Great location sitting on Hebgen Lake, we love sitting on the deck and over looking the lake and mountains. Food and service are fantastic!! Definitely the fried dill pickles to start, and the bison sliders were delicious!

What a PERFECT dinner, location, and night! Food, Drinks & Service were impeccable The view on Lake Hebgen at sunset was amazing. What a perfect way to cap a day in Yellowstone National Park.

The Grub here is ON POINT! And the staff here was INCREDIBLY FRIENDLY!! Staying at The LakeView Suites across the street while visiting Yellowstone National Park, we decided to hit this joint for some takeout, hoping for something yummy to eat after a long HOT day roaming The Park. COVID-19 precautions are in play here, hand sanitizer, social distancing/limited capacity inside and patio dining available, masks are properly worn by all staff and sign at entrance warns everyone entering to wear a mask. We didn't have to wait long for our food to arrive and while we waited, we were given a pitcher of water to enjoy without even being asked if we wanted some! Now that's customer service! These are the items we munched on... 1/2 Pound GARLIC BURGER: Comes on HOMEMADE FRENCH Bread! This thick burger has a nice flavor to it, not overcooked at all and not too greasy, either. Veggies are fresh. Ample amount of French fries come with meal. No complaints here! Better than expected! FETTUCCINI with White Clam Sauce: Served with shrimps that we're plump and cooked just right. The sauce had a tasty flavor to it, probably could of had a bit more coverage of the noodles, but I'm being nit picky. CHICKEN STRIPS: Comes with 2 big strips of chicken. Filling for young ones or light eaters. Crispy, yet tender inside. Ample serving of French fries with this meal, too. GRILLED CHEESE with Ham: The young ones devoured this! No complaints from them! Gone before I could even ask for a bite... Hah! Chips are not homemade but pretty good serving given. All in all, we enjoyed this meal MUCH MORE than we thought we thought we were going to! If staying at the LakeView Suites, definitely something to consider for a meal to satisfy the hunger cravings! Thanks!

Went to happy hour after a long day of fishing on the Madison. We ordered the pickle fries, fried Mac bites and I got a burger. All of it tasted good (standard bar food). Washed it all down with a patio pounder ipa. The staff were all great and the patio had a great view.

Friendly and welcoming service. Food options are all bar food but it works. Fun atmosphere. If warm enough, sit on the patio for a quiet and scenic time. Looking for fun? Stay inside and chat with the locals or observe the wild Polaroids.

Great operation in a beat up old stalwart of the lake. The food is fresh and well prepared. The service has never been better.

The vast majority of the trip was beyond outstanding due to the service of the Firehole staff; including our unbelievably "fishy" guide Adam, the manager Eric, the entire outdoor team (Jackson, Nick, Collin, etc), the Kitchen team and maid service. The food was eclectic, unique and truly special. The fishing on the Madison, inside Yellowstone, and other nearby areas was great. We waded and floated extensively. The other guests were friendly, fun and from across the country. Unfortunately however, our trip was unnecessarily affected by the owner of Firehole Ranch, Lyndy Caine. While she is a quite pleasant person on the surface, her inappropriate control issues relative to dinner service and conversation content were unpalatable and inappropriate for a supposed client focused luxury resort experience. The example which stands out was during the wonderful July 4th Barbecue celebration at the Ranch. Lyndy asked for a picture with myself and my wife for posting purposes which we happily accommodated. Shortly thereafter, in the middle of the party, she asked to speak with me privately about an issue. I readily agreed not sure about what was going on. She then said politely that I had discussed, 2 days prior at the cocktail hour, a medical subject with a guest which she felt inappropriate for Firehole Ranch conversation. I was quite surprised by this as I didn't realize there were "secret" topic restrictions at Firehole and the conversation only occurred after said guest's multiple requests for my opinion on the topic. She felt I should have not have given my opinion on the question, clearly disagreed with my position and preferred I not discuss the subject further... as if I had initiated or generated the entire event...which lasted less than 4-5 minutes in an amicable and pleasant manner. Lyndy made it clear she would define or censor what client conversations were allowed at her resort and opinions expressed. I directly and politely told her I disagreed with her opinion on the medical subject but would of course abide by her request and left it at that. This surprise and ambushed criticism, interrupting a pleasant social event, after first making sure she got the social media photos she desired, was deeply offensive. At the next evening's dinner, Lyndy was uncomfortable around us and didn't ever greet my wife and obviously avoided our table the entire night. Her junior staff assistant, Jaclyn, who had been pleasant prior was unfriendly and initially unhelpful with coordinating our final departure details for the next day. We were clearly "out" as guests with the owner which appeared to have been communicated to some portion of the staff. The whole affair was unnecessary, completely avoidable and a failure in customer care. However, upon reading reviews of the Firehole Ranch this behavior by Lyndy has been repeatedly documented by other guests. It's a very special place but we won't be back. Noel R Williams MD

