Ohmygawd, where to begin... Your kid's birthday is a huge deal, especially when they're little. The stress of getting EVERYTHING right - and EVERYONE to show up! - can be overwhelming. After all, your child's entire future happiness is at stake, right?! Deep breath. Here's our step by step experience with "Happy" Days Entertainment: 1) This year for our little girl's 5th birthday we decided to do something different and rent a location for two hours. The place was awesome, an indoor playground with tons of cool stuff to do. Not so cool, we had to use their outside vendor to hire a princess character. 2) In the past we had two amazing experiences with another vendor (not sure I can name them here so I will post a positive review on them later - check my reviews to find out who they are). Needless to say, we were bummed (and NERVOUS) to use a new vendor. 3) Having said that, our little one wanted to invite Moana and while our preferred vendor didn't have a Moana performer available Happy Days did! Not only that, the picture of the Moana on their website looked awesome AND when my wife called Happy Days the owner (!) GUARANTEED that it would be the same performer as the one on the website! Not. Quite. 4) The lady who showed up - bless her heart - looked quite a bit older than the one in the picture and while the online Moana had natural black curly hair, the one who showed up was wearing a horrible wig that looked so fake even the kids called her on it. To make matters worse, she wasn't playful and engaging at all. Very reserved and low energy! In the movie Moana is adventurous and full of zest! For the money we paid I expect someone who doesn't just look like the character (which she didn't) but who's IN character as well. It's LA for crying out loud! Oh, and she didn't sing any of the Moana songs (we were told she would). And when I asked her at the end if she could do individual pictures with each kid (about 10 girlies) she blankly pointed out IN FRONT OF the birthday girl that she was already 5 minutes over time. She also said most kids usually don't want a picture (ooooh-kay). Still, I ALMOST felt bad for her, she literally seemed awkward and uncomfortable around the kids. Like someone had stuck her in a Hawaiian skirt and a cheap wig and said go show up at this place for an hour and make balloon animals. 5) But more than the performer, my wife and I felt terrible for our little girl. She LOVES Moana and was SUPER excited to see her. When I told her that her special guest had arrived she yelped and darted into the lobby... where she literally stopped short, stunned to meet this person who was clearly NOT the real Moana awkwardly and timidly greeting her to the sound of parent hearts breaking. 6) Final thoughts... We have called Happy Days several times but our calls have been ignored. It's been 3 weeks. So instead of trying to somehow rectify the situation, I'm writing this review. By the way, even the two young ladies who worked the place (and who were incredibly sweet and helpful) said they were shocked when they saw the performer walk in. And in case someone from Happy Days is reading this review... We weren't going to ask for our money back. We were going to suggest that you send the Moana performer you had promised us to show up for a complimentary hour and play with our girl in the park, saying she's so sorry she couldn't make the party but Maui had stolen her boat or Heihei was sick (Heihei is the rooster, look it up). I wish I had kinder things to say about the performer. I think she tried but just wasn't right for the part. I do blame Happy Days for A) breaking their promise to send the Moana they feature on their website (#falseadvertising), and B) for badly mis-casting the character, and C) not getting back to us after the event to discuss what had happened. I decided to book them for the Elmo Character for my son's 2nd Bday party. During the week, I received an email confirming everythigng..(they did charge me $10 more than what we had discussed on the phone, but at soon as i mentioned it to them, they quickly removed it with no issues :) Their person who was planned to come to my home, called me the night before and also in the morning to discuss everything. I asked if the magician would greed the crowd in Spanish and Japanese, they agreed to do it in Spanish and that they would try to do it in Japanese. I paid $359 for what I thought was a sick looking storm trooper, according to their website, only to discover the day off it was a one sided cheap Halloween costume I would receive for 3hrs. Definitely did not look like a legit storm trooper and I would have been better off buying a cardboard cut out for photos since the costume had no back to it!!!! We hired SpongeBob for my stepdaughters 6th birthday party and added on glitter tattoos. The guy who came said that he was filling in for a friend and had never done the tattoos before and opened up this box filled with regular tattoos (ok