Awesome retro sub shop

I can't say that this place was made for me. But that's because it was made for every other child of the 80s and 90s who wants a cool throwback Between the video game machine and the music that they play and the television shows on the TV it was an amazing feeling to get back to my childhood. That being said none of that would matter unless the sandwich was good. Thankfully, my Italian was wonderful. It was so good that after fighting me about it my child ate it and also admitted that it was good. We will definitely be back for sandwiches and video games

Rodeo Clown

Love this local sandwich shop, with some truly wicked wiches. I ordered the rodeo clown which had a nice spice to it. Good quality meats, good bread, amazing flavor, cool vibes, friendly service. You can make your own sandwich or order one of their signature sandwiches. Either way you can't go wrong.

I won't waste your time with a long winded review. These sandwiches are epic. Service is phenomenal. The building perfectly setup. All around i wish I could give more stars than the 5 allowed. Good price, good portion and amazing taste. Definitely be back and back again

one of the best sandwiches ive had in SA. we saw online the opening of the new location on bandera, but decided to go to the one on fred rd. i got the weekly special, the chicken club and it was SOOO good and fresh and full of chicken. my bf got the italian which was super good, im personally just not a huge fan of the italian meats BUT i would eat this one again. service was amazing. there are only a few tables but we found a seat against window

Wicked wich is a staple downtown for sandwiches, they have a sandwich of the week, you can get their sandwiches cold or hot and they're made hot and fresh. They are less busy at night, but pick up speed in the lunch time and it may be hard to order so get here early! I always get the hero because it's tasty and has all my favorite vegetables. You can get soda cans and chips. The vibe is awesome it's my fav sandwich place in the city and the most clean!

Hard NO! Can't believe that they have all these great reviews??? Out the door for a regular menu sandwich and the "obligatory " tip, it was 16 dollars.........no special requests, no fairy dust, nothing. Wow, nothing substantial at all! I was so let down! You get 2 whole Jimmy John's for this price! I was still hungry, but too late to go out, and too mad to try to attempt a delivery failure! Seriously I was so sad! I had high hopes, but then again 16 dollars??????

Wemby Stack. Delicious.

We came before the lunch rush and there were 2 customers after us but they both got their orders before us so we were kind of disappointed by that. Cool decor and memorabilia art. As for the sandwiches, we got the Wemby & The Beast. The Wemby was a definite 10/10 stacked and flavorful in every bite The Beast was .. okay. 7.5/10 It was pretty good but I didn't really enjoy the bread that was used so if they have other options for it I'd def like to try it again. Seeing it next to the Wemby Stack def showed the value missing in amounts of ingredients

The food is da bomb diggety delicious! Great customer service too! Interesting decor inside. Kind of a spacey vibe! Very chill music.

The rodeo clown with bacon and avocado

Had been meaning to go by and glad I finally did. This place surpassed my expectations. The place is rather small but it's clean and tidy. I had the rodeo clown with bacon and avocado some chips and a drink. It was amazing and very flavorful I highly recommend this place and definitely going back to try their other sandwiches 8 out of 10

Tom Tom (turkey pesto)

Vibes are immaculate just like their food! We ordered the mae melt and the tom tom (turkey) this time -- both were unique and had great flavor. I lowkey just wished there was a litttttle more meat on my tom tom sammy but other than that, it was another fantastic visit to the neighborhood sandwhich shop!

Food was okay. Not a big deal as I thought it would be. I was expecting lots of flavors or at least a very unique taste from other reviews but was a bit disappointed. First, the bread isn't long and they don't put a lot of meat in it, but veggies. Secondly, in my opinion, the sandwich and a soda is over priced and not worth it. Service was fast and easy. Not too many customers when I walked in. The place isn't that big and only has 2 or 3 small tables to seat and eat. There are high chairs by the front windows that you can sit down, if no tables are empty. Overall, I would rather go to subway because you get a bigger bread and meet for the price.

This place is a great stop for a quick but yummy lunch! Their sandwiches were nice and warm, fresh, and made to order in front of us. Staff was so kind and went out of their way to cater to us and constantly check in that everyone had a positive experience. It was super cool inside as well and the place was nice and neat! Would definitely recommend for a good sandwich!

Came by for a sandwich durning my lunch break. There was a constant flow of people ordering sandwich's but even with only two staff members the sandwiches came out quick. The staff was friendly and helpful. Had the wemby with some chips and it was great. The locations was small but clean and new looking. Definately coming back.

