Greay daily specials on fast-ish diner food. Awesome tenderloin sandwich. Save room for dessert, as the soft-serve treats are massive and diverse.

A fast food diner with decent burgers, fries, fried pickles, shredded chicken sandwich (chicken pot pie on a bun!), soup, Mac n cheese. Friendly service and terrific 50s kitsch pop decor.

Pro Tip: I stole some of my wife's BBQ sauce from her tenders and spread some of my tenderloin, try it and thank me later!

As a Pescetarian in Northeast Ohio I have meaning to try Jolly Roger Seafood House for a while,…read morewell I finally got there and the big question is why I waited so long. Jolly Roger is located in Port Clinton right on Lake Erie; I was expecting something ordinary or just a bit dated and boy was I wrong. The building is very modern and clean from the outside, white and angular with big windows. Inside white walls, rough hewn wooden tables and just the right amount of decor makes for a modern seaside feel, casual but also classy. The setup is fast casual, you order and pay up front at the counter, get a number for your table and then get your own drink at the service station. The menu is understandably very heavy on fish and seafood with a couple of other items. While there are the expected fried fish meals, but also oysters, shrimp and salmon, salads and even some tacos. The reason I came was of course for the fried fish, I decided on the Perch and Chips, which is $18. I grabbed some water, hot sauce and lemon and settled onto a table. The meal was brought out fresh and hot by a food runner in a couple of minutes. The meal was 4 nice sized perch fillets on top of a generous portion of fresh waffle fried potatoes with a side of tarter sauce. The fish were excellent, fresh and perfectly fried with a nice crispy cornmeal crust around the delicately fish; moist with a slight sweetness and perfect texture. The waffle fries were exceptional, fried to a crisp outside and tasty inside; usually fries at a seafood place are an afterthought, here they actually are well worth getting and eating. Even the tarter sauce was very nice, nothing special but creamy with a nice pickle contrast to add a little extra flavor. Usually when I see a place that has been around this long and has great reviews I am a bit let down when I give them a try; Jolly Rogers Seafood House exceeded my expectations in almost every way. Although set up as a fast casual restaurant with a typical fried seafood menu, the actual restaurant feels more upscale and modern with a great inside and a very nice patio looking out onto Lake Erie. The food is not cutting edge, but it is expertly prepared and delicious. Prices are moderate with large portions for your money. Some of the best fried perch and waffle fries I have had. I will be back any time I am in the area, a very high recommendation as long as you are looking for fish or seafood, go and enjoy.

Really, really good food! The Perch was some of the best I've ever had. Mushrooms were great too…read more The only knock I have is the waffle fries were like warm. I LOVE waffle fries, but they have to be hot. It was also nice to see they had a selection of beers. Food came out fast. I would not hesitate to return.

It's been some time since we last came here and we decided to try it again. They have really kicked…read moreup their game! It's certainly worthy. Now given that, it's not your Taco Bell. Expect to pay more when the food is of this high quality and this well prepared! We started with the Caprese salad. Delicious! Burrata cheese, greens, prosciutto ham and a wonderful basaltic dressing. A+ on this! Then we both had the Maryland crab cakes. Lump crab cakes on asparagus. Just delicious, easily the best crab cakes I've had anywhere in Ohio, maybe the best I've ever had! A+ again! Service was fast and friendly! The setting is on the Great Miami River with a wonderful overlook! Everything was perfect! As Arnold said, 'I'll be back!'

Finally made time to pop in for dinner--unfortunately it wasn't on Lobster Roll or Cluster Crab…read morenight (guess we will just have to return at least two more times lol). The dinning room is nice, low light and low music playing. It seemed to get a little smokey in there but it wasn't bothersome. Our server was so lovely! And another lady that was floating around checking on tables was very sweet and fun! We really struggled with our ordering and "locking it in"...therefore we ended up ordering what felt like half the menu. For appetizers, we got calamari and the baked crab dip. The calamari was pretty light and delicious. The crab dip was heavy and but had a great flavor. I wasn't a huge fan of the chips but it was great with the bread that came to our table. The bread basket came out steaming and the butter was amazing we had to ask for extra. The butter is whipped and has green onions in it. Hubby and daughter each got clam chowder--it was different from what they are used to (and they are both clam chowder connoisseurs) but they still thought it was very good--just thinner and a lot more meaty ingredients. Daughter loved the halibut with risotto. Hubby really enjoyed the boathouse burger--bacon jam was new for him but he loved it. Though the burger was messy--he definitely cleaned the plate. My seafood platter was pretty good, I ate the scallops and coconut shrimp first. Then came our next dilemma...dessert!! So we each got one! Crème Brûlée, Highlander Grogg Chocolate Cake and Chocolate Chip Cookie Skillet. Everything was a hit!!
