We have ordered from here a few times. Many times, the rolls look different based upon who is making them I'm guessing. I've noticed you have to enter in 2 of the same roll rather than just adding up the +2 bc they will only give/make you one. This weekend we ordered and several items were missing bc of this. My husband and children ordered chicken hibachi plates and upon cutting up the meat for my kids, I discovered much of the meat looked undercooked. We ended up throwing away both dinners. I thought it is like Benihana with grilling in front of you. Not that way after all. I did not realize by the big outdoor sign that it is express. So the timing worked out for my hour lunch break; I got there around opening. I ordered the lunch special of salmon for $13. It was probably 8 oz. and glazed with a side of broccoli, carrots, zucchini, mushroom, and onions and fried rice with little pieces of egg. I wish the fried rice contained more items. I also tried the onion soup which came with mushrooms. I am glad I tried this restaurant and was full after eating the delicious soup and entree. Usually I always get their dinner for 2 dinner with Calamari. Delicious, BUT they always get my order wrong when I order shrimp Tempura and they give me the sushi roll instead. My kids had the sushi and said it was good, but I'm obsessed with the hibachi at this place. They make it in the kitchen, so no show, but it tastes just as fresh since it is made to order. On three different visits I've had the salmon hibachi, the chicken hibachi, and the veggie hibachi. My kids ordered more sushi and the unagi bento box on a subsequent visit, so they must have really enjoyed the sushi pictured with this review. The waitstaff has been nice. Hibachi "express" may be my new favorite! I like Hibachi, aka Teppanyaki but I don't like sitting in front of the grill as I don't enjoy the heat... Originally I had a craving for steak and but when I looked on the menu I didn't immediately see that I believe you could have that if you chose to do a two meat entree. I just set it on steak, it came with vegetables and rice and a nice light salad with iceberg lettuce and house dressing. I have ordered chicken teriyaki in the past but it's more than I like to eat(chicken, steamed rice, plus California roll, veggie tempura). In terms of hibachi in Indianapolis this place hits the mark. I've only ever picked up from here, but I've never been disappointed. The fried rice is really good, but you HAVE to get the yum yum sauce on the side to bring it over the top. It's as good as I've had from any hibachi place. Came here to meet with a friend for lunch and he was craving sushi so I suggested Hiro. When I got there, I noticed they added another room which was so nice. There was a wall to separate the two rooms in sections and bigger parties are on one side, small parties on the other. I remember coming here when they first opened and it reminded me of ordering at the Castleton Mall where they limit on what you can get. Now they actually upgraded their menu and there's more than a few options ! Their sushi menu seemed to expand as well. We got Shumai (Shrimp) Dumplings for an appetizer. It wasn't bad, soft, bouncy, and was steamed perfectly. Would definitely get this again, might try the chicken dumplings next! For our lunch portion , my friend got the yellowtail and spicy tuna rolls, and I got the shrimp tempura. He really enjoyed his rolls and mine were not too bad but not the best I've had. But it was good and we cleared our plates pretty quickly. They had quite a bit of stuff on their menu this time, there's bento boxes, noodle soup dishes, and a decent amount of appetizer options. This is a great place to go for good hibachi without the huge price tag. My son loves the steak and chicken although he did mention this last time that it was a little too salty even for him but I'm still giving 4 stars because other than that there haven't been any complaints. I enjoy the salmon bento box. Their salmon has always been consistently cooked well and a generous portion size. I replace the California roll with the shrimp tempura roll.
