This was my first time at this location. I was given a gift certificate and recommended by a friend. It was not a good experience at all. Usually when I get massages I do the nude full body massages. I thought it would be a new experience to do the foot massage/ clothed body massage. For me, it was horrible. My Masseuse was a male and had extremely rough hands and long finger nails. His nails kept pinching and scratching me. They do reach under your shirt at times to massage your shoulders, which is fine, but he was very aggressive with my shirt and I could hear seems popping. He was also coughing and burping right over my head while massaging my head. I know these are normal bodily functions, it just put a damper on the experience. I'm not a huge fan of the one large shared room either. Part of the relaxation of a massage for me is the quiet room with soothing music. The music was there, but you could hear all the other people walking in and out and talking to each other. Also, they had some sort of intercom that the women at the front desk was using and that was going off frequently while I was getting my massage. After my not so pleasant massage, I went to pay and they wouldn't accept my gift card. They told me it was for another location and it wasn't accepted here. That in partially my fault too for not checking before I got my massage, but I did tell the lady at the desk I had a gift card and she never asked to see it. All in all, not a great experience. I would not recommend this location. There's a lack of communication between the receptionist and the massage therapist on what service is supposed to be rendered. I had to stop my massage therapist 30 minutes into my 90 minute massage because it was a Swedish relaxation massage. I told him to go harder, and he did not. And he still has no idea why. very disappointed I just don't want anybody else to have a bad experience. I honestly do not think the massage Therapist knows what he is doing. read more

I have been coming here for years (live in Folsom now) and always had excellent massages. I had bought a package before Happy Day had to close during the pandemic. I appreciate that they were able to reopen after closing for so long and that they honored my booklet. The foot massage is so reasonable, and they still work your whole body. I love the head massage. So, I haven't been in Folsom in a couple of years, but I used to go here every once in awhile. It used to be an ok place. Not the best massage, but good for its price. Was in Folsom for Holidays so I went here again and it really went downhill in the last couple of years. Firstly, the massage itself was much worse, however this would not have led to such a bad review. After all, maybe the person is new. However, after the massage, the massager went off somewhere. I couldn't find her in the room to give her the tip, so I thought that I might as well give it to the front desk or ask the front desk for who it is. As I was about to leave the room, some other employee stopped me and refused to let me leave without the tip. Note: this guy was not the same person. I didn't want any trouble so I left the tip with him and the last thing I saw was him counting the tip. The poor massage was forgivable, but stopping me from leaving until I gave the tip? Maybe this was a one time thing, but I am not willing to risk a repeat.The service here is horrible and I will never return. If you need a massage, there has to be a better place in Folsom than here. read more

I'm a fan of every Happy Day Spa location, but this one is close to home. We've never had problems getting an appointment here. We normally call a few hours ahead of time and are accommodated without issues. My boyfriend and I have been to about 4 other Happy Day Spa locations, and each one is the same. For reflexology newcomers, ask for the Foot Massage. The idea is to target areas in your feet that affect the overall energy balance in your body to promote relaxation. Price is $20 for 1 hour, I believe. Ambiance is nice with dim lighting and soothing instrumental music. Everyone is in a large room with reclining leather seats and towels. Massages will begin with your head, arms, feet, then you will lay on your back at the end. Of course, for the Foot Massage, even if your whole body is worked on, your clothing stays put. My friend and I went for foot massages and were so impressed with how honesty of the gal who massaged her. My friend dropped all of her money on the floor just before the massage started and Mary (her masseuse) picked it up and handed it to her. I'm not saying I except someone to be dishonest, but I am saying that I've worked with people who can't resist taking advantage of a crime of opportunity like that, when they would not deliberately take someone's money. On our visit to Sac, my girlfriend gifted my boyfriend and I both a 1 hour each foot massage session here. Normally it's about $29 dollars for one of these massage sessions. I could be wrong so check before