Whenever I visit my hometown of San Antonio, TX, I generally have lunch or dinner with one of my brothers or both. Today, it was brunch with my big brother at The Brunch Spot in Converse, TX (suburb of San Antonio), and it absolutely lived up to its name. I ordered the avocado toast and my brother ordered the French toast served with eggs and bacon. Their slogan is "we're serving up sunshine". Love that! Who don't need a little sunshine? Everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The avocado toast was simple...creamy avocado spread generously over hearty toast, seasoned perfectly and topped with a fresh egg whites that tied it all together. It was filling without being too heavy and tasted even better than it looked. The French toast was the real delight. The bread was thick, soft on the inside, and lightly crisp on the outside, with just the right amount of sweetness. Paired with well cooked eggs and crispy, savory bacon, it struck that perfect balance between sweet and savory that makes a brunch memorable. Beyond the food, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Na, short for Ajanay, was friendly and attentive. The Brunch Spot is definitely a great choice if you're looking for a satisfying, comfort style brunch.
Great food very popular location with a lot of people picking up orders. The food was good had the catfish and grits it was lightly breaded and crispy. Grits were good as well. Everyone in our group enjoyed their selections. The restaurant is kind of small but the staff does a great job managing the flow. The only downside is when busy the parking is very limited.
I left this location disappointed. I had my heart set on shrimp and grits. I've had them before and it was excellent. Today I left in tears. I was served grits and a watery sauce. I have no clue why it affected me in this manner. I really needed consistency today. I immediately packed it up and left what was supposed to be some me time.
The food was amazing! My wife got steak and eggs with grits. The grits were creamy and buttery and seasoned perfectly. The steak was cooked really well too. I got the breakfast bowl. My eggs were cooked perfectly. the way that the steak mixed with the guacamole and the bacon with the savoriness of the mushrooms, was just so great and then to top it off, they added sun-dried tomatoes in it, which gave it a brightness and freshness. such an amazing place. Lastly, the service was fantastic as well. The server was very attentive to us and incredibly nice and we had a nice conversation as well. Highly recommend this place.
I've already given them a review but I have gone back several times since. This time I had fish and grits. The grits had a nice flavor but I like mine really hot and these weren't. The fish was fried to perfection. Service was good and the atmosphere felt welcoming.
Great little restaurant for brunch! The service here was great! Everyone was friendly and we received our order so quick. They have a great coffee bar too we will come again!
From now on when I think of a place to take the fam to have brunch; this is the place...hands down!! The service at The Brunch Spot is so top notch. ALL the staff are kind, courteous, welcoming, and go out of their way to ensure your experience with them is memorable and enjoyable. It's a very bright place that is often very busy and can be a little loud at times. So, expect a wait when arriving. But for the food and service it is well worth it. The catfish & grits is a dish that they can build a reputation on. All the food is well made and comes out of the kitchen in a timely manner. Congrats to the owner and her family for establishing and running a great place that was so needed in the northeast part of the city. Best of luck and I look forward to returning again in the near future
I was happily surprised by the food here. I got a massive 10oz steak for my steak and eggs which was perfectly cooked and seasoned great! Their grits are a perfect pair for the meal & their biscuits are great! The servers and manager were super kind and made sure to come talk to our table and see how we were doing. Definitely would come back - everyone in our group of 7 loved their food and that's hard to come by!

The server is rude as all hell, I ordered a hot mocha and argued with her about 5 minutes as to whether a mocha is a coffee.. she says I can't order a mocha. I'm done. No tip either I promise that. This is our Second time here and we managed to get bad servers both times.. this is really the only place I've had bad service at in the whole area. Also, parking sucks. Food is mediocre at best. All in all, just go elsewhere. "The biscuit company" is better. Edit to mention that the server decided it was cute to pour salt on my food and bring me burned bacon after I complained.
Food: the chicken was seasoned very well, waffle was good but didn't need so much powdered sugar on it and eggs were good. The shrimp and grits are not pictured but were good the only thing the grits were watery. Service: great service Ambiance: it's was nice.
Surprising little locally owned brunch spot in Converse. We popped in after driving by and were delighted. Clean and neatly decorated. They have tables, booths and window seating. Our server was delightful, helpful, and efficient. She gave us great service. The entire staff seems very happy to be there, and you can tell by the wonderful service they provide. I chose to have the donation plate. It was a delightful meal and 20% of the cost is donated to local charities. Love that. My plate included two eggs, sausage, bacon slice of ham and a fluffy pancake. I couldn't even eat it all. Would definitely do it again. My husband had the brunch plate. Wonderfully satisfying. his plate included sausage, bacon, ham two eggs, a biscuit and fried potatoes. Great little place. We will definitely be back.

