While the eggs themselves were cooked well, I couldn't help but wonder, where was the Hollandaise sauce? The key part of the dish was missing. I personally would get just the Biscuit with Bacon next time, because I liked the Bacon more than the Ham, although no complaints! Biggie Biscuits with Sausage Gravy, one word HUGE, or should I say Biggie? Either way you get a lot. Delicious as well. French Toast with Orange Cranberry Cream, I would 100% get this again. Or try to remake this somehow at home, it was my favorite meal I tried from here! All meals we got were served with Potatoes, and they were good! First time at restaurant. We went Tuesday about 2:00pm (they close at 3:00pm). They are opened for breakfast and lunch, entire menu is served all the time. We were greeted by a friendly gentleman as we entered. We viewed the menu, though I knew what I wanted before hand as I had checked out the website. I had the Fried green tomato sandwich and my Mom had the BBQ pulled pork sandwich. We ordered onion rings to share and a peach lemonade and a blueberry lemonade. We chatted with the cashier as we waited for our food. When it arrived we cut the sandwiches in half so we could share. Took my first bite of the FGT sandwich and it was amazing! The bacon was crispy and the spinach a nice fresh touch. The BBQ sandwich was also very good. My Mom kept saying she was surprised that there weren't more people here. We were the only ones there (there had been a couple there when we entered and three people came as we were leaving). The drinks were lovely and I thought the breading on the onion rings was a bit heavy. The place was quaint and cute. Would definitely go again! Happy Day is another spot I would give 3.5 stars, but am rounding up since that isn't an option. This cafe is in an unassuming shopping center by the I35/1604 interchange. It's a small spot with minimal clutter on the walls and a streamlined menu. I will say that the floor is very sticky, probably from using too much soap in their floor cleaner. They need to mop with just hot water for a bit to get that soap off the floor, as it is very off-putting when your shoes stick as you walk. The menu is listed on a chalkboard and you order at the counter and then find a table. My mom and I went on a Saturday morning at about 9am, and they weren't very busy. Just us and a couple other tables in the joint. We ordered the biscuit benedict (eggs benedict but with biscuit instead of english muffin) and the cranberry orange french toast, both with breakfast potatoes, and unsweet tea. The food came out fairly quickly, but we noticed that the french toast looked a little overdone. It still tasted ok, but they really shouldn't have served it like that, and should have redone it. They do have sugar-free syrup which was great for my diabetic momma. The syrup tasted ok, but had a very odd, gooey texture, almost like glue. It made it hard to eat without it getting on everything! The eggs on the benedict were perfectly cooked, which is no mean feat! The sauce was good as well, but was quite salty. The biscuit was well baked, and I would like to try one without toppings to get a better idea of how it tastes on its own. The potatoes were one of the hightlights, as they were golden brown and crisp, with onions and peppers scattered throughout for additional flavor and texture. I would go again, but I can't see it becoming a favorite as the menu was quite limited and, again, the french toast was overdone. However I would say this is a place that is worth a try. read more

I discovered this quaint little place through one of my groups. It came highly recommended for breakfast, but, unfortunately, I didn't get to savor their breakfast. I arrived about 15 minutes before closing, so instead I opted for some of their baked goodies. I got some of their cupcakes and a German chocolate cookie, which were good. The German chocolate cookie was a chocolate cookie with a sort of coconut cocoa topping. It's was certainly different, a bit too sweet for me, but I had just tasted one of the cupcakes. The cupcake frosting was tasty. The place itself has plenty of seating and has a very cozy feel. It is newly opened so it looks squeaky and clean. My husband and I frequent this small hole in the wall often. I love the staff and the music they play. If you've never been here, it's a small place. You walk up, order first off the chalkboard menu, and the staff will bring it out to your table. I have not deviated from this yet, but... I swear I will. I always forget to take photos of my food cause it never crosses my mind till it's all gone. I do have to say this, that little snack cabinet they have up front at the cash register... It's dangerous!! A gal can gain some serious pounds from that cabinet. I have not had something from there that wasn't good. My favorite cookie is the oatmeal apple cinnamon. I ask for it every time I visit.