you go. So the foot massage (flex ology) includes a short all over the body massage as well. More like an acu-pressure massage than a deep tissue massage. They soak your feet in a warm pot of water to begin the session. Usually you are receiving your massage in a big room with multiple other people. It is quiet and the background music helps. These massages are so good I'm barley fit to drive afterward. There is a bit of a language barrier, but really the woman I go to (Linda) knows what she's doing and communication is not an issue. I usually go to the Citrus Heights & Greenback location which I highly recommend, I thought Happy Day Spa was owned by all the same owners but this was my first time at this location, they paired me with a guy who was very new, i tried being rational and patience but he didn't know English which was difficult but he really hurt me and now I have bruising on my body, extremely upset I payed $58 dollars for him to have too much pressure and then when I asked for lighter pressure he was too light almost non existent. My mother-in-law booked a foot massage for us here. I wish I had read the reviews first because then I wouldn't have been so surprised by the experience of being next to so many strangers emitting awkward noises - and being massaged all over when I was just expecting a foot and lower leg massage. I'm the type of person that likes to know what's going to happen; I don't care for surprises. The straw that broke the camel's back was that my masseuse was a smoker, so he smelled like smoke. Every now and then he'd breathe terribly offensive smoker's breath in my face and he kept hacking up his lungs. Blech. I use to go to the Happy Day Spa in Fair Oaks with my husband and we always got a good massage and probably had a massage by everyone there. They closed so we starting driving to Riley Street Happy Day Spa. We have given them two tries and the fist time it was about a 50 minute massage because my girl disappeared for about 10 minutes after she finished with my feet and then returned to tell me to roll over on my stomach for the back massage. The second time I went they spent maybe 5 minutes on my head 15 on both of my arms and 20 minutes rubbbing the front of my Legs which I would careless and 10 minutes on feet and 10 minutes on back. I did not need my chins rubbed for 20 minutes. Won't be back. Lol my husband only got one foot massage because I guess she forgot he had two feet.. please train the staff to be attentive of what they are doing. Great massage gets a great tip. OMG! Horrible customer service. Rude and demanding. My massage guy was sick and coughing on me. He had a mask but still. He didnt have gloves on. Did he wash his hands? The massage felt good and i enjoyed it till the end when the rude front desk person was demanding that i leave a higher tip than $10. These people are all from china. The concept of tipping doesn't exist there. So why do they demand tip here? Makes no sense. Also they were all speaking to each other the entire time during the massage. Guess who has happy feet after a visit to Happy Day Spa! And no, it's not the penguins. As a massage newbie, I was initially a little iffy about my first professional massage, but the one hour foot reflexology treatment was a great introduction. "Foot massage" was deceiving, however, because while they do massage your feet, your WHOLE BODY gets some much-needed kneading too! Good value for the price. After being led into a dim room with soothing music and several rows of massage chairs, your feet are placed in a hot tub of water to soak in and you are leaned back and covered with a towel. Your body is always pretty much covered and warm (as well as clothed) during the whole process, which contributes to the relaxing effect (thankfully no one nearby started snoring). My masseuse proceeded to massage my head, then cover my face with a towel and go about my arms, legs, and feet (be careful if you're ticklish!). I made the rookie mistakes of wearing makeup that got rubbed around during the head massage and wearing fitted pants that were hard for my masseuse to roll up on my legs. Don't be me! I was then turned onto my stomach and my whole body was pounded wonderfully EXCEPT one point on the back of my shoulder which was a little painful, but I was face down so the masseuse was blind to my Grumpy Cat grimace. I've had a massage here before by a woman, I don't know her name, but it was really relaxing. I would go back to her again. Today I went back and had a massage from Zhao. I will never go back to him again. It was horrible. His hands smelled like cigarettes and he was completely rushing through the massage. This was literally the most painful massage I've ever had in my life and I was on the verge of just getting up and walking out. I got a massage here 6 months ago for the first time on a recommendation from a friend..I had not had one in a very long time. I got Tom. I did one hour deep tissue massage. It's very good for the