We tried The Brunch Spot and it lived up to the hype! My wife had the shrimp and grits and the flavor of the shrimp was amazing. I had the chicken fried chicken--absolutely incredible--and the homemade biscuits were soft, buttery, and some of the best I've had. The vibe was fun and upbeat with great music, making the experience even better. The hospitality really stood out: the owner checked on us personally, and you can tell she really cares and treat everyone like family. Amazing food, great atmosphere, and genuinely welcoming people. We'll definitely be back and highly recommend The Brunch Spot! read more
Since moving to Texas, and specifically this area, I really hadn't found any worthwhile breakfast/brunch places....until now. The Brunch Spot had been on my bookmarked breakfast places to try. As luck would have it, we were in the area, and just happened to be hungry. It was a Monday morning, around 10ish, and this place was poppin'! Lol, like do people not have jobs?! But I digress...back to the review. We were greeted by Jocelyn, who also ended up being our server as well. She was AMAZING! We perused the menu and everything sounded delicious. I decided on the Waffle Plate, because a Belgian waffle sounded really good. My better half ordered the French Toast Plate. The food came out pretty quick. However, my order was missing the waffle, which I mentioned. Apparently, there was a misunderstanding in what I ordered. Jocelyn took care of it immediately, and apologized and assured me that she would bring out the waffle at no charge. That's great customer service! It ended up being a happy accident though, because I loved what I received. I guess it was a sausage platter, which had my favorite type of link sausage. So, it's definitely going to be my go-to order every time! We are definitely coming back, on a regular basis. The French Toast Plate was also very good. As was the Kool-Aid, and the Caramel Iced Coffee. If there is ever Kool-Aid on a menu, I'm always going to order it! And this Kool-Aid did not miss. It was diabebes sweet, just the way I like it! Overall, it's a really cool place, and my favorite breakfast/brunch spot now. It's nice and tidy inside, and the staff is welcoming and friendly. Lol, my only gripe was the parking. But, I would gladly park somewhere else and walk here, because it's definitely worth it. read more

What a lovely place! Absolutely unexpected blessing. Wow! This place was absolutely lovely in every way. I am typically kind of a brunch hater because it's pretty standard and the same most places, but this place slapped me in the face with flavor and spunk! So good. The food which I received was a simple omelette but the chefs out did themselves with the flavors. It was nice and fresh, came out piping hot, also seasoned perfectly along with the potatoes. The biscuit tasted fresh and delicious. The coffee was also perfect, definitely good enough to pass by other coffee spots on the way! Very good flavor profile in the coffee but also balanced perfectly with sweetness. As if the food wasn't good enough the staff was also just perfect. They were extremely kind throughout our entire visit, attentive to our table, and quick to get food, refills, as well as the check. The restaurant itself was decorated very cutesy , only complaint there is the tables are a bit closer than I'd like but not a problem really! Overall definitely will be back! This was our first time visiting The Brunch Spot, and we absolutely loved it! The ambiance was cool and welcoming, and the staff was amazing -- customer service on point from start to finish. My husband ordered the catfish and grits. He said the grits and sauce were incredible, but the catfish could've been fried a little longer to his liking -- so that dish gets a 3/5 from him. I had the chicken and waffles, and they were amazing! The chicken was fried to perfection, seasoned perfectly, and the waffle was soft and flavorful. My daughter ordered the brunch burger and loved every bite. My son had the chicken with homemade fries, scrambled eggs, and avocado toast -- he literally ate everything except the plate! My littles enjoyed the kids' pancakes, eggs, and bacon, and even asked for more. What's not pictured is the Tabby Avocado Toast -- truly the star of the show! We all shared it, and by the time I thought to take a picture, the plate was already empty. All in all, we'll definitely be back. The food, service, and vibe were all great. I'd just ask next time for my husband's fish to be fried a little harder. Other than that, everything was delicious. read more

