Here in Boston to celebrate our sons 25th birthday. He had seen and heard about "Hot Pot" and the antler to give it a try. Naturally I used Yelp! To find a good place to go and Happy Lamb for the bill. We arrived early, doors still closed but the vestibule was available for us to sit while waiting. In the vestibule they have their menu posted so we browsed while waiting and had decided on what we wanted. Doors open and immediately sat at a table with flat burners. Decor is Asian themed with plenty of seating. Space is well utilized. Menu given and order taken. Once the hot soup portion was done and our protein picked out off to the buffet portion of this experience. They have three large shelves coolers with multiple shelves filled with veggies, noodles, and fish to add to your hot pot experience. They also offered hot apps and fried rice. Our two broths in one pot arrived and the fun began. Different flavor combinations as well as texture. My husband had a little bit of a hard time because we were given two spoons for both broths. I had the slotted one and he had the regular spoon so he had a hard time fishing out his add ons. Once we realized this was an issue we were given more spoons. Service was great, clarified items for us and was there when ever we needed. We made the mistake of reading too fast and thought we ordered beef tongue when it was beef TRIPE! Honestly the food was good and service was decent until the very end of our meal. We were told after around 70-80 mins or so that our "time is almost up" - that we were limited to 90 minutes. We weren't made aware of this when we came in, but not a big deal. We asked if the 90 minutes was to order or to leave, and the staff said to order. We then placed a final order and they took it. 10 mins later, a waitress comes by and abruptly says our time is up, we can't finish our food because there are other people waiting for tables, and starts clearing our plates and dumping everything into the broth pot. The 2 plates of beef and fish they just brought out went straight into the pile, wasted. Why take the order if you'll give us 2 mins from when you give it to us to cook and swallow everything? We were just shocked more than anything, and left with a bad taste in our mouths. The worst parts were we realized the family sitting next to us were there before us and still there when we basically got kicked out. I came to Happy Lamb hot pot at Washington St, Boston MA location on April 3, 2026 (Friday) around 2 PM and honestly left feeling very very humiliated. A server- short Chinese guy on that shift told me straight up I wouldn't be served because I'm a single diner and that bigger tables come first. I still waited over an hour, watching him warmly welcome and seat other groups (who came in way later after me) right in front of me the whole time. The attitude is what made it worse. He was rude, dismissive, and the way he kept prioritizing others right in front of me felt like it was being rubbed in my face. At one point he was even using gestures instead of properly speaking to me, which just felt disrespectful. I stayed longer than I should have hoping it would change, but it didn't. I left without being served. This shouldn't happen to anyone. He should not be a server, he should be reviewed by the management. Please look into what happened on that shift. read more

Today a friend and I decided to get a hot pot and we both mentioned happy lamb at the same time so as you can imagine that's where we ended up. we were crossing the street and we noticed the sandwich sign that says $19.99 or you could eat happy hour. as soon as we set down, we inquired what the $20 would include. There are six types of meat included include the lamb, the beef, the garlic, beef, pork, chicken, and one other that I can't recollect at the moment. And for those of you that have never been here. They have an amazing set up with all the vegetable noodles. Anything you could possibly think of to put in hot pot help yourself. You basically get up fill up a plate or a bowl with your favorite sauces and things to dunk in the hot pot. They have extremely fresh vegetables seafood. Everything is help yourself the only thing that they serve via waiter waitress of the meats. Thank God, we were starving when we got there, and we devoured plate after plate of sliced greatness and piles and piles of vegetables. After we were there an hour and a half wait came over with the bill and he's like oh your time is up. Take your time and finish what you have. This was a surprise to me. I did not know there was a time limit. When we went in, we just inquired about happy hour pricing and we said yeah we'll have that. On the menu actually 90 minutes. I am not sure if that includes regular pricing so call ahead to find out. If you only have 90 minutes to eat the buffet, you have to order a lot upfront as they do not kick you out they just don't let you order anymore or go up and get additional vegetables, etc.. anyway as usual at a hot pot restaurant there's not much interaction except when you're getting meats. I can say the restaurant is clean. The staff was very polite, accepting knowledgeable, prompt, and knew how to keep the customers happy with plenty of meat available quickly, which is great with the time limit. As anywhere else in China Chinatown good luck finding a spot as usual. The parking God took great care of me as soon as I was close to the restaurant boom there was a spot you can't get any better than dollars on a meter for two hours anywhere in Boston especially Chinatown. But it is a hot pot restaurant and you have 90 minutes to eat all that you can eat. I selected two different broths and had some spicy and garlic beef and beef and lamb. I enjoyed the space, the staff was very attentive and they seem to have their system down. As many of the items you'd ask for like drinks, veggies, sauce station, and some of the seafood items are on the serve yourself walls. We had 3-4 servers checking in on us regularly, grabbing more meats, clearing plates etc. the wait can be really long at times, scan QR code and join the waitlist. Our wait today was 10-15min but we had party of 3 with an earlier timed dinner. It gets to 2 hour waits at times especially during dinner rush/ weekends. We drove around looking for parking & saw how packed they were + line looked atrocious haha. Decided to try again today. Wait was not too long, ~15-20 min at 5pm Saturday. Pricing: AYCE price varies, depending on the day you go. For Mon-Thurs, it's $27.99/pp & Fri-Sun/Holidays, it's $31.99/pp. Also, they have a VIP menu, which offers a few different meats from their regular AYCE ($35.99/pp Mon-Thurs, $38.99/pp Fri-Sun/Holidays). Happy Lamb has two other locations in MA, Cambridge & Allston. We opted for their regular AYCE menu & did the tomato broth soup base. They have 5 different base options here: Original Marrow, Spicy Marrow, Tomato, Golden Cabbage Marrow, & Curry (upon request). All broths are a combo of chicken + beef bone base. Fountain drinks are free with the AYCE meal, and can get as many refills as you'd like! Meats we ordered: Lamb, hand sliced beef, marinated beef, & marinated spicy beef. I would highly recommend going to happy lamb on weekdays between 2-5 PM for their 19.99 happy hour menu. We visited on a Wednesday afternoon and took part in the promotion. As long as you are seated before 5 PM you can take part in the 19.99 pricing. The lamb and the seasoned beef meat options were very good. I found the sliced beef to be pretty fatty. During our visit they were constantly refilling the buffet options and were good about checking in to see if we needed more meats.
