvenient having to cut it myself. Even with that, the portions are still solid and I'd say it stacks up pretty well with Hawaiian Bros. It's definitely a different style, but I'd come back. read more

Ordering was very easy as you get the option of ordering in person or at the kiosk. I'd say I waited about 5-10 min for two orders. The chicken katsu had the perfect crispness, not dry at all. The BBQ was my favorite, can't go wrong. They are generous with the amount per plate, which definitely worth the price. This is my favorite Hawaiian spot in all of arizona! I wasn't really a fan of Hawaiin food prior because I think I tried some mid food back in my area, but this place is so amazing. There is a kiosk where you can order. I always get their bbq and katsu special for $14.99. I am able to get two meals out of it because they always stack their plates. The bbq and katsu special includes bbq chicken, katsu, and beef. All three of them are so good, but my absolute favorite is the katsu. They make it so crispy and delicious paired with their katsu sauce. Our food is always ready within 10 minutes. There are a lot of tables inside, but I like to eat outside in their patio area. There's plenty of seating inside as well. The place was clean and the staff were great! You order at the counter and take a seat...they bring your food to your table when ready. I went with the Fire Chicken and loved it! Perfect char on the chicken and the fire sauce had amazing flavor. Their Mac Salad is great as well. The portions are HUGE....I was stuffed! You knowwww what it isss. I was craving Hawaiian bbq again and got the usual bbq mix. Today, we decided to try their sweet potato balls. Biggest mistake ever because now we are going to get it EVERYTIME we are there hahah. It came out freshh, hot, and crispy. It was not overly sweet at all. Great serving sizes, and I love that you can customize how much mac salad and rice you get for your plate depending on your preference. The staff here were helpful and very nice, and got my order out quickly. They have a kiosk to order as well as a register, so it's quick and easy. I loved the katsu and the Mac was yummy but a bit too creamy for me. I tried some of my boyfriend's Galbi and it was great. I also really liked the steamed veggies they served with it. I volunteered with a group to raise money for the Maui Fire & Disaster Fund with Maui United Way on Saturday. When I saw this place the next day, I took it as a sign. There is no such thing as a coincidence. Maui Hawaiian Grill served up some decent eats. The guy at the register was really nice and I enjoyed my Kalua Pork with Cabbage. I got my usual of all macaroni salad and no rice because I like to give my doctor something to worry about. ;D The kalua pork was a tad on the drier side but the mac salad was good. Just add some black pepper and keu a ka 'ono! I spent $16-something for my plate (including a $3 drink). Money well spent. Spending some time in Arizona and we were in the mood for some Hawaiian food. We pulled up our trusty Yelp and found Maui Hawaiian Grill. We called in our order and the employee was friendly. We arrived at Maui Hawaiian Grill in the Mill Pointe Center strip mall and needed to add another plate to our order. Inside was nice and big, with tables and looked very clean. It was busy inside and we let the cashier know we had to add another plate to our call in order, and let him know we were willing to wait for it. To our surprise, they called our number for pick up and let us know they rushed ordered our extra plate and there was no additional wait. Amazing customer service!! We made sure to tip him well. Their macaroni was bomb, and rice was cooked perfectly. As far as the sauces, they could use some work here as they don't have much flavor nor add to the proteins. Sadly disappointed with this meal. After reading the decent reviews came to check them out on a Sunday night, not a single customer was present. Ordered a Chicken Katsu and bbq beef aloha plate along with a bbq chicken and kalbi short ribs plate. To my surprise service was extremely fast took about 3mins to receive our order. I later found out why. It seemed as though they had the katsu on standby as it was cold to the touch inside the fry. It was very off putting especially when Katsu is a fried dish. The bbq beef was also cold and dry, the broccoli that came with the meal was on the raw side. The mac salad lacked the proper acidity for mac salad, need more vinegar.