Mrs. Picante found this little campsite at Hebgen Lake. Assuming the whole area would be rather beautiful, we threw caution to the wind and booked it for three nights. The campsite is a couple of miles off the main highway, along a fairly well-maintained road that heads out into the wilderness. Our campsite was flat and very close to the pit toilets, but also very close to the Lakeshore. Our California plates got us a couple of second glances from a few folks, but nothing to worry about. All who love nature and respect her always seem to be welcomed among people who quickly become friends. I had heard whispers that this particular lake has a pretty good brown trout fishery, and I was not disappointed. Granted, a couple of locals and a multi campsite large family gathering we're overheard whispering to each other about "the guy with California plates and the long rod throwing the bass lure" ... but although this was not water I had fished before, I've learned a thing or two over the years. Patience and persistence paid off, as I landed quite a few fish including one of the largest I've ever caught. And I think I earned a lot of respect from those same locals, when I snapped a few nice pictures with my fish, turned back to the water, and watched her swim away, released healthy to fight another day. Fishing licenses can be purchased online, which is how I got mine. Notably, this is grizzly bear country, so putting your things away in the provided bear boxes is essential for the safety of other campers and of course the Bears themselves. There were quite a few jet skiers and other pleasurecraft folks on the water during the day, but things settle down in the evening, which of course lasts a long time during summer in those northern latitudes. My family enjoyed renting a paddleboard for the day, and I labored through blowing up their inflatable inner tubes at altitude, much to their delight. Absolutely beautiful country up here, and a place I hope I get to visit again.

This was as part of my geology field course in July 2015. When the fault formed part of the land moved down (slipped) relative to the other. You can think of it as the ground dropped down 10 feet along the fault itself. When the fault is fresh, the place where the land went swoosh is easier to identify. As time passes, the fault scarp slowly degrades and becomes less obvious. We also had to identify between which rock formations the slippage occurred. Some rocks are more slip prone kind of like some rocks are more prone to forming ridges. We also walked along the water's edge of the Lake and talked about the waves/seiches that formed as a result of the earthquake. The landslide dynamics were jaw-dropping. After the land slide, the land that was displaced sloshed in the valley. Imagine the amount of energy and precision of movement needed from Mother Nature to slosh the land and keep it in the valley. Worth a full day to explore!

If you read Adriana's review before that one, you may be mistaken because while much of the staff is young here, I think they would handle an emergency just fine and their enthusiasm and dedication to ensure a positive guest experience is clear. Furthermore, if you are expecting glamping to control for the elements, you haven't read enough about Under Canvas or glamping in general. When we visited it was close to freezing in the middle of the night. Like Adriana we also woke up some when the fire burned out in the middle of the night. On the other hand, we also experienced the great pleasure of creating a roaring fire that, for most of the night, kept our tent very warm, and created a peaceful backdrop to reading in the comfy chairs in the tent. It was also so windy we felt like the tent might blow down but it was fine. The elements are part of what you except when you sleep in nature. Compared to our stay at Under Canvas in Paradise Valley at the other end of the park it was slightly cheaper here. Perhaps it is because there's more competition nearby as it is much closer to a population center (and entrance to the park) with the town of West Yellowstone. Like Brandy, we also heard more noise outside (Paradise Valley was silent) but otherwise, the feel and overall arrangement is very similar of course between the different Under Canvas.' If you are visiting Yellowstone and focusing on the Geothermal parts of the park on the Western side, Under Canvas could be a convenient option for you, although for the price, I would also consider just staying in the park as there so many beautiful (often rustic lodges) and upon checking just now, even for this weekend, most of them were cheaper than Under Canvas. Of course you can't compare the glamping experience but you should also consider how much time you have too as even from Under Canvas West Yellowstone, you will add an hour often times given the traffic getting in and/or out of the park each day and could just stay in the park.

The scenery was incredible and the location was breathtaking, but we were absolutely freezing. It was around 30 degrees at night, and I don't feel like the experience was really thought out for those temperatures. I expected glamping, but what I got felt like full-on camping. The staff was friendly and helpful, but they seemed very young. While everyone was kind, I couldn't help but wonder how an emergency or difficult situation would be handled, especially given how remote the location felt. I'm not a camper, which is why I chose glamping in the first place. Instead, I felt like I got the raw camping experience. We spent most of the night trying to stay warm, and honestly, at one point it felt like we were on the Titanic. The property itself is gorgeous, and that's what makes this so disappointing. The beauty of the place is a 10/10, but the comfort level was not what I expected. If you're going during cold weather, be prepared, because this is much closer to camping than I realized.