by me because I didn't know how the boys would react to glitter tattoos). However, there were no SpongeBob ones! So I quickly went through our goodie bags and pulled some out for the guy to use. He really didn't know how to put the tattoos on, too much water on the sponge and not applying pressure so none of the tattoos were sticking. The kids didn't care, they were having fun anyways. He did eventually figure it out and then any kid who wanted a tattoo got one. He then helped us with the piñata and was fantastic with it!! The kids loved it and it was great to stand back and watch while someone else did the piñata wonderfully! Now it was time to dress as SpongeBob. He went and changed, but he couldn't do the voice so we had to tell the kids that SpongeBob had a sore throat. It didn't take long before one of the older kids realized it was the tattoo guy and the kids went crazy chasing him down. We took some group photos and then did the cake. He was great with his hand motions even without actually singing Happy Birthday. I told him he could change right after that since it was so hot. He came back and spent the rest of the time jumping with the kids. Overall, we had a fantastic party! I booked these guys for my son's 1st birthday this past weekend. Paw patrol theme. I specifically stated that I wanted a CLEAN WHITE DOG (Marshall costume) and they promised me that! I booked 2 dogs! Well one showed up 1/2 an hour late. I also offered them food and drinks thinking that they would have the courtesy to make up the time after since one he was late and two I provided them food and drinks! Well they left right at the 2 hour mark not even acknowledging that one was late! And to top it all off! The representative I spoke with was very nice she took my deposit and everything was fine until today the day before the party I received a call from a man and he told me I need to hold four parking spaces for their truck I told him that was impossible for me to do and I said I wish the representative would have told me that when she took my deposit because I would have contacted a different company he then told me fine do that Im canceling your order and hung up in my face who does that. Also known as kids party LA, they were wonderful!! I was so scared of everything after reading the reviews. We ordered 2 ninja turtles to come to my sons 5th bday party and they were a hit!! For the first 45 min the two gentlemen did face painting and balloons. They came dressed as a referee and a birthday hat guy. They were super friendly and the kids loved it, although I will admit they were a bit slow per child. No one really complained though. But when they left and came back as the turtles, oh man the kids went crazy. It was 90 degrees outside and these turtles were doing ninja moves, posing for pictures and playing hide and seek with the kids. They made the party fantastic and made my son so happy. A couple years ago we hired a pirate Jack Sparrow from another company that does pirates only for a birthday party and were blown away with everything from the costume to the way he interacted with the kids. This year my son wanted Superman so I found Happy Days Entertainment online. I liked that they are listed in LB because I'd rather support local companies. I received an email back promptly with the requested information and when I called to book the lady on the phone was extremely nice. She gave me a list of things to expect and I said I'd rather skip the balloons because popped balloons all over the backyard makes for cranky kids and a mess, and I would prefer the face painting and some games. When Superman showed up, his costume looked like a random guy going to a Halloween party. He was too tall for the costume, but the part that made me kind of wrinkle my nose was that he didn't have a cape! Superman with no cape! Whatever I'm really not a picky person so no big deal. He was really nice and all, but he kind of walked in and I felt like he didn't exactly know what to do. He wasn't "in character" he didn't immediately grab the kids attention, nothing like that. After meeting with the birthday boy, he brought out his balloons and started making balloons for the kids. Eeeks, not what I wanted, but whatever, the kids were happy. That took a very long time because the balloons were popping on the grass so those kids would come back for more, but again, whatever. He then did a couple little magic tricks which made the kids laugh, and then started the face painting. He did a great job, but it took forever! A lot of the boys were getting full masks on their face which took up so much time. I really felt like he should have managed time better by doing smaller paintings or something. It was just such a slow process that by the time he was done his time limit was over. (and it's not that I had too many kids there because less than 10 of the kids there stood in line for the face painting) My son enjoyed him and was happy and all of that, but he was also disappointed because he did not play any games (I had told him they were going to play games and when Spiderman first got there he told him they were going to play games). I wouldn't say we had a "bad" experience, but it was definitely just okay. And next time I need a character, I'll try another company. read more