price. $17/hour for a foot/reflexology massage (when you buy their package, 20 tickets, try it first and then get a package of 10 or 20... it's worth it). I found I prefer the women for the massage over the men. The men seem to be a little more aggressive, and I prefer a little more gentle (this is just personal preference, so, if you really want someone to get in and get the knots out the men are good at that). How did I not hear of this place sooner! I've lived in Folsom for years, and only went for the first time yesterday! I went with my niece to a similar place in the bay area...and this was SO much better. I had done a 12 hour road trip the day before, and was really stiff and sore and just plain exhausted. Wow. David was GREAT! Deep tissue work was fabulous! Know ahead of time that the foot massage is really almost a full body massage.,,but with your clothes on (I wear a tank top and knee length leggings) It is in a dimly lit, large, and very quiet room, with several other clients also receiving massages. Soft music playing, and occasional slapping sounds of the therapist working on a person. If you have any concerns (like you want a lighter touch, or you don't want them to rub your head, or to be gentle with an arm or ???) you should whisper it to your masseur/masseuse before they start. If you are uncomfortable in that kind of setting you, can have private massages. They have private rooms, still at a reasonable rate. Either way, you cannot beat the price. Went to get a massage. I said hot stone and ended up getting what I was told a deep tissue. This man was beating me like a drum. He was doing some weird shit to me. He pulled my arms behind my back to the point I had to tell him to stop. He also sat on my back and pulled my legs backwards. When he did my arms My chest was full on in the air, nips and all. It was brutal. After he got done basically beating me, mind you I asked him to stop early because it was painful and when I asked to not be so rough he just smiled. I was so excited to finally have a massage, but this was not the experience I was hoping for. They took my tempature when I checked in and everyone was wearing , so I felt safe. My massage therapist brought me back and left the room and I herd someone sneeze in the backroom. Hmmm. Then my therapist came back out and prepped me to start his work. As he approached me, I could hear his labored breathing and snotty sniffles. He covered my eyes with a towel and we both wore masks, and he began rubbing my arm, he did wear gloves. I took my towel off my eyes and got up and told him that he sounds sick and I was leaving. I dried my feet off (soaking in water), and walked out. I told the receptionist what happened and she didn't really seem to understand what I was saying, so I just said he sounded sick and I didn't feel comfortable, so I was leaving. She didn't offer another message therapist or anything to help the situation. This place should not be allowing their employees to work if they have ANY symptoms! read more

I been getting my massages here for 2 year, and it was great! Now, I dont know if it's under new management. Little by little they replaced all the girls I use to asked for. The last 2 massages I had were not great, and yesterday I decided to tell them exactly what I needed due to the fact that I have severe back paid from a car accident. I explained that to the front desk girl who seem to be confuse by my instructions: please tell your girl DO NOT USE ELBOWS that is painful for me at times. Girl comes out she tells her my request, well at least I think she did, and... laaaaawd! That massage was so stressful!!! 80 % of the massage was FREAKING ELBOWS... and for the first 10 minutes she was massage with no lotion and I could feel my skin burning, I'm like ammmmm can u put some lotion? Then she did... I had the hot stone massage... maaaaaan she burn my legs, she put a hot ass towel on my lover back that I jump and took it off and she just laughed... I'm like bi*** I'll slap u with it! Overall, I need to find a new place since the prices keep going up and the service is going down. Sad, it use to be such a great place. In the end I tip the girl, (you can't really say much since they dont speak much English), went to the front desk and the girl there was to busy on her phone to engage, just paid $45, walk out, came home and put icy hot and had a shitty night sleep because of the pain I was now from that massage. I got the foot massage. It was in a dimly lit room, with others, in a whisper environment, soft music, slapping, the occasional deep breathing/snoring. Laid on the back with feet in hot water, blanket over me, towel over the eyes. They massaged with lotion, starting with the scalp, forehead, back of neck, arms, hands, fingers, bottom half of legs to the toes (my favorite part). Then they will have you turn around, then that's where they beat you (you can ask them to be gentle of course). Got up with matted hair. Overall enjoyed the experience. read more
