He loved the variety of activities and made so many new friends. He came home with fun stories each day. I loved that they offered a variety of options from 2 days/week to 5 days. We returned last summer and an unexpected and sudden medical event threw our summer for a loop. They were beyond kind and accommodating. Michael, the owner, personally made sure we were taken care of at a very scary time and was just incredibly kind and communicative. I can't thank him and his staff enough for the support. I would recommend this camp for any family. Its like a classic, old-school summer day camp experience!

However, we decided to pull him out for next week because of a very disturbing situation. He shared that a counselor had pushed him with both hands on his shoulders during a capture the flag activity. He had dropped his flag and was putting it back on when a counselor (he didn't know her name) pushed him back hard enough to make him lose his balance and fall. She also barked "you need to reset!" She didn't ask if he was ok or help him up. You'd think if this was an accidental push and he fell over she would say something like "sorry bud are you ok? Here let me help you up" but nope, not a word. A friend he's attending camp with witnessed the whole incident. Since I pick them both up in the afternoons they both recounted this situation to me and both of them noted how inappropriate her behavior was. I immediately reached out to Michael, the owner of the camp. He said he wanted to identify this counselor and get her side of the story. Understandable. My son felt uncomfortable going back the next day but I reassured him it would be handled and offered to drop him off in the morning and stick around to talk to Michael and the counselor. I wanted him to feel safe. Michael identified her (her name is Carson) and said he wanted to talk to her first, which he did a few feet away from me. I heard her say she didn't push him. They then walked over to me and she again denied everything. So we asked both kids to come over and recount what happened. They both did -- in front of her -- and reiterated she pushed him. She denied even touching him. So Michael suggests at this point that perhaps it was an accident and my son responds by saying "how do you push someone like that by accident?!" No response. So I ask her, are you saying these kids are lying? She again said she didn't touch him and at this point we send the kids away. I'm incensed because not only does she gaslight both of them to their face but tells this bold faced lie to her boss in front of the campers and me. I tell her I believe them and I think she's the one lying. At this point she gives me this dirty look - angry, irritated and almost rolls her eyes at me. I turn to Michael and say "and now she's giving ME an attitude?!" Unbelievable. In a follow up call, he tells me how good of a person she is and that this is shocking for him to hear but that she doesn't seem like someone who would do something like this...that she's getting her teacher credentials and he knows her really well. I am getting the vibe he doesn't actually believe any of this and he sounds very skeptical. I respond by telling him that it's almost always surprising when people exhibit bad behavior and that even teachers do bad things...that doesn't make her any more credible in my eyes. He acknowledged that. In fact, it's worse because I would be really concerned to have someone like that teaching a kid. Lack of empathy, accountability, and integrity. I mean, I think it's great he's trying to have her back but there are moments in life when you need to draw a line and act swiftly...these are one of those moments. Because ultimately, this impacts the reputation of your camp. I told him that it would be good to offer training to his staff in case this ever happens again in the future and honestly he sounded baffled and asked me to clarify...I said well maybe tell your staff not to give dirty looks to a mom who's clearly upset that her son just got pushed by a grown adult at summer camp?? I told him that the response to this situation could've resulted in a totally different outcome. Had she said something like "I really don't recall pushing you but if I inadvertently did and made you feel bad I'm sorry - I didn't mean to do that" - I would've went home that morning feeling fine about the situation. When I told him this he said that he's not going to police all her reactions, that she's still young, that she's still learning and made all kinds of excuses for her. Exhausting. Apparently she got a "warning" and will sit out of the flag activity (umm, ok...). He seems like a smart guy and wish him nothing but success in the future and I was earnestly trying to offer advice for how to handle a situation like this better but it fell on deaf ears. I really hope that some kind of learning comes out of this for both of them. Oh and to top it off, my son's friend told her mom that Carson was giving her looks several times throughout the day today and when she asked what kind she said "side eye" looks. NOT COOL. My son also said she was kind of mean to him but wondering why they were even in close proximity when Michael said they'd absolutely be separated and would not see each other? Validates we both made the right choice by pulling them both out. He offered a refund but I'm still pissed about the situation.

It was suggested I try the toddler-3 year old class instead which was more like a mommy and me class. I stopped my first trial half way through and they offered the other class as a trail since I didn't finish the first one. Very understanding of the situation. Unfortunately I haven't had the time to sign up to be part of the regular class yet but I will when time permits. My son loved it. Also, make sure you park in the structure (free) and not the side building as that's reserve for the businesses near them, don't want to risk getting towed.