BUYER BEWARE OF PRINCESSES!!! THEY USE FAKE PHOTOS!!! YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR (CHEAP!) NOT WHAT YOU SEE! I was actually inspired to create my yelp profile and review this company because I feel so strongly about warning people about their Princess Entertainment, as this is the only side of their business I have had any experience with. We wanted Rapunzel for my nieces third birthday, as this is her favorite character. We chose Happy days because not only were they very in expensive, the pictures they had on their page of the princess characters were BEAUTIFUL! She also told us over the phone that the Rapunzel she was sending us worked at Disneyland. We were so excited and felt like we had found an awesome deal. fast forward to the day of the party- To START with the character is 45 minutes late, and we have to call them to see where she is. OK, that's forgivable- things happen. Then, the girl calls us because she is parked around the corner at the park, and she sounds like she is crying. What? we go to her car and the entire back of her dress is ripped open, the zipper had busted as she tried to change from snow white to Rapunzel on the street. We were immediately shocked because one, I'll tell you right now.. if this girl worked at Disneyland it was NOT as a face character, two, the costume was made of cheap polyester (i think, very cheap satin at best)... nothing like what was pictured on their website! and it was horrible quality, and BROKEN before the party even began. We spent another 15 minutes trying to safety pin her into the dress to no avail, it just looked...... for lack of a better word, Trashy! Finally we opt to let her just wear her jacket (which did not match, nor did it look like it went with the costume at all...but what option did we have!?). We are now an hour late, and half the children have left. Lets just add that the girl was in a panic and crying, had clearly gotten dressed in her car, wig and all.. and just looked like a hot mess. The wig was like something you would find out of a bag in a costume store, literally, her hair was not only popping out of the bottom, but it was SO thin that you could see right through the top of it to her brown hair.UGH! well the girl, despite the circumstances was very sweet and I did feel bad for her.. this felt more like her employers fault for sending her in this sort of quality than it did hers. ..so of course I call the owner back. I explain to her the entire scenario- that she sent us something she was NOT advertising, and that the costume didn't even fit this girl .. so much so that it literally came undone at the seems! It's extremely low quality was also a major contributing factor, I noted. She offers no sincere apology and immediately argues with me! what!? She tells me that her dresses are hand made to fit each performer and that they are great quality, and that the dress is NOT too small for this girl. All I could say was, I just tried for 15-20 minutes to get her in it, in a parking lot, at a park.. to no avail- I'm seeing it with my own eyes, and she is still insisting other wise!... let alone the fact that she was INCREDIBLY late! This lady was SO defensive... as if I was just fully making this up and my eyes could not visibly see that this was neither the performer, wig, OR dress that was pictured on her website. It was a cheap, terribly made, ill fitting version of it that hardly even resembled Rapunzel. all I can say is BUYER BEWARE... WHAT YOU GET IS NOT ANYYYYTHING EVEN CLOSE TO RESEMBLING WHAT YOU SEE, Even IF the Princess shows up on time in an undamaged, wearable costume, It will NOT be anything like the Disney stolen photos you see on her website!!! I Came to find out later that the photos on her site are actually pictures of Disney Park princesses. We had a bad experience with Happy days entertainment. To start with the guy called on the day of the party and was confirming for the next day. When we told him it was TODAY, he said he was somewhere in Glendale and asked if he should still come (party was in culver city). When said yes, he turned up and guess what WITHOUT HIS MONKEY CHARACTER MASK. We were completely dissapointed and when we sent our feedback to the company, they said they will refund $45 as they forgot the mask, which they never did. The performer hardly entertained the kids. Was a bit skeptical about hiring children's entertainment because there are so many horror stories floating around about terrible performers, BUT this company well-exceeded my expectations. I had a party for my twin boys' 6th birthday, one of which is along the autism