The store front offers 3 tables for the eat in dinning experience and doesn't offer the cleanest appearance. The staff is friendly and direct to providing service. We ordered the General Tso chicken combination plate with beef teriyaki skewers and the Beef and broccoli combinations plate with boneless short ribs . I found the place browsing for Chinese food on one of the major food delivery apps. The reviews were solid and most importantly, they offered a solid menu. They are your typical, no-frills takeout/delivery spot. You'll find all the typical favorites: pu pu platters, crab rangoons, wings, potstickers/dumplings, egg rolls/spring rolls, spare-ribs, and so much more. In addition to all the favorite starters, they offer an extensive menu of typical Chinese-American fare. You'll find favorites like orange chicken, general chicken, sesame chicken, beef and broccoli, chicken with vegetables, and so much more! You'll also find a solid selection of "Chef's Specialities", which I highly recommend! They truly have something for everyone on the menu! For the main course, we decided to order the "Triple Delight Speciality". This is also commonly known as "Happy Family" in the Midwest and other places! It is beef, chicken, and shrimp with mixed vegetables in a brown gravy/sauce. It offers a bit of everything and is my typical go-to. We ordered the SMALL portion size and it was plenty to feed two adults! The meat was some of the most tender I have ever had at a Chinese restaurant. The beef and chicken melt in your mouth. It isn't chewy, gristly, or low-quality like you sometimes get other places. My only complaints are two things: The shrimp and the consistency of the gravy/sauce. Typically, most Chinese restaurants use regular size shrimp. Here, they use "salad" shrimp that are the size of your fingernail. Sadly, they were not firm and plump. Instead, they were a bit limp and soggy due to their size. They cook well before the rest of the ingredients and likely just get too soft. I'd love to see bigger and better quality shrimp used, especially in a specialty entree. As for the sauce/gravy, I am used to a bit thicker consistency. I found the gravy to be just a bit too runny/watery. It could've had a bit better flavor/seasoning. Overall, the quality of the entree was solid. The portion size was generous and it does come with plain white rice. Lastly, we decided to split the House Fried Rice. We ordered the small, which was plenty for two adults to enjoy WITH an entree. The fried rice is cooked perfectly and is loaded with chicken, shrimp, pork, and more! We love the portion size for the money and the selection they offer. There truly is something for every taste! Orders are always accurate, packed well, and delivered piping hot! Service is FAST, they had my entire order out for delivery in less than 15-minutes. The price and the portions are a good deal along with its location, which is right off the E line and across the street from the Museum of fine arts. I changed my mind about the order and the owner or manager came out and she was willing to change the order because it was just a minute after ordering and voided and redid my order with no problems. The food was packed very well with all the cartons in individual and tied plastic bags, then all placed inside a paper bag, then that put in a plastic tote bag complete with smiley face and "Have a Nice Day" message. I did not see one problem. Cups of fresh made duck sauce, not those commercial "ketchup packet" type. Even the photo that someone posted that said, "Would you eat this mess?" looks very appetizing to me! Rich brown sauce over something and fried rice. What's the problem? I think this may be the third owners. There was the original owner who was there for decades and when he sold it, the new management was bad and the people at the counter appeared to be all owners and rude and it was very expensive. I've lived around this neighborhood since Sept. 95. The place opened up around the same time. I love this place. It's too bad 2 of my favorite people no longer work there. I used to call in an order and soon as i give them my name, they knew exactly what i wanted and how i wanted. As you can tell, i frequent the place. I've read a lot of the reviews below and some of them were exactly to the T, while others were a bit harsh. The thing to remember is that, this is a fastfood restaurant. Being Chinese, I am particular about my food, especially Chinese food. I want it to be a close in authenticity as possible to either my own or how i remembered my mom or grandma used to make them. However, you will always find something different about it - especially if you're not from the Boston area. I have 2 kids. They're pretty picky about food as well but they will eat just about anything i pick from here. We usually order pretty much the same dishes - stir fry meats with veggies or a noodle plate. i usually ask for light sauce because i don't particularly care for a lot of soy sauce in my food. Being that it's fast food - the expected wait time is usually 10 minutes or less. when they're busy - usually around lunch or dinner, it can take up to 20 minutes. It's still good. I usually call it in and by the time i walk there - 3 mins - the food's either ready or just about done. They always greet me with a smile. i would hope so - they want my money after all :) I've had very few issues with it. Once we asked them to add tofu to my Chicken with Broccli and they forgot. They offered to credit me back or just order it next time and they won't charge me the difference. No problems there considering how often i frequent the place. The next time i ordered - 2 weeks later - they remembered and didn't charge me and apologized. Once i ordered delivery and they used the wrong sauce. Their delivery time is pretty good - better than most places. They deliever even in the most extreme weather when you don't want to go out. The place is actually pretty clean in comparison to many of the kitchens I've seen and I've seen plenty as well as worked in plenty. They do wash their hands. the cooks do too. I usually observe and observe before i purchase. It's one thing when the kitchen isn't open as theirs are, it's another when it is. I don't particularly order fried rice. Many it's because it's precooked already. they reheat it by restir-frying it a second time to give it the warm and texture. i don't particularly like the darkness either. so, when i do want to eat fried rice, i either make it at home, or ask for Yang chow fried rice. Also, i don't care about time so much, so i always order something they have to cook fresh, nothing pre-done that require a heat up, etc. For example, Chicken or Shrimp broccoli is one of my favorites. I always ask them to not overcook the broccoli that i prefer almost al dante. Lastly, for those of you that complain about their eat-in. The eat-in is a convenience. It's a fast food take out. it isn't a sit in. You look around Boston - or any major city - where there's a sit in only and no wait staff and tell me if there's a better place. Even if you do, there aren't many around. The area is very small. So they expect you to eat and go. they clean it up as soon as you're done eating - although i am sure it's expected that you clean up after your own mess with most people don't. they have a recycling bin. they offer free hot tea where most places do not. When it comes to authenticity, it's as close as it gets, seeing as though it's a fast food joint. If you want something much more authentic, you'd have to go to Chinatown and even that, you'd have to know the right places to go. While it's sit down, it's still catered to the demands of the many who crave for spices that are close their palets, not those of the real chinese. I hope this has provide some insights to this place.
