Our first time was awesome - kind staff, quick service, delicious food and strong, cheap drinks. We split some very hot calamari which wasn't greasy at all, tried some of the delicious $7.95 drinks and each got shrimp with different spices and heat levels. The only thing we wished we had was bread to dip all the amazing sauce in - going to get the noodles next time to soak up more of the flavor.Gloves and bibs made eating clean and effective! We got the seafood boil with 1 lbs crawfish and 1lbs shrimps, medium Cajun spicy with sausage and the total came out to be $42, which is a bit more pricey than Capt Loui in Stoneham. The food came out in less than 10 mins which was surprising but after I tasted it, I realized they didn't let the seafood boiled in the sauce. The seafood was boiled separately so the sauce didn't soaked into the seafood. You have to dip the seafood into the sauce. The waitress was super nice though, so A + for that. If you want a really good seafood boil, I would recommend going to Capt Loui instead since you can get a free side with pick 2 and the food is much better. read more

Delicious seafood - ordered the shrimp and crawfish "catch your own seafood" option and it did not disappoint. Mainly, though, the crawfish was quite small, which was understandable since it's not in season. I don't recommend the crawfish. The shrimp are very large and tender. Great experience, even during the pandemic! We ate outside at the sidewalk seating and enjoyed lobster tail clams fried shrimp. Only complaint would be the calamari - kind of rubbery/overcooked. Sea Pearl Sauvignon Blanc was great and paired well with the flavorful lobster tail and clams! Service also superb. read more

I want to like this place. Teele Square is a tough location for a new dinner spot. With Shaking Crab nearby, they have a slim margin for error. I had the shrimp with head on and was let down by the quality. It is the same price, but not even close to the quality of the shrimp at Shaking Crab. Also, the hot cajun sauce is not spicy. The service was good and the lychee martini was great and even had a tasty lychee at the bottom I am regularly in the neighborhood and will try them one more time. I just moved to the Teele/Davis square area and figured I would try some spots near me. Not only was this food impressive for COVID takeout but it was one of the best meals I've had in a while. I got the shrimp and clams lunch special with noodles and corn, which came in a bag so you know it was legit. The sauce was Cajun (medium heat) and it was the perfect amount of spice & tasted amazing. Also got the calamari which were huge and delicious. I got the Happy Family combo D today (1lb snow crab legs, lobster tail, corn, potato). The sauce is a bit salty side, but you can get it on the side which is great. Portion wise, I definitely didn't get 1 pound of crab as the menu indicated - disappointing considering that's what I paid for. Take-out during COVID-19: Communication with the restaurant before and during pickup is atrocious. I was parked out front waiting for the food to be done for 30 minutes and when I finally got the food it was cold. Lobster tail entree: I got 1 potato cut in half, still firm on the inside and not properly cooked. I got 1/2 of a corn on the cob, cut in half again, cooked well. 1 Lobster tail, cut in half, chewy and not fresh-tasting. All of that was in a properly spicy sauce. For $18 it was a very small amount of food, not entirely prepared properly. Crab cakes: two dry crab-cakes, not much flavor to speak of, some sauce would've been nice. Clam chowder: pretty basic. Not much flavor beyond the taste of cream, but not terrible. A good amount of clams. read more

I was so excited about this place--being from Louisiana originally, the prospect of getting good, Cajun seafood was almost too much too handle. I really wanted to try the boils but we were on the move and needed something easier to eat. Ordered the shrimp PO-boy and fries which came to $17...and it wasn't anything like a shrimp PO-boy. The shrimp, all 4 of them, were not fresh. They were of the pre-breaded frozen butterfly variety you get at the grocery store. They were on a roll that was super tough and not at all like PO-boy bread. It wasn't dressed like a PO-boy either...Such a disappointment and a waste of money. Hope the Cajun boils are better...or that maybe it was an off night but it's hard to believe a restaurant selling Cajun style food could go so wrong on a shrimp PO-boy. :( read more

Love this place! We are so happy to have it in the neighborhood. We tried it out soon after it opened and didn't know what to expect but we were blown away. It's a unique and fun experience with how the food is served - definitely wear the gloves and bib and eat it with your hands. The sauces are absolutely delicious and so flavorful, the seafood is always tender and perfectly cooked, everything tastes fresh, and there are lots of options on the menu. Loved this place! Great Cajun seafood boil. Fun couples meal or for a bunch of friends. Absolutely GENIUS that they give you not just the expected seafood bib, but a pair of gloves to keep all of the delicious seasoning all over your hands. ubered there so we took full advantage of the tiki drink menu - mai tai, zombie, head hunter are all delicious without being too sweet. Choose a shellfish (or 2 or 3) and your seasoning, add a starch or veg, and you're off. Shrimp, snow crab, and king crab were all top notch. Entrees are a little pricey but good seafood often is - check out their entree happy hour for savings. We'll be back! read more

I decided to treat myself tonight so I ordered from happy crab in Somerville. The food was not that great to say the least. I payed 32.95 for a cluster of over cooked deformed miniature snow crab legs undercooked corn and half of a potato. I ordered muscles as well the deal was buy one get one free half the muscles were not opened when cooked and we all know when you cook muscles if they don't open up you are not supposed to eat them. I definitely did not want to give happy crab any stars but I had to give it one to post this review. read more

I am not sure what the rave reviews are about? I ordered live crawfish and live blue crabs for takeout. I seriously doubt either of those were alive even a week before cooking. The crawfish were smaller than shrimp and the crabs did not taste good. I understand its not crawfish season, but then they should not advertise live crawfish. Won't be returning. The prices are very affordable and the staff was great! They have a full bar with a few tvs if that's your thing. I've never had shaken crab before but I'll give that a shot next time I'm there. The drinks were ok for the price. The food was great. Started with the Calamari. It was coated nice and tender. A little pricey for the amount you get(1$ per piece). Got the crayfish and clam combo with Cajun sauce and listed as hot. I love spicy food and next time will try the Extra Hot ! The wife got the shrimp and mussels combo. Big and lots of shrimp! The corn and potatoes were delicious in all that sauce. I wish they had more different combo choices. A couple things keep it from being a 5 star. The chairs are very uncomfortable.