spectrum, and we were sent out a wonderfully pleasant, and accommodating artist named Heather. She was calm, friendly and inviting to all of the children who attended the party. She was able to work independently while I ran around hosting and meeting the needs of my guests. She even made a few last minute balloons for a couple of late arrivers which I reallly appreciated. She could've looked at the time and jetted out of the door, but instead she asked if there was anything else I needed, and that simple gesture really made an impression. I'd recommend this company to anyone looking for children's entertainment. They provide quality service and reasonable prices to fit just about any budget! If I could give them zero stars I would have ! I ordered a clown and Minnie mouse for my daughters birthday the clown was suppose to play games and stuff with kids she was quite unorganized none of the kids were laughing or playing with her. She was paid for 90 min, 60 min of balloon animals and games she maybe played one game, if that, and spent the rest of her time making a balloons that were mediocre and then came out as Minnie for 20 min instead of the full 30 min. Which meant some kids didn't get their pictures with Minnie which wasn't fair. So after my husband called to despite part of charges because we paid $400 and didn't get what we were promised (we were only asking for a 50$ discount out of the 400$) ...they were very rude about giving us a discount and when my husband and I left previous yelp reviews that they didn't like obviously they called us and actually threatened us over the phone stating they know where we live from our billing address and where we work!!!! We were so freaked out and couldn't believe it we had to actually file a POLICE REPORT against them and was told by the police that we weren't the first !!!! On top of that they have already been reported to the Better Business Bureau by multiple people and somehow had our previous yelp reviews removed. I honestly have mixed feelings about Liz who we hired for my daughter's birthday party yesterday. She arrived 10 minutes or so late yet left at the scheduled time which means we lost out on some time. When she arrived my daughter took her on a meet and greet with all the guests. I was anxious for her to begin the face painting since she was already late but since it was my daughter who grabbed her and took her around, I let it go. She then proceeded to do the face painting. I honestly felt they were very simple and unimpressive. I've hired a face painter in the past who charged less and was amazingly talented. I went with this company because the website ( and person you talk to) said they would be doing face painting, games and magic tricks. We didn't have that many kids. Maybe 10-15 tops but the face painting as simple as it was took longer than I had hoped. Then she proceeded to do some simple games like follow the leader and dance games. No magic tricks. No structured games. It kept the kids entertained for a bit but not long. She then proceeded to spend the rest of the time doing parachute games which didn't do much to entertain the older kids as they bored of it quickly. I had specified the ages would be between 4-8 and wanted to be sure the games would entertain them all. Honestly the parachute games seemed dull and I was not impressed. I would have much rather preferred the magic tricks and party type games. Liz was very sweet and very nice and my daughter loved her. I just was not impressed at what I got for my money. I paid for two hours so thats over $200 for mediocre face painting, a little dancing with the kids and a bunch of parachute games. I might as well have hired the facepainter I used before and had the kids just play in the jumper and had a family member play games with the kids. It would've worked out better and for way less money. I definitely won't be using this company again in the future. Liz was a sweet lady and she was great to my daughter but I did not receive what I paid for or what was offered in the package for the price. I was less than pleased at how much I paid and how little of what was offered I received. It felt like it was her first party and she went in there with no game plan. Wish I could get my money back. Or at the very least half of it back. I would've maybe paid $100 but $200 feels like I threw my money away. Quite disappointed to say the least. We hired a Pirate who was supposed to resemble Jack Sparrow. I know that due to trademarks and copyrights that the performer has to be referred to as a pirate, rather than the actual character. This spectacle that they sent out no more looked like Jack Sparrow than the man on the moon. He had a cheap costume on that wouldn't even stay on his head, no makeup, 40-45 minutes late. He walked in the door with less enthusiasm than a sloth. I actually had to tell him to go do something. The kids were bored, unconvinced, and very disappointed. What really pisses me