All the time and effort working with Coach, how can another coach help them get better for the next season?? I'm disappointed with the management here. They don't know how to operate a gym. Before Coach came, they changed out 5 different coaches. Now, my daughter has been with her for 2 1/2 years. She's helped her get better and better as well as her other teammates. My daughter has witnessed plenty of drama with the staff, some I'm concerned because at her age--she doesn't need to be witnessing the drama happening here. We would have left but she didn't want to leave her teammates and Coach, so we stayed. Now that the head coach is gone, all the gymnasts are devastated and don't want to stay. We cannot have a repeat again of revolving new coaches. Finding a good experienced coach is not easy. Us parents have all cancelled our membership today because we don't agree with the decision. That should say enough about how we feel about Coach. A warning to all new members: this gym doesn't appreciate talent. I don't think you should invest your time and money at a place that will make decisions impacting your child's dreams without any consideration. Do yourself a favor and find a gym that supports talented coaches and talented gymnasts for the long term.

He is now 2 years old, and we began when he was just turned 1. He learns so much, comes back home everyday with happy memories, and even lists of the names of his friends when we start heading over to the daycare. There have been only a small amount of times where I brought something to the attention of the staff and director of the school, and both times (yes, only 2) everything was dealt with professionally, effectively, and I felt like my voice was heard and respected as a parent. I am elated to have come to know the school. Highly recommend. Bonus feature, they have cameras throughout the daycare, and we as the parents have a direct visual into the main classroom whenever our child is checked in. So if ever I am missing him, and I need more than just the photo updates they send daily through the app, I am able to log in and watch him play and learn with his classmates.

The only positive were a couple of the classroom staff throughout the years who were kind and patient with the kids. These staff members often ended up moving on.

The staff says what you want to hear, but again and again no change is made. Disappointing from an owner that is a former educator so she is well aware of the screen time limits and recommendations for elementary aged children. I have noticed that some sites are being run much better than others, so be aware to actually check on what your child is doing each day there after homework is done. Don't rely on the staff, but check internet usage and ask your child. Maybe your school site program differs.

Gradually my son would come home sad and upset. At first, I brushed off his complaints as maybe he just had a random rough day. Today, I picked up my son and Ms. Billy complained about his projects and all kinds of stuff right in front of my son. My son came to the car crying feeling terrible about his artwork. I asked him several questions about what happened as I didn't want to make any rash judgements about the teacher. He explained that he felt that Ms. Billie was being mean to him and that he was really struggling with clay (it's a new skill for him). I asked if she helps him with his clay a little extra since he's obviously struggling more than the rest of the more experienced students (I'd think she'd spend a little extra time with him). He said no - she was drinking tea and when she came back he had made a snail project where its tongue broke off and couldn't put it back on. He said he destroyed it and my son said she made another mean comment to him: "ohh so you're breaking stuff, instead of making stuff". He was struggling to put on the tongue, which you didn't help him with. Ms. Billy told me it was Gary the snail which didn't go with the CA theme they're working on. Ok. My question is: how is one of your struggling students able to make an entire snail project without you noticing until he's that far along with it? Then, the tongue falls ogf of it, you make a comment to him about it being wrong, he destroys it, you make another comment to him about him about breaking things instead of making things. Ok. If she's going to drink tea instead of helping struggling students then she shouldn't be surprised about them struggling. He said she was helping the other students - not him so much. He also said he got up to grab a toothpick, and she said to him "you're disrupting the entire class" and he was embarrassed that all the kids stared at him. He wasn't being defiant but she keeps treating him as if he is. My son said he was really surprised at how mean Ms. Billy was treating him - he genuinely didn't know he was doing anything wrong, She did sound agitated when she was complaining to me about my son. I know my son - he's not a bad kid and he's super kind. I'm not just saying that because he's my son. He truly is. I'm the type of person that takes criticism well and I'm happy to help correct behavior when necessary. In this case, I really feel that Ms. Billy is not spending enough time with struggling students - in my sons case not understanding instructions according to her. I didn't appreciate her putting my son down in front of both my husband and I. Ms. Billy made it sound as if my son was being defiant - I can assure you my son is not defiant - he genuinely is just having a hard time with the project! He's asking for help from his teacher in his own 8 year old way. He just turned 8 by the way. Mrs. Elizabeth in the front is amazing on the other hand! Very helpful and kind lady.

