I called and made an appointment for 11AM. My first time here ever. I was greeted briefly and was told to pick a color. I sat there for approximately 20 mins in silence. No one updated me on the estimated wait time. I got annoyed and called my husband to tell him the situation, he was not happy and told me to go to a different salon. I got up about to leave and the owner, Ms. Luu then said "You can't wait? We're preparing the water for your Pedicure right now". I decided to sit right back down and they got to me within minutes. My Callus was bad and Tracey did a great job, making me feel amazing. My feet were glisten. After the Pedi I had my nails done by Hannah! She's a great nail technician. My nails came out so perfect in shape and size. At other salons, they make my nails not straight and blamed it on "my finger go like that". But with Hannah, there's no finger excuses, it was perfect. So moral of this experience is to be patience. I glad I stayed. As I found a new Nail salon that I like. Tip: Bring cash next time as they charge you a transactional fee. It was around $146 + credits card usage fee + $20 tips. It came out to $171 all paid for by the hubby. Tip for the salon team; Communication is key. Please greet your customers and provide them with updated wait status. This would have been a 5 star if it weren't for the lack of common and follow through. read more

I came to this nail salon for my birthday a month ago. I got a manicure done and they sold me this "nail strengthening" top coat for them to put on during my manicure. I accepted the $10 stuff due to my nails being pretty fragile. The price for a manicure was insane. My best friend got a full set, priced at $75 for short French tips. Now a month later I am attempting to take off this manicure polish as it's pretty chipped and my nails are breaking due to the length. I was able to take the thick polish off one finger and I am left with chemical burns to my nail. I am horrified to see the other nails now. And nail polish remover is not working to take the gel off. Not sure what caused the burns to my nails but I am pretty unhappy. read more

I went to their new location in Norwood Ave for the first time and it was very nice/remodeled inside. The person who did my nails, Ann, was very careful and precise with her technique. I have long nails that often break, but she knew how to protect and grow out my natural nails with builder gel so that the nails would have more structure and be stronger with NO acrylic. Great service and nails came out beautifully designed. I got my nails done before going off to college and after 7 weeks, it lasted through the growth and still didn't break off! I took my daughters to get their nails done here. I've been here three times just to do simple gel and don't usually have a problem. I get the stare before the greet. Typically greet comes when you walk out and leave cause I'm not sure why everyone stares at you before asking what service you'd like done today. But anywho, they all need training on customer service. I took my daughters here since they wanted to get their nails done. Since it's close by and we have never done longer nails here we gave it a try. My daughter showed them a picture of what she wanted. After getting it done and tipping them. I looked and noticed how ugly they were. I walked back into the spa cause I was in the car waiting. We get back and again greeted with a stare. They finally come up asking what we needed. I told them we were not satisfied with the nails and would like it redone. The lady who did them came back and asked what the problem was. Clearly you can see that it looks completely different from the picture. I told her we would like a redo because it doesn't look like the picture and it's not pretty. The lady then cuts me off and says the reason why she did what she did was because adding pink would be an extra $5 and was just looking out for my daughter. I told her price wasn't the problem and we would like it be pink base not clear and would come back tomorrow. She agreed and stated we would not be charged and that Luu would be the one to do them. Next day rolls around it was like Luu knew exactly who we were. I walked up to the counter where I waited for someone to help. Luu has her station connected to the counter where she was with another customer. So instead of interrupting her I waited. Rudely waved her hand and told me to sit and wait. So we did respectfully. Once she was done she waved her hand in a rude gesture and stared at me. I didn't see because I was on my phone. My daughter nudged me and as I looked up. I told my daughter to go ahead and go to her. We both get up and Luu completely ignores my presence and without saying anything she gets right to work on my daughter's nails. Starts speaking in viet and mumbles a ton of things to her workers. I go back to sit because now it's uncomfortable! I go ahead and let her finish my daughter's nail. As she was finishing she then tells my daughter the reason why they did what they did was because her nail beds were small. Excuse after excuse! Just own up to your mistake! We weren't even making it a big deal! We paid for the work and even tipped! Mind you the first day they had two people work on my daughter's nails! Even the second person made a face after seeing the first personas nail work! Never coming here again! read more