off is the company conveniently removed the picture of the pirate that they represent on their website once I left a message that I was unhappy I spoke to the man who booked the event, not only was he rude and unprofessional he hung up on me. The "pirate" (who the company referred to in confirmation calls numerous times as Jack Sparrow) never once acted like a pirate, never commanded the children or made a presence. We have used another company in the past (alwaysjustforfun) who has amazing performers, I am so sorry that they were unavailable for my sons birthday party. This was the worst disaster of a character I have ever seen. If he would have come in and entertained the kids and even acted like a pirate despite the appearance and the late arrival we wouldn't be here. He said "arg" once when he came in....that was it. The company told me that these people are professionals, actors and entertainers. When I spoke to the representative on the phone he said that was considered "acting like a pirate".The man on the phone told me that he said in previous conversations that he would send out a "pirate" and not "Jack sparrow" Well, I did not ask for a PIRATE I ASKED FOR JACK SPARROW and they said before booking this disaster that they could send me JACK SPARROW or something that looked like and acted like JACK SPARROW!!!!! My three year old son looked more like a pirate than this guy. The adults all thought that he was impaired in some way and I was completely embarrassed by his "performance" or lack there of. The worst part was the treatment by the so called party planners or event coordinators. I was able to explain my side to the woman, however the man would not let me get a word in edgewise. When I was finally able to speak, and told him that I would let everyone I know what the quality of their business is like he proceeded to tell me " you know what we wouldn't want any of your business anyways" and hung up on me. What a joke this entire company is...I had used them based on the yelp reviews but I have a feeling that the above people just got lucky and happened to get someone who actually knew what they were doing as this guy clearly DID NOT. The owner agreed to a more fair refund. I am pleased that there was an agreement, yet still disappointed with the unprofessional behavior I received when I spoke to the owner. He could have handled things differently since he ultimately agreed to a refund anyway. I had a great experience with Happy Days Entertainment. They provided a Buzz Lightyear character for my son's 3rd birthday party and he was excellent! He came dressed up as a clown for the first half of the show, played games with the kids, and was making them laugh...they had a great time. Then he went to change into his Buzz Lightyear costume. It was like having two entertainers for the price of one! The performer was a few minutes early so that he did not cut into the entertainment hour when changing costumes. Overall, I was very pleased with everything and my son was soooo happy! I will definitely be using Happy Days Entertainment again! read more

Jen came to my daughter's first birthday party, she was a GREAT candy cane girl!!! All the kids had a great time with her. She engaged all the toddlers and kept them entertained. I have used this company many times, and they are the nicest people to work with! They always execute my ideas perfectly and my kids have the most amazing and memorable birthday parties! This past birthday my daughter wanted a luau themed party. The girls that hosted the party Megan, Vanessa, and Jenn were AMAZING! not only did they dress the part of luau dancers, but their energy was great, they were so sweet, smiles all the time, great interactive with the kids. OMG stay away they have the worst service.... I booked my party with them 2 weeks before my daughters birthday party and I called them to confirm a week before the party they said that they did not book the party because they said I wasnt sure if I wanted the train.... Haaa what you mean I wasnt sure I gave them a credit card for the deposit .... So what they do is get another booking with a hire price and they just cancel your order and go with another order that paid them more even though I agreed to pay them what they gave me ... 300.00 for an hour and half.... Please people becareful because you dont want your party to be a disaster by last minute change on your booking..... This was the worst unfrofessional company I've worked with ever which I would never call them again or recommend people to this company. read more

Worker's Beware. I worked for Richard and he had them take out more than $350 from my 1 week event paycheck due to his work truck being impounded, which wasn't even my fault as I wasn't the worker who parked the truck where it was impounded from. One work truck(Expedition) connection to trailer lights haven't worked& he has yet to fix them, although it can lead to someone rear-ending you. read more