The teachers here are incredible and create such a warm environment and sense of safety where children create and learn to their full capacities. I appreciate Ruby Hannan, Anayantzin Sanchez, and Billie Frolov who have all guided our kids in various classes & camps including Claymation, Make Your Own Stuffie, Mini Makers, and Youth Lessons. We've also been to some cool events here for children, our favorite being when they invited the animators from the new Ninja Turtles movie/Mitchell's Vs. the Machines to come talk to the students and show them people can become animators when they grow up! Truly an inspiring place where children come to explore and create their own art. So thankful to have found this studio! *also editing my review to add that I specialize in a field of child development & communication; I respectfully disagree with the parents below who claim this place is merely a bunch of babysitters or that their children didn't learn anything during their time here. I've been so impressed the way the educators here scaffold the summer camp in a way that the older kids are making Claymation videos or sewing stuffies alongside the younger ones. No one is so frustrated that they can't participate and at the same time these kids are challenged!! My children had increases in their artistic abilities, social skills, vocabulary, fine motor skills, ability to use technology to create art, and I would go so far as to say even their overall self esteem, as the final art show is truly a special time for families to come together and celebrate what these children have created with the guidance of some awesome instructors. Sorry, but I could go on! The only time I've ever seen the tv on at Art/Work/Place was during the gorgeous, hilarious, magical Claymation Camp viewing party a year ago and the time the Ninja Turtles animators used it to show us some clips from a movie they made. Again, context matters.... Let your kids give them a try and decide for yourself :)

And every time he's gone it's been a 9 or a 10, depending on the friends he meets. The camp has friendly staff and fun activities. Thank you to everyone who works there. He finished summer camp and I put him in Winter Camp for 1 day this year (Friday, 29th). When I picked him up that day I realized it was the last day of winter camp. Unfortunately, the dates I need for my son to be in camp are the first week of Jan. rather than the week of Christmas, since he's off both weeks. I think their schedule is different than my sons school, which is understandable. Either way, it's a great camp and he will be returning in the summer.

It's a great place for kids who prefer things like video production, animation, and gaming instead of the usual athletic camp activities. It was also super easy to sign up online, it was affordable, and I felt very safe leaving my kid in their care. My ONLY complaint is that they haven't aligned their winter camp dates with the local elementary school vacation schedules. I realize it's likely an issue of location (the camp is held at a school on a different academic calendar), but this is such a great program, it would be life changing to have it available for us working parents of creative/indoor kids throughout the first week of January, too. If you see my previous reviews, you can follow the drama unfold about how my daughter was neglected by 2 schools and how they did not care about the danger a student abusing kids and staff brought and turned a blind eye. When I came to Happy Day's doorstep, I was desperate to put my daughter somewhere for the remainder of the year + summer. I expressed my concerns. I spoke with Hunter and Mrs Pam, and they both listened and had sympathy for both me and my daughter. They allowed her to play and come back to play every day until I made up my mind, but I was already sold. They allowed me to bring her multiple times before her start date so she can transition well, and I was so thankful about that. Mrs Pam and Hunter speak to you with so much passion. You almost forget that this is a paid service. Mrs Pam pours her heart and soul into this place, and it really shows. My daughter has been here for 5 months now and has flourished soo much!!! Honestly, she loves this place. When she went to Angel's, she hated it. She didnt want to go to school and fought it whenever she could. My daughter used to love going to school to play with her friends and to learn. She used to love coming home and telling us all she learned, it hurt when she lost her love for school. To see the love for school return when she started at Happy Day honestly made me feel like a bad parent because I wasted my time and money at a school soo cold and distant just to end up pulling her out. She got sent home from Happy Day once for a fever or something. She took a nap and when she woke up she put her clothes on and said "I'm ready to go back to school" problem was, it was 6pm and school was over. She threw a fit. The staff at Happy Day is so warm and loving, they show affection towards the children and are welcoming towards parents. My daughter has learned more and is more proud of her accomplishments now at Happy Day than she has ever been. I honestly feel as though Happy Day has prepared her for her transition to school and for life. The balance between play and learning is perfect in my opinion, and to see her happy to learn and proud of what she's learning makes me so happy. When the swimming lessons opened up, you bet your butt I enrolled my little girl. From not knowing how to swim, Mrs Pam and her team transformed my little girl into a little mermaid!!!! She constantly talks about what she's doing in the pool and how she wants to go swimming all the time. Not only that, they are on top of sicknesses and with the exception of ONE time in the matter of 5-6 months, she has not brought a sickness home from school. Absolutely amazing as she brought home a nasty virus 2x in a month at her previous school. I know that they sold the property and are looking for a new location, but do not let that detour you like it did for me. I simply can not put into words how much we love Happy Day. We have gone through 3 schools and I can whole heartily say we have finally found a school that exceeds our requirements and are madly in love with. Do I recommend this school? Yes. With our whole heart and soul, YES. Happy Day is the best value around. Happy Day isn't a school.. it's a family. We are so thankful for this institution and hope you join the family too.
