They have not been longer than estimated to date. I mixed it up today and ordered Kung pao chicken and egg drop soup. The chicken is cooked perfectly, so tender. The vegetables are still crisp, which is how I like them, it provides more texture. Our carry out order was given to someone else. How does that happen? Hoping our new order is great or we will not be back. No offer of anything to compensate?? Previous cashew chicken order has been mostly carrots. Our 7:30 order pick up is now 8:30 arriving home and we are 10 minutes away. Being greeted by the kind ladies at the stand, and hearing recommendations of what I should order welcomed me and made me excited to try what happy cuisine had to offer. I have good news and bad news regarding this establishment that I have frequented regularly over the last decade or so. First the good news, I believe that this is the best Chinese restaurant in the area. The food is fresh and flavorful. Their servings are generous, especially the shrimp appetizers. Their menu is varied with everything you could ask for and more. Until recently, their service has been prompt with orders being ready at the appointed time. Now the bad, they seem to be having some wait time issues. But I was especially surprised with the price increase with my last order, it was $7 more than expected for two items and an appetizer. I picked up a new menu to find major price increases. Although some items went up by 13%, others were 22% or more. My favorite, pork egg foo young, had gone up 31%. I understand, inflation and differential ingredient costs means price changes. But this seemed like a pretty major jump. Perhaps the price increase will help alleviate the wait time issue. read more

We just moved into the area and decided to try a local restaurant. We ordered crab rangoon, sweet and sour chicken, honey chicken, shrimp mei fun and Szechuan chicken. Everything was delicious! My kids are hooked on their crab rangoon. It was crispy and very flavorful. The honey chicken is my new favorite. It has just enough sweetness. Although, it seems like nobody eats in, the dining area is pristine almost to the point of immaculate. No grimy, sticky tables and chairs! I don't normally order Chinese to-go unless I'm pressed for time (aka lazy), emergency food, and need a cheap eat. I always order a cashew chicken or a chicken with broccoli since those dishes can never go wrong. Food quality is pretty good - no MSG and minimal grease. I have driven by Happy Cuisine tons of times, thinking it was "just another fast food" and not stopping. Then, one day just before I got to their restaurant, I was trying to think of what I'd like for dinner... And, Chinese came to mind. So, I thought I'd give Happy Cuisine "a try". Not knowing what I wanted (a take out), I quickly chose broccoli and chicken and a couple egg rolls. They come in varying sizes; so I got the large. Cost was around $13. Well, when I got home with my order...I was overwhelmed with how good it was and the quantity...enough for at least 3 (maybe 4 days). I'm hooked now. I don't want to go to any other Chinese restaurant because I think this is tops! Decor is minimal, but I get take out. Perhaps in time, they'll upscale; but for now, they more than meet my criteria. Good food, but watch out they don't mess up your order. Three different occasions this happened. The last time, I ordered pork with garlic sauce on-line. At home, I discovered they gave sautéed broccoli. When I called, they said they would replace it. They replaced it, but not with what I had originally ordered. PROS: They offer brown rice and steamed dishes with sauces on the side. We got steamed chicken with garlic sauce on the side and Mongolian beef. My husband and I were just saying that this restaurant never messes up an order. Tonight our dinner plans were canceled last minute, so we decided to order carry-out from Happy Cuisine. My usual is Beef with Broccoli, but when I picked up the order, the beef was chicken. I'll eat chicken, but I don't really like it, so it was worth the effort to return to the restaurant while my family ate in order to get the beef with broccoli that I craved. I was a little nervous about asking them to correct the order, but they were wonderful. I waited a few minutes and they made it up right away. It was wonderful - worth the wait. I am a picky eater and not adventurous at all, so I don't know how their food measures up to other carryout Chinese, but I know their customer service is excellent.