My family and I had an amazing first experience here! We decided to try a new brunch place and my husband stumbled upon The Brunch Spot by googling near by locations. It was semi-busy we had put ourselves in the waitlist the server told us it would be 30-40 min wait but it actually went by a lot faster than that. Very limited parking so get there early if you really wanna try this place. We were welcomed with smiling faces and very kind service, our girls ordered the chocolate chip waffles with a side of bacon sausage and eggs. I ordered the brunch bowl super delicious and great portions! My husband chose a "dine & donate" which is a donation option that is offered, you basically order the pancake with one side of bacon or sausage and choice of egg and what you pay the restaurant will donate it. Very small compact place but very lovely smells like maple syrup as you walk in. We most definitely loved it we will be coming back! Thank you for the great food and service. read more

Let us start with the parking!!!! It is horrible! Horrible is being nice! It's a small location. The staff was friendly but would I return No! I orders the grilled pork chop and eggs with grits and a biscuit! The pork chop was dry and lacking flavor and hard oh and extra thin! The eggs were greasy! The biscuit was fluffy and buttery! We also had the brunch bowl add bacon! We could not even eat it! Nothing about to was okay! Nothing!!! We kept saying it's protein !! Would I come again! No! The wait to receive the food was longer than the wait to get a table. Again parking is horrible!!! Apologizes for the after I prayed and started to try to eat!! read more

**The Brunch Spot - San Antonio, TX** Such a gem! The Brunch Spot has quickly become one of my favorite places to eat in San Antonio. From the moment we walked in, the homey and welcoming vibe hit us--in the best way. It's cozy, casual, and has this charming mix of comfort and cool. The service was top-notch--everyone seemed genuinely happy to be there and it really showed. You could tell the staff got along well, which made the atmosphere even better. Big shoutout to **Ashley**, who went above and beyond by bringing toys to our table for the kids--they loved it! The food feels like a home-cooked meal made with love, and the prices are incredibly reasonable for the quality. They've also got a cute little cafe bar inside where coffee, mimosas, and sweet tea come out super fast. It does get busy, especially on Sundays, so if you can--make a reservation to skip the wait. But if there's a line, don't worry--they have comfy outdoor seating and free lemon or fruit-infused water while you wait (yes, unlimited!). A smaller brunch spot where you wait to be seated at the door. Hint: if dining in enter through the door to your right. Space is limited and they have kids menus with small plastic toys availble. The waitress was very friendly. I ordered a breakfast bowel with added avocado and bacon and it was tasty. The kids plates are a good portion size. The only thing is this place has some training needed for employees as you can tell this is a new business. For example, waitstaff having "of shift" conversations while next to tables, walking out to the parking lot to view a friends truck, not handling simple request (grabbing a to go cup for a table) but instead finding another server to do it. I had to wait excessively long at the door for a table when staff were available and many tables were open, had to wait a while to place my offer, get a refill, never received my water, and wait longer to get the check. I feel with proper training this place can easily become a brunch spot that has a wait list, read more

We need more places like this in Converse. Everything was delicious and we will definitely be back! We got a parking spot, but it would definitely be difficult to park close during peak hours. Our waitress gave us a few suggestions for places to park across the street in case we come during a busy time. :) read more

This used to be another breakfast spot, and saw that a new business had moved in and decided to try it out. Decor is minimal but works well and the staff are super friendly and welcome you in when you come in. Coffee is strong and good! My daughter and I shared the chicken and waffle. Yes the wings were small but were loaded with flavor and juicy! The waffle was also delicious! Bacon was crispy. Nicholas was our server and was polite and kept my daughter's water glass full. Price wise it wasn't horrible either-29.23 for two coffees, chicken with waffle and one side of bacon. Definitely a quiet spot with good food to try out read more

The food was amazing. My son loved his pancakes and eggs. The omelette I had was seasoned to perfection. The area was so cute and very spacious and the server. She was so helpful and very nice. Everyone was very nice. read more