Because even if you don't know English you should know the proper way to do nails and to use clean tools on a client. Very average place. Probably won't return. Got the $35 spa pedi, which was just "meh." The guy did an incomplete job exfoliating, so my heels and toes are still semi- rough. The "foot and leg massage" was weak. The hot wax felt nice but they didn't bother to do a second exfoliation after, which is sort of the point of softening up the skin, right? I came in an hour before closing to get a fresh, new acrylic set and they were able to accommodate me immediately. They even stayed an hour past closing to make sure my nails were perfect. I wanted a simple glitter ombre fade and they did just that! Total for that was $50. Good attention to cuticle work, nails weren't too thick or chunky and curve of the nails were great so that the results were very natural-looking. Definitely a hidden gem in Rio Linda, I'd come visit them again in the future. read more

I used to be a "regular" at Luu's a couple of years ago. Back then, prices were good, service was good. I like to have my nails done in the morning after the gym, so it typically worked out that I could arrive there around the time they opened and get my gel mani pedi. Happy happy back then! I actually stopped going there because they became undependable on what time they would be open, also randomly closed on some days (this was PRE covid). I went probably 3 times at "opening" and waited for anywhere from 15 to 30 minutes and no one showed up. So I stoppped going and took my business elsewhere. I went back today because it just happened to work better with today's schedule. They have remodeled, which is nice. It was Luu and 2 other gals who I don't remember being there before. I just wanted a pedicure today. I got a pretty brusque greeting from Luu "CHOOSE COLOR"... I said I wanted Gel, she said, rudely "I KNOW! CHOOSE COLOR" Hmmmmm, maybe I should have just left then. They have new pricing chart (menu) on the wall. She knew I wanted gel, I asked for the $32 pedi...she talked me into the $38 pedi. Ok, whatever! The new gal was nice...she used a drill/dremel to take off my old gel....I would really prefer that it be soaked off, but she spoke barely any English, so I just let her use the drill. She cut my nails SHORT even though I told her to "file only"....she used the cuticle clipper WAY too much, pinched/cut me a couple of times....instead of gently pushing the cuticles back, which I prefer. THEN...she proceeded to use the wrong polish...she used regular instead of gel so had to start over on one foot. The application was sloppy...and she even filed more after the gel was done. Still sloppy. Finally finished....I went to pay the $38...but it was actually $50. $12 extra for gel. I'm sorry, but this was NOT a $50 pedicure. I just had a pedicure 2 weeks ago in a nicer salon for $10 less , so it's not like there was a lot of work to do. I am sorry to say, I won't be back. I will add ...I do think that Luu is good, the times that she has done my nails in the past were good...I think they have some things to work through with the new employees. read more

Decided to give Luu's a try since I'm new in town and I like to support local businesses!! If they don't want to make an app 40 minutes before closing say no and schedule it for the following day. Got the $33 dollar pedi & Gel for $12?! I thought for that price the experience would be okay. My pedi was not relaxing at all. LUU did my pedi she was so ruff since the beginning, pushed my skin back with so much force not gentle at all. She cut the "dead skin" around my toes & I NEVER had it hurt like that before, I was so afraid she would cut me with the cuticle clipper. Massage? Nope she literally "massaged" the lotion and that was it, top 3 min. She was in such a hurry to get me out of there. She din't even wrap my legs in the hot towel just wiped them down. My toes still sting and are sore from her cutting the "dead skin off" as she called it. Pedi total time less than 30 all together. In Fair Oaks I pay $30 for the exclusive Pedi comes with scrub, lotion of your choice, wax, hot stones, wrapped towel, 20 min massage & they offer water!! Gel $10. I wish I would of read the reviews before deciding to come here. I will NEVER CHEAT ON MY NAIL SALON AGAIN! read more