This the only pic I got because it was so good

It's the kind of place folks drift into and, before long, start calling their own. The people there carry themselves with quiet pride--no fuss, no show--just a steady hand at their work and a genuine welcome for whoever steps through the door. The menu ain't thrown together. It's been shaped with care, like a well-tuned string on a guitarra, each choice meant to stand on its own but better still when taken together. The flavors come through bold and honest, with a little flourish here and there--nothing overdone, just enough to remind you somebody back there knows what they're about. It's a small spot, sure, but that only draws folks closer. Feels a bit like gathering under a shaded porch after a long day--easy talk, shared laughter, and the sense you're among friends, whether you've known 'em years or just met 'em. Every greeting carries the warmth of old ties, like you've been welcomed back rather than simply let in. And the food--well, it doesn't hold back. Each bite's got a richness that settles in and makes you slow down, take notice, and then go back for more. It's the kind of meal that stays with you, the way a good story does. Spend a little time there with friends, and you'll come away knowing you've found something true--a place where the spirit of San Antonio, with its charro heart and neighborly ways, lives on in every plate set down and every hand extended in welcome.

So, when co-workers wanted to go yesterday, I jumped on it. Don't get me wrong. I love the vibe of this place. I LOVE their story. It's very NY/Northeastern deli feel (they're from Pittsburgh, but you get my drift, right!?). No nonsense. Small inside area. No tables inside. Just enough room to look at the menu, order, and go wait outside. I opted for the chicken bacon ranch on hoagie. What came out was a decent size sandwich, but incredibly messy and soggy. There was so much juice/ liquid the sandwich quickly became unmanageable and just disintegrated. Look, if you're going to serve a sandwich that messy, please upgrade your napkins. It was a one bite - two napkin ratio. The sandwich was good, but the mess and difficulty eating it just took away any enjoyment. Additionally, the flies outside rivaled the worst I've experienced. Do you remember the scene in the Lost World, Jurassic Park movie when the hunters found the Rex nest!? Okay, okay, maybe not that bad, but it was a lot. Hang some fly bags or strips or somethin'. Found price to be a little high. By the time I bought chips and a drink, plus tip: $22. Just FYI: my co-worker disagrees. He thought it was the BEST SANDWICH HE'D EVER HAD. So, yes, go give them a try, but bring a beach towel for clean up.

I stopped by during the early afternoon after lunch, so it wasn't too busy and ordering was quick and easy. The employees at the register were super friendly, answered my questions, and made the experience welcoming for a first-time visitor. Although I had already eaten beforehand and didn't get to try any of the sandwiches or food items yet, the menu looked delicious and gave me plenty of reasons to come back. I did order an iced vanilla latte with almond milk, and it was so good -- smooth, flavorful, and honestly hard to put down. The decor and ambiance were probably one of my favorite parts. The space has a very chill, cozy atmosphere that makes it a great spot to catch up with a friend or just hang out for awhile without feeling rushed. My drink also came out pretty quickly, which I appreciated. One thing I was initially concerned about was parking, but I ended up finding street parking about a block away pretty easily. I could definitely see parking becoming more difficult during busier times in the area though, so that's probably something to keep in mind depending on when you visit. Looking forward to coming back soon to finally try the food!

Usually Wagyu is known to be juicy and moist, but this tasted nothing like that caliber. It was disappointing but at least not very pricy. Fries were okay but pretty chopped up and not the style I prefer. Some of the other places looked promising like the ice cream and cafe. The poke/ceviche also sounded good on paper but when we walked by (maybe around 1.5-2 hours before closing), the quality of the raw fish didn't look too great and was a little discolored so we passed. Do yourself a favor and fight for street parking. I walked up to the outside counter Saturday night about 7:20. Never been here. The ladies behind the counter obviously could NOT have cared less. No nice welcome...no pleasantries. Nothing said. I spoke first, asking about seating availability inside (it was chilly), and they were rude - looked at me like I was from outer space and said they didn't know. They said they didn't know in that "yeah, good luck with that...it's Saturday at 7, dumbass" kinda way. How could you not know? And if you truly didn't know, which one of them should have gone to check for me. So I went and checked myself. Turns out: plenty of seating. Returned to the chilly duo and placed my order. Ordered the Wake and Bacon burger. I also ordered a Topo Chico, which was also met with a blank "are you from this planet?" stare. How do you not have Topo Chico or something similar !? The burger was just okay. Tiny, but tasty. Fries were so salty and over-seasoned as to be almost inedible. No one checked on me after bringing me my burger. Not one time.
